I had noticed that there were tons of imperfections on my Karma Revero's headlights that would not come off from wiping. I could see many marks on them during the day and it was even more visible during the night time when the headlights were turned on, making them look hazy. As a car guy, this bothered me. I am very cautious as to who I let touch my car, but when I saw Vivid Headlight's perfect reviews, I had to give them a call. Note that I called a few other places and sent them pictures of my issue, but they had told me that it was not fixable and that I should purchase new headlights for $1,300 each. But when I called Shaw at Vivid, he knew exactly what the problem was and guaranteed that he could fix it. Shaw diagnosed the problem and told me that there were lots of chipping on the surface of the headlight. He was able to book me an appointment for the next day. Shaw arrived at my house exactly on time and was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I felt safe with him working on my car the entire time. He worked on the headlights for a little over 3 hours, and they looked flawless afterwards. The difference is night and day, as you can see in the pictures attached. (will be back to update after one year) TLDR; do your car a favor and get those headlights professionally restored to avoid headache of redoing them 1 year later... Before hiring Shaw for this job, I reached out to several other vendors that provided similar services ranging from waxes to solutions to multi-step processes for headlight restoration, so you could say I had done a fair amount of research. However, there is no secret sauce for getting them vivid clear again: one must take time and care in the initial sanding stages in order to achieve such a perfect finish. And Shaw understands this fundamental difference. He patiently sanded down years of neglect and sun damage until it was perfectly smooth, then brought it back up to the highest grit before applying his clear coat mixture. While other imitators will readily buff or polish your lens, in order to truly get than back to OEM shine is to "remove oxidation by sanding. This process removes the clearcoat that manufacturer applies to protect the lens from UV. Auto detailer have no means to replace this coating so they apply wax.  All you need a simple carwash for the wax to be gone. " Shaw frowns upon this practice, and has created a new and improved solvent that stays on the lens wash after wash (and guarantees it for 5 years!). Best of all, Shaw is an honest and funny guy. Definitely 5 Stars, but I'll start with the negatives, because you need to approach this realistically. First, you probably cannot get your headlight lenses polished for the $110 price. Expect $130, as the lenses are probably worse than you think. And, you probably cannot fix the lenses yourself. You will be happier if you approach this with reasonable expectations. There will probably be more wrong with your headlights than you expect. If your lenses are old, the bulbs may be old. Look at your car and determine whether the lights are dim because the lenses are opaque, or because the lenses are opaque AND the bulbs are dim. And hope that the ballasts are good. I needed new Xenon HID bulbs, as mine had dimmed over time. If your bulbs are easy to replace (and you know how to do it properly), you may want to do that yourself. Mine (2007 Miata GT) are difficult to replace and require removing things in the engine compartment, the left front wheel, and the wheel well liner. Keep in mind that you must not touch the bulbs with your bare skin, and that you may not be able to see where you are reaching with the bulb. Let Shaw do it. The new bulbs were definitely necessary, and although they would have been cheaper purchased directly from Morimoto or a retailer, Shaw's bulbs came with his expertise and were already on his truck. Shaw took care to align the bulbs properly, which is important. The goal is to illuminate the road ahead, not the faces of oncoming drivers. THE POSITIVES: Shaw is reliable. Shaw is knowledgeable. Shaw is well-equipped. He has all the parts and tools needed. Because he knows what he is doing, the project will not take very long, compared to doing it yourself. Also, you will not hurt your knuckles, get dirty, or become frustrated. The headlight lenses came out GREAT. The new Morimoto Xenon HID bulbs make a BIG difference. The front of the car looks new, instead of old. Bottom Line: I ended up with lenses that look like new, and bulbs that perform much better, for about $350. That's much less expensive than buying new lenses and/or taking it to the dealer. Plus, lighting is a safety issue. There's no sense in ignoring a safety issue. read more

I wish I had my before and after photos to show you all - I'm still amazed at the transformation. I meant to write this review a year ago and I'm almost glad I didn't because I surely would have forgotten to update it. It's been an entire year since I had my headlights restored and they're still as beautiful as ever! Normally when you get them restored, they end up turning yellow or foggy again within 3-6 months (or 8-10 if you're lucky). Not the case here!!! I have an older 2001 Infiniti QX4 SUV which had a bad headlight HID ballast causing the drivers side headlight to turn off after about 20 seconds. Shaw recommended I have both ballasts changed to a more current ballast technology rather than replacing them with an older generation previously owned product. He replaced and rewired both ballasts with a new aftermarket product plus brand new bulbs. Headlight bulbs and ballasts are now working great and should be much easier to replace in the future. I had been wanting to have the headlight restoration done on our cars due to oxidation. I made an appointment with Shaw to have him come out to our home, we have (3) cars that have oxidation and other issues. Shaw not only removed the oxidation, repaired some other issues with the headlights and recommended an upgrade on one of my older vehicles. Really impressed with the results I got from Vivid. I park outside and very rarely get much shade; the usual cheap quickie jobs don't hold up well, usually starting to cloud back up in less than a year. Vivid cost more, but I thought I would give him a shot. Over a year later, and my headlight and fog lights look as good as the day he did them. Worth every penny. When the quickie polish job on my significant other's car started to cloud up again, I knew exactly who to call, and the results were once again amazing - I didn't realize how bad they were until he finished up and called me out to see.
