Egg roll condiments

Restaurant was a decent size and clean. Service was prompt and friendly. The food was really good. It was served hot, fresh, and flavorful. The prices were very fair. We will be back soon to try other dishes.

Always hit the spot Brother is rich and full flavor They Al's offer chili oils Seasoned onion pieces Just ask! This place never disappoints Service 5/5! The guys kept up asking every now and then if we needed anything, good service and we appreciate that! Ambiance 3/5 no frills but decent family owned spot! Must try!

Ambiance - Simple, casual, and homey. It's a small place with a few parking spots of their own but not super roomy for parking. Inside there is a decent amount of seating for a cozy sized restaurant like this. Service - Sweet and friendly people. They try their best to serve and be helpful. Accidentally made my drink wrong and blended the ice so they offered to re-make but I didn't mind so I told them it wasn't necessary. Food - It hurts me to say but it was middle of the road. Good enough to satisfy a craving without having to go all the way down to OC area but not what my mom was looking for. I personally also didn't like the veggie eggrolls. The wrap was crunchy and crispy but I fear it also was thick and I didn't care for it. Filling was also whatever. Somewhat bland and mushroom tofu forward. Probably wouldn't be back but we gave this place a shot and so should you! Our standards just tend to be high and we're extreeeemely picky eaters.

Egg roll super dry and hard to chew, tossed away at the end

Searched for Vietnamese food in the area and came across this restaurant with over 4 stars reviews. Ordered their Bun Bo Hue and egg roll. The Bun Bo Hue doesn't taste authentic. The egg roll was super dried and chewy till a point I can't even bite it. It doesn't taste fresh at all. Definitely don't recommend this restaurant if you are looking for authentic Vietnamese food.

Beef fresh rolls

We tried this place while visiting the area. The beef spring rolls were very tasty with the sauce although the sauce is a little sweet. I had the beef noodle soup with brisket and thin beef and it was very good and filling. My friend had the shrimp and pork blood soup and it had a strange smell and taste. Also the AC was very cold in December I'm not sure why it has to be so cold.

First time here and loving this place already! My mom and I asked the first server what he'd recommend-to which he was like "uhhh idk" lol, But then who I assumed to be the owner came around and gave us great recommendations-always ask, it never hurts. I got the #5 with well done beef brisket and flank, I was also shown how to eat my pho with a type of beef oil and pickled onions with a couple different sauces-which was all new to me. Everything was so good, I got a regular sized pho, but it was pretty big and didn't skimp on the beef. Excellent service and the food was a 10/10

This place is a great local Viet place to get your fix. The staff is very nice and attentive, accommodating and very helpful and the food is great. I've had the com tam dishes with grilled pork and the pork chop. Overall, great amount of food and great flavor. The appetizer sampler is great value and the spring rolls are excellent. I've had the shrimp and lean pork spring rolls and those were wrapped very well and flavorful. My friends often get the pho dac biet and bun bo hue which are also great.

Coming from LA this is my go to Pho Spot 2nd time here and it did not disappoint . The flavor of the pho and the portions is amazing. That bbq spring roll "Nem Nuong Cuon" is bussin. Great customer service with old school Vietnam vibe.

Mi bo kha-beef stew with egg noodles absolutely sublime

This has been a long standing pillar in the El Monte community. When you want to feel the love and warmth of locals and this business you will fall in love. I've been a patron for many a years and my go to is their (mi bo kho) beef stew egg noodles. Its savory, meaty and delicate broth gives your soul the nourishment it yearns for. Decor is as clean as it can be for decades of service but their cuisine is superb. Truly adore the service and exceptional pricing.

This place is listed today as having outdoor seating. Is it still available? If it is, is it covered or heated? How many people can sit there? / April 8, 2023

This location no longer has outdoor seating.

What's current price of the super bowl pho, the number 1 dish on the menu?

18.95

Is it open? We keep calling to place an order, but it goes to an automated message, voicemail box not set up to leave a message.

Yes is open, I think they disconnect their phone since they are so busy

We just drove to eat here again, and there was a note on the door saying they're closed on Tuesdays. Does anyone know if this is just for awhile, or will this be a permanent thing?

I'm pretty sure it's a permanent thing, many other Asian restaurants close on Tuesday's, not sure why but they recently started closing Tuesday's.

Heard the owners sold the place recently, can we confirm?

