Famous for their cheeseballs! Always a hit for gatherings and potlucks. They sell lots of Filipino bakery staples. They have stuffed pandesal here, tried the tuna one and it was quite tasty, the bread was soft and perfectly paired with the flavors, they also have a menudo pandesal which you don't see as often. Haven't tried that one yet. Recently tried their tapsilog here too, tapa was made to other compared to the other breakfast items turo-turo style. The tapa was very tender, although it was a little on the salty side. I also wish their eggs was made to order for breakfast, the eggs were a lil too overcooked for my liking. Hidden gem! Just do yourself a favor and stop by. The employees are super sweet, shop is clean, and they have buko pie! Not only is it made by them, but they also have two kinds - one traditional and one with a layer of ube. It seems so hard to find places that make this pie, and I'm so glad we gave theirs a shot ... lots of coconut meat baked in a very lightly sweetened milk filling. Valerio's Bakery has some legit great traits. The cheese balls are absolutely amazing and keep me coming back. The food is authentic and comforting, and there's a lot to love if you catch them at the right time. That said, it's located in a pretty rough strip mall with tight, frustrating parking. The shop itself is small and hasn't always felt the cleanest. Also, once they run out of an item, that's it for the day, so if you show up late, don't expect a full selection. If you're nearby and craving Filipino food or aomerhing specific (especially those cheese balls!), it's worth a stop. Just be prepared for some inconsistencies. read more

Filipino bakery in the plaza with the new Aldi's and long time lucky seafood supermarket. In the corner, next to Tim Ky Restaurant. Seems to be family owned. My family absolutely loves coming here for their cheese balls, when we have a potluck or gatherings, I like to order these to bring. It's usually always a crowd pleaser! It is always recommended to call in advance to place a larger order (a day or 2 in advance), to ensure they do not run out, because they do. They do sell many other baked good items, desserts, & snacks that I have yet to try. My gotos are the items show in the pictures. Recommend you go early if you want the empanadas as the sell out quickly. Also, the pansit "tray" is the way to go as it is well appointed with chicken and veggies for around $30. The Shanghai lumpias come with a plum sauce but are good by themselves as well. Made a quick stop at Valerie's Bakery up in Mira Mesa. I recently found out it was there a few weeks a go, as I drove passed it. So I made it a point to go one day. It's a tiny shop in the corner of the strip mall. Right next to Bale and Lucky Market. I wanted a little snack before work so I picked up a Siopao. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. I usually end up with Siopao that is pretty empty. Most places are stingy with the filling. Not Valerio's! Their Siopao was packed with a good amount of meat...and a hard boiled egg. The cheese balls here are SO addicting! They're about the size of a muffin, are super fluffy to the bite, and are filled with just the right amount of cream cheese. We got a box of 22 (but were surprised with 23!) for about $14. Ordering ahead on the phone made for a quick and easy pick up process! It was definitely the perfect pastry to eat for breakfast or even as a snack. I ordered some for a housewarming party and it was a big hit and was devoured in minutes! I also like their cheese balls which is also a big hit at parties! These are my two go-to things to bring. I've been here twice before. I stopped in this weekend because the Valerio's stand inside of Seafood City ran out of the cream cheese rolls I was craving. Luckily they had them here. Their cream cheese rolls are a bit skinnier here hence the price difference. It tastes similar but not exactly the same. I like them fluffier with more cream cheese. At the Seafood City Valerios it's $1.25 each and here it's 75 cents. They had a $5 minimum purchase to use a debit card. It kinda sucked because I only wanted 3 cheese rolls. I ended up getting ensaymada and pimiento rolls which I didn't really want but only got in order to reach the $5 limit. I had first heard about Valerio's famous Cheese Balls from a colleague when he brought them in to work to share. The Cheese Balls are small, rounded pastries filled with creamy cheese. Slightly sweet on the outside, and savory on the inside, these affordable treats are perfect to bring as a potluck or party dish to share. As of December 2018, they charge $12.50 (+tax) for 22 Cheese Balls. I also really like the meat (chicken and beef) empanadas, they are $1.75 each, inexpensive compared to other places. Both the Cheese Balls and Empanadas taste even better when you re-toast it at home! For large order, I definitely recommend calling in ahead of time to place your order.
