I hate to be that person that orders the same thing each time I go to a restaurant - but I'm afraid that might be me here. Because when I tried their chicken drunken noodles (medium spicy which is pretty darn spicy) I fell in love. My friend's pho looked amazing but I don't know if I can go there now and not get the noodles :) Our server was very friendly and the location was clean and bright. The only down side was that there was only one server - so we had a bit of a wait to get the check. But at least she was friendly and the food came out quick. read more

First and foremost the service was great! The lady was super nice, and we even got a warm towel at the end to wipe our hands. The food was alright. I had the "pho your way" with steak, flank, and brisket. The soup isn't as rich as the soup in other pho places in my opinion. The flavor was still not bad but by the end of the meal I could tell there was a good deal of MSG in the soup. Also just a minor detail but they have metal chopsticks which kills your hand when trying to pick up noodles. Overall I'd say give the place a shot but maybe try something else other than the pho. read more

Not bad, not bad~ I'm so glad we're seeing more choices in Vienna. It's a small place tucked in a corner of a shopping mall so it's easy to miss. Their food was tasty and suggestions were great. Not sure if other customers have experience this but they would make a suggestion on a "better" choice. I'm not sure how to take it but I'll assume the good and knowledge in the wait staff but it has happened to me on both occasions that I've been there. I'll tell them what I'd like to order and they'd make a different suggestion... both cases where the food was more expensive. But I have to say that their suggestions were good and I had nothing to complain about. Their servings for pho is on the small side but the kids enjoyed them a lot. I'll be back and I'll have to see if they make a different suggestion again. read more

Not even sure where to begin with this review. The food is great (more on that later), but the customer service is above and beyond. The servers remember their guests. Not just an "oh yeah you were in here before," but on your second visit they will remember things like, "you got the shrimp and okra soup last time." (Last time being the first time you've ever eaten there.) Each time you visit, you speak with them more because they are so friendly and genuinely care about the community they serve. This place has become our go to for nights when we're exhausted and don't want to cook (hello new parent life). As for the food...it has all been delicious. The servers are great about making sure dishes are gluten free (celiac here). Never once gotten sick from this place. That says a ton about their dedication to their customers. They are also great about amping up or dialing down spice levels. They've made dishes for me to eat solo (love spicy food--told them Thai spicy and they didn't hold back) and to share with my little 7 month old (who LOVES the food at this place). Bottom line: this place can handle everything from the seasoned eaters...to little kids...to in-laws who don't have experience eating Vietnamese food...to husbands who have cravings for a bunch of fried chicken pieces with sauce (not saying that has happened or anything). read more

