Nice atmosphere but service was just horrible. We were seated right away, but it only took over 20 minutes for the waiter to come to us. I had to forcibly make eye contact with him because he was over talking or what seemed to be more like flirting with the girl who worked at the front of the door who sat us down and he still acted like he couldn't see us. The worse part of it all, was that the place was pretty much empty! When he finally decided to walk over after we were borderline about to walk out, he then asked us if we wanted anything to drink. We could not have taken the chance of him leaving again so we just asked for water and gave him our order. Thankfully, the food came in a timely manner. Had their VB3 burger which was good. Also had their "Roasted Eggplant Meatballs", that however, I was not a big fan of. Not sure if it was the large sizes of eggplant pieces or what exactly but just wasn't my thing. I can definitely see the place having potential, however, if the service I received is conducted all the time, I can unfortunately foresee its decline. Appears to be more of a bar scenery rather than an actual restaurant. Do not recommend if you are on a time constraint or meeting someone there for the first time. Now that I live closer, I've been ordering from here a lot more, and I haven't had one bad experience. Literally everything I've had is fairly priced and very tasty - pizza, wings, burgers, you name it. I usually go with the buffalo chicken pizza, which tastes absolutely amazing. VB3 is definitely in my top 3 pizza places in Jersey City. After ordering a burger from here last weekend, I think that'll become one of my regular orders too. I figured it might not be the best but I'd give it a try, and I was more than pleasantly surprised. Flavorful, juicy, and cooked to medium rare perfection. On top of the fantastic food, staff are always friendly and orders are ready very quickly. I'd recommend this place to everyone, they earned another star from me. read more

This was my first Jersey event, and my first time in Jersey City! What a pretty venue! Our server was super nice, too. We sat at the bar and enjoyed eating the pizza (onion, veggie, and bbq chicken). I also liked the rice balls, eggplant meatballs (no meat in 'em) and the beans on some bread. I also thoroughly enjoyed the fig martini-it was nice and sweet, the way I like it! One of the trendiest looking bar on the west side of Hudson River. My colleagues and I came to this bar after a great dinner out because us out-of-towners always need a night cap before actually calling it a night. I don't believe any of us knows anything about a famous chef being here, we just want our spirits and beer. We were here during the Superbowl weekday and for a Thursday, it was pretty packed with people. There was a DJ playing 80s and early 90s music with a bit of dance beat to it. The service was a bit slightly slow but we were having a good time talking and checking out the scenery. As I mentioned it was pretty packed with people and it was definitely a good crowd of pretty people at the bar. I think we were buying enough drinks that the owner (or a partner at least) brought us a tray of free shots. We did ask what was the shot and we heard he said Jameson, but it turns out it was Fireball. Never less, a free shot is a free shot. Some of us had to go and I stayed behind a bit to have one more drink. We moved from the table to the bar and the bar counter is pretty nifty with color water moving around. The price for the drink is fair consider the atmosphere and all. I will definitely keep this place in mind if I am never in Jersey City again and need to take a friend or co-worker for a night out. read more

A word to the wise: don't bother trying to get blue cheese on your buffalo chicken sub. They've forgotten to add it to my sandwich on four separate occasions, and it's already bizarre a buffalo chicken sandwich doesn't come with blue cheese. This is my first experience at VB3 and my expectations were exceeded by the amazing service I received from the bartender Ryan! Not only did he immediately greet me with a friendly smile but was extremely patient while I was deciding what to drink. He made some amazing recommendations and I ended up choosing the VB3 speciality cocktail... And YUM!! When my drink was almost finished he was attentive and right on point asking me if I was ready for a second round!! The rating is for both the pizza business and the restaurant business. If rating each separate, pizza is a 5 and restaurant is a 3. While I normally only grab a slice of Pizza it a whole Pie to go, my party wanted more than Pizza. We were out on Wednesday on a cold January night at about 7p. The bar full but not crowded and there were plenty of available tables. The menu is above average Italian with a wide variety of proteins and pastas. The ambiance is very confusing - is VB3 a Sports Bar that serves upscale food, a venue that serves food during the day/evening but becomes a disco at night/weekends, or upscale restaurant that has an overpowering sports bar in the middle. Our night had sound muted sports viewing from every seat and overbearing bass beat from more modern tunes. As for the food, 2 appetizers, one fish dish, one pasta dish and one veal dish were ordered. The time to table was very reasonable with good spacing between appetizers and mains. The portion were very nice, well balanced protein to vegetables. As I can not remember what each person ordered, I would say the food was not remarkable. If you find yourself in Jersey City, order a pizza you can not go wrong,. As for the sit down side, if at one of the local hotels(Westin or Double Tree) and the weather is bad-go close and get an ok meal and inexpensive prices. read more

