No.. No no. Bad service and good food. Probably 2 stars but rudeness intolerable. Instead of apologizing the waiter must have said "it is what it is" at least a half dozen times. One of my favorite quotes is now gone forever. They served a salad with a vinaigrette dressing that has no vinegar in it? When questioned about it we were told "that is just how we do it here" and "it is what it is". After the salad was 90% finished they came back and offered to make a new one.... That should've been the original answer, or at the very least bought one of the cups of coffee for us at the end of the night.... Ridiculous read more

Nice view of Atlantic Avenue from their Sky Bar is a great selling point. The food is solid and the menu has many choices. I had the chicken parm which was good, not the best I've had, but good. Drinks are excellent, and the portions are generous. Definitely a good place for date night or family night. read more

Sad to say they must have changed chefs. We have been coming here yearly for about 10 years and this is the 1st year I would never recommend to anyone. Service was no where to be found after our order was taken and delivered. Food was cold or at best warm. The costly specials were over cooked and burnt (Lobster scampi no garlic at all. Stuffed Lobster tail burnt to a crisp) We would have complained but as I said waitress didn't return. Two other tables near us were having similar issues. Will not be back sad to say. read more

It looks like a hotel with limited parking but there is a ton of parking in the back! We had dinner at the lounge and then the sky bar for drinks after. We started with the oysters which my boyfriend really liked then I got the chicken parm and he ordered the linguine and clams. My entree was awesome, fresh chicken and great sauce. His clams and pasta he never stopped raving about. The sky bar had good raspberry cosmopolitans and was a sports bar atmosphere. Our waitress (petite blond) did not catch her name was very personable and accommodating. I checked into restaurant and brought up $1 per oyster coupon on Yelp site. She showed her manager and it was declined. Price was$1.50 after 6. No time is stated on coupon however so I would suggest fixing that. Food was good and portions large. I eat there about once a week or so ...generally eat at the bar, not the restaurant. Some things better than others on the menu, but they have just rolled out a new menu ... I have taken friends here and all has been good ... Recently tried dish with chicken , asparagus and prosciutto... new on the menu. My family & I ate here for the first time, our server Anne was sooo polite & friendly, she treated my family as if we were her family. My kids joked around with her, she even got my son to eat veggies, he hates veggies! My husband & I were shocked! My favorite dish that Anne suggested was the lobster scampi; i usually wouldve ordered the shrimp scampi...im glad i listened! If I had a time machine, and were only able to use it once, I would go back in time just to read the reviews of this awful restaurant just so I could stay away. We ordered the lobster roll, which was caked in so much mayo that we couldn't taste the actual lobster. We then got our main course, lobster scampi, and the New York steak. The New York was hardly seasoned, if at all. Chewy, and overcooked. Ordered rare, came out medium. They also put lovely frozen carrots to go with the 35 dollar steak dish. The scampi however, was so utterly repulsive my girlfriend took a single bit of the lobster, and knew that if she ate more, she'd be sick. The scallops, and shrimp felt cold on the inside, and mushy on the outside. The seafood at this restaurant is best compared to the aftertaste of moldy bread. We immediately pushed our dishes aside and expressed our complaints with our lovely server John, and Sarah. They were awesome. We really like John and Sarah, well mannered, talented people. I'm happy John is going to school in a week, and won't be stuck working under god awful management. Speaking of god awful management, whoever the egotistical manager is that doesn't know how to operate a dinning room on a slow day is, didn't want to take the time to hear our complaints. We eventually were able to get him to our table after the servers tried to get him themselves. The manager refused to comp the meals. Please, do yourselves and your stomachs a favor, and stay as far away from this restaurant as possible. The seafood will make you sick, my girlfriend was up all night with food poisoning. And again, John and Sara, y'all are awesome. The review several down from mine, by the previous employee I'm sure is true, and the owner is trying to cover his ass. We had a sit down dinner and the table was sticky. The utensils stuck to the table - Needed a table cloth in a bad way. Clams casino had little to no clams all stuffing, totally bush league... My fiance and I had dinner in the sky box for valentines day. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was great. I think her name was Kristy. All the food was delicious. Eat here several times. The determining factor for your experience? Are they busy. If it's dead, service is attentive and the food quality is fairly good. If it's busy? Go elsewhere. It's apparent from the staff stress level and their own comments that there are management issues, or lack thereof. Eat there tonight and waited 30 minutes for anyone to even approach our table with menus or to take a drink order. An additional 25 minutes after that to get said drinks and place a dinner order. When the food came nearly an hour later, the orders were wrong. Prime rib special ordered well done came out raw, with the re-fired prime rib never making it back out to the table before we left nearly 40 minutes later - they admitted when we left that they lost the ticket to re-fire the entree. After several requests to speak with the owner or manager, he hid in the kitchen and couldn't be bothered. When a dinner for 4 guests will easily run you between $150-200, that's not really an acceptable response. This place needs capable management and servers that can handle a busy service. If it's quiet you're all set, if you see a full parking lot then save yourself some frustration and take your money elsewhere for an experience worthy of that price point. I took my parents to the Mother's Day brunch buffet, and for the price of $29.95 (although mimosas were an additional $7.00 each), it was a great deal. The service was excellent and the food was good. The buffet was staged in the ballroom which seemed sort of like a church supper, but not terrible. There was a carving station - stuffed roasted pork loin with a delicious, garlicky stuffing (pork was a little dry) and tasty roast prime rib. Sauces available were au jus, horseradish and a cream sauce. There was an omelette station and some basic breakfast staples such as french toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, muffins and pastry. We didn't try the omelette, but the eggs were watery and sausage dry. There was an adequate salad station with a tasty peppercorn ranch sauce. The marinated mushrooms and artichokes were good. There were three entrees: shrimp scampi (the shrimp were fairly large but the dish was less flavorful than expected), cod with Bearnaise sauce which was very tasty, and chicken/prosciutto/asparagus which was good. There were also sauteed vegetables and then a very modest dessert selection. read more

