Best dinner in Provincetown! Set slightly away from busy commercial street this a great date spot. They make great cocktails. I really enjoyed a refreshing cucumber martini. Menu is small plates. Drinks and apps were good, steaks show up med well, both of them. Good news is they replaced them both with sincere apologies, both replacement steaks arrive as ordered. The worst service I can currently ever remember receiving at a restaurant. The 6 of us had main reservations for around 1PM on Sunday, June 30th, 2013, for Brunch and the drag show. Let me start with the good. The show wasn't bad but certainly nothing to write home about. The Mimosa's were great. Sadly that is all. First we all ordered drinks. One of us had a sip of his Bloody Mary and did not like it all. He told the waiter (hispanic? blue wig guy) and the waiter said sorry but they will have to charge him for it. My friend said 'fine' and ordered another drink and gave the old full drink back to the waiter. When we were ready to order the waiter let us know that several of the items were not currently available from the menu. Two of us ordered items that came with "coconut shrimp" as labeled on the menu. Eventually the food came out for 4 of the 6 guests (mine and another did not). First everyone was quite surprised to see that the entrees could have been better classified as a small appetizer, so we all decided that after this, we would need to go to another restaurant for an actual dinner. The waiter brought out ketchup in a cup, that we all grimaced at as it had maybe an ounce of ketchup drowned in 3/4 of what appeared to be water. It looked disgusting, and all of the sudden the waiter came back without saying anything picked up the ketchup and replaced it with a normal cup of ketchup. We were all like what just happened. After almost maybe 13 minutes when the rest of the group had finished their food the two remaining dishes were brought out. We noticed that the shrimp was most certainly not "coconut shrimp" but rather regular shrimp. We immediately asked politely that we ordered the coconut shrimp. He leaned over the table and said sorry, yes we say coconut shrimp on the menu but really just shrimp, sorry. It would have almost been comical if we weren't so hungry or had paid so much. On top of that the caesar salad was literarily just three small wilted leaves that took me about 8 seconds to eat. The sauce also was 100% not caesar dressing but rather I would assume plain mayonnaise. Another member of the group noticed on their salad the dressing was not correct either (as they had asked for a sample of the dressing on arrival before ordering and enjoyed the dressing, but it was certainly not what was put on their salad). After realizing I imagine that no one was happy that Victor's blatantly lies about the type of Shrimp, he rushed us over shots of the jalepeno watermelon (on the house). However the people at the table who like jalapeno watermelon already had ordered a full glass from him earlier and the people who didn't didn't want it in the first place. While typically we would send items back or ask to speak to a manager but we were all on vacation trying to have a good time and decided instead we would simply make sure all of our friends and family know to never visit Victor's or spend their dollar there. Surprisingly, another person said the service is typically good there and if the owner Victor was there it would have never happened. So we think possibly for some reason the kitchen closed earlier and thus the waiter or whoever was on staff had to quickly attempt to make the food themselves as the chef left for the day and maybe it was the waiters first day. Nothing else could explain such an experience at a place that certainly does good business unless people simply come for the show and drinks. We will never visit again. read more

We went here and were completely horrified and disgusted by the way we were treated. The host said we could sit at the bar as it was first come first serve. So we sat and the bartenders set us up with water and a place setting, we chatted for a bit and then...the host comes over to us and says "oh someone called ahead for those stools so I need you to get up." I asked if he had anything else for us and he said "Maybe. If a reservation cancels, but probably not." We left and will never be back...no one deserves to be treated as if they are second best or disposable. read more

Victor 's used to me one of my must/go places in Ptown. They have gotten off to a rough start in 2015. Shrimp had been pre/cooked and was rubbery. Chicken enchiladas- tiny portions, wimpy spicing, served with ONE tortilla chip each. Hope things improve as the season progresses. read more

I've wanted to try this place after seeing the multiple awards they win in Cape Cod publications so my girlfriends and I went in for dinner when we were in town for a weekend getaway. I am glad someone else mentioned the fish tacos; they really did taste like frozen fish. We also got the sliders and chicken among other things....meh, OK but very pricey. Outstanding experience! Service and food far exceeded our expectation and we had a wonderful evening. Christian, the Manager worked for ten minutes to find a way to fit in our family party of eight plus a one year old. The table was perfect. I wanted to like it here as it came highly recommended by friends but was not entirely happy.. A large group of us gathered for a fun, friendly, delicious dinner and though we ate we left disappointed and I slightly still hungry. Victors is not for a large group but better tasted in a smaller group, four people perhaps. The main problem was the waiter. He couldn't be less interested in us as a whole and sadly for us his tip was included. Not so sure how many times I had to ask for one thing and after several times asking I simply walked over to the bar myself and got what I needed. Mine was not the only situation that went ignored at our table but we made lite of it and hoped for better. It didn't get any better. The check arrived and the 20 percent was included. Hate that. Often times we have over tipped and in this case we would have tipped pre tax a straight 15 percent. The bus boys and runners paid more attention to us and were more engaging in the presentation of the food and drinks. Sorry Vic, work is a place to work and maybe an employee meeting before the start of the shift emphasizing customer service is in order. read more

