RUN from Vivint as fast as you can. Nothing works, no one is willing to help. They create fake charges to bill you with and no one is able to resolve them. This is a previous employee review. I am not disgruntle I really wanted to work at Vivint. When you get terminated during training (NEVER was disclosed you could be fired during training) it hurts and others should be warn BEFORE they apply to work there. I was work from home, no experience whatsoever, and the training I got from my trainers was not to par at all! There was supposed to be a 3 week training, that was a lie. The First week we played games, and I learned more about everyone else and their personal lives then I did the job. Everyone was subtle complaining how we should be learning instead of playing around. The 2nd week finally learning something but it was stuff we should have learned the 1st week, because the 3rd week we were taking LIVE calls with customers. How in the h.e. double hockey sticks can we help customers not knowing what to do. That was the point of the hands on calls, and was never told we would get fired during training. They had you watch a module that showed you what to do one time and then learn in groups with other people that didn't know what to do. So watching one video and everyone else watch a video you learn one time, I am supposed to do LIVE calls and help customers. NO! I do not and never said I had a brain of a GENUIS to do this job and never did the description said I had to. Training is Horrible, at least from my experience and that is sad. Especially when a company tells you, even if you are hospitalized you will get points that can get you FIRED. Yeah, they said that...You could be on your death bed and you get your 10 points you can get FIRED....A lady in the group asked to get a confirmation and it was confirmed yes, you can get points for being hospitalized. That is ridiculous...then the trainer tells us, if we are nice to our supervisors we could very well get the time off we need like he did. His fiancé's mothers was dying and he needed to pick up his son. If his supervisor was to tell him that he had to stay at work, he would have stayed at work...because Vivint feels they should come before your family and everyone else. That is the commitment they want from you, but none of this was in the job description nor during the first week of training. All these horror stories came during the second week, and learning we can get fired was not until they fired you during training. Think about what I am sharing before you start working there, because it is true their training is horrible. I would have liked to have been given a chance to have another week of training, which they offered me by the way and took it back saying I wasn't progressing and they didn't feel I could do the job. I pleaded for the week they told me I would get to help me, but they said no. I think it was because I rated the trainer low, and he did say if he didn't get a rating of 10 then...I guess that meant we would get fired and at the same time says he is not trying to sway us to make sure he got a good score. Yeah right, that survey could have costed me my job. Think before you apply, can you handle these demands.. Oh and one of the persons in my group had congestive heart failure. So guess what...they may not have their job soon either. read more

In 2014 I signed up with Vivint home security after a smooth talking security sales person gave me the strong impression that the contract was only for two years. I terminated their service after two years but was told I signed a contract for five years! Vivint electronically sent me a copy of the contract but it does not show anywhere that I signed for five years! To date they have not shown me the contract that I supposedly signed. Automatic monthly payments of $53.00 is still being taken out of my account! It stopped working, took almost 3 months for a tech to come out and now they say they can't fix it and won't let me out of my contract so now I'm stuck in a 3 1/2 contract with a company who can't give me what I need. Now I'm gonna have to go through all of the BULLSHIT to get my panel battery fixed. Wish I would have never would have fallen for the sales pitch. The sales guy told us that ADT Was going out of business and we were not going to be covered. Can't wait to get out of this horrible company's contract. AWFUL, I would say go to a company like ADT, or Any other company with reputation. We received a triggered alarm warning on our app at 12:18pM, and I immediately received a call from Vivint, letting me know that they were going to dispatch the police (which I thought was strange, since my experience with alarms has always been, dispatching their own guards) I didn't think anything of it, since were a bit panicked, I received a call about 15-min later letting me know that the police would not go out there, and they needed to send out a 3rd party alarm company "Securitas" to check out the alarm. I never heard back from Vivint. I had to call them and wait on hold, only to discover that all calls are routed to their "customer service" line, and not their monitoring line. I reached a representative and he was no help, I asked him to connect me to the monitoring department and all he did was stutter and stumble with his words and never transferred me. I asked for their direct number and he gave me the wrong number. I did receive a call from the company at this point letting me know that they had dispatched the 3rd party security company but they "couldn't find our suite" -- turns out, they didn't have our suite number on file. ----- at this point, 1-hour after our alarm was triggered, he asked me if I wanted the company to be dispatched out again, I told him know, I was en route to my office and checked the alarm issue myself. There was NO door opened, no broken window. Nothing. I'm assuming just a sensor issue. Needless to say, we will be cancelling on Monday. No need to continue to throw our money away for a fancy panel. read more

