Philly Special, Chocolate Shake, BBQ Cauliflower
    Trish I.

This place has been on my list to try for a while in Philly and it did not disappointment! I ordered a meal to go so I could eat during my lunch. It's definitely more on the expensive side as others have noted (I paid $40 for my meal) but the Philly Special, Chocolate Shake, and Buffalo Cauliflower I ordered were awesome. I'm certainly going to be going back and trying more things on the menu!!

Loved it. Pita egg & mushroom.

Enjoyed my first vegan egg mushroom pita sandwich. My daughter had plant based chicken sub. The food was excellent, piping hot. The waitress was friendly, restaurant was clean. I was delightfully surprised.

The place was understaffed and it was a hot day. The people who had to work seemed worn out. AC was enough, at least for the customers. My bacon burger and one of my friend's bacon burger were cooked too much. My avocado smoothie was good and another one of my friends liked the french fries, which weren't bad. I'm not sure how the seafood is here. I was tempted to try, but I wanted to eat vegan because my friends are vegan and I wanted to be respectful of that since we went there because it was a vegan place nearby. The interior decor is superb and very homely. It is a nice local establishment to try to vibe up the 52nd St. business district with its neighbor next door.

What stood out the most? The customer service was great! A majority of the staff here is less than 30 years old please don't that deter you. Each person we encountered was helpful and attentive. I walked in to inform the staff I would be bringing in a disabled person. They immediately sprung into action carving out a secure section for them. While I parked my car my guest was offered a complimentary soft drink while they wait for me. NICE TOUCH! As a starter we had the buffalo cauliflower, yum! We both ordered the Chesapeake Crab Cake sandwich with fries and enjoyed it. The lemonade was very tasty not overly sweet but flavorful. Our portions were adequate and served hot. The decor is modern and bright with minimal decorations which works for the space. I found Veganish very clean from the door to the open kitchen. A hard task considering on this day they were very busy. I don't live in the area but I will return and recommend others give it a try!

Ive been to Veganish twice and each time, I have been impressed! I had a chocolate shake the first time, but now they dont do shakes anymore, so that was a lil disappointing. But the food was on point so no stars were removed. The decor is awesome, they have amazing artwork on the walls and the Ali mural is dope! The service was good, no complaints whatsoever. The cashier told me that it would take 15-20 minutes for my order, but the food came out hot and earlier than she said! A+ This visit I got some cheese fries and a fish sandwhich. The cheese fries are always top notch! The fish sandwhich was spicy with some jalapenos on it and I love spice, so it worked for me. Large tasty bun was also a plus! Overall, I enjoyed my food both times and I will definitely be a return customer! One thing- Bring back the shakes!!!! :)

There's so much to love about Veganish! The food is full of flavor and care. It was my first stop when I got into town for a visit and it set the bar high -esp since I'm a picky pescetarian. I loved the carrot ginger lemonade as a refreshing change and the Bella sandwich was soooo good and fresh. I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

Bacon Cheeseburger inside with the smoky mushrooms - yum

I've been meaning to try this place and I finally did! I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but curious lol. My sister and I called them directly and ordered pickup for "bacon cheeseburgers" with fries on the side. Was a little taken aback that everything is a la carte, but eh, what can you do? I personally can't say how it was inside since my sister went in to get the food. She did say it looked nice and there were younger people working. Just know it's hard to park around there and I had to double-park on the famously busy 52nd Street lol. Food was ready in a decent time for direct pickup (about 20-25 minutes). The food was piping hot inside the bag and smelled amazing. Once we got settled to eat, we opened it and the burger looked like a real burger, and the smoky mushrooms that acted as bacon tasted like bacon! The cheese was good too and didn't taste plastic-y like other vegan cheese I've had before. Even though the burger was a little smushed, it was good and the fries were good too. My sister didn't like the cheese sauce they had for it but it was good to me. I'd come back to try more food. :-)

A very much needed vegan restaurant in the middle of a neighborhood that desperately needs it. This was my first time trying this place and it was pretty cool. Service was very fast. They have a nice menu, although small. They have delicious vegan cupcakes and pies also

Vegan-ish is a gem that can be hard to spot from the street if you're passing by (see picture for storefront). All of their dishes are vegan or fish, which is great for us. We ordered their chickenless cheesesteak which was enough for two people to split and really delicious. For sides, we ordered the Brussel sprouts and buffalo cauliflower. Brussel sprouts were okay, but the buffalo cauliflower was amazing. We had a slight mixup where they forgot to include one of the items I ordered when I picked up, but I was able to get a refund no problem when got home and called, realizing the mistake. So +1 for good customer service. Bonus points for earth-friendly cardboard containers and no plasticware! Can't wait to go back and try some more of the menu (and return for the cauliflower).

I'm back!!! Lol so this was my first time having an impossible burger and I absolutely loved it--I ordered the When Smokey Sings Burger this time and it was phenomenal, probably my go to for now on my only recommendation would be to order this as a double burger because it was a lot more bread then I would've liked. Thanks Vegan-ish y'all have a loyal customer in me

My second time here and the guy at the register is so pleasant and accommodating! My friends and I ordered a few bacon cheeseburgers, salmon wrap, buffalo califlower, fries ! The food was good I was pleasantly surprised how flavorful the burger was and tasted like a real burger. We did have a wait ahead of us abt an hour but it was cool they offered water or coffee which Was nice. I will be back to try other options.