So we decided to eat at Venice last night, and I've got to say that was the very worst meal and service I've had in a long time. First off it took like 15 minutes for our sever to even come to the table (and they weren't even busy), then ordered drinks and waited what seemed like forever to get them. We ordered apps and the clams on the half shell weren't even shucked right and was all stuck to the shell. We also ordered clams casino and stuffed mushrooms which both came out ice cold and the mushrooms were so burnt and dry so I asked for some drawn butter because I really didn't want to complain and the butter they gave me was cold....like really!!! Now it came to our meal my husbands stuffed shrimp were pretty good but my veal franchise was so over cooked I couldn't even eat it, and then I decided to say something to our server Susan H and she was sooooo rude to us, and pretty much rude throughout the whole dining experience and we never got compensated for any of our horrible meal. I would seriously think twice before wasting your money on this place, our bill was $153 and like I said wasn't even compensated for anything. This place will absolutely be the worst place I've ever eaten in and I will never ever set foot back in that place again!! read more

Came to Venice on a recommendation--and I think they must've been drunk when dining here because this restaurant is beyond sucky. Place was pretty dead--we should have taken that as a sign. Started with calamari. Unfortunately, it was gross. I ate one ring and was done. It was sitting in water, totally soggy. Breading was falling off. Reminded me of microwaved frozen fish sticks. Ew. My bf ate it, flavor was ok for him (and he was starving.) Then came the meals: homemade ravioli and shrimp scampi. My ravioli were not cooked properly-- rubbery edges and mushy centers. Red sauce had no flavor. My boyfriend's scampi was the crowning disaster: 2 shrimp were not cleaned and tasted, "like feet." Sauce was flavorless, sans the feet taste. It was so bad, he made himself well...revisit the dish in the restaurant bathroom on our way out to hopefully ward off any food poisoning (still pending on that front, as I'm typing this as we leave.) The single star is for the nice staff but good God fire your chef. Side note: cell reception is basically nonexistent Second note: After reading these reviews, looks like it all has gone downhill since a new chef has taken over? (After my rec visited Westerly.) Go for the view from the sky bar but don't expect great service. 4 adults and an almost six year old child waited almost an hour for our entrees to arrive. The child's pasta was cold as were 3 of the 4 adult entrees. The waitress never came to say how long it would be or to explain the situation. If we hadn't had the child with us we would have left after waiting 30 minutes. Food was average. We won't be returning. read more