Ok, I rarely give reviews because it isn't worth the time unless its really good. AMAZING dining experience. First, our waiter was Ron. He totally made the experience. When we asked his opinion he steered us in the right direction and there was never a miss. It was like going to eat with your most foodie friend and he was incredibly attentive and warm. The rest of the staff was a well oiled machine. Our plates were quickly cleared, plates and utensils replenished as needed and water glasses (and wine) were always full. We entered in a kind of grumpy mood and left in the best of spirits. Now, the food. I love tapas. This is the best tapas restaurant I have ever eaten at and will be back again for sure. I highly recommend the duck sliders, the sweet potato fries, and fish tacos, they were all super tasty. The duck and sweet potatoes were the best I have ever had. The fish tacos were good, but not compared to west coast fish tacos. The shrimp from the raw bar was so fresh and amazing we ordered a second round. We also ordered the lobster spring rolls which were good but paled in comparison to the rest of the amazing dishes. When we return to P-town we will be sure to visit Victor's again and seek the advice of Ron for any changes in the menu. I HIGHLY recommend it without reservations. We have been to Victors many times over the past 4 years and it has always been great. That was not the case this past Monday. Our server was great and that's where it ended. The food was unremarkable in every way. Presentation was sloppy, fish was old, flavors were lacking, creativity gone. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS RESTAURANT! THEY ARE COMPLETE JERKS! We didn't even have an opportunity to dine at Victor's. I made a reservation several weeks before our trip for my partner's 40th birthday, which consisted of a group of 9 people. I confirmed the reservation one week before the event, but was then called a few days later to state that the manager has decided to close the restaurant that day (for unknown reasons) and cancelled our party of 9. They were gracious enough to offer us a Tuesday or a Thursday. After having done extensive research about the restaurants in P-town, this is what we came up with and we are extremely unhappy. For a manager to make a decision to close a restaurant when a party of 9 has already been scheduled for weeks ahead of time is just sheer stupidity in my mind. We definitely will never be visiting this establishment and hope this dissuades others from the same. To top it all off, I received the following email through Trip Advisor several days a posted review on that website, which must have been someone from Victor's: "the road bradford st was being repaved. Something the town does whenever they want. Happy 40th, and get over the small stuff." My review was based on Victor's poor service and flippant attitude. I don't think that a planned birthday party for 9 people that had been booked for one month to be suddenly cancelled at the last minute is "small stuff". Furthermore, for an establishment in the service industry to go out of its way to respond and say "get over it" is inexcusable. I really hope people read this and think twice about choosing Victors as their restaurant. Provincetown has MANY more restaurants that are so much better when it comes to service. The Mews Restaurant was top notch with excellent food and incredible service, so choose them over Victor's, who obviously does not care about customer satisfaction or handling last minute changes in a gracious manner. read more

We've been in Ptown for three weeks and have eaten at all of the 4 and 4+ yelp restaurants. We thought Victors was the only one not worthy of a return visit. The service was unattentive and not very friendly. We poured our own wine, waiter seemed bothered when we asked for recommendations. The raw bass appetizer was the only dish we loved. Delicious, balanced, flavorful. The pork was boring and on a bed of raw, chopped veggies. Boring - I can cut up and serve raw bell peppers at home. The muscles were good, but nothing original - a soy broth where you mostly just taste soy. The mexican corn was chewy and cold. Not a fan. read more