Nope same awesome family

Here are the dishes we ordered: House special lobster with noodles: 5/5 ( the star of this place) Pan fried beef noodles: 5/5 Kung pao chicken: 5/5 Tofu with brown sauce: 5/5 Chow fun noodles: 4/5 Vegetable dishes: 4/5 Fish fillet: 3/5 Pork chop spicy salt: 5/5 Mapo tofu: 4/5 Shrimp with eggs: 4/5 My favorite dish was the house lobster with noodles. It's really why I came here. There was so much meat from the lobster and the noodles were a great addition to the dish. So flavorful and delicious! If you come between 11:30-4:45pm, you can get the lunch special items. The portions were actually huge for the price you're paying. It's available 7 days a week. It's so worth it! I would definitely come back here especially for the delicious food, reasonable prices and exceptional service.

One of the dish we ordered was the house special sauce crab with market price of ~$26 per pound. We added the noodles for $10. Normal practice the server should come and advise on the size of our crab before making so we can choose how big the crab we want for our dish, because we're paying by pound for the dish anyway... but within 2 minutes of placing the order, a crab dish arrived... HA! Problem 1: The server originally tried to give the crab dish to the table next to us and the folks refused the dish... then the server turned around and placed the dish onto our table for us. CLEARLY they made a mistake and made the wrong dish for next table and decide to not waste food and gave it to us. We asked if that was really our dish and they said yes... what a lie! The kitchen took 2 mins to cook our dish? haha...dumb! Next table was there before us and their house special lobster noodles arrived 10-15 minutes later. First they made a mistake, then tried to lie to cover it up. No one is stupid here. We would have been ok if they were honest about it and ask if we would accept that dish with no complain here. Problem 2: The table next to us got their plates changed multiple times and NOT once did someone came to check on us about changing plates. Problem 3: Our bill came. They charged our crab as 2.5 pounds. What a joke! I'm a crab person. I know my crabs. That tiny crab is probably around 1.5 pounds - 2 pounds max. (Check out the picture to see the small crab shell and the tiny pieces of the crab legs and meat pieces on the edge of the plate). The $10 they charged for noodles was a huge portion, but that is not the same value as 1 pound of crab that they overcharged us for the dish. The house special crab was pretty tasty and we like the fried calamari. The veggie was decent and soup was pretty weak... our bill was $150 and I tipped $20 for the experience. Be grateful and work on improving your practice

I ordered the Mac n' chowder, and it was a perfect mixture of clam chowder and Mac n cheese in a bread bowl. It was definitely a unique dish! The rest of my party ordered the traditional pan roast with assorted seafood, and after tasting it, I wished I had more room in my stomach! While I don't eat oysters, everyone else did and I heard nothing but good things. They even ordered another dozen (for a total of 3 dozen)! Service was fantastic. We were also able to call and get our names down for a reservation, which I'm glad we did since it started getting very crowded with a long wait during dinner time. Because the wait time was too long for that, we decided to try The Dive Oyster Bar -- and man are we sure glad we did. We got a total of five items: a bowl of clam chowder, the soft shell crab appetizer, the roasta, the traditional pan roast with the house speciality protein (with the crab on the side because of my dad's crab allergy), and the jambalaya, which for the last three we ate with medium heat. We shared everything (except for the crab appetizer because, again, crab allergy for dad) and found the food to be delicious, with each entree coming out tasting better than the last. Personally, the roasta was my favorite with the pan roast as a close second. Very flavorful dishes with medium heat being a good level for us (wasn't spicy for our Korean palates). Service was great, our server (unfortunately forgot his name) was attentive and quick with our requests, and although he forgot a side of rice, it was for the best as the food had settled in our stomachs by then and we were content with what we ordered. The restaurant itself is well maintained with ample table space and appropriate lighting, though the music from the evening DJ was a tad bit too loud to hear from across the table. Not a big mood killer for us, though mostly because the good was that good. We're not from this area, so the odds of coming here again are relatively slim -- but should the opportunity present itself, it'll be more than fate this time to take us through these doors once again.

For the price of food and the amount you get, I can't complain! The flavor of their own seafood boil sauce (boom sauce?) is a standard seafood boil flavor, it's legit. The flavors don't overwhelm you and make you wanna go to the toilet right away, you know what I mean? The family pack comes with 3 corn on the cob, 3 sausage pieces and 3 potatoes (like a medium sized potato!) it was good but I wish the seafood had time to sit in the sauce, you can tell the food was dumped on the sauce. We had to fight to scoop some sauce onto our mussels cause the bag was so full of food- what a good problem to have. Maybe the sauce is a bit thin? Maybe that's why it didn't stick to the food? Service was good, the ladies were attentive and professional. The decor looked like this place was known to be a bar- I mean there's a huge bar to the side.