We were very hungry after a long family run, and we ended up here. It was none too cheap or expensive, right in the middle. The service was just okay and the food was pleasant. We sat in the Sky Lounge which had a great view and had a (nice) pub-sorta feel. There was a bar and an old-fashioned jukebox, which seemed out of place but was charming and worked just fine. The food came in huge portions, with me getting a huge slab of chicken Parmesan and my brother a whole pizza. The chicken parm was average and the pizza was tasty. My mother had a tomato and mozzarella salad which had big, juicy tomatoes and according to my mother, delicious. My dad ordered cod which, in his own words, was "surprising. It wasn't any worse than your average cod. Pretty good for an Italian place." He also enjoyed a "loaded" baked potato which was enjoyable but hardly loaded. Overall, this wouldn't be the first Italian place in westerly I'd recommend (let's face it, there are approx. 8,000.) but it served it purpose just fine. read more

This review is for the Skyview Lounge that we visited on a recent Saturday afternoon after checking in to a motel nearby. Our group of eight was the only party except for a lone person at the bar; it's January in Westerly so this wasn't a huge surprise. The bartender was friendly and efficient. The lounge had appetizers (bar bites) for great prices. We had an assortment of the apps including meatball sliders (excellent), potato skins (average) and french fries which tasted like fresh cut. Drink prices were reasonable, too. The best part though is the view. From our window seats at the top of the building, we looked out on a salt marsh and beyond that, Atlantic Avenue (Misquamicut) and the Atlantic. We were planning on returning at midnight for a night cap but the place was dark and locked up tight even though we were told they'd be open until 1 a.m. No one was surprised - it is a ghost town in January in Misquamicut. I'd love to return in the summer. read more

The food here is seriously unbelievable! Everything was delicious. We were staying in Watch Hill for the weekend and ventured out here - totally worth the drive. We had the eggplant app (BEST EVER!) and mussels, for my meal I had the Cavatelli bolognese. It was super busy so service was a little bit slow (mostly from the bar, food was fine) , but we're on vacation so we were totally patient! Our server Lou happened to be working downstairs in the bar area which I later found out was a rare occurrence but my friend and I were thrilled to have him as our server. What a class act!! He made a wonderful wine suggestion 'Rascal' that was delicious. My friend and I were craving seafood and found Venice Restaurant randomly online. Full belly clams, calamari, oysters, shrimp cocktail - you name it, we ate it!!!! We ordered nearly everything on the menu including TWO PIZZAS TO-GO after we ate! HAHA! That is how good the food was --- I needed to bring a taste of it home to my husband who totally missed out! Highly recommend this hidden gem. Fantastic! read more

Unfortunately our visit was terrible. We were 1/2 hr early for our reservation, so we had a drink at the bar. Everything was great on that side. We went to be sat and it took 20 minutes for a waitress to take our drinks (we requested 2x). We ordered food which took 45 minutes to be served. The table next to us was loudly playing music on their phone and talking over it. Instead of address it, the waitress said "look at you guys,you're having your own party over here". She apologized to each of the six tables in her section repeatedly for length of time waiting for everything. I had the bolognese. It was just a tomato sauce with a little meat. We visited this venue today. The hostess was pleasant and the atmosphere was relaxing. We ordered the shrimp cob salad to start and it was wonderful. The main meals were veal picata over linguine and prime rib with baked potato and mixed vegetables. The dishes were seasoned and cooked perfectly with a nice presentation. The cost was similar to other local venues serving similar dishes. Plenty of parking. Nice size bar with plenty of seating. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. My wife and I dined at Venice on a Friday night in December. Loved the atmosphere of the bar upstairs. Kristi the bartender, was very attentive and offered some great menu suggestions.
