Decided to try Vaqueros in Arlington on a Thursday night for dinner. It is a small place with only a few tables. The restaurant is bright and friendly. We were greeted with smiles upon entering. I asked if she suggested anything. She suggested the chimichangas. So I ordered the chimichangas with shredded beef...it was delicious! The guac tasted good. The chips and salsa had a nice kick...enjoyed them. My fried ordered the carne asada. The plate was full of meat, rice, beans and guac. She said it was tasty, especially in the tortillas with rice and beans and guac. We enjoyed dinner and will be back! read more

This place is the real deal! Mexican food that is fast but is not fast food! I've been here at least once a week since they opened. Benny, the owner is not only a great cook, but is super friendly ! My favorites are the Carne Asada (steak) burrito. That is the size of my forearm. Other favorites are the shredded beef tacos, and also the rolled tacos with guacamole. Prices are fair, portions are quite big, and the place is immaculately clean ! I used to drive 45 minutes from my house to the Denton Highway location in Watauga. I'm so glad they opened this location in The salsa that comes with the chips is truly amazing ! read more

Wanted to try this restaurant, since it's close to me, and it has a pretty varied Mexican menu. Unfortunately they don't seem to be doing much business but the food was very good and they have excellent prices. The place is also spotless and they indicated that it's also BYOB, which is great. Tried the Biria tostado and it was very good and reasonably priced. Will return! read more

Run don't walk to this authentic gem! No pictures of breakfast because we were starving. Hubby had the deluxe breakfast burrito and could only eat half. It's huge and was generously filled with all the meats. They serve you chips and salsa and it's spicy and delish with a heat that builds. Clean salsa bar with peppered onions, 5 different salsas and carrots/jalapenos I had the green chilaquiles and the flavor was spot on. Served with two eggs your choice, rice, refried beans, and a small salad. Huge portion and what I liked is that it's not overloaded with cilantro and onions. Really, really wanted some crunchy tacos the other night and just happened upon Vaqueros. What a stroke of luck! We ordered their rolled shredded beef tacos with cheese and guacamole and the flavor was awesome and portions generous. The tacos were super crispy and just what I needed! They offer several sauces, both red and green with varying degrees of heat so be sure to test them before taking a huge bite. We had a side of Spanish rice and some chips and salsa that were very good as well. Will be ordering from these fine folks again! read more

I have enjoyed Vaqueros for a couple years. Everything I have tried I enjoyed. I went today and found the prices have gone up. Not a lot for most items, but for some pretty significantly. When I got home, I noticed immediately that the burrito (which had gone up also) was half the size that it used to be. I was very disappointed. read more

Been a couple to three times this facility got a burrito. The first time it was good. It was just oversized and you can't get anything smaller and I got crunchy tacos and they were like glass. They just shredded apart and so I don't know they didn't seem to understand what I meant by the tacos, shells being overcooked and so I just left them and threw everything away. Probably won't go back. They need help. But the place has potential. read more

Food was ok nothing earth moving service was bad they had no help two people trying to handle 10 customers plus walk ins so with that being said it's not fair to say anything negative so I would try it again a little pricey for paper plates and plastic forks. read more

If you enjoy bland and tasteless California style Mexican food this is the place for you. Never in my life have I had a more dry and bland torta but that's just how Cali Mexican food is. So if you're one of those transplants that loves terrible Mexican food with 0 flavor this is the place for you, but if you enjoy good Mexican food go anywhere else. read more

I went to Vaqueros with a friend who recommended this place. I'm from California and since I've been gone I've been in search of a great tasting, authentic Mexican food. After many failed attempts from other places I'm so glad I was brought to this place. This place is definitely authentic and every bite of my food was magnificent. I will be going back soon as I can.
