I received a notice from this USPS location stating they attempted to deliver a letter but I was not home to receive it and to have it redelivered or pick fit up after a certain date. I WAS home. While it's nice that the government hires mentally-challenged people, I don't think the taxpayer agreed to this. read more

I don't mind going out of my way to drop packages off at this USPS branch because the staff here is always courteous, helpful and-most importantly-professional. Architecturally, the building is an absolutely stunning testament to the intricate detail of the Art Deco era which I hope others appreciate as much as I do. What's more, the facility is clean, fully stocked with any supplies I may need, there's ample parking in the lot (which, by the way, has an interesting Tongva/Gabrieleño mural honoring the indigenous people who originally occupied the area) & my packages always get delivered on time...something that sadly doesn't happen at every post office. Now, the worst thing about post offices is that you never know when there'll be a long line; it's inevitable & happens pretty much everywhere from time to time. That being said, the employees here work hard to keep the line moving plus there are two (2) self-serve kiosks which I've also used to make my visits even quicker. I have only been to this post office twice... long time ago. Maybe like 7 years ago and both times my mail was delivered to the wrong post office and I had to go and pick it up from the Chandler & Tujunga location. Everyone was very friendly and found my mail and gave it to me. This review is mainly, specifically about Bobby G. He delivers some part of North Hollywood/Studio City area. I live in Studio City and Bobby covers our area. Bobby is an excellent employee, ASSET, and a great service to this location. Every time when he delivered something into my house, from the minute that he enters in to our building is so efficient, professional, kind, happy, sweet with a nice, BIG SMILE from ear to ear that not only puts a smile on my own face, but brightens up my mood and day. You can tell that he really enjoys what he does. He is always in good spirits which is hard to find these days. He greets me politely, hands me my package and always wishes me to have a good day!! Thank you Bobby G for always being kind, productive and being a true HUMAN BEING!! I haven't purchased anything from this post office so I can't speak about the cost or value of this particular USPS! This post office was very frustrating. I went there on Saturday because it was my first time sending a letter to Saudi Arabia and I needed help. Instead of explaining, they just gave me a form to fill out. When I picked up a Priority Mail envelope, no one warned me it would cost $80 to ship. The employee became rude when I refused and even tore the stamp in front of me. Customers who need help should be treated with respect and given clear information. read more

I had a very unpleasant experience at this USPS location. I went to send a package and asked for a small piece of tape to seal it. The employee named José responded in an aggressive and rude manner, telling me I had to pay $3.50 for the tape or come back another time. Is that really the kind of service USPS offers? Is that your policy--to not even provide a small piece of tape to help a customer? I felt discriminated against and disrespected. There was no empathy, no willingness to help. This kind of customer service is unacceptable. If this is what USPS stands for, it's no wonder more and more people prefer FedEx or DHL, where the treatment is professional and human. Tried to mail my Fed and State taxes and these people would not help me with finding the correct postal addresses! They were remarkably HORRIBLE and didn't give AF. had an investigation started weeks ago just to have my mail out on hold bc I wasn't receiving it. I go up there after a while and all of A sudden I dont have any mail? and they were scurrying to find me and act like I didn't have any mail. I just want to say thank you so much to the woman in charge at this location, apologies because I wasn't able to get her name but I came in frustrated because my package was missing and she made it Her mission to find it for me, with only an hour left till closing at a busy time. By the time I got home from walking my dog my package was located and she even called me later to check on me. Kindness like that does not go unnoticed! I would not recommend using this post office, especially if you rely on them for important deliveries. I've consistently had issues with my packages being delivered to the wrong buildings, and the USPO refuses to take responsibility for it. When I spoke with the supervisor here, April, about a missing package, she simply told me it showed as "delivered," so they couldn't offer any reimbursement. When I mentioned that other times the packages showed "delivered" however the packages were dropped to my neighbor building This is a huge problem for my business, as timely and accurate deliveries are crucial. I even asked if they could verify whether the packages were delivered to my specific unit, especially since I was home for the last supposed delivery that never arrived. I was told they have no way to confirm that. In short, if this is the level of service and accountability you're dealing with, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere for your mailing needs. I am going to report this to consumer affairs because this is happening way too often, where the post person does not read the label. read more

