I've been here twice now with a vegan friend. First time I had the breakfast burrito and the second time I had the vegan crunch wrap thing which is AWESOME. I am going to go back just for that thing, it's seriously so good (and I am not vegan). The concha's was really good as well. A friend of ours had the Loaded Fries, which also looked awesome. I would 100% recommend this place. The service was friendly and helpful, fully willing to explain to my non-vegan self what the different proteins were like texture wise, etc. It's a cute spot with a laid-back and friendly atmosphere. Vegos is such a great place that I would definitely love to visit again. I honestly checked out Vegos because I was meeting up with a friend who is a vegan...so...to make sure I'm accommodating my friend, I suggested we meet at Vegos. And as it turned out..I may have loved the food even more than my friend did! What I loved was that the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Food was fresh and there were many options to pick from. My friend had enchilada and I had stuffed sopapilla and al Fresca (strawberry and orange) and my friend and I finished the whole thing (well my friend had some left over of a side he had...but I ate all of whatever was on the plate!!)! It was so refreshing and it made you feel great after eating the meal. I love that the environment was casual and even though we finished our meal already we didn't feel like we were unwelcome by the staff at all. We were able to stay 2+ hours catching up and doing our things..and the staff didn't make it feel like we had to leave at all. Thank you. Overall, I would love to stop by this place again. Livin la vida tofu indeed! Vegos has such scrumptious food that it will convert even the most staunch meat-eaters. We had a few different items, all of which were just as good as before. I am an omnivore and even the most cheesy chile rellenos pale in comparison to Vegos. By far the best chile relleno I've ever had! The spicy tofu tenders have a nice kick and a great umami flavor. The folks at the counter were friendly and very accommodating to my special needs family member. Inside is a cute spot that is a much better space than their old location on carlisle. I appreciate that both the NCMC and Vegos brands are under one roof because it diversifies the menu. This is the best vegetarian/vegan restaurants, not only in ABQ but arguably in the country. We've gone to Vegos a couple of times, and really love it. The first time, I had a Loco Tostarito and my wife had Stuffed Sopapilla. We've also tried the Empanadas, elotes, and El Jefe Burrito. Have wanted to try this place out for a long time and stopped a short few weeks ago at the Carlisle location to find they moved so googled the new place and found it. Loved the diner vibe. Not sure what the building was before but they did a great job. We got two different things and shared - I got the "chicken" sandwich and she got the enchilada - we also got an order of fries (regular, not sweet potato) with dipping sauce. Everything (except the fries and my iced tea) was way out in left field AWESOME) We both were bonkers for the sandwich - one of the best sandwiches ever!!! The enchilada plate was great too. Wife got a coke and I got iced tea - was not crazy for the iced tea - very weak. On the fries I would guess they were not hand cut but frozen? I am not a vegan. Many of my friends and colleagues do lean that way. I find Vegos to be a decent place for lunch meetings with folx who need plant- based meals. The seitan Philly cheez steak is yummy, as is the fried soy curls Po'boy and the NCMC Sando. I eat both of the former with knife and fork. I also like the elote.My colleagues have enjoyed the chile relleno, the breakfast burrito, and the Bosque burrito. We all agree we'll keep coming back. Lunch is busy. There is a bare bones patio. Delicious New Mexican cuisine that is 100% vegan! This is a casual little spot with an awesome menu full of New Mexican classics like enchiladas, burritos, sopapillas, chile rellenos, and more. If we could do half stars I would give this place 3.5 stars! I gave it 4 because i think it's better than 3. It was pretty delicious but some things could be better. The queso for the chips and queso has no taste unfortunately. There's basically zero taste. The chips are very salty which kind of makes up for it but it needs way more. The sandia burrito is very good, but everything in the burrito is not very spread out at all, so you will be eating just rice or just sauce etc for awhile until you reach everything in the burrito. Forgive the half eaten entrees, but we couldn't help but dig in and taste the amazing-ness Vegos had to offer!!! By now you get that this is a vegan restaurant. But does it pause on flavor?! Heck to the no! If someone blindfolded me and told me to eat this, I would have zero idea it was vegan. Recently went on a spin around multi territories and found myself crossing through Albuquerque. This place fell on the radar and decided to give it a go! Establishment was so off the charts that on the route back it required a second stop. First visit I decided to keep it simple with the "Seitan" burrito. Include was seitan, Spanish rice, pinto beans, chile, lettuce, tomato, and onion. This item was large and all the ingredients super fresh. This experience demanded a second visit, but this time I need to step up my item selection. This round I decided to roll with the "El Jefe" burrito and this was best decision on my part. Filled with red chile jackfruit, Spanish rice, pinto beans, potatoes, Queso, chile, lettuce, tomato, and onion. All the fillings complimented each other, fresh veggies, cutting edge flavor, and turns out to be the most rememberable burrito in my career. So light and fresh. The churro hit just the spot and was not too sweet. If you're looking for fresh, healthy food this is THE place to go. Great taste too. Customer service is also great. They give you a huge glass of water and come by to check on you very often. Also very helpful when deciding what to get. It is a small store and there are not a lot of places to sit, but I did not find that to be an issue unless it was really busy. Super quick service too. read more