A food as always was excellent (and I have spent the past 15 summers here, so have been going since the place started) but this is the 2nd time this season where I have been and had to deal with a waiter who had zero respect for either his job or his customers. I am so over indifferent and sloppy service provided by some one who clearly thinks the job they are being paid for was beneath him. This aggravation on what we thought would be a quiet Monday night was compounded by the fact that seated in the center of this smallish restaurant was a party of very very loud women obviously celebrating something (another bacholerette party?) and whilst I would never begrudge anyone's right to have a good time, however when it effects the rest of the entire restaurant,, then that is clearly unacceptable, Evidently not to the Owner as he was present and seemed not to want to politely ask the women to tone it down a notch as they were drinking expensive champagne. Asides from the excellent food we felt we were in some low end fast food cafe somewhere, a fact which is hardly reflected in the steep bill. So sad that I now want to cross this old favorite off my list for the rest of the summer. read more

it's tough to be a critic of Victor's cuz everyone is really cool. from unsnooty front room crew to server Ron who "edited" our choices to chef Mike who stopped by table. also the smartest dining room in town packed with a mix of folks in for drink and eat. from the diverse menu had: fresh clams, swordfish tacos, roast pork loin w/ asian slaw and a mediterranean halibut special. mostly delicious but could really be awesome with bolder seasoning. rarely order dessert but the sampler plate was a hit. worth a return. read more

Upon looking at The reviews on Yelp, my family decided to eat at Victors for dinner. I called and left a message for a reservation for 6p.m. The message stated that they will call to confirm the reservation. Since we never revieved a call confirming or denying our reservation, We decided to go to the restaurant for 6. We were greeted by a nasty gentleman at the desk. We told him the story of our phone call and reservation but he bluntly and hastily told us that since they never called us we didn't get the reservation. We told him that he never called us and told us that we didn't get the reservation. He didnt even trynto accomodate us. The reservation policy here is absurd so don't even waste your time with this nonsense of a restaurant. We ended up going somewhere else with our party of 6 and gladly paid them the $300 bill that Victors lost out on. read more

We started our Provincetown vacation here with four amazing small plates and two glasses of champagne - the fish tacos and BBQ pork sliders in particular are to die for. Our waiter Ron was super helpful and the meal was well-paced over an hour and a half. The decor is lovely and they have free parking. We will be back! read more

We just had another great meal at Victors . Their new chef , Christina, has done a wonderful job of keeping things that are popular and improving and inventing others. Our favorites are duck sliders and seafood cakes and are nothing but DELICIOUS. The beet salad, a standard on most restarant menus this time of year, was fabulous. The calamari, must be tried. Great food, great space , great service. This is THE place to go, particularly if you are in a group and want to have a fun and delicious experience. Each course did not disappoint and left us anticipating the next. We ordered the mushrooms, the Brussel sprouts, the duck confit sliders and cioppino-all delicious. The oysters were very flavorful and the mixed drinks were spot on. We were so glad that we ordered dessert. The beignets were delightful with a wonderful warm fruit compote but my favorite was the chocolate mousse cake delight which was very light and flavorful with a raspberry drizzle. Once the staff got the orders right, I was pleased with the food, but service was horrible. Greeted with unnecessary attitude. I questioned if something was gluten free, which upset the waiter and restaurant manager. In the end, what I had ordered was in fact not gluten free as indicated on the menu. Victor's is one of my favorite restaurants in Ptown. It's always dependable from the food to the service. It's housed in a Cape Cod-style structure (what else?) on the outskirts of Ptown away from the craziness. It is nicely decorated to give you a warm homey feeling including the nice (probably faux) fireplace in the center of the restaurant. The food is delicious, meant to be shared but very satisfying if dining alone. I had the halibut which was perfectly prepared served over risotto & artichoke hearts; simply delicious. The service is very attentive. What I especially love is the Sunday Drag Brunch. If you're lucky you'll be treated to Shady Pines the best drag queen that ever graced Ptown. She's delightfully insane and will have you cracking up the entire time. The brunch food was fabulous as expected as well. I will come again & again next time I'm in Ptown. read more

Due to timing we only made it back one other night of vacation. We got there with only 15 minutes remaining to happy hour & a full bar. We ordered two "specials" off the supplemental menu and figured we would start there. The first thing to come out was the "Crab Avocado Salad with Sesame Lavish" YUCK! One bite of this and I was immediately nauseous. The crab tasted extremely fishy, there was no texture to the dish what so ever. The avocado was literally a couple of cubes on top of the mush scoop in the bowl. There was no lavash to be found, only a bunch of mixed crackers that came right out of the "Townhouse" box from the grocery store. It was AWFUL! We sent it back immediately. After a few minutes the chef came up to our table from the kitchen. She said "I was told you didn't like the crab salad?". To which I pleasantly responded "I wanted to, but I think it was a little off, a little fishy really.". Instead of just apologizing and offering for us to have something else, she began to make excuses. First she said "well that was probably the sesame oil.". I told her I was surprised by that as I didn't even taste sesame in the dish and I use sesame oil frequently at home. Next she claimed it may have been the jicama.... to which I started to get very annoyed and told her I am very familiar with all of the ingredients and what I tasted was bad crab. At that point she walked away... VERY RUDE. If your chef can't handle customer service, keep her in the kitchen. Shortly after that went back we received our "Watermelon and Feta Salad. This was edible and tasted much better. The dish was two circle pieces of watermelon, about 3 or 4 inches wide over arugula with feta cheese over the top of it. This would have been great, but the watermelon should have either been seedless or they should have cut around the seeds a little more. You could not take a single bite without having to pick them out of your mouth... not exactly appropriate in an "upscale" restaurant. This may be knitpicking, but by this point we were very turned off by Victor's overall. In all honesty, the only reasons I would even give them a second star from our experience was that the server who's name I didn't catch, was very pleasant and very apologetic and the drinks were great. read more

