I love Vega! We stumbled upon them only by chance, because they ARE hidden, like other reviewers stated. It only took one visit to have me and my family hooked, though. Their Blast sandwich keeps me comin' back, and is extremely craveable. The Fruit Salad w/everything is another great treat, esepcially on those hot summer days when you want something refreshing and healthy to cool you down. Staff is polite and friendly, and on the right days when all their doors are open, the breeze that the building catches is heavenly. Yesterday was our first time trying this place. We really enjoyed the carne asada torta we had yesterday, so we came back again today. It was really good! The meat was packed with flavor and their bread was nice, fresh, and toasty. Their portions are huge and there was a generous amount of meat in it. Their menu is extensive with lots of items to choose from. There is Mexican food, sandwiches, salads, fruits and smoothies. So far we have tried their Ortega chicken sandwich, fruit salad with honey, granola, and cottage cheese, pesto pasta salad, mango pineapple smoothie, and carne asada torta, which is our favorite so far. All of them came out fresh and were delicious. We also had a cup of their tortilla soup as part of the carne asada torta combo. It was yummy! I really enjoyed the soup. It had a generous amount of tortilla chips and a pinched of sour cream that made it taste creamier which I like better. I would get the regular bowl next time we come back. The only thing I did not care for was their fries that were cut into chunky pieces. I would have preferred the regular cut fries, so we are kind of hesitant to order their carne asada fries. We will be back again to try the other items on their menu such as the adobada and pollo asado tacos and tortas. The place is clean and tidy with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Food is pretty good here. Large portions and quality food. A few minor things that irk me. They don't always accept their coupons (odd), for example those in the Entertainment Book (who declines their own coupons). Second is that I've never felt the A/C on in this place, even when it is 95 degrees outside. Always just the doors opened. I really don't feel like eating in a stuffy hot restaurant. read more

My sister brought me to this jewel in Eastlake! I've been here several times and have ordered mostly their tortas which are still to disappoint! The portions are huge every time and they are well made. I've ordered their juices and they are really good. But my all time favorite thing to order are the tostilocos they make here. For those of you who don't know tostilocos but are fans of spicy and sweet treats -you must try! - its a bowl with tostitos (yes the chips) topped with cucumber, jicama and peanuts, topped with chamoy, lime juice and hot sauce they also have "cueritos " which if you don't know what they are I would not include. But if you're up for experimenting ask for them! They are pickled pork skins -just do it! - worse thing that can happen is that you have to pick them off. This 5 star rating is based on my one time visit. Stopped in this morning for the first time on a whim. Tried the breakfast burrito and it was great!! The rolled tacos were just ok. Mostly tortilla and very little meat. Wife tried the club Sandwich, which came with roast beef, ham, turkey and bacon. We have been to Vega cafe several time and I always get the same things : quesadilla, rolled tacos and fruit salad. I have never been disappointed with the food or service. The guys working there on Friday afternoon and Saturday mornings are great. They are so nice and always get your food out fast. I love eating here too.