Had a great experience at the post office today shipping a package. I felt like this location pays attention to the customers and tries to be as efficient as possible. First off, it's a beautiful building. Can't be mad about that. Next, the location has 2 self serve kiosks which you can use for any task that you would need the people behind the counter for. I thought that was awesome. The line was long which intimidated me a bit but it seemed to be moving fast. An employee came out from the back room asking if anyone in line needed supplies, which I did, and he supplied. It was super helpful and definitely helped the line move quickly. I waited in line for no more than 10 minutes, probably more like 5-6. Once I got to the front the desk attendant was very quick and helpful. If only the location by my house was more like this one!! read more

Have been here twice so far and even though there are post offices closer to me, I plan on using this location from now on. The parking is easy - there is a small pay lot and if that's full, street parking isn't hard to find. I also love that the wait times are very short. The employees are really on top of everything and helpful and EFFICIENT based on Jose at the window/counter who has helped me both times I've been here so far. He's very friendly and helped me doublecheck I was getting the right postage/services and stuff, and still it was a very quick checkout process, and with a smile. Service was very very bad. I had shipped some expensive shoes online and it's been almost a month and the person who ordered hasn't gotten it. We asked if the shoes were in the back but they said "we are not in charge of what gets shipped" then they said why did you wait so long to report this and we had never had this problem. Then they said that we should wait 30 more days to report this "incident" but no. The shoes are too expensive to wait 30 more days. Overall we had a very unpleasant and very bad time there. I have an elderly neighbor who I take care of, and you have an important package of hers we need to pickup, but she doesn't have ID. I've called and called and called and called to see if the package is available for pickup / if she needs ID or just the delivery slip, and NOTHING. In general I like this place. But a definite minus it has - there is no ramp at the main entrance. I came there with a baby and a stroller and was a little surprised. Yes, there is a sign on the door to use a dock ramp, but it's not said where it is. Luckily, I didn't leave, but found a way to get inside. Thus, to get inside with a stroller, you have to go around the building and find and press the call button - some of the staff will come out and take you to the main service hall. You can also get out only this way and you need to ask someone to escort you to the exit. So, it's good that you can somehow get inside with a stroller, but it would be better to have a direct access without looking for the help of staff, which is always busy read more

I must have lucked out. The line was short. I got to the clerk in about 2 minutes on Tuesday, November 21st at 4:30pm. Rowena was quietly friendly & efficient. We had a brief, pleasant conversation while she processed my registered mail. And I was on my way. Btw, the public parkIng next door is metered parking where you pay at a pay box. So make sure you have paid enough to cover your stay. This post office seems to be erected by the WPA, "Works Progress Administration (WPA; renamed in 1939 as the Work Projects Administration) was the largest and most ambitious American New Deal agency, employing millions of people (mostly unskilled men) to carry out public works projects, including the construction of public buildings and roads." The building exterior seems to be an amalgam of beaux arts popular in the late 19th & early 20th centuries and art deco style which was popular in the 1920's through the early 1940's. Interior is more like Spanish colonial & Mission style of interior design with use of azulejo imitating floor tile, air duct gratings looking like Almudejar geometric patterns. If I had to wait in line, I'd rather be here than in some crappy designed post office building from the 1970's & on. 4 Yelp stars just for the architecture. read more

This USPS location has marked my mail delivered and not delivered it twice within a week -- and this is mail that was marked delivered inside a locked mailbox! When you contact them, all they do is offer an apology and an empty promise to look into it, which they don't. I'm not sure what's going on, but they are either extremely careless or someone is stealing mail. Unfortunately all my mail goes through here, so I am now having to request that they hold my packages. In terms of the location itself, there's no free parking and the street it's on is not the best. I was attacked by someone just outside the building at 9am. Of course, this is not USPS's fault, but beware if you plan to stop by in person. read more

