I made a reservation at Vincent Chicco's on 5/25 for my birthday, 6/2 (over a week in advance) We received our confirmation text that our table was ready and got to the restaurant on time. The hostess informed us she accidentally sat another party at our reserved table. She then asked if we'd want to sit at the bar. Again, it's my birthday and I made this reservation over a week ago. We declined sitting at the bar top and she sat us at a two top. We sat with no one acknowledging us for 15 minutes. No water or any greeting. I got up to ask a nearby server if someone was assigned to that table and he said they're "rotating" serving that table tonight and they're busy so no one's taken it. The bartender was short with me and unhelpful. We elected to leave and eat somewhere else. This was so disappointing especially considering we chose to celebrate my birthday here. I come from the fine dining business and the lack of care, hospitality, and professionalism was just unbelievable. read more

It's an attractive Italian Restaurant and we were very exicted to eat here. We arrived at 5:30 pm because we had a show at 7 pm. We had stuffed mushrooms that were quite good. The chicken parmiagana had too much cheese and we found a few spaghetti noodles that were clumped together. I had linguine with seafood and it was a bit oily but flavorful. The waiter Andrew was pleasant as was our waitress. Andrew made my husband a drink they did not have and I had the house white wine. Overall good but I was a bit underwhelmed with the food. It used to be one of our favorites but it's not the same. We went there to celebrate my son's birthday. Ordered an Aperol spritz and they gave me what was essentially an Aperol flavored malt beverage. Pre made one bottle version rather than mixing the drink. How hard is it to add a shot of Aperol to a glass and top with Prosecco and splash of soda water? Just lazy to me. Next, we get seated and order drinks that we waited for 20 minutes to get. Then clams were not cleaned properly so they had sand in them. The bruschetta was ice cold. Chicken parm was so cold that the cheese was solid on top of it and kept falling off. Cacio Pepe with chicken was not saucy like it was in the past. It was pasta with cheese sprinkled on it. Gave three stars because my husband enjoyed the catch of the day which was swordfish and our server was very nice. The rest was not good so it will be a good while before we return again. This was our first time trying Vincent Chiccos and will not be our last. Amazing food with a gorgeous environment and the staff was so helpful and on top of everything. The Bruschetta was the perfect start to the meal, as well as the basket of bread with olive oil provided. We decided to split the crab linguine and that was probably the best decision of the night. Tons of crab meat and the pasta was scrumptious! All three entrees were delicious and the custard biscotti and tiramisu were the perfect touch of sweet to end the meal. Really enjoyed my dinner at Vincent Chicco's! On a Friday night during prime time, we found a parallel parking spot right around the corner for free. We made a reservation in advance and were seated right away. The decor for Xmas was so cute inside! We told our server we were starving and he had bread on the table right away-- king. We ordered pretty fast, and our food was out in no time -- literally in 20 min and it was delicious. Recommend the crab linguine and the spaghetti and meatballs! read more

