Garlic noodles. Looks simple but tastes great

We usually have a great time here. For the flavors, consistency, and location in DTWC, its a nice and reliable spot. Pretty much all the dishes are well seasoned and I dont recall getting anything we didn't like. Portions are kinda small for the prices but not terrible.

Great Vietnamese tapas place! Awesome happy hour! Lychee martinis are super dope! I ordered the crispy chicken rolls and homemade chicken pot stickers! They won't disappoint. Their garlic noodles are the best in the area. Friendly staff, tasty food, great happy hour what more can you ask for....oh the Vietnamese coffee martinis!!!!!

I've been coming here since it was located on Main St. I love their happy hour, my go to drink is the luscious lychee martini. All the dishes are very tasty, exotic & creative also has good presentation! I'm not sure of it's Michael or Jimmy behind the bar, he is always kind & inviting! The staff always excellent service. I'll see you for happy hour soon!

My husband and I love this place. We come here pretty often because we love the food and the service is always great. We always order the same thing- chicken fried rice, filet mignon stir fry, and garlic noodles- so much that the servers remember. The Sunset and margaritas are also our go to! Vanessa's is our go to for date night

Good food, fair pricing, decent portion size and excellent service. Will definitely be back and will also try happy hour next time.

Cute aesthetic, spacious, had TVs to watch games. Service was friendly and attentive. Impressive Happy Hour 4pm-6pm daily and 9pm to close on Friday and Saturday. The drinks were nicely balanced. The coffee martini in particular was not too sweet and just boozy enough. The tuna carpaccio was just ok, nothing wrong with it, but just not very impressive.

Why have I never tried Vanessa's until now?! My friends and I came here to celebrate my birthday and we had a great time. The food was delicious! I had a lychee martini, and we all shared salt and pepper tofu, chicken potstickers, beef and chicken stirfry with garlic noodles, beef carpaccio, quail, bananas foster, and creme brulee. It was all so delicious we thoroughly enjoyed our food, except for the quail. It was a bit dry and gamey and bananas foster was okay. Aside from that everything else was solid. Definitely would come back. Love the tapas assortment, great for sharing everything.

There is a lot of parking since it is in the Safeway shopping center in Downton PH. We were sat right away and looking at the menu, a lot of the dishes felt more modern than traditional (when I compare it to other Vietnamese restaurants I go to). Decided to go with my comfort dish, which is Grilled Pork Rice Plate. Grilled Pork Rice Plate: I opted for brown rice for a healthier approach. The pork was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. It was also not dry and had a good amount of flavor to it. It sat on a bed of lettuce, which gave it a nice presentation. Overall, a simple dish which I thoroughly enjoyed and had leftovers after. I had a great time eating lunch with my parents and my partner. I look forward to coming here again.

Flavor: The soup base is really good, probably one of the best tasting I've had. Lots of flavor and not bland like some of the others. Veggies: Definitely lacked variety. Other places load up on the veggies....this place only gave broccoli, zucchini, celery and jalapeños. Very disappointing. Egg Rolls: Fried to perfection, flavorful and a good amount of filling Bf ordered the mussels...I didn't eat any but he said they were really good! I might come back, hopefully they'll add more veggies upon request...

And after visiting Vietnam twice, I can confidently say it will continue to be my favorite Bay Area pho restaurant for its consistency. The pho special number 1 (large) has everything in it - tripe, tendon, flank, etc. and I always make sure to add extra onion and lime ‍ if possible! Pro tip: don't put the hot sauce or hoisin directly in the broth, put it on the side dish! Service is always appreciated, too. Extra onions? Served. Tea? Instantly delivered Walnut Creek's location is also the cleanest I've been to, so if that's important to you, keep that in mind. The food highlights: broth is clean, noodles always the right texture, and the smoothies are absolutely necessary for something sweet - no need for boba elsewhere after. Never a bad time here - they always pay attention to you and provide the best experience. Will be back again for the 100th time!

The restaurant is very clean and the servers are quick. Parking is around back but it's a small lot so you may have to park on the street. I come here often and my go to is the pho with steak and brisket or the vermicelli with beef and egg roll! The egg rolls are bomb here and the pho is very flavorful and tastes clean without being overly heavy. My wife likes to get the combo rice plate and the pork chop and fried chicken are always on point, especially with the fish sauce. For drinks, I usually get either a Thai Tea or Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Both are very solid and I prefer to come here over other cafes just for either of these drinks.

Unfortunately the broth - the most important flavor component for me - was underwhelming. There wasn't much flavor and it tasted watered down. So I had to compensate with added salt, spice and other. It tasted very watered down. I'll probably try it again but on this visit alone, I give it three stars.

Although the location is not prominent, pictures of their beautifully crafted drinks and delicious bánh mì sandwiches have been spreading across different social media platforms. So much so that they have been featured in reporting by several local media outlets. Out of curiosity, I decided to check this spot out with my brother and a couple friends on 08/29/2025. It wasn't busy when we walked in at around noon. A quick glance revealed a space that's tiny but well organized. We were greeted by Thuy, the friendly proprietor of the establishment. Since this was our first visit, it took us a while to figure out what we wanted. In the end, we each got a bánh mì sandwich and a beverage. Pricing was reasonable IMHO (see menu pic). I had the cold cut bánh mì and an iced coffee. I gave half of my sandwich to my brother, and he gave me half of his grilled chicken bánh mì in return. Both sandwiches were delicious! The baguette was excellent. It was crispy on the outside and soft and spongy on the inside. Thuy told me later on that she gets them from Duc Huong Sandwiches, a famed Vietnamese sandwich chain in San Jose. The homemade pâté, cold cuts, and grilled chicken were all delicious, and the produce was very fresh. The iced coffee was very good as well. We chatted with Thuy extensively before and after our meal. She told us she was a banker prior to opening this café. From our conversation, I could tell she takes pride in her work. We were all very impressed by her demeanor and business acumen. Should you find yourself in downtown Walnut Creek, do yourself a favor and give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. 5 stars. BONUS MATERIAL: - You can either park at the library lot, Civic Park, or the Broadway city garage a block away. - Contactless payment. - They have limited indoor and outdoor seating.

We ordered the strawberry matcha latte and banana milk coffee! The matcha was a beautiful green color, but unfortunately the matcha flavor was quite faint, and the strawberry syrup tasted a little artificial to me. I also found the drink to be a little too sweet despite ordering it less sweet. The banana milk coffee was better! It tasted pretty much exactly how I imagined it would, although it was also a little too sweet for me even at less sweet. I probably wouldn't get the matcha again, but I could see myself coming back for a coffee, some food, or to study. The cafe is connected to the library, so it's pretty quiet, and there is free Wi-Fi through the library along with plenty of outlets. The seating is a bit limited, but there were several vacant tables and bar spots when I dropped by. There's also plenty of parking, either in the library lot or nearby. Overall, the drinks weren't quite my favorite, but I would come back to get some work done.
