    Cheese Slice

Is it the best pizza in the city? Probably not, but it hits the spot and has stayed consistent throughout the years. One thing I really like about this place is they advertise themselves as NJ/Philly style pizza and the flavors definitely remind me of home. It's also a nice vibe when eating in and feels slightly more elevated than a typical pizza shop. I really appreciated being waited on immediately. The guy working the counter was super friendly and brought my slice out to the table and offered to clean up my plate when I was leaving. Crazy how a little hospitality goes a long way. Crust: Solid undercarriage with minimal flop. I wish the crust itself had a little more char, but it's good for what it is. Sauce: Robust and flavorful. I don't love sweet pizza sauces and this place does a great job at creating something much deeper and complex than most LA spots. Cheese: Tastes good, but a little heavier than I like on my pies. Would be perfect with a slightly lower moisture cheese. Overall, I always enjoy the slices here much more than most in the area. Little less cheese and a little more char on the crust would get this to 5 stars.

Caprese Salad and Caesar Salad both very fresh and delicious

The food was delicious. The service was also very good. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday afternoon. Overall a great place to try. Definitely will come back to try the pizza or sandwiches.

I absolutely destroyed my pesto slice hahaha it came looking really nice! The ambiance here is so great. Fantastic spot to eat at while waiting for your laundry to be done next door. The vibes of staff were great. You can sit at bar or a table. Will definitely be back great quality pizza.

    Beanie and beard guy!

Pizza was great. Service was not. We were a group of six and told by the guy with long hair and glasses to clear our own table -- there were no other open spots. When we started doing that, the guy with the beanie and beard got upset and snapped at us for touching the dishes, saying we made him stop what he was doing to wipe the table. Both employees were rude and dismissive. One had time to chat with a friend at the bar but no time to offer decent service. We were also criticized for ordering by the slice instead of whole pies. I get that things can get hectic, but don't take it out on your customers. I regret leaving a tip because they didn't deserve the $3.... (20%)

Good pizza, not the greatest but very good. So I always judge pizza by the plain cheese pizza, being I grew up on pizza living in the Bronx makes me a tough guy to please! So had cheese pie and a margarita pizza I was not that crazy about, but the cheese was very good. We got there late on a Monday night just before closing. The service was great the gentleman behind the bar was very nice. Cool vibe inside, and probably a great place to drink and eat pizza. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Penne with pink sauce also had a meat slice not pictured

Food was great, prices fair, and service on pint. What's there not to love?!? I'm sorry for those who said their pizza was not crispy in all the right spots were you too busy gabbing that it got cold way later??? Seriously bc my pizza and my penne with pink sauce were definitely above the 3.5 star expectations I had. I'll Definitely be back when in the area. Seriously worth the stop!

Delicious. Just go. Really, stop reading, just go. Somewhat Upscale order up neighborhood pizza place, with surprisingly solid standard restaurant fare including tortellini, and an amazing baked ziti (they completely nailed this dish). They have a small but well curated the selection of beers on tap, as well as a full bar. The atmosphere is upscale though seating is basically at picnic tables and two tops. Very well lit, clean, spacious, the place just feels "fresh." Very friendly service. Definitely a go!

The portions were just okay...not super generous, but enough for everyone to get a decent amount. The only dishes I was disappointed with were the eggplant dip and banana pancake. I didn't really get much eggplant flavor from the dip, and it was pretty bland. The banana pancake wasn't really my favorite either. I didn't like the texture, and it didn't have much flavor. It came with butter, pistachio spread, and maple syrup, but I didn't think the pistachio crumbs really went well with the pancake. It also wasn't very fluffy. These were pretty much the only two dishes I didn't really enjoy. The mushroom pizza wasn't bad, but my favorites were definitely the pasta and calamari. You can never really go wrong with calamari, but the sauce that came with it was especially good and went really well with it, so we ended up ordering another one. The seating was honestly an issue for me. We were a party of 6, so I understand we needed a bigger table, but I noticed that pretty much all the tables around us were also seated with Asian guests. It reminded me of the situation at Great White, and I couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable. I didn't say anything at the time because I was with a big group and didn't want to make things awkward or ruin the experience for everyone. I also felt some microaggression from our first server. Thankfully, the server was later changed to a female server who was much friendlier and nicer, which made the rest of the experience better. Also, it was really hot in the standard dining area and there didn't seem to be any AC. If you're making a reservation, I'd definitely recommend asking for the sunset view seating if you can. I think that would make the experience much better.

It was during…read morethe beginning stages of the World Cup too, and there's a TV at the bar which was nice to watch the games. Happy hour is from 2-6p Monday through Friday at the bar only. I'm a big fan of sitting at the bar. The happy hour prices are really good, some of the best in town. Just an FYI, the dirty martini is not on happy hour. * Burrata: It was good, but he doesn't like tomatoes which kind of takes away from a good burrata if you don't have tomatoes. * Filet mignon tartare: This was delightful. I'd order this again and again. * Pesto gnocchi: This was my favorite dish of the day. It was so light and tasty. * Salamino flatbread: Flatbread is always a good choice and the burst of spice from the salami was great. * Arancini: These were a hit. I really liked these a lot. While the happy hour was great, I'd love to come back to Forma for dinner so I can try more things.

And by bad it wasn't that anything was wrong some folks just didn't like their dishes. 3) my wish is that we had the ability to be seated inside With such a large party we were sat in the back patio. Which would not have been bad except: 1) it was in an alley 2) you had to walk past multiple dumpsters to get to it 3) if you had to use the restroom you had to walk past those dumpsters twice in each trip 4) it was a hot day and the sun had us sweating until it went behind the buildings I would like to experience the restaurant from inside and get to see the pasta being spun on the cheese wheel instead of hearing about it. But for outside Forma did the best they can to make it feel homie. The food was all very enjoyable. The chicken meatballs. The burrata. The arancini. I had the branzino for my main. It was good not great but I was full off of the appetizers. We all shared the Cacio E Pepe and it was enjoyed. The short ribs was ordered a lot and not loved but the pastas seemed to be the stars of the night. The desserts were good. The gelatos were refreshing specially with the heat. The apple cake a nice twist. For drinks they have an abundance of spritz options. No real cocktails could be made as all their drinks are prebatched. That was disappointing. Prices were reasonable across the board and a good time had by all. Our server was Anso and he and team did a good job. If I was scoring off the alley seating it would be a one or a two star. But some folks like it out there. It's less noisy than inside. So my rating is a benefit of the doubt four star. Next time I have to sit inside.
