Went to this store to upgrade three phones for my family. Have been a verizon wireless customer for 15 years and my current bill is over $250 month. They knew all that and still treated me poorly. I had to wait for someone to help me even though there were 6 ppl who worked there and only 4 customers. Plus they tell you that it only costs $99 to upgrade your phone and then when you check out they charge a separate $30 upgrade fee! When you complain they say that all the wireless companies do it. Does that make it right? It's deceitful. read more

morningside avenue in manhattan had to endure 3-5 years of torn up streets to accommodate VERIZON FIOS among other utilities the dust and noise was unbearable but was tolerated because we were told that fiber optics would give the area would benefit from the upgrade of services. well here it is years later and verizon will not install any service to the building in the very area the disrupted. they simply used manhattan ave to extend their service to higher income areas without any intention of giving this part of harlem long earned services. their constant excuse is landlords must give permission to install lines into buildings well this was done and still it has not resulted in any work done by FIOS. I was shocked at the level of customer service that I received from Edwin Gonzales, the manager at the Verizon Branch at 2239 Broadway. His representation as a manager for Verizon is unacceptable in both his sloppy appearance and rude attitude for any level of staff. Oscar was so helpful to me. After decreasing my plan fee based on my usage (without me even asking about it), he helped me select the right phone upgrade. Then, he spent almost half an hour showing me how to use my new iPhone (my first iPhone) and integrating the appropriate downloads/email. he was patient and super-kind on a day when it was busy and upper west side customers were cranky and complaining about the wait time. Worst experience ever with a Verizon store..l.I just waited for 30 minutes to exchange an unused iPhone case - having been told by the greeter that I could. Finally saw a salesperson who was about to ring up my exchange only to be told that since it was past the 14 days I couldn't exchange or return t. I asked to speak with the manager - who refused to come out and talk with me. The salesperson explained it was past his shift and no other manager was there to approve the exchange. And they seem annoyed if you complain instead of being solicitous and instead of compensating you for your time and frustration with their crappy company. This is a review of the store & Verizon Wireless as a whole Motorola Droid Pro - purchased December 29, 2010 Battery life The original battery is hopeless; I had to purchase an extra large battery and still the device must be charged three to four times a day. Which means when I leave the house I have to take the charger with me at all times which defeats the purpose of having a mobile hand held device (the iPhone with AT&T does not have this problem). And before you come back with Verizon has the most coverage in the US, that's not disputed; however, my family were smart and were early adopters re: iPhone and they've never had any problems with coverage, battery life, or their phones working when we get off the plane in other countries. OS upgrades Apparently the number for my device wasn't included in the last round of updates (for security features!) and I was told two different things by your organization. After being in the store for two hours your in store tech support spoke with Motorola and they said that they could do a push to my phone for the update. They said to wait 24 to 88 (??) hours for the push to come through. I did that and then called Motorola when it never happened. And they said the store should never have told you that since it's not possible. I then called Verizon tech support and they said the same thing. The only way to fix that problem is to do a factory reset which leaves me having to rebuild the whole desktop on the device and possibly losing information. Device USB port The USB port to charge the device has now become faulty. It barely holds the charger tip and sometimes the device charges and sometimes it doesn't. I treat my device with kid gloves so there is no reason other than the fact that the device must be constantly charged, so basically the USB has worn out less than six months after purchasing the device (this started about a month ago). Customer Service I've been a customer since the company was Bell Atlantic Mobile in 1990. I know your records don't go back that far, but there it is. I have had nothing but grief over the years in terms of customer service. Your company is great at apologizing, but terrible at follow-up and doing what you say you're going to do. Whether it's noting an account or delivering on a promise or merely following up with solutions. On Wednesday, July 6 I decided to give it one last ditch effort before approaching Mr Barish with this problem. The store manager Jeff Soto (2268 Broadway, NY) told me he would speak with his regional manager and call me by Friday, July 8 at the latest. He never followed up. I called him and e-mailed him twice, still no response. Today (Wednesday, August 2) I called and spoke with Jeff a supervisor in Chandler, AZ and the best he could do was take my complaint about Jeff Soto and give me a like device, which leaves me in the same position, having a device that doesn't work the way I need it to. My solution When I spoke with Jeff Soto my two solutions for him were a) allowing me out of my contract and b) changing to an iPhone at no charge. Jeff pointed out that your iPhone is still CDMA which defeats my purpose of being able to use it when I get off a plane in Europe. I was floored that you would put out a new device (for Verizon) and still only have it be available as CDMA. So the last option was a) allowing me out of my contract, which still leaves me out over $300 for the full purchase price. What are you going to do when Apple puts out the unlocked iPhone later this year / early next year? Again, unfortunately I never heard from Jeff. Verizon has proven time again (to me) that you don't have what I need to support my daily efforts. Whether it's devices or customer service. I'm exhausted by apologies that don't come with any resolutions that fall in my favor. You're a multi-billion dollar, multi-national company. I want out of my contract. read more

DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! I came in on a Thursday evening around 7:15, and walked up to the customer service desk. I stood there waiting for 10 minutes before someone asked if I was being helped. when I said "not yet sir, but I would like to be" he pointed me over to a different man, and told me to sign in. that would have been helpful to know I was supposed to sign in 10 minutes ago. meanwhile people that came in after me were already being helped. I signed in and waited ALMOST AN HOUR before being helped. I got my new (basic) phone in 8 minutes and was out. *the gentleman with the earrings who did process my transaction was patient, and understanding- the only redeeming quality of this place* after that.. I have been receiving ALMOST A DOZEN ADS on my phone in THE PAST 12 HOURS!!!! when I called the store and politely (and I do mean politely) asked if they could help me get the ads off- the man answering the phone VERY RUDELY told me to "hang up and call up billing". I was very puzzled by his lack of willingness to help, and his demeaning ARROGANCE. I stated in a confused, frank tone: "So, you'll put this S*** on my phone, but can't even help me take it off???" to which I got a snooty prick comment, which I typed below: "WHOAH WHOAH WHOAH. OKAY LADY - ONE! cursing is not acceptable! you need to not curse, cursing is not acceptable. TWO! I (with emphasis on the "i") didn't do anything to your phone and THREE!- you need to hang up and call billing!" I was freaking stunned at the fact that this employee had the audacity to berate ME, when all I was asking for WAS HELP. Note that I work in customer service at a retail company that delivers. I get cursed out every day -all day- by people who don't understand the mechanics and complexity of making, dispatching and delivering an order. So I did not approach this phone call with an air of pomposity, I did not blame the employee, or put fault to this unknown male who picked up the phone- I called up WANTING HELP!!! but this difficult employee DIDNT WANT TO HELP- all he wanted to do was hang up, and make himself feel bigger, by making me feel smaller. Being on the customer end of this transaction, I had only hoped to be treated with the same respect and human decency that I extend to my customers, and that I was showing the person on the other end of the phone. I will concede that perhaps the one curse I used was against his moral beliefs, and I can understand that may be offensive, however I believe context and tone of voice says a lot, and can imply a sarcastic but confused tone, or can imply a derogatory pervasive tone. This was NOT the latter, and I do hope the call was recorded for quality control. I am not writing this to satisfy my ego, nor to justify my using the word 'shit' in an exchange of words with another person. I'm writing this because it is an unacceptable way for an employee to act, and represent their company. If as a company you are trying to make, and then retain customers, you need to exercise patience, knowledge, and efficiency. Neither of these things were present when I was visiting the store, nor when I called on the phone. This was a truly disappointing experience- from the long wait just to be "helped", to the rudeness I received when calling the store for "help". If a company's employees act like the customers are BOTHERING them, simply by wanting to make a purchase, or asking for help with a purchase- why would customers want to shop there? why would I ever want to call or visit that store again? to be a glutton for punishment? Perhaps that was the implied meaning behind that employee's attitude- if I hate that store, and don't shop there- that is one less BOTHER for him to deal with. Less customers means less work to do, which then allows employees more time to get paid without working. I can see the logic in this method, and am appalled by it I really cannot express just how hurtful and disappointing this was. read more