We really were expecting a great dinner here. Unfortunately our expectations were not completely met. The first small plate of Calamari was superb. The second plate of mini meatballs had wonderful flavor but the Parmesan mini basket wrapping was stale. My Lobster Risotto had good flavor but my dinner companions Halibut was DRY. My husband's Pork Tenderloin was over cooked. We also ordered the Vegetable Spring rolls which had no seasoning or flavor and were so grease laden. We expressed our disappointment to our waiter who could not have been nicer. He said he would let the chef know. Neither the Chef or Co-owner ever bothered to come over to our table. My friend and I ate at Victor's for both dinner and brunch and had excellent experiences both times. The atmosphere is a bit upscale, but not at all stuffy or formal. The prices were very reasonable and and it's an excellent value for the level of service and quality of food. Victor's bills itself as a small-plates or tapas-style for dinner, but the plates were actually pretty big. Our waiter recommended 2 to 3 plates for both of us (not each, as I had initially assumed). We ordered three - the sweet potato fries, lobster spring rolls, and halibut fish tacos - and it was just the right amount of food. The fries were excellent, with a marscapone- honey dipping sauce that was different and delicious. The fish tacos were amazing - definitely the highlight of the meal, and better than my numerous samplings I had the last time I was in Mexico. The only disappointment was the lobster spring rolls. They weren't bad, just nothing special. Dinner was very good, but brunch was surprisingly amazing. Victor's has a regular brunch menu - not small plates - with pretty standard fare. I generally think that brunch is brunch and there's not all that much you can do with an egg sandwich, but the one I had was one of the best ever. I think the secret was the addition of shaved onions. Also, it came with a wonderful fruit salad. My friend had french toast, made from bread with a honey-poppy seed swirl that was a really nice twist. Again, it was probably one of the best french toast dishes I've had. All in all, this was truly excellent -- I'll be sure to return next time I'm in P-Town. read more

Was I at the wrong restaurant? After reading all the other reviews of this restaurant, I'm a bit perplexed. Was I eating at a different Victor's? All these five star ratings...and here I am. Not even close. First, the bartender. I have drunk far more caprihinas than he'll ever make. I know how to pronounce caprihina. Don't correct me like I'm Helen Keller just learning the word w-a-t-e-r. Next, the choices. They have a good variety of "small" plates. However, the small plates are unlike any tapas I've had in Spain or anywhere else. First, they are not cheap. ($10-$19) and the portions are fairly hefty. We decided on the salmon/scallop ceviche and spinach/leek cannelloni. Our bartender thought we needed something in between to "bridge" the difference. Really?? Didn't realize we weren't bridging the gap. At his recommendation, we ordered the Sizzling Asian Steak. The ceviche was actually good, a little too sweet for my liking. I would have liked a little more citrus and some heat. The cannelloni was very good. Home-made pasta with a great filling and delicious red sauce. The Sizzling Asian Steak? Not so much. I would have preferred it cooked a LOT less. It was past well done and well on its way to cinders...and it actually was the smallest portion of the evening. Three "tapas" plates and two glasses of wine...and a caprihina? $80. I will give Victor's props on the decor. Gorgeous. I would go and have a drink at the bar. Went to Victor's last night - we haven't been in way too long. The energy and vibe are upbeat and energetic. The food was fantastic! I started out with the Watermelon and Feta Salad on a bed of arugula with a balsamic reduction. I love the layers of floaters. I then had another special - Asian Seared Filet Mignon with bib lettuce leaves. The meat was so tender it melted in my mouth. Because Victor's serves tapas I ordered the Florentine Cannelloni. I did eat some of it and it was mighty tasty. Unfortunately I was full! We'll definitely be back soon! read more