I mean the hatch chilies are incredible. That's where it ends. It was overpriced and just not that tasty. The marinate their vegan meats in authentic Mexican marinates such as al pastor, carne asada, birria. Vegos is a pop up New Mexican food cart that appears in different locations around Albuquerque. They advertise themselves at 100% vegan 110% deliciousness. So when I was in Albuquerque they happened to be at a brewery I was visiting called Gravity Bound which by the way I definitely recommend if you like well-made local beers. I arrived at the brewery at like 5 pm and as I approached this little cart, I saw the menu posted to the window with all of these yellow X's through almost all of the dishes. I was about to do baby pouts thinking wondering how the H' a pop up especially a vegan one can be so popular that they would sell out of everything at 5pm. Some lady in front of me was ordering and ordering and I'm thinking to myself is this the latest in TP like hording going on in NM:( Well thank God when I got to the front of the line the owners behind the cart basically said they were in the process of making more of things and that the menu would open back up for more items if I could patiently wait. I'm like no problem I have a whole beer menu to work through so I'll be back. Once those X's got removed, I jumped back in line to try out these New Mexican tasty treats. I knew I had to get the Posole Soup as I have always been a fan and never had a version with jackfruit so had to try that out. Also got their Hatch Green Chile Burrito which had pintos, seasoned potatoes avocado and of course the green chilies. Finally, I had to try their Jackfruit tamale to go. Salsa here is not included so I had to get a container of that also for a small up charge. Food was all absolutely delicious. The burrito as Epic with the green chilies, the tamale was so fresh and the jackfruit was no canned garbage and spliced well. The posole could have been spicier but was still very tasty are warming and the corn was very tender which is not always normally the case with posole. I saved some to go and had it later and it actually tasted even better as the flavors all melded together. Overall was super happy to have been able to try this pop up. I happen to have good luck both running into the place and having them re open up some of the sold out menu items again making more of the goods for those in pout mode. Thank You Thank You. How this place has such high ratings, I just do not know? The food was beyond just basic, nothing to open a restaurant for. It was 2:30pm and they were still serving breakfast items, and none of the "New Mexican" options that were advertised on the menu. They had an extremely limited picking for anything other than a potato burrito. The items we ended up with came out to $60 for a fake chicken sandwich, a fake beef burrito, and two fake fresca drinks. It was edible, but not $60 worth of anything that was consumed. The cashier was horrible, and had zero personality. Zero words. She mumbled basic commands and honestly did not even deserve the 15% tip I felt obligated to give. I usually try to leave 25% of my tab for the workers, but lowered it to just 15%- In all honestly, I was bugged to even dole out that. The food wasn't even healthy... like at all. Just literally go to any other resturant within 100 mile radius of this one, and you'll probably get the same, if not better then what I just paid for. Seriously go to Taco Bell and get a "Vegan" bean burrito. The resturant itself was as lame and generic as they come. Horrible location, horrible seating, horrible space all around. Lame AF. Im sorry, I feel the people who are about this place, seriously must have gotten their taste buds stripped from Covid. It was seriously about as basic as food gets. Great little restaurant in a strip mall. I had the seitan burrito and it was excellent. Fresh and tasty wrap, pinto beans, lettuce and the seitan. It's huge though so I was able to get 2 meals out of it. French fries were ok, a bit limp. Staff is incredibly kind and ran our food to us in the car. I really wanted to love this place since there are so few vegan restaurants in Abq. I ordered the Burque burrito to go. When I got home I weighed the burrito and it was a whopping 1 lb 1.5 ounces. The inside of the burrito was mainly stuffed with chunks of potatoes, there was just a tiny amount of whole beans, and a decent amount of avocado. Sadly most of the avocado was an unappetizing brown color. The potatoes were flavorless except for the overwhelming salt! My favorite part of a burrito is the whole beans but the amount was probably a couple of tablespoons and I was so disappointed. There was no visible chile or sauce even though I had asked for green chile. With the extreme amount of salt in this burrito is was completely inedible and sadly I had to throw it out and find something else at home to have for dinner. I might try Vegos again since the other items on the menu did look good but I hesitate since I'm not a big fan of over salted food. read more

So I happened upon this spot out in the Q! Or ABQ or what I like to refer to as Alber-Dirty because of all of the dirt, rock, and mountains. Anywho...VEGOS! So I tried their NCMC, Nobody Calls Me Chicken sandwich and it was pretty good. Actually reminded me of the Chik'n from Slutty Vegan. I had it with fries and a Strawberry Fresca. The Fresca was awesome and the fries were old school joints that you might find at a burger stand back in the day. I give them my stamp of approval and will return to try their Philly!