Obnoxious experience. Waiting over 20 minutes and then being told by a sales rep, "Oh I was looking for you," when there are only about 10 people in the store, is a joke. The rep who helped me only cared about informing me how my phone I was upgrading to is obsolete, which I informed him I was aware of and simply am not of the finances to upgrade to anything more up to date. I was hustled at this store. Approximately 2 months ago I went in to upgrade my phone and informed employee Kawan Bush that I was currently unemployed and could not afford a significant increase in bill payments. He told me that for only $40 more I could get an iPad. I immediately asked him if I'd have to pay a monthly fee for it and he said no. I stressed that I couldn't afford to pay a monthly fee for the iPad and he reiterated that it was a one time payment of $40. He even went as far as to use my mothers birthday as a selling point. I purchased the iPad along with an iPhone 7and received a bill that was $273 in total including a $40 activation fee, plus a $30 monthly payment that I am locked in for 2 years. I pleaded with customer service over the phone and they took $200 off that bill but I was still locked in to the plan which I expressed I was not satisfied with. I went back to the verizon store and informed them I wanted to give back the iPad as it hadn't even been opened. I was told by supervisor Carmen Terrero that they would take off $260 off the entire payment , leaving me with $200 left on the plan. My girlfriend wanted to pay the remaining $200 right then and there and switch the pad into her name. We were told that could be done but we had to wait for the next billing cycle to do it. I received my next bill and again went to this verizon location with my girlfriend to do what they agreed upon and they refused me entirely. Supervisor Dawris Gomez was extremely rude and unprofessional in our interaction. She would not even contact Verizon Wireless' customer service to attempt to come to a resolution. I expressed to employee Ezra Charles that I felt hustled and felt it was extremely low of an employee to up-sell a customer when they were clear in telling you they had no source of income. Ezra was the only employee that seemed sympathetic and was trying to move towards resolution. I left there feeling taken advantage of. I called customer service the same day and spoke with a young lady by the name of Deidra. She was able to take off 6 months worth of payments from the iPad, still leaving me with a remainder of $300 plus to cover. I never really wanted the iPad, it is untouched and in perfect condition. Verizon will not take it back after giving false information pertaining to its price. My mother and myself have a family plan and have been with Verizon for approximately 15 years. We are seriously considering switching carriers as we feel unvalued and taken advantage of. read more

Took two hours and two trips and after all that, I find I way over-paid for the phone by hundreds of dollars (did research after bad experience) and will have to spend time going back to return the phone and start over with another company. I have been with Verizon for many years and because of the bad experience I had at this store, I am going to try another provider. Okay, so it's still a Verizon Wireless store. You have to wait in line. You have to deal with people who maybe can't help you until you get to the real tech support people. It takes time, it's best to just assume it's going to take a while and chill about it. I was there for 90 mins last week. In the end I left with a loaner phone (which they had no obligation to give me) and a new blackberry arriving the next day via overnight Fedex (despite being well past the cut off - it was 8pm!). My phone arrived the next day, I got it all set up and went back this store. The woman who helped me the day before recognized and gave me a big smile. She let me "cut the line" to just give her the phone and leave - a nice touch that acknowledged that I had waited patiently for 90 mins the day before while she worked on my phone. All in all, I was actually happy with the experience there - particularly the employee who helped me (wish I could remember her name...). Now as to why I've been through 3 blackberries in 2 weeks, well that's probably more RIM's fault than VzW. read more

Going to the Verizon store is always challenging but I had an excellent result with Ezra at this location. After a lot of heartache, Ezra was the only one who had the patience and kindness to handle my phone issue. He stayed late as the store closed and refused to leave until he satisfied most of my issues. He was thoughtful and very considerate and did all of this with a smile. I am truly appreciative of his great efforts and I would highly recommend only dealing with him in this location. Great job Ezra! read more

The representative lied to my daughter about a phone trade-in. I had purchased a new iPhone 8 online and had her pick up the phone at the store. She returned her old iPhone 6s in good condition and my expectation was that I would receive the discount that I signed up for online. Instead, the representative looked at the phone, pointed out a minor scratch and said that the phone was not appropriate for trade-in. My daughter asked if the representative would speak with me (the primary owner of the account) and he refused. He said that he had already spoken with her and there was no reason to speak with me. My daughter was given a gift certificate for $37. I called customer service the next day to clear things up. I found out that I could still have been eligible for the discount if a photograph was taken that showed that the phone was in good condition. The customer service rep found out that a photograph was never taken of the phone and it could not be determined whether or not the phone qualified for the promotion. The customer service representative gave me a reasonable payment for the trade in for the 6s, for which I was grateful. I was, however, screwed out of the promotion by the representative. read more

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Mauriece Dawson who went above and beyond to help me get the best deal for my old iphone that i traded in. This review is specifically in regard to June, the store manager. I had a major issue with an accessory being sold to me without the salesperson telling me that the device comes with an extra $10 monthly charge. I became aware of the extra monthly charge after the two-week grace period ended, so I was facing paying $175 just to discontinue using the device. The salesperson threw his hands up and told me there was nothing he could do in the store and that I would have to call customer service. I called customer service, and they told me it had to be taken care of in the store. But they called the store for me and got June on the phone. June patiently listened to my complaint and told me she would call me back the next day at around noon with an update. I was wary that I would actually hear back, but sure enough, I got a call from June exactly when she said she would call, and she found a way to basically eliminate the $10 charge by switching me to a new promotional plan that was $10 less plus 1GB more in data. Thank you, June! She turned a very frustrating experience into a happy outcome. read more
