The lines speak for themselves and nobody comes out without a scoop of gelato. It is just so fresh and insane chocolatey flavors. Loved how thick the gelato was. It took us a full 20 mins to get the cup but was definitely worth it. read more

The guy working the register with glasses was really rude. Supposedly you only order the size with him and then the flavors with the people that serve you. Although he never told us that until he got annoyed we kept giving him flavors. Being our first time there we had no idea the appropriate way to order. Then he got frustrated because the line wasn't moving down but the people servicing couldn't keep up him because they were also handling people that were buying candy. I wouldn't go back. read more

I visited one the other day. It was amazing inside with Lots of chocolate varieties. Staff were very helpful and tries few gelatos . Now to taste, I wasn't really thrilled with there chocolates and gelatos. I thought they wee so-so, but pricey. Will i visit again, probably not. To be honest , I prefer British chocolates like Cadbury, Aeros and Crunchies. I saw mostly tourist In stores. read more

Got the regular sized gelato in a cup with pistachio and chocolate chip (I asked for tiramisu but I think she misheard and I didn't realize till I ate it). They also add a cute little chocolate piece into your ice cream. Since we went to a few places that day for food, the regular was actually a bit big and sugar overload for me. Mediocre gelato for the price.. tasty enough to eat the whole cone, but was not worth the price at all. We also waited in line for 20 minutes. More than anything I loved how decorated the little shop is, it's super cute to look at and take pictures with, and it's right by Central Park. A little pricey $8 for a small (2 scoops of gelato). My husband and I both got the mango, sooo good. I also got the raspberry and he got the strawberry. I think the strawberry was the better (sweeter) choice. Considering we paid $6 a plain small chocolate soft serve for my daughter from an ice cream truck earlier, I would def. choose here instead! read more

We didn't even order all we did was walk in and the lady in the back told us move forward and got mad at us because we were looking and didn't know what we wanted yet. The guy in the glasses at the register noticed her being rude and just ignored his coworker and tried to help us but I didn't want to order anything after she gave us all that attitude. Yummy gelato right next to the park! I pass Venchi every day (sometimes multiple times a day) and I finally stopped in on Friday to try their gelato. I got the hazelnut and pistachio on a cone (dipped in chocolate with crushed hazelnuts ) and it was so creamy and nutty and delicious. I now look longingly over every time I pass by. read more

So, I went twice. It was a place to try and I wanted authentic gelato. The first time I spoke to a nice venchi worker outside and the advice was spot on-- and once I made it through the line the whole process was efficient. The gelato was first rate and I went for the large cup. Left saying this was special. Came back for a repeat. Can tell you the quality of the gelato was still first rate. Terrible service. My husband and I were first in line for ice cream when the cashier chose to skip us and assist the customer behind us. After I pointed out that we were first in line, she neither apologized nor corrected her mistake but insisted on helping the customer behind us. We were left standing there, unassisted. This location has soft serve ice cream and chocolate. The store is very small and the line forms outside of the store. They have a variety flavor of ice cream. Pistachio flavor is good, tiramisu is fantastic, vanilla is bit too sweet. For the chocolate, it's $11.50 per pound with a good selection! The gelato is on the sweet side and lines in certain locations get ridiculously long. Bench I has the standard flavors and the take out containers are great for taking a pint home. If in the W Village though, my go to is Galetaria Gentile. Probably the best gelato I've had outside of Italy! read more

The truffles were unimpressive. Chalky and stale. I ended up throwing them away after spending $50 on chocolates. The bars were better. even though I'm not a fan of white chocolate, I did like the pistachio but wish they would do it in a dark or milk chocolate. The fondant chocolate bar that they gave me because I bought three bars is way too chalky. It was 75% bitter sweet. No Bueno. read more