Make this place your new go to for pho, end of story. DELICIOUS broth, spicy, deeply flavored, really incredible. Best I've had in this area and so convenient. We had a great experience. The restaurant is small and quiet but when we went they were playing quiet jazz which was nice. Our waitress was genuinely nice and friendly but unobtrusive. We got the steamed dumplings which were tasty and a really large portion, probably 8 or 10 when I was expecting 4. We got the #2 Pho with eye of round beef and it was very tender and a good but not overwhelming portion size. The noodles were springy and good but the broth was really next level. I went here on a whim with my husband after buying a Groupon. This is exactly what Groupon is for. Getting the word out about a business you might not have ever known about. That being said, sometimes those are hit and miss. If you don't have a good product and good service, you aren't going to get repeat customers. I am SO glad we tried this place because it is officially my new favorite place to get Pho! I'm vegetarian so when I ordered the veg and tofu pho I didn't expect to be blown away. I've been eating pho for most of my life and this is probably one of my favorite bowls ever. Not only was the flavor amazing, it was topped off with snow peas, broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots! The tofu was fresh and amazing (not freezer burned like some places). The pho was reasonably priced compared to other places but I felt like some of their other dishes were a bit pricey. But after tasting one dish I'm hooked and eager to try more! I'm sure it's worth the money because everything was so fresh. I foresee many take out nights since it is conveniently on my way home from work. The decor is modern and trendy and very cute. The service was good too. My friend and I had the lunch special. You get a decent sized bowl of pho, a roll (either the fresh or the fried kind), and a soda drink all for $10. It's a great value and I would recommend it to anyone. The pho itself is good. For reference, I have never had a bowl of pho that I thought was outstandingly better than all others. As long as it's fresh and not greasy, it's good (I should also say that I'm Vietnamese). If I was only reviewing the food, I would probably give this restaurant 4 stars. We swung by to check this place out. We're always looking for an alternative to Eden that is closer to the house. On a Friday at 8:30 PM, there were only two other tables occupied when we got there (weather was lousy). We ordered the crispy spring rolls, which were average. Then, it went downhill from there. We ordered the Fantastic Four, and the Shaky Beef. When the entrees came out, we started digging in. We noticed that the Fantastic Four had regular vermicelli noodles, not extra fine as it should. That's a primary reason to order this. We asked if we could get them on the side, and the server came back a minute later to say that they were out of the extra fine noodles. Sounds petty, but they didn't just run out because of a mad rush. They knew they were out, and decided to make a substitution without asking the guest first? They extended an offer to bring out something else, but we were both famished after the gym so we just ate what we had. From there, I noticed the shaky beef was way overcooked. As in, it was pure grey and it'll bounce off your plate (I tried it). To top it off, they used lettuce rather than watercress! Everyone knows that lettuce wilts as soon as you put hot beef on it. $16 for overcooked shaky beef. Nice. Not once did someone come by to ask us how the food was. They have some serious inter-staff communication issues, which really doesn't make much sense because you could whisper to the other side of the room. As we said there were a lot of empty tables. Lastly, some poor guy came in by himself at 9:25, and they sat him and gave him a menu. A few minutes later, someone came by to tell him that the kitchen was closed? They close at 10. Don't do that to a guest that comes by on a rainy, 40 F and windy night. Good luck to this place...but once you take a closer look at the the reviewers who rated this place highly, you'll see why it has a high rating. Dinner is way overpriced for what you get. We ordered the crepe and it touted pork, shrimp and veggies. 90% of the crepe was bean sprouts. Garnishments like pickles and basil covered the emptiness of the plate. The Sizzling beef came out not sizzling', overcooked and chewy. Quan the waiter was annoying and spent most of his time hawking the founder that he discounted from $39 to $29 dollars. Or just pushing some of the higher priced dishes. We just tried Viet Aroma tonight and it was great!! Definitely the best vietnamese food in the Town of Vienna and Tysons in our opinion. We ordered appetizers and had two types of summer rolls - the grilled pork summer rolls and the fresh shrimp and pork summer rolls. They were fresh and delicious. You could tell the summer rolls were freshly made and not older summer rolls made the day before and stored in a refrigerator. For beverages, we had thai iced tea and an avocado smoothie. I enjoyed the thai iced tea and my spouse said the avocado smoothie was good, but a bit icy. I got the traditional bun bowl and it was huge and tasty! It was full of grilled pork, shrimp (1 skewer with 4-5 shrimps), a grilled pork meat patty, shredded pork, fried bamboo filled with pork -- all over vermicelli noodles with lettuce/bean sprouts and sweet fish sauce. My spouse had the eye round pho and said it was a good bowl of pho. The beef was properly sliced thinly (as pho beef should be). As for the other reviewer who complained that the take out had a bag of raw meat -- that's the way pho is supposed to be given for carry out. The idea is that the broth is so hot that you drop the thin, raw slices of beef into the soup and it cooks the beef instantly. It's the traditional way of eating pho. If you take your broth a long distance and it cools over time, you just have to heat it up as you would with any other take out meal. The trick to eating take out pho is ensuring that you have hot broth. Heat up the broth before adding noodles and the beef. It's best to have your noodles in a bowl and pour the hot broth into that bowl, then add the slices of beef, and finally the garnishes (basil, lemon, sprouts, etc.). If they had chosen to put your beef into the hot broth prior to giving the takeout to you, you'd have over-cooked beef in your pho. Trust me, I grew up eating this food. Overall, we highly recommend going here and look forward to eating here again. I will update the review after several more visits. We are hopeful that this will be our new vietnamese restaurant in the area rather than having to travel to Falls Church or going to Four Sisters - which is more expensive and crowded. This place accepts all credit cards ($10 minimum). It's a fancier looking pho restaurant decor wise -- the Sriracha, hoisin, and red peppers were in white ceramic serving dishes vs. sticky bottles you find on the tables of most pho places. The chopsticks were individually wrapped rather than being all shoved into the typical pho chopstick holder. The staff spoke english and were so friendly! All in all, please give this place a shot - it's worth a visit. read more

