The food was excellent!!! The menu is very simple, not a whole lot of options beside pasta but the pasta was very good, I would say their tomato basil sauce is very, very similar to my homemade sauce, which is a huge compliment!! The ambiance is very romantic, great atmosphere!! Now for my one and only complaint.... we were there at 4;30 on a Saturday for dinner and we were the only ones in the dining room except the waitresses and possibly a manager that were setting up for dinner. We were first given a lunch menu, at 4:30?? They had to check to see if the kitchen was ready for dinner before we could order, again...at 4:30??? The entire time we were there, they were moving chairs, moving tables, setting place settings, moving back and forth.... we couldn't enjoy our quiet little dinner. So my advice is to wait until ATLEAST 5pm to go there. read more

Pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. My fiancee and I had enough time to grab lunch together last Friday and after rummaging around her glove box for coupons and cross checking yelp we settled in for Gia Visto. We found are way to a small unimpressive strip mall at first unsure if it was even open due to a lack of lighting we could see from the outside. We walked up and went in the find it to be cozy and romantically lit. You walk in and first see the kitchen/prep room, which isn't so great but their expanded dining room was very nice and cleanly decorated. We looked over the menu and each picked an entrée- my fiance chose the chicken risotto with spinach and I got the eggplant parm spaghetti. The bread we got was a little burnt and left us underwhelmed. However the food was absolutely incredible!! We both couldn't stop eating the delicious entrees that we had ordered! We were so satisfied that we even ordered dessert on the spur of the moment- which was also delicious might I add. Overall food is 5 stars worthy. The reason for the 4th star review is just for average service and a pretty outdated exterior. I've been coming to this restaurant way before it was Gia Visto. La Cucina Dolce. Walked in w my mother for a birthday dinner to be greeted by A girl who shouts; it'll be 10 min before even acknowledged. As it's our time to be seated she raced to the table and by the time my mother who's handicapped could even catch up to her she shouts; table to the right!. At this point we were at the bathroom area. When I walked back to the lobby I proclaimed that we felt abandoned and she says "I told you to the right!". After being ignored for sometime I asked our patient blonde waitress for the manager so we could smooth things over and she explained..."she's busy cooking". After reviewing the menu for sometime I realized we were being ignored. God I hate going out... little sympathy for restaurants that cannot take being in the business and are worse than most dinners. Trashy servers that intercept w one another and trashy same old food. Needless to say we left before the meal came for fear that they would taint the food. Also the place is very dirty. My boyfriend Alex & I came in from Cleveland, Ohio, and for our dinner treat we stopped at Gia Vistro. It's a very cute, little, and vibrant eatery. We had the crispy eggplant for our appetizer which was absolutely amazing & the bread with oil was delicious. Our meals came out very fast, and filled with lots of LOVE. I feel that the only reason I wouldn't give this restaurant 5 stars is because our poor waitress is working her butt off with only help from the hostess. I've eaten at Gia Visto many times over the years. We went recently and food was even better than I'd remembered. We'll be going here more often in the future. We went early on Saturday evening so getting a table was not a problem. We ordered beans and green with chicken for an appetizer. This has always been one of my favorites here. It is spectacular... garlicky and awesomeness! I tried the farro and kale salad which had beets, dried cherries, goat cheese and a mustard vinaigrette. I'll definitely be getting that again! My entree was crab cakes served with spaghetti aglio olio and vegetables. When I ordered, I asked what the vegetables were and after checking with the kitchen, I was informed it was whatever I wanted! I had spinach, red peppers, broccoli and asparagus. Once again, perfect. Very disappointed. I was there for lunch but never got to eat After I was taken to my table I sat there for 10 minutes without even getting a glass of water. The server came in several times to give checks to other tables,there were only 2 ,she never even looked my way. When I got up to leave I told her why I was leaving she just said she forgot about me. This restaurant participates in Upromise, so I wanted to support them. The food was DELICIOUS!!! Honestly, everything is made there. The salad dressing was a sweet vinaigrette, the stuffed hot pepper was divine, the bread mimicked the finest Italian bakery, the pasta dish was one of the best I have ever had. The service, however, was awful. We arrived at 7:00 for our reservation and were immediately taken to our table. We sat there waiting for someone to bring us SOMETHING. We opened and poured our own wine (but got charged a cork fee for both). We asked for bread several times but never got it. After an hour, I thought it was time to notify the manager. Eventually, we got our appetizer....ONE stuffed banana pepper....granted it was delicious....but who serves one? We asked for a salad in advance since they still hadn't taken our order, but the salad never came. After my inquiry, our order was finally taken. After 1/2 hour, we finally got our salads. We asked for more bread, but again none came. Finally our meals came, and they were fabulous. No complaints on the quality of food. If this restaurant can get good help, they could be one of the best in this city. I will definitely return, but never again on a Saturday night. This is our second time visiting this restaurant. When we arrived for a [late] lunch there was no one in the restaurant. A few minutes later a couple of women came in and were seated RIGHT NEXT TO US! These women were quite loud - so I was exposed to their every opinion on every subject. (Yes, we should have moved.) The "cute" chairs with spoons as backrests were very uncomfortable. I had to sit up so that my back would not be against the chair. The eggplant parmesan was not cooked all the way through (some parts were so hard I couldn't eat them). The waitress (who was also the cashier) seemed a bit perturbed that she had to wait on customers; it seemed she wanted to be in the kitchen telling people the measurements for each dish. We have been going to tea for Christmas and Mother's Day for 2 years now. This is such a nice event that I wish they offered for more than 1 day. For tea they serve fruits cup, a few different finger sandwiches, soufflé, chocolate covered strawberries, the best macaroons you will ever have, ladylocks, and scones. We were the only people here at dinner time on a Wednesday night, so I can't help but wander if the reviews are stacked? Or else from previous management? There is no way someone could find this place "charming" or "intimate"... Very odd decor and ambiance, and certainly not my idea of clean. Servers were not friendly. Bread was stale. My husband and I each ordered the chicken Romano- the chicken was thick and rubbery and the texture did not resemble anything close to chicken. The spaghetti that accompanied it was far from special- ragu and boxed noodles. The best thing about the meal were the House made salad dressings. Neither of us finished our entrees. Wow this was an amazing meal. My customers picked this place for dinner and I had no idea what to expect though you will not be disappointed. Everything we had was wonderful. We started with greens and beans appetizer this was cooked properly and very fresh. The house salad was good and different with a white balsamic and yellow raisins among the many toppings. For dinner we all had different dishes though since I was a newbie they insisted I tried their dishes all 3 dishes were different though all so good. From the huge pork chops, to the Bolognese to my dish with pasta and clams I enjoyed all three. We also had a chocolate cake with ice cream which was also good. Very nice Italian. Everyone in our group of 11 loved their dinner. The Penne Visto chicken is the best chicken pasta dish I have ever had. The chicken is marinated and thinly sliced. Absolutely perfect taste and texture. My sister in law loved the Trenne pasta with veal and sausage. Great veggie selection Kombocha squash risotto satisfied both of the veg people in our group. The farro salad with beets, kale, grapefruit, cranberries was quite delicious. Eggplant Parm is luscious. Service was excellent. Bonus for our group: it's BYOB. The breaded chicken could not have been cooked any better than what it was! I also had the arancini app which is a go to for me at any Italian restaurant and it was fabulous. Disappointed in the level of service and food quality received during my recent visit. The cappuccino I ordered was lukewarm and when I brought it to the servers attention, she mentioned that it would take an hour for the machine to heat up. The lack of preparation to serve the lunch crowd needs attention. In addition, the pasta dish that I always order, was prepared poorly. I ordered pasta with Romano cream sauce with meatballs and the pasta came in Romano cream sauce with two meatballs that were soaked in red sauce propped on top of the pasta with Romano cream sauce. The coffee creme brulee dessert was not appetizing or visually appealing. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was informed that the owner was in and I could talk to her. Instead of the owner coming to me-a guest/customer, I had to meet her in the payment counter. She was insistent that I needed to specify that the meatballs not be in red sauce. I have visited Gia Visto in the past and looked forward to returning for I haven't been there in a while. I had lunch there a few days ago and my sandwich had very little tuna, lots of lettuce and was quite small. It was served with more lettuce on the side and 5 small pieces of pineapple. There was not a chip or fry served with the sandwich for $9.95. We walked out of this establishment hungry. As I looked around, others dining there had empty plates in front of them. This to me was a sure sign that their portions are extremely small. My visit back was a total disappointment. read more

