Veggie Lee is a favorite among vegetarians and meat eaters alike. I have had fantastic experiences both dining in as well as ordering for pickup. The service is consistent, fast and friendly every time. I have tried many dishes on their (extensive) menu but have found the salt and pepper chicken and sesame chicken dishes to be my favorite! The potstickers and spring rolls are also delicious. The dishes may seem a tad expensive, but they are family style and my boyfriend and I can split a dish and both feel full. My issue with the menu is that when you serve vegan/veggie, why does nearly every item have to be an imitation of meat? Vegan chicken, vegan beef, vegan pork. If vegan is so amazing, why is the menu full of meat imitations? Just call it what it is. Fried soy. Fried soy and rice. Two carbs with seasoning. If people think that's healthy eating, I have an island to sell you. I tried it just to see what the commotion is, but it wasn't great. My vegan friend and I (vegetarian) came here for lunch and we LOVED it. We love the soy meats they had to offer. The fried chicken definitely tasted better than the soggier grilled chicken however both were delicious. We also ordered a soup which was very flavorful! The only reason I gave four stars instead of five was that service was kind of slow. It was busy but not overly crowded. No one was waiting in line or anything however we couldn't get refills on our water for about 10 minutes. We also asked for our food to be on the spicier side and it seems like they completely ignored our request and made it how they typically do. They have a parking lot so parking was not difficult. We've ordered food here several times. Among the dishes we ordered, those that are most flavorful are: Sizzling Eggplant with vegan fish steak (excellent) Dry sauteed green beans broccoli and vegan beef Mapo Tofu Vegetable fried noodles We ordered Mushoo vegetable for take-out yesterday. Unfortunately, it was bland, consisting mostly of cabbage, interspersed with a few strands of carrot and wood ear mushroom. Since this restaurant does not use eggs, increasing the amount of carrot and wood ear mushroom, and perhaps adding one or two more items, such as bamboo shoot and tofu, would have enhanced the flavor quite a bit. The most disappointing thing though, is that we were given 6 dried out pancakes for the dish. The pancakes were folded into halves and tin foil wrapped. By the time we got home, the pancakes were completely broken along the folded seams and unusable. Other than this one bad experience with the Mushoo vegetable, which I do not recommend ordering, we still consider Veggie Lee a good restaurant. The food is generally flavorful, and they are rather generous with the quantities served. read more

I eat vegetarian a few days a week and during finals week I was just too lazy to bother cooking anything. I saw all the reviews and Yelp and was kind of skeptical, but I decided to order anyways. I ordered pineapple fried rice (without vegan chicken) and sweet and sour vegan chicken. When I opened the sweet and sour chicken, I thought there had been a mistake. It looked like real chicken. I was even more concerned after taking a bite. IT TASTED LIKE CHICKEN. I almost wanted to call and make sure that I had indeed ordered the began chicken. it wasn't until I chewed really slowly that I noticed some tofu-like taste. I was so impressed by the quality of the vegan chicken as well as the amount of food I received! The pineapple fried rice was also great, though it was a little on the dry side. Surprisingly this place is really good. And we are not vegan. But the vegan/vegetarian options are so good. My boyfriend is so anti fake meat, but he was surprised how good it was. I would not say this place is healthy due to the salt, seasons, sauces they use.. but definitely a good option to replace meat. Ordered the bitter melon with beef as a chow fun, the salt and pepper tofu, the pan fried noodle with tofu and curry sauce (Singapore noodle chow fun version), and the pan fried bean curd roll. All dishes were large and tasty. Their house made chili oil is a must have when you get their food as it's delicious! I'm sure you can't go wrong with anything you order from this place. This is from a serious meat eater but I do enjoy vegetables. I was curious as to how the "meat" tastes. I was not sure what to get but I wanted some sort of "chicken" or "beef". I asked what was in shechuan beef (meaning what vegetables). All the waiter said was something spicy so yah not much help. The beef was not much like beef but I can't judge it on that. It was the sauce that I found not much like shechuan, it was not spicy. So that "something spicy" was not too accurate. Had more of a sweet taste to it. Delicious Chinese food - all plant based and vegan. What I ordered today: 50 dollars of food and it can feed 5 - 7 people. I don't have 5 - 7 mouths to feed so I will pack all the leftovers in the freezer / fridge. Meals all planned out for the the week. 1) Tofu Seaweed soup 2) Sweet n sour vegan chicken 3) Sesame vegan chicken 4) Veggie chow mein The portions are generous even for take out. What I love about the veggie chow mein is that it doesn't feel greasy at all! Both vegan chicken were perfectly cooked - zero oil residue (simply amazing....) and the perfect amount of crunch while delicately dazzled in sauce. The sweet n sour vegan chicken came with green bell peppers and pineapples (yum!), while the sesame vegan chicken dish came with broccoli. The chef was very thoughtful in the presentation - the portions balance out perfectly with the amount of veggie chow mein. My favorite soup from Veggie Lee's is the tofu seaweed. It is so refreshing to have an entire menu full of vegetarian options! What is even better is so many different options of everything from vegetable dishes to faux-protein varieties. The interesting thing to note is due to Buddhist practice, they do not use onions, garlic, chives, green onions and leeks. In my food, I want enough garlic to repel Count Dracula! But, the food is so flavorful at Veggie Lee that it took me 3 different days of ordering before I even noticed the absence of garlic or onions. Portions are large and service is friendly. Huuuge fan of this place! It's my go-to whenever I am craving Chinese food..which is surprising since this restaurant is entirely vegetarian (surprise, surprise). Their menu is pretty extensive but my staples have always been the shark fin soup, salt and pepper pumpkin, and sesame chicken & brocolli. This place exceeded my expectations. It is very clean. The dining room has a lot of tables and is very simple but well-maintained. The menu is extensive. I mean pages and pages of options with pictures. Everything sounded so good! I love all the vegan and vegetarian options. I tried the salt and pepper pumpkin which was delicious. The pumpkin is battered and seasoned well. I also had the veggie soup with sizzling fried rice. It was soothing. I couldn't finish my meal so had leftovers. They don't cook with onion or garlic (I love both) but I didn't miss them in the dishes I ordered. Service was prompt and the food came out very fast.