Okay! Fairly, the foods were really good, or I could say they were delicious! However, there were some problems which totally destroyed my night! 1/ I and my sister arrived to Viet Aroma around 7pm and there was only one waitress and two guests at that time. And the waiter even forgot to give us the menu + refill the water and we had to ask for. Later, 5 more guests came (1 families and 1 couple). But we had to wait until 20 mins to get only the appetizer (2 Summer Rolls which I can say is one of the easiest and fastest foods to make at any Vietnamese restaurant) and 15-20 more mins for the 2 blows of Pho. 2/ The other guests came later but they still got the foods first. Why? Even we all ordered the same type of foods (Pho and appetizer). ***Note: Me and my sister have eaten Pho and Summer Rolls at many restaurants but I believe this gonna be the worst experience ever. read more

If you're looking for a healthy, tasteful, and quality meal I highly recommend giving them a try! This is by far my favorite restaurant in Northern VA. Staff is very welcoming and super friendly. Best spot for pho as you can easily tell they make it daily with fresh ingredients (as said on their menu) and it's a huge difference as compared to other pho restaurants; definitely tastes of higher quality. Today was my first time trying this place based on positive reviews. I was able to order online and go pick it up. The owner gave me a glass of water as I waited just a few minutes for my food. I got the pho with chicken and I loved it. Chicken was a little bland, but nothing a little Siracha can't fix. My hubby got the beef vermicelli soup, and I think it was a slightly wrong order. The menu says it just has beef shank but we are sure there was some bologna looking meat as well as some tripe in there. So other than those unexpected extras, my hubby was happy. The carry out containers were excellent- nothing spilled and the orders came with plastic bowls FTW!! All in all great service, good food, and I will be back again! read more

Took a long time for the server to take our order and she did not refill our water. All basil leaves they gave were wilted and chewed by insects. We used a groupon which required us to call and make a reservation. We called twice to make the reservation and got a message saying the line was busy and to leave a message. The server did accept our groupon but did not apologize for no one answering the phone and didnt not happy about it. Just made a comment that it was "strange". The prices here are higher than other Vietnamese restaurants in the area and the portions were smaller. The spicy soup Bun Bo Hue P7 use the Pho broth not the separate broth for it. It supposed to have a different broth and its salty. Never come back here again. read more

Food: I ordered the special, Dynamite Orange Chicken. I was pleased when the dish was served and it was whole white meat chicken very lightly fried (flambed?) and nicely crispy. The sauce overtop had a nice hint of orange and had a good amount of ginger, including some shaved/shredded ginger pieces. Glad to see they don't serve the typical orange chicken which is syrupy and gloopy! My boyfriend ordered Pho with Eye Round Steak, Flank Steak, and Tendon. He raved about the meat and the broth. The meat seemed to have been actually cooked in the broth, unlike some places where it seems like the meat has been cooked separately and then added just before serving, which results in a rubbery texture. This wasn't like that at all! Super tasty (i tried some too). Then the broth seemed to have a touch of nutmeg (best guess) which gave it a rich flavor. He said it was his favorite pho broth he'd had so far. They also serve complimentary decoratively sliced oranges after the meal! Ambiance: Calm lighting and nice decoration inside. There was nice music playing. There are TVs which are not too prominent that they were bothersome but are still present if that's your thing. I usually don't like having TVs at a restaurant but they didn't bother me in the slightest. Service: Impeccable. The waiter unfolded our cloth napkins and handed them to us to place in our laps, nice touch. They were also very prompt with refilling the water glasses, which is impressive cause i down a lot of water! Everyone we interacted with start to finish was courteous and professional. Overall Experience: EXCELLENT! SIDE NOTE: They have a Pho food challenge called the super bowl in which you are challenged to finish the entire bowl of pho in 15 minutes. If you do so, it's free! I was a bit disappointed that the pho came out so quickly as it came out just 4 minutes after I got apps. The sampler app was a bit cold, but I tend not to mind too much.