The food is really very good here but the service makes it just not worth while. Today I arrive to a half empty restaurant and was told it would be about 10 minutes before they could seat me. 15 minutes later they did walk me back to a small corner table. During my weight no one entered or left the restaurant which made me curious as to why I had to wait to be seated in the first place. I ordered a nice meal and soup. After another 25 minutes with no bread, no soup, and no sign of a server I decided enough was enough. I stopped by the front counter on the way out and said I was leaving but I would appreciate providing some comments to the manager. I was told the manager was busy cooking and asked what I wanted. When I asked about the delay to be seated I was told very nonchalantly that they don't see people as soon as they arrived because people don't expect to get their food right away. Seems to me the dining room is too large, perhaps, except it's very small. I asked how it could take 25 minutes for soup to come out. The answer was we are bringing it out right now. Their entire attitude was clear that they thought I was in the wrong and should have no reason for concern. Won't be back. read more

A group of eight of us recently had dinner on a Friday night here to celebrate a family member's birthday. Despite its location in a slightly out of the way strip mall, the atmosphere is very nice and the food is simply outstanding. And an added bonus...it's BYOB. Several of their pasta's, and both the regular Italian bread as well as the foccacia are house-made, as are all of their desserts. We started out with the greens and beans and the bruschetta appetizers, which we all shared. Each dinner came with a salad, either a standard mixed salad or a kale salad, which I had, and it was very good. Two of us had the house-made pappardelle with shrimp, spinach and mushrooms in a white wine cream sauce, which was fabulous. Two other people in our party had the house-made gnocchi., also excellent. Someone else had the scallops with sweet pea risotto, also very good. I can't remember what the other people ordered, but we all loved the food! Prices are very reasonable, and our server was friendly and attentive. This is now my new "go-to" Italian restaurant. I highly recommend it read more