At the risk of sounding as if I am exaggerating, this was the most excellent eggplant Parmesan I have ever had. The sauce was wonderfully rich and thick but not heavy. The eggplant was cooked to perfection. I started with a large salad (I don't remember the name) that was spicy but very tasty and included 2 delicious pieces of fresh mozzarella. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was perfect for a special occasion. However, I couldn't help but feel that the food was overpriced for what we received. While it was good, it didn't quite live up to the high price point. That being said, the overall dining experience was still enjoyable and memorable. Wow! This was my first time visiting this amazing city and I was looking for a nearby Italian restaurant, with old city charm. I found that and more!! From the moment I turned down the cutest alley and then walked through the front door. I was greeted and welcomed by such an amazing staff of people. I was dining alone and sat at the bar and was regaled by the history of this restaurant by their unbelievable bartender Sean. He made me feel like I was dining with friends and all of the staff stopped over to chat. Now the food....SO tasty. I wish I had the time and appetite to try everything but I decided on the bruschetta and the pesto gnocchi and very much enjoyed both. I can't wait to come back and visit. We purchased dinner tickets through the Charleston Music Hall as part of a dinner and a show promotion the offer. I called and made my reservation, confirming the time I made would be good before the show. The note on the website states and hour and a half would be good. The person who answered wasn't very polite. The day of the show, our Uber was running behind so I called to let the restaurant know. They put a manager on the phone who was rude and told us we'd have to decide what we wanted before we arrived because they will need to rush for us if we wanted to make the show on time (in the building right next door). We arrived and placed our order. The drinks were absolutely delicious but took forever to come out as the bartender was also our waiter so he had to make all the bar drinks before he could get back to us. We ended up ordering two at once so we didn't have to wait later on. They had plenty of wait staff around so I'm not sure what was going on. I asked another waiter for bread at some point, which he seemed annoyed by. We never got it... even asking our waiter when he came back. The food is where most of the stars come from. They offer a prix fixe menu for the show combo. It was absolutely delicious. We had the caprese salad and Caesar salad as appetizers. The flavors were spot on and you could tell that it was all freshly made. The main course we had pasta primavera and the pork tenderloin. Ohmysweetgoodness. Each one was amazing. We didn't get to try our dessert. We ordered it and then our waiter got busy at the bar... So we asked someone else. Still didn't get it. Then we found the manager, who was already rude to us and visibly annoyed, who asked if we wanted it in a to go box. We didn't since we were going to the show. It is seriously the cutest place, down a little cute walkway, a little tough to find, our uber driver was a bit confused, but we found it. The bread they served complimentary (which we have found in this post covid world is not always the case) was really good (or we were kind of tipsy???) but I'll go with good, fresh, warm, good dipping oil. My mom and sister shared a Caesar salad and they said it was good. Then the 3 of us shared gnocchi and a pizza with pear and prosciutto on it. The next couple came in, and in spite of a totally vacant restaurant , they were seated immediately next to us. Our tables shared a bench seat. They were loud and complained about everything. My husband and I do not get out to nice places very often, and this is unacceptable. Not one patron came in the entire time and the entire dinner was us and the super obnoxious couple sitting just feet away. The other complaint is that our entrees arrived shortly after we got our salads, and the table was so small it wasn't big enough for both. We literally sent away our beet salads so we had room for the entrees. There were quite a few google reviews that mentioned this happening , or worse , the salads coming after the entree. This is restaurant 101, bring food after salad is finished. We will defiantly come back for the food and excellent service , but hope that they realize that sitting two couples that close in a vacant restaurant , especially in a pandemic, is crazy. read more

