Wonderful Elite experience of coffee tasting and tour of Vigilante coffee shop by owners. We were immersed in the process of the different sourcing of coffee beans in regards to their trajectories of importation, plus roasting techniques deriving from the cherries they are born into. We were walked through the process of start to finish, along with their equipment at location to make this fine fresh roasting process take place. Originally from Hawaii, the team at this coffee shop is passionate about the local community and is beginning to grow and provide coffee beans grown nearby and are in the process of executing this roasting process for taste and further development in the near future. We were allowed to try their coffee along with the delicious açaí with granola and blueberry--a classic favorite. There is ample parking and open space indoors to engage with group, friends, or even remote work. The menu offers a vast selection of beverages and I cannot wait to return to try other goodies on my list. This time I ordered the Red Eye for a very busy day and did not disappoint. Great atmosphere, chill vibes. The service is very authentic which may be off putting to people who prefer a more "plastic, stepford wives" style of customer service but for me it's a plus. The drip coffee is delicious, just a simple, laid back place. Plus lots of adorable dogs, if that bothers you I'm not sure why you're in Oceanside. read more

I don't know if it is just subliminal racism or passive aggressive racism but today was the third time someone else was served before me despite my waiting for some time. Standing for 5 minutes at the counter as the only non-white person only for the employee to serve the 2 white girls that just walked in sucks. Three visits in a row feels like more than a trend. I've been here a couple of times because it's within walking distance to where my partner works and whenever needing coffee we go here. Almost Each time I've visited it's taken a really long time to get my order no matter the amount of people, it once took 45min for me to get two coffees and there is a lot of staff who socialize a lot however there are staff that are also super hard working and make sure that all my needs were met who I want to shine a light on who I hope get so much praise from higher ups. I would hope that for a small coffee that costs me $7-$8 per cup that it wouldn't take so long and it would be a more enjoyable experience to visit next time. Easily in my top 3 coffee shops in oside! It is very spacious, a very good amount of tables/table space, and the music selection was on point with the old school hip pop and r&b. (However since it is by a main road, it does get noisy from time to time, but nothing too bad.)Would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a place to study or work. I like to come here for the space. They have big open space and a lot of outlets, which is great for studying/ working. Unlike other coffee shops in the area that always packed and hard to find parking/ seating, vigilante are very spacious. One time I came on Sunday and they even had a live band there. The coffee is mediocre and pastries can be hit and miss, depends on what you order. However, everyone is so nice and friendly here. I would come back again. read more

I'm actually very disappointed in my most recent trip here... I came with my boyfriend to show him this place because I have come here about 5 times in the past and it has always been good enough for me to want to come back, but this time drew the line. I don't usually write bad reviews but I feel like I have to because I spent $40 on 4 things that I could've made 100x better at home myself. First of all, the girls working behind the counter did not smile or seems welcoming. Second, the drinks: the mocha that I ordered tasted like just water and chocolate (not creamy at all), and had a thin watery consistency I would rate it a 0.5/5 , the matcha mostly just tasted like milk and they didn't even fill the cup all the way so I'll give it 1/5. Third, the food: the seasonal ACAI that my boyfriend ordered was okay but not great, and when I ordered the goat on an everything bagel, the girl gave me a plain bagel which I wasn't too worried about but then I remembered that I paid $12 for this and that I would like my moneys worth of course, so she swapped it out. Also- I am currently trying to eat it right now and it's not even toasted! Lastly, after waiting for 30 minutes for all of this, I just can't get over how we just wasted 45 minutes of our time and money for something we can't even enjoy... I'm EXTREMELY dissatisfied, and at a loss for my time and money. If you're going to charge people this much, AT LEAST make your food and coffee delicious af and your business will be a success, but Your basically paying extra money for the "trendiness" of the space, but this place is so mid, there's nothing that amazed us here. read more

Vigilante Coffee is the BEST in the game. I started going to Vigilante a couple years back at their two OG locations in Maryland. After moving out to California I realized they were opening a 3rd location on 45 minutes away. I had to make the trip down from OC to the new location!! The space is massive, plenty of room to get work done or hangout with a small group of friends. The aesthetic is welcoming, relaxing, and enjoyable just like the other locations. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. You CANNOT go wrong with any drink on the menu. It's hard for me to order something other than their Cold Brew though the drip and latte's are always phenomenal. I recommend spending the extra $ for a pour...your tastebuds will thank me!! The owner's Chris & Ashley...and of course Harold (the Vig pup) are the most down-to-earth humans. They focus just as much on caring for other's happiness as they do making a perfect cup of coffee. Today was my first time visiting and I absolutely enjoyed the experience. The layout is so open and inviting and the background radio music creates a lively atmosphere. It obviously is very popular with locals since I saw a line out of the door quite a few times but the staff did an excellent job at efficiency to serve each customer promptly. I very much appreciate how they welcome dogs and it was both a family atmosphere and a fun get-together-for-coffee/breakfast with individual groups. I asked the barista Kenya what was the most popular coffee item and I decided on the iced vanilla latte with oat milk. It was absolutely delicious. As much as we love this place for coffee and food (a group of 4 or 5 us come each week), we also come for caffeine fueled creative work on our computers, which require internet access. But It's the worst internet quality I have seen at a coffee shop, so sadly we must go somewhere else now. This seems like an easy fix, but even after asking about it, it's still awful internet. I went to try out this local coffee shop, and when I walked in, I wasn't greeted or acknowledged for a few minutes while the two workers continue to clean and one was preparing coffees to take out to another customer I could have at least been greeted with a hello or I'll be with you in one minute, but they did not say anything. once I was finally greeted, the guy behind the counter seemed annoyed with me and wasn't very helpful with the questions that I asked. I should've left since they didn't care to greet me or say anything while I was waiting standing around with no other customers in line other than myself. The seating arrangement wasn't that great, and it is like a warehouse that it is extremely hot. I won't be back due to the customer service mostly. They don't have a variety of options for different types of coffee flavors so if you'd like a basic coffee, then that probably doesn't matter to you. read more

Great new coffee shop in a convenient location along Coast Highway, with plenty of easy parking and a great selection of drinks. Have tried a few of their coffees, all of which have been made well. Great coffee, but they're disorganized. Also they have confusing pick up stations. One is for online orders (I think?) and the other for togos. There are no signs that say anything. And their menu is TINY. I liked that they don't put too much ice so even when it melts, my drink is still not watered down. Overall the atmosphere was nice and clean, and I'd probably be back for a coffee, but I'd definitely choose a day they are less busy on. read more

Our visit to Vigilante Coffee this morning gave me sick feeling.unfriendly and unwelcoming.......I was appalled at the smug, unfriendly and arrogant attitude of both people behind the counter. The blonde/blue eyed gal didnt have it in her to smile and greet the us customer and handled us with a smug and disinterested attitude taking our order. My wife and I just looked at each other and shrugged. The dark haired manager had no time for us when asked to speak with her. we enjoyed the coffee and liked the ambience, but the gal and manager can use intense training on customer service 101 as they seem more interested in how cool they think they are than helping the customer to enjoy their visit in all manners in a maximum fashion. My wife comically added we will go to Chick fil A for coffee at least we get a wonderfull smile and greeting that we are there to spend our money. read more
