A great place nestled indoors as well as outdoors (along the sidewalk although under a covering and plywood walls). Great food! Exceptional service! Great drinks! I was seated outdoors, with my back to the street. The only separation from myself and vehicle traffic and my side of the table was a plywood wall. Good solid Italian food and not too expensive so I recommend! Mussels with garlic wine sauce are tasty!! The arugula salad is delicious and super healthy. And first of all, let me say, our experience was mixed in with their speakeasy in the back, called the rendition room, so our taste of soured to both... At first, our waiter, Lorenzo, was really nice, but I definitely wouldn't say he's the best waiter. He kept forgetting things, never refilled water glasses, or brought extra cheese, or things of that nature that we requested. Also, his suggested "fire" food choices for entrées were not good. We were there for two friends, birthdays, and I told them that in my reservation, and they didn't mention anything about it. Also, for what we got, the drinks were not good, and the food and drinks were way over priced. My main frustration was that I told him no less than five times about our reservation at the speakeasy, and he promised to walk us back there every single time I mentioned it, except for the last two times, where he just ignored me completely. It's not that he didn't hear me, it's that he responded by saying some thing that was completely unrelated to me asking when we could go back to the speakeasy. Long story short, this place is sloppy... The food takes too long. The drinks are not good. The receptionist is not kind. The manager at least covered our first round of drinks for the speakeasy, but after waiting for well over 30 minutes in front of The bar, it was the least they could do. They need a better way to organize people waiting to get into the speakeasy... And to be honest, they need a better chef. read more

I'm really happy they have vegan food don't get me wrong, but it should've been clear that it's Daiya. This is very clearly a case of "offering just to offer." I'd rather have one great vegan option that's actually housemade than throwing Daiya in a pan and charging $30. Everyone knows Daiya's the worst of the vegan cheeses! read more

Our experience has been a bit of a hit and miss here. We used to be regulars at Vitello's. Staff are very friendly, the ambience and music specifically Friday- Sunday nights are very pleasant. However it is rather pricey for the quality of food you get. And we have had the wrong food/ dish handed to us on multiple occasions when picking up or had the food delivered. Staff/ managers have been helpful with wrong orders/ deliveries but I just wish they'd get the orders right. read more

My husband and I have been going to Vitello's for approximately 20 years, and we always order the plain cheese pizza, but this was the first time I ordered a lunch entree. Big mistake. Actually, it was the "Trio" (half sandwich, soup, and salad). Sounds tasty, right? Wrong. The salad was drenched in so much vinegar that it upset my stomach even after just a few bites, the split pea soup had a weird sour aftertaste, and the sandwich.........well, it was the best of the 3 by far but still missed the mark. The bread was barely toasted, and the turkey wasn't fresh roast turkey but deli-style cold-cut turkey that was overly salty. To the server's credit, he gave my husband his beer for free for the nasty food. It was 7 dollars, so much appreciated. Not so for the "Kitchen Appreciation Fee" which I asked to have removed from the check when the server couldn't explain why it was there in the first place. We're going to return to Vitello's for our usual pizza, but I don't want to chance ordering anything else on the menu. NOTE: This was around 12:30 PM on a Saturday and I saw around 6 or 8 customers in this large place while the rest of Tujunga Blvd was bustling. Many, many empty tables. We were here for the first time as we listen to an internet radio station Martini In The Morning who broadcast from here once a month. I wish we could have done it sooner! The garlic bread was wonderful, best I had in a long time. The lunch menu has lots of choices so it's tough to pick one item. My wife an I decided to split the chicken pesto sandwich... Great choice, great flavor. I love bourbon so I got the Old Fashioned and my wife got the Manhattan. Both exceptional but I give the edge to the O.F. it was worth the drive from Orange county. The food is okay. My friend and I wanted to try Vitello's because it looked very nice and classy. I saw a dish someone was eating as I passed by and thought it was worth a shot. We ordered the fries, Caesar salad, brussel sprouts, clam linguine, and carbonara. Our three sides came out pretty fast. They were okay. I think the Caeser salad was the best thing out of what we ordered. The fries were average and the brussel sprouts were also basic, but they had a nice caramelization to them. The carbonara i had ordered was honestly not that great. I've had carbonara in many other places and I have to say this one was very disappointing. I should've known better when I saw it said it would come with a poached egg. However, I was not expecting for it to taste purely of fried onion and egg. Carbonara does not use/need fried onion. It was completely overwhelming and undersold any taste of parmesan and pancetta that you could get from it. I didn't even finish it. Definitely not worth the 22 bucks. My friend has the Linguine and Clams. It was pretty good. Very spicy, but my friend likes spicy food a lot more so she definitely enjoyed it. Maybe I just didnt get a good dish, but if they mess up on something as simple as a Carbonara, I dont want to imagine their other dishes. read more