Definitely not worth the effort to eat here with so many great places in Charleston. Went with a party of 6 and we were seated upstairs. The service was fine but the food was pricey. I got the Sunday gravy and it wasn't hot when it came to the table. They probably need to heat the plates or something because by the time the food gets upstairs it isn't even close to being hot. Our friends raved about the oysters. They also add the "convenience fee" if you use a credit card. The prices here are high enough that charging you extra to pay with a card just adds insult to injury. I guess when one company owns every restaurant in the alley, that is how it goes. After a downright disappointing experience at Coast (just a few weeks ago) I wasn't completely sold on checking out another establishment among the Holy City Hospitality Group's offerings along the Alley; however, Vincent Chicco's Restaurant Week's menu (3 courses for $35.00) looked decent enough so it was an easy sell to our 3 besties (and frequent dining companions) who were going to join us for dinner. We easily found handicapped accessible parking right across the street and I was pleased to see that they prepared seating that would easily accommodate our wheelchair bound dining companion. We were immediately approached by our adorable, friendly and (as we would learn very quickly) knowledgeable server, Adrianna. During the course of the introductions and the usual "what brings you to Charleston" Michael announced that we were at the restaurant to celebrate my birthday. (It's actually a few days away but this day worked for Jim and Jane.) Our drink order was simple ... a Zig Zag Bloody Mary for me (it's my cocktail of choice these days) two Tanqueray and Tonics, a Jamie and Ginger and a California Red for my hub. The cocktails, were well made, came quickly as did two orders of fresh focaccia, dipping oil and little bowls of rock salt and freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Joe, Jim, Jane and Michael each ordered from the Restaurant Week Menu. As I pass on desserts these days, I opted to order just two courses, ala carte. Joe's Caesar was right sized and tasty. He enjoyed the housemade croutons and creamy dressing. Jim, Jane and Michael ordered the Caprese Salad and all agreed it was fresh tasting with two generous slices of juicy heirloom tomatoes, hand pulled mozzarella and basil that was nicely balanced with just the right amount of a balsamic vinegar drizzle. My ala carte ($9.00) Caprese? A show stopper! Three slices of juicy heirlooms layered with basil, that wonderful hand pulled mozzarella, a dollop of a dreamy, creamy whipped feta and ricotta cheese blend and drizzles of balsamic and olive oil. Wow! Michael loved his entree, the Shrimp Gamberoni ... a nice sized portion of house spaghetti and large shrimp tossed in a garlic, white wine and butter sauce. Not a morsel was left in the bowl thanks to an extra portion of the delicious, chewy Foccaccia. Joe, Jim and Jane each ordered the Steak Pizzaiola and unfortunately, this selection was the weakest part of the meal. The dish was colorful and nicely plated; however, the portion of steak was disappointing ... three small slices of beef smothered with green peppers and onions that were blended in a tomato sauce and served with a huge slice of Foccaccia that was topped with melted mozzarella. They were disappointed ... but, then again, this entree was a Restaurant Week selection that does not appear on the ala carte menu ... oh well. My main course, the Fresh Catch of the Day was spectacular ... a real head turner ... an ample portion of perfectly prepared pan roasted swordfish that was served on a bed of orzo, blended with fresh spinach, house pickled watermelon and pomegranate arlis that popped open in my mouth. Every mouthful from this beautiful fish was delish and the price ... very competitive at $32.00. Everyone (except me) ordered the Marscapone Citrus Panna Cotta ... served with a raspberry confit and almond biscotti ... a light and perfect ending. It was a nice touch when Adrianna returned with (what seemed like) a huge piece of flourless chocolate torte (served with whipped cream) topped with a burning candle and joined in when the table sung happy birthday to me. After Michael created food art on the just about clean birthday cake plate, we settled the bill and said our goodbyes for the evening. Joe and I loved the vibe in the classy, well appointed dining room, the attentive service and agreed that the menu and its execution had enough merit to return ... soon! read more

This restaurant was fantastic. It's located in a small alley, very reminiscent of something you may find in Europe. It's all the way at the end of the alley so if you think you're lost, just keep going. I arrived early for dinner so I grabbed a drink at the Victor Social Club right next door (I believe they are the same owner). This was also a superb little spot with gorgeous interior. I had a glass of the Trefethen Dry Riesling which was fantastic! My wine palette has changed as I've gotten older, and this wine really hit the spot with a refreshing crispness with hints of your typical Riesling sweetness. The service was great. Very attentive staff and the manager even came by to check and see how everything was. The atmosphere is upscale, Italian restaurant, yet cozy as another Yelper noted. We ordered the bruschetta for the table. All the bread is made in house and it's super tasty! The bruschetta is incredibly flavorful (I highly recommend). I ordered the linguine ai frutti di mare. I wasn't surprised by the price because it's a seafood dish, but I was surprised by the portion! The bowl was huge and I had to take most of it home. The linguine was perfectly cooked al dente. We finished with a slice of carrot cake. While I wasn't thrilled with the carrot cake, it was still tasty, but I'd order a different dessert on my next visit. read more

In order to refill our drinks, I had to go to the bar. The food was terrible. I ordered the Veal Marsala, which was advetised as crispy crust and tender. When it came to the table, it was drowned in sauce and the meat was so tough, I even had trouble cutting it with a steak knife. The cut of veal was very poor. I had a wonderful experience here about a month ago and have been thinking about it since! I chose to try this place for my 21st birthday, and it did NOT disappoint! I had heard great things from different people, and it truly lived up to the expectation. I had made a reservation online to ensure I had a table, mostly because I wasn't sure how busy they would be. When we walked in, the hostess was extremely friendly, even wishing me a happy birthday multiple times through the night! Our waitress (which I feel terrible for forgetting her name!) was EXTREMELY nice and was always checking up on us. The food was absolutely delicious! My friend got the White Pizza and let me snag a bite. It was superb! I had the Shrimp Linguine which I am still dreaming about to this day! One of the best pasta dishes I've ever had! Lastly, we split the Flourless Chocolate Torte and WOW! I highly recommend if you're a chocolate fanatic like me!
