We were visiting a nearby restaurant but stopped here as the other one had crazy wait. This turned out to be a nice little surprise. They are a bit disoriented with their management though. We struggled to find a table and service was highly lacking - it was chaotic to be precise. This place has a cute ambience and it can do better with efficient management. However, once we got the table and were able to place our order, everything fell in place. The food was tasty , a lot better than I expected. The pinsas that we got were both very good. There was so much to love about this location. The food is top-notch, especially for gluten free people like me. Everything, including the pasta, is made on-site. The portions were very large and intensely delicious. The service was very pleasant, maybe a little on the busy side, but the guy that helped us was super-nice. As for the detractors, the price was pretty steep. $120 for lunch isn't usually my price point. However, it was an amazing meal and we hope to get some for our more lavish events. The only other negative side is that the parking was a nightmare. I would have only taken off a half-point for these things because the food almost entirely made up for it. The price is high for the care and attention paid to each dish. The parking isn't really their fault, but it does suck a lot. I look forward to dining with them again. read more

A friend and I decided to try out Vitaly Caffe since she was craving Italian food as we were walking around The Camp. You order at the register, take a seat, and staff brings your food to your table. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. However, the tables outside were a bit dirty and did not have utensils or napkins. We wanted to sit outside though, so we easily dusted off the table before sitting. I got the pinsa rustica, a pizza with pieces of potatoes and herbs, and my friend ordered the ravioli with tomato and basil. My pizza was ok, but a bit dry. My friend enjoyed her pasta and finished the whole thing. I don't think I'd come back. The food was ok and service was meh, but there are probably better restaurants on-site. read more

I know I was coming here during my college days and Vitaly is one of the few businesses at the Camp that has been there since the Camp opened! IYKYK!!! I love this family owned restaurant cafe. Vibe is good and chill. Love their gelato and coffee and food is high quality and so delicious. I hope they stay here forever because they are one of the personality and backbone of The Camp! I visited this cafe with several members of my family for breakfast. The location is charming, in The Camp. Cute shops, winding paths, artwork, and lush plantings. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Italian cuisine is their specialty. Indoor and outdoor patio seating available. On this weekday morning, they seemed to have inadequate staff. Wait times for ordering and receiving food were slow. (One cook and two servers). They seem to have a hybrid of counter service and waiter table service. Our general impression was that pricing tended to be high. The food is good quality. Presentation is nice. One part sells coffee and pastries, another serves gelato, and it's a full blown restaurant if you'd liked to dine in. I ordered the $3.80 larger iced drip coffee - it was nicely sized for the price and came out quickly. The service here is friendly and fast. The outdoor, covered seating is cozy and feels very romantic. The inside has a homey atmosphere to it. Parking can be difficult due to the small parking lot. I have visited this vitaly location many times and always love the atmosphere. It's cozy and it's located in the camp so there's a lot of plants and you can smell the aromatics from the restaurant. Theres a small bakery and a sit down restaurant outside where you can order pizza, sandwiches, pasta, and Italian drinks like espresso, lattes, and wine. We got two pastas the lasagna made with a green pasta and the tagliolone which was superb and unique. It has a tomato base, squid ink pasta, some seafood, and it was something I have never tried before. Something was off about the lattes both the pumpkin spice and the chai- had a very bitter taste or maybe the issue was the milk. Overall, I had a great Italian lunch and I will come back to try one of their sandwhiches and gelato. read more

Charming outdoor seating and space at The Camp. Unfortunately, the food fell short. I ordered the Contadina Piadina. The Piadina bread was really disappointing. It was not like a true Piadina bread. Piadina's Piadina is much better. The chicken was breast instead sliced and it was very dry. Overall the sandwich was quite bland. Service was a little slow. I haven't been to Vitaly Caffe in a while. It was nice to be back! I made a reservation for a Sunday and wasn't sure if it would be busy (it wasn't because it was a gloomy day). I love to sea that they had a reserved table set up for us right near the fire. It was thoughtful, since it was chilly out. My favorite thing about Vitaly is their delicious coffee drinks, gelato, and pastries! It's a great location with great food. My only negative today was the meal I ordered. I got an egg dish and they were really watery and didn't taste very good - had an odd flavor. I'd also love to see some French toast or more sweet brunch items. One of our favorite restaurants. Owners and servers are so kind and helpful, and the food is always 5 stars. My parents are regulars here and they always make us feel very special. You can choose from the indoor dining room or outdoor patio. There's a nice fireplace on the patio which is nice for a larger group. Some of our favorite dishes are the Vitaly Pizza, Vitaly Salad, Spaghetti Vesuvio, Lasagna Bolognese and Gnocchi. Actually everything is delicious! You can't go wrong with any dishes. Anyway nestled in the cozy camp is Vitaly an Italian eatery. We had a plain white flatbread pizza thing for our appetizer. It's like a cheese pita with very strong rosemary flavor. One of my fave herbs. Delicately baked and perfectly delish as is but you may want to add some more EVO, balsamic and some fresh grated parmigiana. I had the sausage and mushroom cream sauce with spaghetti that was textured like ramen noodles. Probably a home made recipe. Delicious. My friend had the ravioli which they accommodated an adjustment to make the sauce creamy instead of plain tomato. It looked delicious. For dessert, who can resist Tiramisu in a cup. Too sweet for me unfortunately but you sweet-toothed folks will enjoy it. Such a cute venue. And the servers were very friendly and welcoming. Worth a try! read more

