This restaurant offers counter service. You arrive and wait in a line to order your food. Once you order the food, you are assigned a number. At that time you are allowed to proceed to a table and await your food. The line moved pretty fast as the process seemed very efficient. Luckily, once you get to a table, you can place additional orders with the servers, and not have to go back into the line. The ambience was perfect. The food was amazing! I ordered the shrimp and grits along with a spiked coffee and bloody Mary. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stumbled on this location while passing through town and were warmly greeted. Luckily we were ahead of the Sunday brunch crowd because once we placed our order and were seated, the line was out the door. And for good reason. My family was passing through town and couldn't go inside due to our pets traveling with us. We ordered through Uber and accidentally showed up early not realizing we had selected a scheduled pickup time. They would have been in the right to make us wait for the time selected, however, they went out of their way to get started on our order before it appeared in their system. Though it was an inconvenience to their morning flow, they didn't make me feel that way. Some of the best service I've had from a team in a long while. The food was fantastic. The food was great! We got "The Vicious", the "Vicious Candied Bacon," and the "Munchkin Platter," and they were all wonderful! We specifically loved both the candied and regular bacon, the grits (with cheddar!), and their butters/jams. My husband doesn't even like bacon much and said it was his favorite thing there! The orange juice was also very good and clearly fresh. The staff were very nice and we got our food very quickly. It's a super cute place, too! My only complaint is that a couple pieces of my pancake were gummy/undercooked, but it wasn't enough for me to say anything since I could eat around them. The quality of their food and the quantity of the options are both top notch. Not to mention, their coffee is always good. Their condiments bar is very unique and allows good customization for your biscuit. The atmosphere and signage inside/outside is really cool and the space is large. I also have been impressed with who they have hired as staff. Everyone seems so positive and glad to be there. A few items I would specifically recommend you try there, since I've been there 8 times now and can give you some real advice: *Breakfast bowl (specifically the Skully Squad Bowl) - I love the combination of food in this bowl and I substitute the fried chicken for grilled, instead. I also add their "cowboy candy" to it. *Their Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer is one of the best I've ever had anywhere. It comes with a few spreads to add to your bites, as well, such as their bacon jam. *If you order a specialty biscuit as your meal, you can't go wrong with any of them as I've had 4 of them and all were very tasty. I would specifically recommend "The Vicious" biscuit and also the "Holy City Cubano". Both of those biscuits are phenomenal. *Biscuits and Gravy - Oh my gosh, theirs is so good. The gravy is fantastic. *If you order a biscuit on the side of your regular meal, I'd highly recommend their jalapeno cheddar biscuit be your choice. It's got a lot of flavor and it's also not spicy. I could keep going on and on about what else I've liked there, but the point is: This place is very good. You should stop here soon and eat with some friends or family. We visited on a weekday morning, which is the best way to try new restaurants, as they tend to draw. serious crowds in the first six weeks of opening in our small city. Terrible sausage gravy, like a butter roux with a few pieces of sausage added later. Plus they don't give you enough gravy to coat the biscuit. For $15 trust me go to Hardee's at least you won't feel ripped off. Hint real sausage gravy is made with meat juices...sorry didn't like it. Should of asked for my money back. Hattiesburg! If you haven't been to Vicious Biscuit, what are you waiting on?! Everything about this new establishment was spot on. Customer service -10! Reasonably priced - 10! Atmosphere -10! Food - 10! Even while we waited in a line to get in the building, we were given menus outside and if you wanted to make your drink order, you could do that, too! The wait in line was not very long, ordering was difficult, only because there is so much to choose from, and we were able to pick our own seats. I ordered the Hen Solo. My daughter had a cafe' latte w/ caramel, the Bird and Belgian, and my husband had the Old School Breakfast and an order of Vicious Beignets. (Everything will be pictured). For day 2 of being open, ! The only complaint that I had was the seasoning on the chicken. There was a season in it that I don't care for personally but it was cooked to perfection! Hattiesburg, go give Vicious Biscuit a try. Best breakfast franchise in the US! They got everything right including the incredible menu, the fresh food which is always served quickly and is hot! The owner who is a former USM baseball player is always on hand and making sure all is well along with the friendly staff. First time visit today. This is an order first before open sitting kinda place. The condiments and basic beverages are self serve. There are alcoholic beverages to be ordered upon request. It was around 1 pm, and the place was very busy and very noisy. Menus are available near the door and up above behind cashier. It is a lot to take in when trying to decide what to choose. Thank goodness for menus to look at. After paying you are given a number to be placed in a holder on the table, so the server can find your table. Silverware is metal and not wrapped and separated in containers. I would prefer wrapped for sanitary reasons. Many people walking by breathing on and touching the silverware. I chose the Mile High Omelette. I changed the ham listed to available chicken sausage. And I chose the fried potatoes which were cubed and deep fried. The potatoes were tasty and crunchy which I like. Also, in my opinion, the omelette should reflect what it is called...."Mile High"...I was expecting an overly stuffed omelette. It was tasty, but , my opinion is, it should not be called "Mile High" unless it is more or less double stuffed...$9.00 price is a bit to high for a small under stuffed omelette. Just sayin..... I will make a return visit at some point, but it will not be my first choice from local options... read more