Worst Post office EVER! Terrible customer service & they NEVER answer their phones during business hours! (whoever picks it up never even bothers to say hello or even "I'll be with you in a moment", they just put you on permanent hold as if they didn't even hear you!) And here it is happening yet again -- I tried to schedule a redelivery after I apparently missed a delivery attempt for a package that apparently needed a signature & found a slip that they left in my mail box (ironically, I'm actually home most of the time, but somehow the brief time I ran out quickly to walk my dog is when this delivery attempt allegedly occurred!) and I made sure to do it online right away to have it redelivered the next day - but even though I received the auto-response from the post office saying that the redelivery WAS scheduled, it NEVER showed up the next day, even though I made sure to be home the entire day (even waited on walking my dog); I listened very carefully for the mail delivery person to knock on the door so I could sign for whatever the package was, and that never happened, either - in fact, I happened to look out the window & see the mail truck parked outside, so I ran out to the mail box to see if they had just left the package in the box without knocking on the door, but there was NO PACKAGE (just other mail, so he was definitely here) or slip regarding that redelivery, so I immediately tried to call the post office to find out why the redelivery attempt that I scheduled hadn't been made, and of course it was the usual runaround of being put on permanent hold with NO ONE picking up for over an HOUR before I finally gave up (which is what I'm sure they probably count on, that if they ignore the phone call for long enough, the frustrated customer will just give up!); this is exactly what happens EVERY TIME I've ever tried to reschedule a package delivery!! They claim that it HAS been rescheduled, but then they NEVER make the attempt, when all they have to do is put the package BACK ON THE TRUCK FOR THE NEXT DAY'S DELIVERY AS PER THE CUSTOMER REQUEST! I REALLY shouldn't have to go to the actual post office & track that package down myself since it's their JOB & it's a major inconvenience for me; I know I'm not the only one who's complained about this, either; I've seen a lot of other reviews on this Yelp page about this same branch, also saying that they're ignoring redelivery requests & never picking up their phone, making life inconvenient for disabled & senior customers who shouldn't have to worry about finding their package that they requested to be redelivered & yet NO ONE at the branch wants to be accountable for it (which is technically an ILLEGAL federal offence, isn't it, interfering with the delivery of someone's else's mail! Especially when some of these valuable packages tend to "go missing" at that post office somehow before the alleged redelivery, which is convenient for them, isn't it? This branch should be investigated by the federal level! I wish I had an alternative, but this of course is the branch for our postal code, and it's been shady & shoddily-run for years! :( read more

-5 stars.. I have officially made 3 complaints to the USPS due to lack of deliveries of Packages - all with valuable items that have not been delivered to me for undeliverable address..... Yet all my regular mail seems to get it's way to me. This 3rd time dealing with this post office, the postal manager was again rude and attempted to make me feel stupid questioning ME if I had put the correct address... I was ready to go POSTAL on him.. Now I can use that phase and mean it towards this arrogant, cocky man who doesn't' listen but just kept on ranting on how IT WAS MY fault for not putting the correct address, would not even look in the back and when I asked who was my postal carrier refused to provide me any information. I have officially learned that I will have nothing of value to delivered to my residence using the USPS since somehow my packages never arrive and am always required to " reorder" my items and wait twice as long. read more

I just wanted to commend the weekday counter workers at this post office for the ~stellar~ service I recently received. I needed to send a letter via registered mail, which I assumed (silly me!) is a simple-simon task for a postal employee, but after my experience with almost the entire lot of clerks here, I know now sending a registered letter is a gargantuan undertaking that will most certainly beleaguer the staff. First, when I asked for the "materials" to send my registered letter, the counter woman contorted her face like she'd just been asked to recite pi in its entirety and screamed "MATERIALS?!" back at me. "Teach me, dear woman," I said (not really); "for I have never sent a registered letter before, and I imagined that I needed to ask for the materials [I whispered this word, lest it upset her further] here at the counter. I was expecting you to scan the pre-paid postage on my envelope and perchance give me some "registered mail" stickers to affix." Weary from my outrageous demand, she thrust a registered receipt form at me and barked that I needed to fill it out to begin the arduous process of sending a registered letter. I filled out the form and came back, to be so graciously helped by Timmy* The New Hire (*name has been changed since I didn't give enough of a fig to look at his nametag). Timmy set off on sending my registered letter and you cannot IMAGINE how RELIEVED I was to only have to spend FIFTEEN MINUTES at the counter for such a simple task! Really! Only FIFTEEN MINUTES for a process that seems to merely involve a little scannin', a little typin', a little stampin', and then I should get my receipt and be on my way. But no, I understand that (TRIGGER WARNING: the word "materials") the materials aren't always right at the front counter, so OF COURSE I didn't mind Timmy* wandering off to search for brown tape, sellotape, the stickers I originally thought I needed, and a wet sponge for the envelope seal! OF COURSE I didn't mind standing there waiting in a crowded building during a pandemic. What cure will come first, I wondered- covid, or Timmy*'s incompetence? The lady whom I originally bothered with my goofy questions about a service I never used before came to Timmy*'s aid as he prepared my letter, halting him from gluing that "registered" sticker right over the recipient's address on the envelope I printed at work on my company's dime. WHEW! Was I irritated that what should have been an easy two-minute transaction was exorbitantly expanded? NO!!! I was part of a USPS teaching moment. What a blessing! read more