My family only wants gelato and is very picky about the quality. This is some of the best we have ever had. We will come back to NYC just for this gelato. The flavor and texture is the real deal. It was one of those days when you crave ice cream even though it is cold outside. We came into the empty store; 2 people were behind the counter. I paid and asked for the popular Cremino flavor. The tray of the ice cream was new, almost untouched, and in one corner, there was a scoop of leftover ice cream from the previous tray. The leftover was looking very yellowish and not fresh. As soon as I paid, the lady took exactly the leftover ice cream and put it in my cup. I asked her if she could give me fresh ice cream, not the leftover. The moment I asked, she started talking to me with an absolutely nasty attitude that by no means is it possible for her to leave leftover and give me a scoop of fresh ice cream. After I tried to ask again, she turned into screaming at me and literally said that either I was getting leftovers or nothing at all!!! To say that I was shocked is to say nothing. Her name is JOANNA. After her reply, I asked for a refund, and she kept yelling and arguing the whole time her co-worker was giving me a refund. Another IMPORTANT part, if you ever ask for a refund here, pay attention! Because once the transaction got canceled, they never returned the TIP money I added to the total price. Even if the tip money was small, I did not want to leave a tip for being YELLED AND DISRESPECTED, and I ended up getting the total amount in cash! Thanks to her co-worker (or manager), I was not sure. The place is amazing, chocolate and ice cream delicious, but workers like JOANNA will scare away any customers in winter or summertime! I had a truly terrible experience at this store which I used to frequent all of the time. Part of the shelving unit in the store was broken and my leg was injured and my new coat tore on a sharp piece of metal. When bringing this to the managers attention, I was dismissed and treated horribly. I have been pressing the company to acknowledge this incident and the fact that their store is negligent on customer safety but they cannot be bothered. I had a torn up leg and now have ruined coat because of their falling apart store. Shame on them for their greed and carelessness. I won't be back. Ever. read more

Supposedly it has its origins in the cuisine of the Italian city Naples and the Neapolitan immigrants who brought spumoni to the U.S. Spumoni is an Italian dessert that uses three different flavored (vanilla, cherry, and pistachio) layers of ice cream that resemble the Italian flag. Americans would put their own spin on it by replacing the cherry with strawberry and the pistachio with chocolate. Moving back to the NWC truffles, the outer shell is comprised of a smooth and creamy white chocolate infused with strawberry, while the equally smooth core is a melty milk chocolate and white chocolate truffle. Although Neapolitan is not a favorite ice cream of mine (fruity ice cream is not my thing), Lindt absolutely nails it with all three flavors clearly coming through. Like all the other truffles I've tried from Lindt, the texture is phenomenal. I was a bit skeptical going into this one and only picked these up out of curiosity when I spotted them on clearance. I am a devotee of dark chocolate, and have tried every dark offering it has. That said, my personal favorite is the Anastasia, a hazelnut and dark praline enrobed in dark chocolate. It is exquisite. Service is always excellent. I've ordered in person and over the phone, and have always been so pleased with the staff. The website is helpful when ordering a variety, but if you'd like an entire box of Anastasia, for example, you have to call the Rockefeller Center store and place the order by phone. They ship once a week, and I always have my box fairly quickly. Boxes make terrific gifts ... including for yourself. If you're walking in, I recommend sitting down to enjoy a few pieces of chocolate, then taking the rest in a box with you. There is a cozy but comfortable seating area in the back just for this. This area is also an ideal place to enjoy some of their drinking chocolate. Highly, highly recommend.

The total came to about $17, including tax and tip. The burger was delicious. Smash burgers are my favorite, and this one was cooked perfectly with crispy edges while still moist. I also really appreciate that they offer a gluten-free bun. The burger and fries were a satisfying portion without feeling overly heavy. This is a casual spot, but it consistently delivers delicious food at a reasonable price. If you are looking for a classic smash burger in the neighborhood, I would recommend. I was really disappointed with my recent visit to Venchi. My friend ordered vanilla ice cream and it was cross-contaminated with nuts, which is a serious concern for anyone with allergies. On top of that, the staff gave us a nasty look when we mentioned it. To make matters worse, you really need to double-check your receipt -- we noticed overcharges that should never have happened. It isn't bad gelato and sorbet, it's just not as good as the others. Venchi is the tourist version of Amareno (which is international), the flavors are not "bad", but too sugary, and not as good. The prices are insane, $10 for 3 scoop cup, it's too much for too little. If it was the only gelato and sorbet place in Manhattan, then it would get 4 stars. read more