Vitaly Caffé is a low key gem, especially if you care about good gelato. The gelato is creamy, rich, and legit. The pistachio and tiramisu are the standouts and taste straight out of Italy. We shared the Mediterranean Burrata salad (Arugula, Burrata, Prosciutto di Parma, Cherry tomatoes - Come with a slice of Bread) which was amazing! We also ordered the Chalet (San Marzano Tomato Sauce, Sausage, Caramelized Onion, Mushrooms, Mozzarella, Garlic Evo, Shaved Parmigiano, Parsley) and the Vitaly (San Marzano Tomato Sauce, Prosciutto di Parma, Mozzarella, Burrata Stracciatella, Cherry Tomatoes, Arugula, Balsamic Glaze') both pizzas were great but I think the Chalet was the favorite. This was my first visit to the restaurant after picking up my car from a nearby dealership in Newport. I arrived around 6:35 p.m. and was told by a waitress to wait. Noticing several empty tables, I took a seat and waited for assistance. After a few minutes, a group of five guests arrived, and the same waitress immediately attended to them--providing water and taking care of their needs; while I was still waiting. Eventually, I had to call over another server to place my order and request a glass of water. As an Asian customer, this experience made me feel overlooked and unwelcome. The difference in service raised concerns for me about fairness and equal treatment. Still my favorite Italian restaurant in Orange County. I love their gelato flights. their cannolis and all their pastries but their food is also really good especially their San Daniele pasta. I've tried to replicate that recipe at home so many times, but I just can't get it right. I've had their pizzas, their salad and their soups as well. All very good. He was friendly, knew the menu really well, and was very attentive (checking in on us periodically, but not the point where we felt uncomfortable). *Side note for his manager/ owner: as a business owner, It's hard to find a server that truly cares for their guests, as well as their workplace. * We came straight from the airport and enjoyed a nice time and breakfast on the patio. The party of 3 had avo toasts, salads, and mimosas. The place is really cute. They have tables inside with AC or outside if you want to enjoy some fresh air and people watching. We initially got there, walked in and was standing right in front of the barista (whom was busy but didn't even bother to greet us or make eye contact).... Upon entering, the server at the register was friendly and asked if we wanted to dine in or order at the register (not sure if that meant ordering the food then having it brought to the table or getting it to go?). We also didn't have menus so we had to grab them from the empty table next to us. Just a very confusing vibe when first entering. I got the fettuccini noodles with the porcini soft mushrooms, parmigiano, and olive oil with truffle. It was good at first bite but I got tired of it. It might have been too strong of a flavor that I wasn't a huge fan of. It was also very very oily. I got a stomachache later. But the fettuccini noodles were good, pretty thin but soft. I also sampled the salted caramel gelato which was good too but I wouldn't get a whole scoop because it was a bit too sweet. Overall, this place was alright. I probably wouldn't come back just because it was so expensive and I wasn't a fan of what I got. The whole service situation was confusing when first coming in too. My friend wanted the fried bread appetizer, and when she asked for it, the server said they were out. Not a huge deal - she picked something else. Then when it came time to order dinner, I asked for the vegan pasta, and turns out that wasn't available either. There was one other vegan option listed, and she said they were out of that too. At that point, I ended up just getting plain spaghetti and asked if I could add veggies, but apparently they roast everything together in the morning, so no luck there either. The food itself was bland and just didn't hit. One suggestion for the restaurant: if you're out of multiple things, it would really help to tell guests up front. That way people can make informed choices without having to rework their order three times. Would I come back? Probably not. read more
