I ended up getting an awesome and straight forward deal @ Kia DTLA (ask for Maya!), and Kia Glendale was very responsivea and helpful. The internet sales manager @ Kia Van Nuys emailed me to ask how they were doing (see my response below). Not suprising that I never received a response. Hello Lauren, I was there last Saturday and had a horrible experience. I spoke to three different people via email and no one set me up with an appointment, so I just came in. I was assisted by a salesman (Tariq), I asked to test drive the car listed online for 16,737 but he wasn't sure where that car was, so we test drove a similar car. After I was finished, I checked the vin # and showed it to him that it matched the car ad listed online. After that, he told me the car cost would be more than the ad due to the dealer accessories and that the car was actually 25,900 (approx), which is $9,000 more than the advertised internet price. I expressed to him that I felt the online ad is misleading and false. He then brought in a "manager" (Omar) that agreed to sell the car to me for the 16,737 plus tax, which comes to approximately 18,737, I told him you have a deal and I am ready to purchase. After a conversation regarding financing, the" manager" refused to sell me the car because I chose to finance through my bank at a lower APR because Kia finance had a higher APR. That's ridiculous! I asked for him to show me where it states I must finance through Kia, he wouldn't show me, because it's not true. He didnt want to negotiate or offer any other options, so I left. The whole experience was horrible and it made me feel that women cannot go car shopping alone because they'll be treated differently. Worse service ever, I bought a brand new kia electric car, the driver's window don't operate properly and I came to kia service center. I spoke with Edwin, one of the representative and he told me that it takes 2-3 days to evaluate the problems( without even looking at the car), I asked him for a loaner car since it's my only car and he said they don't have loaner right now. I asked when would they have a loaner and he said in 2.5 weeks. I told him that I can wait a few weeks and then he said aweee I can't promise you'll have a loaner. I asked to speak with the manager and he pretend he's looking for him and then said he's in lunch right now. He told me that the manager's name is Ismael and he will call you as soon as he comes back from lunch. Of course no one called. My feeling, he didn't even deliver the message. Instead of getting a nice service I've got a guy with an attitude towards me, someone that didn't even leave his chair to look at the issue and bunch of lies. When I bought the car the sales team promised me so much about how great would be the service and if I have a problem with the car I'll get a loaner car and lots of sweet talk. This is a service center review. Not sales. I'm offering advice here to the manager. I'm not here to trash the employees. STEP 1- tell everyone the wait will be 3-4 hours minimum for service. No matter what the repair is. STEP 2- learn how to constantly text people with updates. They say they will but they don't. STEP 3- do not allow anyone to just show up without an appointment. I saw a mix of people there. Appointment, No appointment. STEP 4- answer phones quickly ! Leaving people on hold for a 1/2 hour is disgusting. We were graciously greeted and directed to work with Austin (Salesman) , he was genuinely a nice guy, very pleasant and honest. Austin took us on a test drive, and provided car specs and details. He was able to answer all of our questions. The negotiation, well as you may already know, this is typically the most challenging part of the purchase, however Austin and Ali (General Manager) made it painless. Left and got a call back within an hour with a decent deal but told the salesman Omar that i wasn't going to make it on time that day to bring my trade and he told me he will wait. I got there after a long drive and he left and dealership was closed. I could have done the paperwork the next day but they always want to do business that same day. I have been through the car buying experience many times in the past and it was always a time consuming nightmare. Buying from V.N. Kia was a very pleasant experience. RJ was my salesperson who was delightful. He made the process very quick and simple. We confirmed pricing and I needed to wait for the car to arrive. Upon arrival we went to the dealership, and once again RJ was so helpful and HONEST! We then moved on to the finance manager, Jhojan. He did not pressure us to add on items that we did not need. He too was very easy to deal with and very HONEST! I also spoke with the sales manager, Brandon Woods. He too was very engaged and wanting to help with any questions I had. When you book a maintenance appointment, if you have any body damage on your car, they will ask you if they can do the body work. If you tell them you're all taken care of, you've made other arrangements, and thank you, three more people will pester you and try to get you to relent, despite your clear refusal. (They must get a commission.) After your multiple clear refusals, they will still go ahead and give your contact information to an outside body shop. Yes, your contact information will go to a third party you didn't approve. That is a breach of trust. I really thought I liked these guys. This was my first time at the shop getting something done and I was looking forward to a continued relationship with them. I'll be going elsewhere from now on. read more

I'm torn about this review. I want to give a better rating, as I love my car (Kia Niro Electric 2020), even though I was a hesitant first-time buyer of the brand. I see now that value and quality goes into the car, but they skimp on quality when it comes to customer service and bait/switch fees with required services. This rating is for the dealership, not the car. Should have seen the warning signs when my salesperson was eager and extremely helpful - until I drove off the lot. Follow up calls with questions went unreturned. Had to go back to the dealership and speak with someone in-person to get simple questions answered about the car and the services that came with the lease. But when I rolled in for my first required service at 7,000 miles - I had questions about what was offered and what was actually done. They became very argumentative, quickly. I simply questioned tire rotation - as there were obvious scrapes on the wheels from where I hit the curb (oops), that following rotation - were still appearing on the same side of the car. After two weeks and finally speaking to the service manager, he explained. But we could have saved frustration if the guys at the counter had just taken the time to explain how the tire rotation works vs. just shooting down my questions. But it's the 15,000 mile service I caution you about. The KIA CONNECT app offers the service for $119 (normal factory maintenance). But when I got to the dealership, they charged me $270. When I asked why it was different, the manager quickly chimed in that is was required maintenance and this was the cost. I showed them the app and they just shrugged their shoulders. Said the $214 labor was the required maintenance for 15,000 miles. That's called a BAIT & SWITCH in my book. A lovely customer service rep followed up the next day, requesting feedback. So I asked about the conflict in pricing. She said she would follow-up. Two weeks went by and I had not heard back - so I reached out again to the rep, also asking for help with a warning of service needed on the dash (they didn't reset it when I had service). Still, no response. I tried again, a month later, to email the same rep. Still no response. Why would customer service reach out and ask for feedback, if they're just going to ignore the customers? In the end, great car. But when I decide to partner with a brand, it's for the full experience. Unfortunately, no matter how good the car is, the dealership tarnishes the brand. Perhaps consider a different dealership? Or, if it's a brand-wide problem...then stick with a brand that provides excellent customer service along with a quality vehicle. read more

I went in for recall service and Petros Pananyan told me it was gonna be 2-3 hours. Almost 2 hours later I'm still waiting , i asked Petros how much longer, he said 2 hours. I only went in for one little thing. I got here at 8:30am but they didn't start till 12pm and I had work at 1pm. I tried messaging Petros about how long will it take but he never responded. I walked back in and Petros ignored and didn't help me when there was no one there. Then a lovely woman (I should've gotten her name) came and helped me and told me the car was finally ready.
