I did my negotiating over e-mail. JD was the person I dealt with. He was very responsive. I made it clear that for the price they were asking, this car had better be in the range of KBB "Excellent" Condition. He told me every detail I could think of about the car. He even sent me pictures, unprompted, of the scratches the car had on the exterior so I wouldn't waste my time coming out there if it was below my standards (it was an eight year old car, so several minor scratches were within my range of expectations). I went down and test drove it, had them drive it to a local mechanic to inspect it a couple of days later, and then had them pick me up at the train station when I came back to buy the car a few days later. In all, I don't think I was physically at the dealership for more than an hour total in both in-person visits combined. That included signing paperwork, running my credit for a check, getting plates, etc. Apparently, we both had better things to do. Worked for me! The car I bought, after about 700 miles, appears to be in impeccable condition. I haven't found one flaw I wasn't aware of when I bought it. They were upfront about the fact that they offer a very limited warranty (it may have been the state-mandated minimum) and that they didn't make any promises beyond that. I can't vouch for what they do when the car has problems simply because I haven't had any, nor did they promise to take care of any problems if I did have any, beyond the warranty. On the price, they gave me a fair deal, not a great deal, but I can't downgrade them for that. They would have gotten what they were asking for the car, and they actually came down substantially from their initial asking price (which was egregiously high). As anyone who has looked for a second- or third-generation Honda Fit in good shape knows, these things sell like crazy and the sellers have all the leverage. Even the private sellers know it. I looked for about nine months before I settled on this car. Most of the ones I walked away from were because the seller wouldn't meet my price, often by a few hundred dollars, sometimes more. On this one, I came up a few hundred from what I had been offering and I got the deal done, so it was probably a fair price. In no way did I feel disrespected by this dealership, but I should say, I guess I don't care how I'm treated at a car dealership. My advice: if you want your ego soothed, go buy a dog, it's your cheapest option. Going to a car dealership to get your ego coddled is one of the more expensive options I can think of. We played a bit of hardball with each other, but I respect how they did business and I will look there again if they have a car I want. read more

I needed a car quick and Mike K and his sales and service professionals were there to help! I went there and found a car within an hour, they were friendly and listened to what I needed. They didn't force me to look at or buy anything I wasn't interested in. I bought a 1999 Honda Civic hatch and although it had high miles it fit my budget. One week after my purchase the check engine light came on and the car was running poor. I went back to them because they have in house, honda trained technicians. The service guys were great. Although I had to authorize a diagnostic charge because I bought the car as is, they found the problem within an hour. They spoke with the sales managers(Mike and Charlie) and even though I didn't ask (yet) for assistance they repaired the car at no cost to me! My car is running great still. All I can say is that these guys at the Used Car Superstore are phenomenal! I, like several people, was hit with hard times during the last Economic Crisis we had. The Sales staff and the Managers were so helpful and worked real hard to help me. I know my situation was not the easiest and was problematic but they buckled down and made my new car affordable and to help me reestablish myself. I just found the best kept secret in Dupage County. Great selection of used cars coming in daily from 5 new car dealerships all owned by the same owner. Prices are more than fair. It is obvious they need to sell quickly to make room for the fresh daily trades coming in. My salesperson Tom B was extremely helpful. He let me test drive all the vehicles I had interest in and then helped me arrange the financing. No pressure, no games, no hidden fees, just the way it should be. UPDATE: I have now had my car for about a year now and I have had to have my rotors, spring coils, oil pan gasket, and axels fixed. I have spent more than $1,000 fixing it, and that is in addition to the Protective auto care plan that I paid for. The auto care plan does not even cover half of the repair costs, despite claiming that it includes everything but cosmetics. I have had to take my car in numerous times and will definitely not be returning to Lisle superstore. Next time I will be going to a dealer that sells precertified vehicles. read more

We purchased our car 2 years ago at the used car superstore in Lisle .We were pleasantly surprised to find out that they service all makes and models there and will only bring our 2005 Grand prix there for service. The prices are reasonable and the service couldnt be better ! Being a woman its important to me to go where I trust the people. On Saturday 4/19/2014 I came in for an oil change and to have a noise checked out. Turned out to be very minor and was an every easy fix.