Eventually we just gave up and focused on the show which was very good in an effort to salvage the night. It just wasn't worth the time and effort to bring it to your attention at the time. I ordered some carbonara over the phone, and when I went to pick it up, they pulled a tilted bag crammed in a shelf by the front counter. When I checked the bag at home, half the sauce had leaked to the bottom of the bag. I'm sure they did not mean to store my takeout in a way that would ruin my order, but I do expect a bit more common sense. To top it off, the food was bland and thus simply not worth the relatively high prices. Seriously, I had to add salt at home. You are way better off going across the street to Aroma, may not have the ambience, but you'll get flavor AND more reasonable prices. read more

4 of us went for dinner Saturday Feb 15 and were very impressed. We ate in the upstairs section and it is fantastic. It seems similar to being in a private club back in the 40's or 50's. The acoustics are superb....even though it got quite crowded at its peak, the noise level was always very tolerable and we had no problem whatsoever talking/hearing. They had a singer and piano player and their level was also absolutely perfect (and the music was also really good!). The food and drinks were top notch. Our waiter, Will, was 5 star. He did a fantastic job taking care of us and also had a great sense of humor. There were also at least 3 managers who stopped by to check on us. Best salmon of my life, friendly staff, beautiful ambience, great location. Vitello's took me and my date in last minute as we had an unexpected reservation cancelled on us somewhere else. It turned out to go in our favor since we may have not tried this charming gem of a place otherwise. Ambience - Outdoor patio garden seating with spaced out tables to comply with COVID safety measures. Heat lamps plentiful and keeping everyone warm. Really unique setup and made for a wonderful experience. Food - Ordered a cobb salad and Tuscan salmon. The cobb salad was well-portioned and delicious with plenty of different ingredients and flavors to kick this meal off to a healthy start. Tuscan salmon was cooked to absolute perfection; crisp, savory, tender, absolutely melt-in-your-mouth and devoured within minutes. The light cream sauce was phenomenal and out of this world, complementing the main course including the bed of veggies beautifully. Staff - Our waitress checked in on us frequently along with other members of the staff to ensure we were good. Great service. They have a very convenient payment system set up at the end to read your card right away and getting your receipt instantly rather than having to wait to receive your card back. 5/5 read more

I come here once a week for lunch, sometimes twice a week, and then once a month to Feinstein's at Vitello's but I'll leave that review separately. Once upon a time, Vitello's was an old-fashioned Italian eatery of the classic kind and it was great. At some point in the last five years, they redid everything so that it's not as homey as it once was and they totally changed up the menu. But the food is still excellent, with a nice variety of choices, the wait staff is terrific, everyone seems to care, and they follow all the protocols during this crazy time, so you'll feel very safe and comfy there. I usually have the Caccia e Pepe, which is excellent, but they also do spaghetti and meatballs very well, and their pizza is surprisingly terrific. In fact, I've never really had a bum meal there. I love when restaurants treat their customers as if they mattered - there's nothing that feels better than that. read more

Vitello's has become a neighborhood favorite since moving to Studio City in December. The staff is friendly and offer outstanding service. Ambience is cute and the food...chefs kiss. One of the main things I love about this place is they offer vegan options. So far I've tried their Beyond Burger to which they have vegan cheese, Beyond Sausage and Peppers and also their pizza with Beyond Sausage and other veggies of my choosing. All incredible. They also have an extensive wine list. Score! Oh and they also offer outdoor dining. They have a tented area set up on the side of the restaurant, tables right in front and covered tables in a blocked off section on the street. I called to try to sit indoors and on the reservation it wasn't available but when we arrived the host asked us if we wanted to sit inside!! He was so nice, didn't get his name. Our server Jordan was very attentive as was everyone. I wanted the lobster ravioli but the photos on Yelp were several years ago and it's not available. This was a hard review to write as the staff was nice and the management even came to the table to check on us. However the prices are exhorbitant for the portions and more importantly the food was very lackluster. Of the 6 of us , no one thought the food was special or great in any way. In fact some felt it was bland and disappointing. The chicken parmigiana was small and dry. The Garlic bread had no garlic flavor and tasted pre made. The pasta was salty and bland. I think the pizza looked good. I would have spoken with management but my party felt It wasn't worth it . I love the neighborhood and wish it was more affordable and better quality. Disappointed and won't be back. $350 for 4 adults and two kids - it should have tasted a hell of a lot better. read more

I used to be a regular at Vitellos years ago. When it was GREAT ! One of the best Italian restaurants Around. Went there two nights ago. All we ordered was two salads and minestrone soup which was the worst I ever had. I expected it to be fresh and good it was worst than a can of progresso soup. And they give you a large bowl with just a cup size amount in the bowl what a rip off the soup was horrid. The salad was average and the only thing that was really good that we ordered was the garlic knots, I don't think I nor my friends will be returning to this place again. The bill was outrageous for what we ordered and the service was just average and the way they ask for a minimum tip of 20 percent I honestly didn't want to leave a tip at all for two small salads two small bowls of canned soup and a plate of six garlic knots with tip was $93. If the food was superb I would not complain but shame on Vitellos for changing things cutting back and making the food anything but Italian it was horrible. I do not recommend this place anymore and will not go back. I was extremely disappointed beyond belief! read more

We got the same server when we came, wish I got her name for this review but she's blonde and super sweet and is the best waitress ever... like if every waitress was like her the world would be great!
