two slices of pizza on checkered paper

It's a little hard to see from the road and you need to be careful going in and out of parking because the road curves and you can't see far for cars. Got four types of toppings on three pizzas. Pepperoni, cheese, mushroom, and the works. All were very good. Pretty close to New York pizza. Toppings were high quality. There was quite a wait (40min) for the pizzas but it seems like a small place not made for pumping out lots of pizzas at once. Previous orders of just a single were pretty short wait (15min). There are not a lot of pizza places in the area but I'm glad what is here is very tasty.

A little hard to find, but it's right next door to the Market, in a small white building. It didn't look like it was open but there was a neon sign in the window which indicated that they were, indeed, OPEN. The restaurant appears to be family run, very clean, and they were very busy taking orders over the phone. We decided to have hamburgers and fries. Delish. While we were eating, we lost count of how many take outs went out the door. We overheard other patrons talking about how good the lasagna is (which they were out of) and also the calzones. Next time we come it will be for the Italian!

    Street sign.

We both wanted iced tea, and we ordered appetizers. Bruschetta Toasted Italian bread with tomato, onion, basil mix with drizzle of balsamic glaze. Caprese, sliced fresh romas, wet mozzarella, fresh basil, and the best balsamic vinegar ever!!! Hubby had a side salad, and I had a side Caesar. My specialty dish Meatballs caponata Five meatballs (veal, beef , pork) Served on top of Sautéed garden veggies (eggplant, green, red yellow bell peppers and caramelized onions) Topped with a touch of marinara, all on top of spaghetti, served with garlic bread Hubby had Spaghetti Marinara & Meatballs, Spaghetti cooked in home made marinara, garlic, fresh basil, Parmesan cheese and topped with 5 veal, beef, pork meatballs, he also had a small side salad The restaurant is run by a wonderful family, who take care of all your needs to a tee. The food is bursting with flavor, good portions.

I ordered the seafood pasta and asked if extra squid could be added in place of the scallops and mussels. When my dish arrived, I was disappointed to find there was no calamari included at all. If that had been mentioned when I placed my order, I would have chosen the pesto pasta instead. That said, the food itself was very good, and our waitress was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. They also brought us a complimentary slice of strawberry mascarpone cake to make up for the inconvenience, which was a thoughtful gesture and very much appreciated.

We've been searching…read morefor an Italian restaurant that really reminded us of the quality and flavor we were used to back home, and that we too cook at home. We finally found it at Ristorante DellaSantina and I can't believe we hadn't heard of this place before! My husband ordered the Filet Special, which came with two 4 oz. filets, shrimp, and a choice of pasta. He chose the capellini with their Valentino sauce, and everything was fantastic. The filets were perfectly tender and seasoned beautifully (enough seasoning to enhance the flavor of the meat without overpowering it). The shrimp and pasta were excellent as well. He also tried the Pecan Old Fashioned, which was definitely on the sweeter side but still very good. It was gentle enough for me to enjoy, although probably a little too bite-free for my husband, who prefers his drinks with a little more punch. He also ordered a blue cheese dirty martini and was thrilled that it was made with real blue cheese. He absolutely loved it. He finished with the salted caramel cappuccino, which was fantastic. I had the lasagna, and it was delicious. The sauce very clearly tasted homemade, and that made all the difference. We each chose the Caesar salad that came with our meals, and it was actually a really pleasant surprise as it was incredibly flavorful and much better than the typical obligatory side salad you get at a restaurant. I also had an espresso martini, and it was perfect. We started with the bruschetta, which was good, but then came a really nice surprise: warm focaccia bread provided complimentary. That focaccia was wonderful and such a thoughtful touch. For dessert, we shared the tiramisu. It was very good, although I personally would have liked a stronger espresso flavor. We also ordered cannolis to take home, so we'll get to enjoy those later! Honestly, I don't have anything bad to say about this restaurant. From the food to the drinks to the little touches, everything felt thoughtful and genuinely well done. Our server Lexus was wonderful. We will absolutely be back. I'm just kicking myself that it took us this long to discover Ristorante DellaSantina. If you're looking for truly good Italian food in East Tennessee, this place deserves your attention!

We had some time to kill before our reservation so we went down to the speakeasy for a few and then up to the rooftop. Each area had different drinks so of course I had to order one from each. I was drinking mocktails btw. Not sure if the alcoholic options were different. My most favorite was the corn silk. It's seasonal though. We finally made it to our table and I was welcomed with a card signed by everyone and fresh flowers on the table. Since we did wait past our reservation time, we received complementary bread service which was homemade focaccia with marigold butter. Definitely recommend; it was amazing. I also received a birthday gift of veggies - okra and shishito peppers, I believe. I LOVE veggies so this was special to me. But then I also got the most amazing soft serve of corn and peppers with a tomato jam. Aside from it being my birthday and all the special things we got, the food was also amazing. We got the bone marrow tots to share, then I got the campanelle pasta. I forgot what my husband got but everything was just so so so sooooo amazing!! Our server was also amazing too. It's like everyone we met was just so happy we were there. And it was a genuine happy too. I felt so welcome there and we loved it so much we came back the next night too. I had to try the chanterelle mushroom gelato, but was too full the first night so I got it the second night along with more corn silk. The gelato was amazing btw. I don't think I've ever had chanterelle mushrooms, but now I can wait to eat them. We're home now but we are already planning our next trip back and would like to stay at the hotel next time. Definitely our new favorite place ever!

So we walked into Luminosa underdressed, absolutely soaking wet, and looking like we had just been rescued from a shipwreck. This is a really nice restaurant, so at this point I was pretty convinced either we weren't getting seated or my friends were going to spend the rest of their marriage talking about the dinner I ruined. I explained the situation to the staff and they could not have handled it better. No judgment, no making us feel out of place, nothing but an insane level of hospitality from the second we walked in. They even sent out a few dishes on the house. Our server Riley was phenomenal. Riley knew the menu inside and out, gave us all the information we needed without overexplaining everything, and never steered us wrong once. We basically put our dinner in Riley's hands, and that was probably the biggest reason the meal turned out as well as it did. And the food was fucking incredible. Not "we're drunk on a wedding weekend and everything tastes good" incredible. Every single one of us said it was one of the best meals we've ever had. And I don't say that because my culinary experience is limited to Applebee's and the Cheesecake Factory. I went to probably half the restaurants on the Michelin Guide while I was in Asheville, live in Atlanta where I've eaten at plenty of Michelin-recognized restaurants, and have been fortunate enough to eat at Michelin restaurants outside the US. Luminosa was still one of the best meals I've had anywhere. I walked in thinking I had completely screwed up dinner and walked out looking like a genius for picking the restaurant. I will be taking full credit for that and giving none to the tornado or Riley.
