I really enjoyed Verde The first time you visit can be a little bit confusing. Eating at Verde's pretty similar to eating at chipotle or Subway. They have all the ingredients laid out in front of you and you make your choices. To begin you select either salad or wrap and then you choose your lettuce and other ingredients. After all your ingredients of selected they chop up the salad and you can either put in a bowl or a whole wheat wrap. In addition, they also have their own soda, tea and other drinks. I would like to of seen this a little bit less price point because 9/10 for salad is up there. The Decour and seating is great they even have a bar style seat. Ok we all know a salad is like the last thing you get excited about but HONESTLY ,TRUELY Verde puts the joy in salads for me !! They're huge !! And I can design it exactly how I want it or pick from their already fabulous menu! You see the ingredients right in front of you which is something nice that you don't get everywhere. The locations downtown and in west Ashley both have wonderful staff! Prices start around 8 bucks so it's fairly reasonable especially for the size of the salad you can order online and it's very user friendly! All you do is walk into the location you ordered from and pick up your order from the "to go" shelf so minimal human contact there! Two things I absolutely have to recommend is the Vegan oatmeal cookie (yassss Vegan!!!!!) and the cherry soda from the fountain! The cookie is amazing you'd never know it was vegan ! While cruising through Avondale, I was attracted to the open parking space in front of Verde, something that you don't see very often in Avondale, and so I decided to stop in for an early lunch. Verde, for those of you who don't know, serves salads. Lots and lots of salads. Salads in bowls, salads in wraps, salads of all shapes and sizes. The guy at the register welcomed me in, and the people behind the counter also were very friendly. The menu, located near the ceiling, gives you many choices of predetermined salads with fancy names, or you can choose your own adventure and building one yourself. There's a whole wall dedicated just to leafy greens. I went with the April Salad, honestly, because it's April ... no joke. I was pleasantly surprised that it was awesome, and even though the bowl is wicked huge, I ate 90% of it before going back to work. They'll even enthusiastically chop it for you if you're into that kind of thing. As much as I would love to have added some bacon, chicken, steak, or other meat product to my salad, it really wasn't necessary, and I left completely satisfied with my investment. They gave me a salad card on the way out and stamped it, so the next time I feel like indulging in my healthy side, I can get rewarded after frequent purchases. read more

This is probably the driest salad I have yet to taste. Customer service was great but the food tasted like it should be in a pig trough. Salad was also $12 and threw it away as soon as I got a taste. So upset. If looking for a good salad place, deff go to caviar and bananas. read more

Concept is good, but for a salad joint it's not clean and if you order on the app, it's rare if they get your order right. (Wrong dressing, wrong lettuce, mixed sloppy). They include agave syrup, which is close to high fructose corn syrup and oils such as canola and sunflower seed oil which isn't doing anyone any favors. Good location, great for lunch. Verde is a chain salad restaurant with a few locations around the area. They offer make your own salads and you can turn your salad into a wrap too. You can also choose from their predetermined salads for a set price. It's always fresh and delicious, I usually just make my own because it's easy enough. The only con is the unfortunate parking situation in Avondale in the evenings. Makes coming here a pain sometimes but it's not too terrible. The first day we arrived in Charleston we wanted an early light dinner. We wondered into Verde and found just what we were looking for. I ordered the big poppy salad. It was large, fresh and delicious! They did serve it with a piece of bread, which was very dry. I didn't eat it. My date ordered the lentil wrap. It was filling and very tasty. I sipped on the cider chai tea and it was heavenly. My actual rating is 4.5 stars due to the lousy bread. I definitely want to eat here again! read more

Yay for healthy options! Seriously, I was so nervous moving to the south that I would be surrounded by everything fried and buttered, so I am so happy to have this place in the neighborhood. My first time there I felt the staff could have been a little more helpful about explaining how the ordering process works. I also don't like when salads are absolutely doused in dressings (kind of defeats the whole purpose) so on my next visit I'll be sure to ask for half a serving or maybe just on the side...those were pretty much my only complaints. WOW. This was my third visit to Verde, and this time I brought a group of five with me. Everyone was so impressed with their salads! We especially loved the sweet tea vinaigrette and the Kale Caesar salad. The Boylan soda fountain offered several delicious and unique drink options. Our only complaint was that they ran out of bread at around 11:00. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious lunch that won't weigh you down. read more

I've been to Verde a few times, and until today was very underwhelmed by it. I have tried it over the years but never felt like I needed to go back. I went today for lunch for the first time in probably at least a year because I was seriously craving a salad after all the gluttony from the holiday's. I got myself a seasonal salad, which had Power Grains + Mesclun and Baby Spinach, Bacon, Apples, Caramelized Onion, and Goat Cheese with Apple Cinnamon Vinaigrette. I also got a Buffalo Caulipower for my boyfriend in wrap form. Wow. My opinion of this place did a complete 180. Both the salad and the wrap were spectacular. Large, filling size. Ample, fresh ingredients. And the perfect balance on all ends of the flavor spectrum. I am sure all the locations have a standard, but I am reviewing this location specifically as it is the one I ordered from today. I will be going back, especially with their newly updated menu. Ate here recently with my husband for a quick and light dinner. Since it was our first time, we were somewhat overwhelmed by the options, but decided on signature salad creations eventually. Our server/food-preparer admitted to being slightly new at the job and it showed... he nervously prepared our salads and it took about 10 minutes before we were able to sit down and eat. All in all, food was delicious and loved the Boylan fountain soda. We noticed a line had formed after we had sat down which moved VERY slowly.
