Here for the bagels! What I got a couple of bagels. I got the Nova Tofu CC on a Rye. The bagel was great, the nova wasn't for me... So I ended up getting a Rainbow bagel with strawberry tofu CC. This was really food but I was full from the first bagel! I am a little bummed that it wasn't toasted though, didn't know that I needed to request it (yes, not a NY regular). I love Utopia Bagels because it's a classic-style bagel shop. It seems like it might have frills simce it'soutwardly modern and trendy, but when push comes to shove, it had a somewhat standard menu. Still, the food quality is nothing less than amazing. I usually get a nova-style sandwich with capers and red onions or an egg and cheese sandwich with a protein. Pumpernickel or plain. I love Ess-a-bagels as well, but Utopia has just overtaken in my book. The coffee is the best I've had at a bagel shop, perhaps some of the best anywhere. I'm not a huge fan of the line at Utopia, but as others have mentioned, it moves fast. The staff is top-notch. read more

Opens at 6am, early compared to other nearby bagel spots, with lots of seating and fast service. Ordered a BEC on everything and was fairly cold and then ordered the hobo on everything but came on a plain bagel. Got two coffees, a cold brew and an iced vanilla latte. HORRIBLE coffee! Cold brew tasted old and sour (coming from an ex barista) and the vanilla latte looked like an iced americano with mocha and a splash of milk. They had plenty of staff and the store was somewhat empty, so there's really no excuse for how poorly everything was executed. read more

This is the first Manhattan located which recently opened June of this year. I usually custom order my bagel with tofu cream cheese spread since they offer a variety of bagels, cream cheese spreads, etc. The space is your classic go-to bagel spot that has a display of the bagels being made and there are plenty of seats to sit and eat your bagel. It is quite spacious since but it does get packed when a long line forms so do be mindful of that when coming to order at this location. Yeah, utopia was the 1 spot on My new york trip that lived up to the hype. I ran to Utopia twice on my trip. I went with the sweet option both times. French toast bagel with birthday cake schmear. Let me tell: muah. The birthday cake schmear is incredible. Sweet, vanilla-y, and the sprinkles add great texture. The french toast bagel was great. Slightly eggy, with hints of cinnamon. So amazing. The 2 together? A match made in heaven. The service is quick and the kitchen is open concept. So, while waiting you get the opportunity to watch fresh bagels getting baked, sliced, and prepped. All in all: this place gets a lot of hype. I think it is deserving. I am still dreaming of these bagels. read more

Picked up some bagels from Utopia Bagels in their Midtown location today. The establishment is pretty spacious with a few tables and seats. It also looks well maintained and clean. It's decorated simply, there isn't really a theme. Ambiance 6/10. My boyfriend and I ordered: 1. A Hashbrown: This tasted average, nothing special. I wish they made it crispier since it was very soft. Rate 6/10. 2. Tex Mex Chicken on a Garlic Bagel: This tasted yummy however, there were some negatives about this bagel. The chipotle chicken didn't have any chipotle flavor. It also lacked pepper jack cheese and chipotle mayo which was upsetting because I didn't taste any spice you normally would with these ingredients. The bacon was very overpowering, and all I tasted was that. However, the garlic bagel itself was very good, had a strong garlic flavor, and was toasted nicely. Plus, the portion size was perfect for breakfast. Rate 7/10. 3. Build Your Own Sandwich: I enjoyed this option because it allowed me to make my own choices such as the egg style, type of cheese, etc. I ordered a sausage, egg (omelette) and mozzarella cheese on a scooped out, buttered egg bagel. This was delicious, probably because it was an order I practically hand picked. The egg bagel itself though was different in terms of a classic egg bagel taste. It didn't really taste like an egg bagel, it more had a "soft pretzel from Wetzel's Pretzel" taste. Nevertheless, it was still good overall, and it was nice and crispy. The portion size kept me full and satisfied. Rate 8.5/10. The service was quick considering I ordered online ahead of time. The staff were friendly. Staff/service rate 7/10. The place is very spacious and clean. I love how there is see through kitchen area to show their making bagel station as well. There were a lot of bagel and bagel filling option. I choose the 'worth it' bagel with the lox and all the fixings, which came out to be $17.5 for one bagel sandwich. The bagel itself was indeed very tasty, but they could've added more lox. I thought there was a good amount at first but realized most of them were actually tomato's. I feel like maybe too much tomato's and the lox flavor didn't peak through, so $17.5 for this is a bit expensive but it's also manhattan prices. I received the order and opened it to eat it and felt my bagel very warm and saw my cream cheese melted all over and leaking out of the bagel. I asked the staff to check if my bagel was accidentally toasted and I was first told bagels are warm out of the oven, but they eventually verified that it was toasted and made me a new sandwich. I wish they had at least apologized for their mistake. Otherwise the bagel sandwich was good, but it didnt feel as fresh as the Whitestone location one. Food was not good at all , my bagel was burnt, the bacon did not taste right. It tasted expired or something. I couldn't put my finger on it but it was not a pleasant experience. I had to remove the bacon to actually take a bite of my bagel but at that point I was so dissatisfied that I didn't even bother eating what was left of it. It's sad to see how hyped it is over social media and the delivery and expectations are shot when you actually try it. I'm going to go with a solid 4 stars. Lines are long right now but that is to be expected. We tried a breakfast sandwich (The Cheech) and bagels with scallion cream cheese. The breakfast sandwich was super good and filling! One you should probably split. The regular bagels were hit or miss.