Such amazing customer service!!! I had a package that said it was delivered on tracking, but it wasn't here. I left a note on my mailbox for my carrier and he knocked on the front door and said when it had been delivered it was his day off and to call this station. Jessie took the call and he called the substitute delivery lady and she told him where she put it. I checked my cameras and no one put anything there so I called back. Jessie said he'd call her again even though she was on vacation! AND he checked the GPS tracking and it showed it was delivered to the correct property. He then also called my regular delivery man, who called the sub and they all talked and my regular guy came back to my front door to tell me she described the gate and so it was def left on this property and showed me where she said she left it, and we looked around the property together. I was then able to KNOW it was brought here. It HAD to be here! I called the people who were here that day working and they told me where they had moved it to (and didnt tell me) and I found it. But my Lord! Have you ever had that level of CS from any company ever!?! read more

I'm a small business owner and usually have no issues at this location. Today was a shock. As I'm dropping off my many packages per usual, a rude employee yelled at me due to their drop box being jammed. It is not uncommon for the box to jam and I was attempting to release the hold as always. It is already a very inefficient way to make a large dropoff as it is at this location. The Toluca lake location where this gentlemen used to work would let large drop offs come to the side and dump their packages in. I definitely didn't appreciate being publicly embarrassed like that in front of all the other customers. read more

I would rather they call me to pick it up, but instead they don't even try. It's an important package and I took the day off from work. I really wish there was a way to give this place a negative review. I've had to file a complaint on my mail carrier three times in a two month period of stuffing packages and boxes in my tiny apartment sized mailbox because, apparently, the mail carrier doesn't want to take an elevator up two flights and leave the packages at my door. On top of that, I've just had to file a complaint on a package that was never delivered. They state they attempted to deliver, but was unable to get into my apartment on a day I happen to be home all day. Had they bothered to buzz my door, I would have been happy to claim the package. Now, said package is still at the post office after two calls to the 800 number for re-delivery. (BTW, each call to the 800 number had me on hold over one hour each). This place is a disaster and when they bother to call you after your file a complaint, they leave a number that they never pick up. I hate this place! read more

Yelp really needs an option for negative stars. This place is a horrible abomination that practically makes me sick with grief whenever I have to come here. The lines are always terrible and the employees all look like they want to die. Every time I have visited this place there have been several employees doing nothing while the line stretches the length of the building. To make matters worse, the last time I came here and provided my driver's license as ID to pick up a package, they took my ID and never returned it. I got home and realized they still had it, so I went back and asked for it. They were "unable to locate it." This forced me to buy a new license from the DMV, costing me $25. I've been to many post offices in my day, and this one is hands down the worst. Avoid it at all costs. read more

Tried getting a schedule to install a USPS lock in our apartment building intercom. More than a year I have been pointed at to different people, I even went to the branch and they told me to call the number which nobody even dare to answer. I called the main office and they helped me schedule an appointment last week, but nobody came. Tried escalating the issue again, but NOTHING AT ALL. Now I am lucky enough to have someone answer the chandler office number, but had me waiting on hold for 30 mins only to find out he couldn't answer my issue. He gave me a supervisor's email, Debbie, and now I'm crossing my fingers if she will ever solve this issue that has been up to for more than a year now. read more