The place is new and cute. The Fried cod fish Sandwich. It was really tasty, a blend of sorta sweet and spicy, it was a really good amount of avocado on it. However, the cole slaw was a little too wet. The buffalo cauliflower came about 5 pieces at $5 so $1 each ? It was a little too much breading for my taste however it was nicely coated in a nice sauce. The Chickpea Burger Samosa was bomb.com so good!! If you ever had an Indian samosa it resembles the taste of that (hence its name). It was very flavorful had a great crunch and balanced out nicely with the apricot chutney. The arugula side salad $6 was very skimpy just arugula and maybe 4-5 slices of tomato. The staff were friendly and helpful. Service was slightly slow but everything is made to order. Can't wait until they get their online ordering will be back to order sandwiches:)

But, on…read morethe multi-festival Saturday, second of May in the year 2026, I can definitively say that I've now tried the little seafood spot on one of our favorite corners, that we're almost always just passing by to get to Time. First, the friendly, informative service: in an oyster bar with a rotating fresh selection, that's an underrated must. We were seated outside, given a rundown of the menu and "as it's ready" flow of the kitchen. We got a pair of cocktails, the Melonata and a Tequila Julep. I think the Melonata might be my new summer favorite. It looks like Ecto Cooler but doesn't give a distinct feeling of growing diabetes while drinking it. In grown up terms, it was well balanced, not too sour, not too sweet, and deeply herbal, fruity, and refreshing at the same time. The Tequila Julep was a Mint Julep with tequila instead of bourbon. It was good, though it's hard to mess that set of ingredients up. We got a selection of oysters and a shooter. Every oyster was distinct and different. Felt like there were no "different on the menu but same in flavor profile" that you can sometimes run into. This implies it's well curated. I have no idea, because I'm not an expert fishmonger, nor do I know whether that term specifically applies here - case in point. Anyway, I got 2 from Washington State, and another from Cape May. The first WA was large, buttery, and had the satisfying chew of young coconut flesh. Semi sweet. The second was smaller, sharper, and briny as hell - tasted of the ocean. And finally, the Cape May was mild and fresh, a good balance between the two others. It was a perfect little tasting menu that I'd created by just ordering the first three guys off the list. Not sure what selection came with the shooter, but the concoction in the shot glass shooter was bright green and pickly. Glad I got it as a contrast to the classics with what I assumed was red wine vinegar. Besides that, we snacked on salmon avocado toast with the Calabrian Chili Oil. It was also very, very good. Sometimes things are better than the sum of their parts. This is true here, but it's also worth noting that the individual parts - the bread, the smoked salmon, the chili oil, the avocado, the shaved onions - were excellent in their own right. We will be back for sure.

Placed an order for drinks, oysters and the rest of happy hour menu and choice selection of regular menu. I assumed things would come out staggered. Usually cocktails and raw bar would come first. But no. Raw bar came after sandwiches and wings so that threw off the ambiance. I still hadn't received my drink as more food was being delivered around me; and while I was watching one bar staff crouching under the bar on their phone, after a while I was like...do you know if my drink is on the way? It was her. She forgot. Literally It's first seating at the bar. Anyways wings were fine. oysters and clams great. Shrimp toastie & fish Sandwich fine. But when it came to the Al Pastor Octopus that I generally love here, this one was both chewy and slimy. Like the whole sleeve of the octopus had a slime layer- , was it the tentacles part? I had to keep spitting out. Not a nice chargrilled taste but each slice chewy with slime layer. Bleh. So disappointed. Threw the $20 into the trash. Didn't even get an "oh no" from the staff. Like why did we not want it when asked and I made the face. each bite was slime We settled up and immediately went next door to eat at double knot and that, per usual, WAS 5 star amazing.

The oyster liquor makes it so the oyster remains fresh btw as well which is obviously uber important. We had oysters from Maine, Rhode Island, and Connecticut and all of the ones we chose you could taste the unique differences from one to the next. Crab cakes were on point; the vegetables were next level with the side of asparagus coming with roe on top of it. New England soup was actually light and not heavy like most creamy NE soups which I appreciated as it made me have room for the rest of the meal. We also indulged in some Butterscotch Pudding which in my view had three distinct flavors. The very top tasted similar to sweet creme Brule, the actual pudding was creamy and delish and there was a garnish of whipped cream I believe on top. All items surpassed my expectations and we will definitely be repeat customers. Highly Recommend. As always people SYOY!!!!

That was my favorite part, how interesting walking through each room was. Unfortunately, the service and food were problematic. We had a group, not huge by any means, but the group gratuity became an annoyance following the service. Most importantly, multiple people in the table were served undercooked fish--the inside of their salmon was completely raw. One of these guests also had a severe allergy, and was still given plates with that allergen after alerting the server multiple times. One of the pomegranate margaritas we got was undrinkably spicy. The staff did replace the salmon, but it was sad to see multiple members of our group get cold and undercooked food. Furthermore, our table set the reservation during the Fearless Restaurant week--but when we asked for the special menu advertised online, our server had no clue what we were talking about. He had to ask us what the items on the prix fixe menu were. And after all that, the multiple drinks each person at our table got, the mid-level set price for the 3-course special, we were still hungry. The portions for the fearless menu were really small. But, due to their menu prices, rather than order more I went home for a second dinner. I really wanted to like this restaurant, but I'm disappointed and underwhelmed. We got the tasting menu (with the additional lobster snack), and got 3 drinks total. After tax and tip, this meal cost us ~$600 dollars for 2 people. At that price point this should've been the best meal I've ever had in philly - or one of the best in my life tbh. But I was so disappointed in each dish. Almost everything fell flat to my palate. With small bite presentations such as this, I firmly believe that each bite needs to taste like a flavor bomb in my mouth. Instead, it all tasted very 2 dimensional and was severely lacking in some acidity or spice. Didn't even bother taking a picture of all the dishes. I don't believe FSS is on par with other Michelin star meals I've had, especially not at this price point. Overall, don't waste your money at FSS if you want to celebrate an occasion. You're honestly better off going to a starr restaurant and paying less than half the price ‍
