Ok, I'm almost officially over this place. Today, went to pick up a to go order for work. Asked them to please write the names of the wraps on the wraps so I don't have to disassemble them to see what is what. Well, you guessed it, they wrote the wrong info on the wraps so people bit in and, SURPRISE, not what you ordered. When I asked the young lady at the register to stamp my card, she stamped it once with barely looking up. Like I said, we ordered 5 different items. I love a good salad. Verde does good salads. They have great traditional salads and their seasonal salads and warm grain bowls are very good. This location seems to have an excess of lettuce versus ingredients used, so beware of that possibility. You can also get your salad in a wrap if you want a more substantial meal. I am all about some Verde salads! When I learned they had an Avondale location, I was so happy. Delicious, fresh and great staff! Topping options were plentiful and so many yummy drinks. Their staff was great. They cleared our table for us when we were done and checked on us. The reason I took away a star: cramped and they didn't have some of the salads/toppings I wanted after browsing the website. And parking, like anywhere in Avondale, is a nightmare. They have 15m spots out front, but to sit down and eat you spend longer driving around looking for spots than you spend inside eating. I love verde and the salads are always delicious. Today though I placed an online order and arrived a few minutes after my time of pickup. My salad wasn't ready yet and that was no big deal. I gave them my name and my salad wasn't ready til 20 minutes later. In total 30 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. I love their Mesa Verde salad and substitute chicken for shrimp. This is the only salad I ever have with the dressing on it instead of on the side, it is delicious. I also like their Cobb salad, but I the Mesa Verde is what I get 9 times out of 10. I've had a few times where the salad hasn't been consistent (barely any shrimp or too little avocado or. not enough dressing). I don't always eat healthy, but when I do, it's probably at Verde. Verde makes eating salads significantly more fun because I can pack them full of exactly the things I like to eat. The salads are a bit pricey (with a drink and tip, I usually spend about $15 on lunch) but they're huge and I often end up having some leftover salad to use as a side dish at dinner. My favorite is the Mesa Verde (Romaine, Roasted Chicken, Grape Tomatoes, Red Onion, Avocado, Black Beans, Raw Corn, Fresh Cilantro, and Tortilla Strips with Chipotle Lime Vinaigrette, finished with a squeeze of fresh lime). It's super refreshing and has a great mix of flavors and textures. Whenever I make salads at home, I try to emulate this combo (although it's never as good as at Verde!). Also, after the recent E. Coli scares involving romaine, it's nice to know that Verde triple washes all their greens and veggies so that you get the cleanest (and safest) veggies. The West Ashley location is a bit small, but it's super convenient! read more

The first 2 times we ordered the lentil giant we had to return it b/c the lentils where under cooked. So my wife orders the lentil giant they run to the back nuke some undercooked lentils in the conventional oven serve them up and my wife consumes it. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and he guy making my salad was pretty helpful. I still hate that they Nicole and dime you for little bits of toppings if you want to customize in any way. Especially when you want something relatively inexpensive , such as the sunflower seeds which I wanted to add crunch. The only other complaint I had on my visit today was that nearly every table was dirty. I came in around 2 so I'm guessing the post lunch cleanup hadn't happened yet, but that's no excuse to make me wipe down my own table. I came in to verde tonight with a broken foot. I parked in the door dash parking spots because I was just exhausted beyond belief trying to use my crutches. Upon entering, I met Randy and team. Randy immediately asked if I was picking up Togo and I told him no, but asked him please don't make me move my car. He said he would never think of such a thing and told me to sit down and he would handle it from here. Randy and the staff prepared my three salads in a timely manner with incredible attitudes paired with wonderful conversation. I was then helped out to my incorrectly parked car by Randy. He carried my salads out, ensured I was able to get my crutches in the car, and that I was safely seated. What an incredible experience. I am beyond impressed with this team and will forever return. My salad was only 3/4 of the way full and by the time i was halfway done with it i had bit into two large chicken bones.

So...I know this is a salad and wrap spot... and is meant to be very healthy, which is what lured me there in the first place. But then I discovered... THE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. That are literally heaven. The best chocolate chip cookies ever. Which led me to the fountain drinks. Because if you give a mouse a cookie... They have Boylan's sodas on tap, house-brewed (locally sourced) iced teas, and an agua fresca that changes seasonally, but is consistently life-changing for your tastebuds. And don't even get me started on the salads and wraps. I mean, really... how do you choose between AMAZING and AWESOME!? I always end up standing there, starting up at the board, and being THAT annoying person in line who can't make up her mind, trying to choose one of their kick-butt combos of fresh ingredients that all sound so divine. And then I have to decide whether I want it in the form of a salad or a wrap... and that takes another few minutes... End of story is that you DEFINITELY need to visit one of Verde's locations here in Charleston, and it's pretty much impossible to be disappointed. You'll love it, and you may possibly plan lots of meetings here throughout the week, so that you'll never have to go a day without Verde in your life. I went to this location of Verde for the first time today and had an amazing experience. The customer service I received was excellent. There were about four people working and me and my mom were the only customers at that moment and every single person greeted us and was so attentive and friendly. They led us through the menu and ordering process and gave awesome recommendations and just made me happy to be there. It was honestly some of the best customer service I've gotten in a long time. I hate to give a low 2 star review, but let me explain. Firstly, I was really craving a salad, which is why I came here for the first time. The staff were very nice, and friendly. The menu is overwhelming with the choices. I decided to do the build your own. The ingredients were very fresh which was great! I got the grilled chicken and avocado in my salad, and a "bowl" of soup, along with a drink. All of this came to $22... outrageous for a salad, a soup, and a drink. They said the soup was not ready yet and would bring it out shortly. I got the creamy chicken and rice soup. The soup had great flavor, however it was clearly not a bowl. When I asked, "is this a bowl"? She said yea. What bothered me was that I knew she was lying. I knew this because the larger "bowl" was sitting right on the counter next to the "cup" size that I got. When I got the soup, she didn't give me a spoon, so she had to go get one. The container didn't feel hot so I put my finger in it, and it wasn't even warm. I advised her and she went and heated it up. Brought it back, and said it should be much hotter now. It was luke warm at best. I wasn't going to ask her to heat it up again, but this was disappointing. In addition, the chicken in the salad was nearly inedible. It was large chunks, but so dry that you needed some kind of liquid to dip it in. Between being lied to, the price of the food, the failed chicken, and the barely warm soup, I can't give this review anything higher than a 2 star read more