They have the most exquisite, Mouth water, Bone shaking, Arm quaking, Mind Baking, Knee Shaking, Philly cheese stake in the whole world! The cheese is perfectly melted on the thinly sliced Stake, The fries are so crispy and satisfying to bite into. Same thing with the Philly cheese Stake, I've been coming here for quite a while and the Philly cheese stake never fails my tastebuds, This is possibly one of the most Under-rated Places in the world. When dining here the food was tasty, the drinks were ok. The issues came in when it was time for the bill. The server gave us our bill with charges for things we had not received. She immediately fixed the problem but when splitting the bill between 2 cards the server completely screwed up! The first card was charged the correct about but the second card was overcharged. by $132.75! The server went to get the said manager (Patrick) because she was unable to explain why that happened. Patrick came over to our table and immediately began to talk down to us saying we don't understand how things work. He told us that the card is not charged the full amount despite it already being deducted from the holders bank account. Patrick not once apologized for this huge inconvenience or for the server completely dropping the ball with this one. He was super dismissive. Instead of canceling the entire transaction and starting fresh as suggested and as needed he charged the card once more for the proper amount, totaling an overcharge of $132.75. Which is a major overcharge. Mid conversation Patrick walked away mumbling words/things that should not be repeated. Horrible experience! Had dinner here with a group of 10 people. I had only ever stopped by here to get quick pizza. I never thought much about eating at the actual restaurant. I'm really glad we came here. I had the octopus appetizer, which was seriously one of the best prepared octopus appetizers I've had outside of Newark, NJ. It's pretty hard to find a good octopus outside of Newark, and this was one of them. I had the Porterhouse special, which was absolutely awesome. The mgr told us they're going to be adding an extensive steak/chop section to their menu. If this was any indication, then sign me up. Wonderful flavor, good cut, cooked to my specifications. The only thing I might say would be to possibly go without the rosemary. It's just not my thing when it comes to steak, but it was still very very good. Friendly staff, terrible food. I came to watch a UFC event and had a generally bad experience. We ordered truffle fries, and they were the worst fries I've ever had. Tasted like microwaved styrofoam. We also got a bottle of wine, and it was very mediocre. I've had better boxed wine. They also didn't change the audio to the UFC event until the very main event, so you couldn't listen to the prelims. For those folks from NY that think Jersey is too far, I must say, Jersey is closer than you think! I actually got to the area in like 10 minutes by taking the NY Waterway. Sure, it's a bit pricey, but wow, it makes everything so much closer. Even the past weekend I took my boo on a romantic walk along the waterfront, and it was only 20 minutes on the PATH. As far as the event goes, I really enjoyed it. I got to try the New Jersey Beers, and they were all delicious. The mixed drinks were also nice and sweet. I decided to try this place on a Saturday night. This is a nice trendy sports bar. We sat at the bar and we shared the brick oven wings which were delicious. I then had the winter salad which was okay. I do have to say the bartender were super attentive and fast which I loved. Around 11:30 a DJ came on and it became sort of a lounge. Went here for Father's Day. I was there at 12 noon for a reservation. I thought they opened at 8 am and figured it would be crowded by noon since it was a holiday. I've deducted one star for the service which was pretty decent accept for the fact they got our orders wrong. I was pretty impressed when the Bar tender was taking our order and not writing anything down. We ordered the salmon Benedict which was delicious but had no hollandaise sauce or asparagus like the description in the Brunch Menu. We also ordered an omelette with 3 add ons of mozzarella, spinach and egg whites which was also good accept that it was made with the yolk. Probably the best pizza place in Jersey City - love their white pizza and wild mushroom pizza. There is a nice bar area if you want to hang out with friends for drinks. There is outdoor seating during summer months. Over time their menu variety has become very limited - would be great to have more choices.
