I have been to this place about half a dozen times. The service is good and fast and food is usually pretty good. Why the 3 stars? Earlier this week I had Tri Tip with mashed potatoes and salad from Vince's and within a couple of hours had severe stomach upset and Diarrhea! (I had nothing else that day other than my regular Kellogg cereal in the morning which was many hours before anyway). After 2 days my stomach is still upset but recovering. Ordered the "Killer" sandwich. I asked for a fountain drink. I was told they aren't serving fountain drinks; understandable. They were out of several bread options, which seems strange at 1pm. Sandwich was dry, but okay. As I ate my sandwich on the patio, a server came out and delivered two fountain drinks to other customers. Just rude? Racist? The day I came in the lunch special's were Grilled chicken salad, Walnut prawn fried rice, and fried chicken with mac & cheese but I was in the mood for sandwich so I opted for the California Turkey (with cheese added, $.55). The sandwich was alright, with some avocado and a lot of sprouts. However, the bread was not toasted. Who makes a sandwich with cold bread? I wasn't even offered to get the bun toasted, which is very usually for a sandwich place. If you get a sandwich, make sure to ask them specially to toast the bread. Here in Fremont for work... I've been to Vince's twice and both times it has been great. A few days ago I tried their turkey club sandwich and chicken and rice soup. Today I tried one of their specials - braised short ribs over pasta. This was pretty phenomenal. Their specials come with soup or salad so I tried one of today's special soups as well - chicken tortilla. That soup is delicious! Probably the best chicken tortilla soup I've had. They post their daily specials on their website every morning. Man, I should come down here more often, but their hours are very short only from 7:30 in the morning till 3:30 in the afternoon what a bummer and closed on the weekends. It's located in Fremont's business/office parking lot and companies they caters to. Enough said the food was outstanding along with their prompt service and friendly staff. Order the grill hamburger with fries and salad on the side and a salami sandwich with lettuce, swiss cheese and onions on wheat bread. Water is free they provide the cups by the drinks otherwise you're paid for a bottle water. Not as many people then again I came in around 11 right before the lunch crowds. Very spacious interior I like the outdoor patio and there's plenty of them. It's really nice that they bring the food to you than getting it yourself. Definite 5 and I can see why this place is rated very highly among Yelpers. Prices are very reasonable and there's plenty of parking spaces. read more

Vince's Cafe is definitely a hole in the wall. I didn't know about this place when I first started working around the area, and any other colleagues I introduce this place to usually doesn't either. But every single time, the people I show Vince's Cafe to end up enjoying it, and with good reason! They have daily menus that are updated.. well, every day. Every time I come here I always get something from the daily menu, and you really get the most bang for your buck with it. The proportions are pretty decent and comes with a soup that you can choose so this should fill you up for the rest of your work day. Parking is plentiful, and there's always seating. The staff itself is quick and responsive as well. I noticed that the daily menus tend to be the same thing every (other) week or so. Adding new selections would only make this place better. I've been working in the area for over 3 years and I had no idea this place existed! My coworker recommended Vince's...he said his group used to go as often as once a week for lunch. I really wish yelp had a 1/2 star system...I would give Vince's 3 1/2 stars. When we arrived, I was surprised to find a very large cafe with a nice outside seating area. The menu was a wide assortment of sandwiches, salads, soups, and specials of the day. The specials include more "entree"-like dishes: pastas, salmon, etc. I tried the Killer Sandwich which was really delicious. My coworkers also enjoyed their meals. I would definitely go back again and try another sandwich or entree. I can't say that I've tried the whole menu, but what I have tried has always been delicious. I came a couple days ago and got their salad special (which is ALWAYS top notch). It was a grilled chicken salad with slivered almonds, blue cheese, carmelized onions, strawberries, and grilled chicken. DIVINE. Honestly, where do they get their strawberries this time of year?? They're so sweet! They always pile on the extras not the greenery like so many places do. and for $9! It's TOTALLY WORTH IT. Finally! A salad that ACTUALLY keeps me full! I've had their sandwiches, soups, and salad catered in for our company nearby and everything is just as tasty as if I'd gotten a personal order for lunch. I have been coming to Vinces for years and LOVE their food. My all time favorite is Honey Walnut Prawns special and their Salmon Wraps... they are to die for! They change up their specials everyday and they're always great, but you have to beat the lunch time crowd because they sell quick. Vince's is, normally, just a breakfast and lunch cafe/deli located in an industrial park. As such, they serve excellent food and the menu is varied to cover almost everyone's needs. The prices are reasonable and this place provides a really good value. The neighborhood is lucky to have such a place. But, what you don't know is that the owner, Joe, is capable of excellent Chinese food. He opened up on a Sunday night for a buffet Chinese dinner following a charity golf tournament up at Sunol Valley. Appetizers were Vegetarian Egg Rolls, Potstickers and Chinese Chicken Salad. This was followed by a buffet line of Honey Walnut Prawns, Asian Fried Chicken, a vegetable stir fry w/canned abalone, Peking Ribs and White Rice. Dessert was Chinese Doughnut (with sweet filling) and Fresh Almond Cookies. The stand out was the Asian Fried Chicken. Everyone thought it was Chinese Roast Chicken in the classic style of Chinese Roast Duck. When I asked him why he called it "Fried Chicken," he confirmed that it was deep fried. It was so very good - moist, superb flavor, great texture, nice skin! So, why am I telling you this when he's not open for dinner and does not feature any of the above on his menus? Talk to him and I'd bet he would do this for a good sized catering job. He did say that he would do the Asian Crispy Fried Chicken if he got an order for 3 or 4 whole chickens. A hidden deli along Fremont Boulevard. For a business district that really doesn't have much near it (unless you drive 5-10 minutes away), this is a popular spot amongst the locals that are strapped for time during their lunch hour. It looks like it's located in an old start up business complex, however it's been converted to a decent deli with a very large patio for outdoor seating. Vince's offers a great selection of food for breakfast and lunch. From your bacon and eggs in the morning to soups, salads, sandwiches, and pastas for lunch, they're really a full fledged deli. Everything is made fresh daily, and I've grown quite fond of their soups. They have a great selection of sandwiches on a wide assortment of breads. Their pastas are decent and the salads OK. For a deli, nothing is really outstanding here. I'd probably order the soups more than anything else. Besides that, it's just your normal deli that offers a wide variety of options, which is great considering there aren't really that many options close by for the local business folk. The big thing about Vince's that keeps them alive and kicking as well is their catering services. They cater to all business and residential for any sized event and are pretty reliable.