I think if you were sincere in your attempt to resolve any issues I may have, you would have checked your records and seen that I have already tried that route. I find your response to my review nothing more than an attempt to try and make me seem unreasonable. I would rather have people know the truth. How if they a contract with you guys, and your equipment fails, you charge them for shipping and parts and labor. Where's the checks and balances? I don't typically leave reviews but I'd just like to say, many people recommended Vivint to us and it all sounded great. However there is a SERIOUS lack of communication in this business. We had 5 separate sales reps contact us. The last guy (supposed manager) sold us on a deal. The deal was to waive the first six months of payments so it would be completely free install and NO payments until that time. The next day they come for the install and the guy asked us for the payment method and had no clue there was a deal made. So WE then had to call around for that manager to get him to explain. He calls us back after a few minutes and says he will come drop off some cash for us to make the initial payment, then in a couple days, he'd drop off a check for us to budget out the payments. We decided to cancel because that wasn't the agreement. We are first time home buyers and we haven't even made the first house payment yet. So we wanted to get settled in and make a few payments to make sure we can even afford all that stuff. The manager sales rep guy, then said "so it's not anything wrong on our part, you just can't control yourself enough to budget out the money?" To which my husband said I guess so and he said he'd put us on the do not contact list. There should probably be more communication between people in the company and also, sales reps should be a bit more clear about what's going on. If I could put ZERO stars I would!! Worse security system ever had! They lie to you!! They tell you it's not a contract. They talk you to it without knowing you're getting into a 60 month contract. I've been having issues with the keypad and they continue to say it's a problem with my door they're assuming this without getting a technician to come check it out. The problem with my door triggers the alarm because it doesn't lock all the way, now I have false alarm charges going into my account because their accounts sucks and I couldn't disarm the alarm through the app. This is really frustrating!! Worst company, they have been a complete night mare to work with. I've been with them for 3 years, to find out they just get you to sign a 5-6 Year contract and then after that they don't want to work with you. Nobody at the company knows what there doing and apparently nobody there has any authority to do anything either. I'm stuck in a contract and with the worst company I have ever seen. I found out that they have 3 packages. 1st package starts at $49.99 2nd package starts at $59.99 and the 3rd package $69.99 which is called their smart complete package, I have been paying $69.99 for 3 years and I have all their old equipment. So for me to upgrade they are charging me $485 to upgrade to their smart complete package that I have been paying since day one. Then they want me to sign another 5 years agreement and pay $485 to upgrade. Since they won't let me out of the contract I finally agreed to pay and set up an appointment for the installation to have the tech come to my house when I had to take the day off and wait all day and he came empty handed. Nothing got done or installed. 2 days later Vivint decides to charge my debit card they had on file for monthly payments only. Vivint took out $485 from my account and when I called them and told them to refund that they can't do that, it's illegal, because I did not authorize it, nor was any service or installation done Vivint still refused to refund me. I was on the phone with them for 2 hours arguing with them to get them to give me my money back. Finally 6 hours later I get a call from a gentleman from Vivint telling me the refund still hasn't been processed and is there something he can do. I said yes refund me my money now, that's illegal!!! The next day they sent me a survey, really!!!! Guess what rate I gave them?!?!lol so 2 days later a girl named MacKenzie called me about the survey so I gave her a mouth full. She apologized repeatedly and wanted to correct the situation, so I gave in, we came to an agreement after she called back a few times. To find out I was lied to because my old equipment not to mention the 2 cameras they had me buy outright because they said I wasn't far enough in my contract to be loyal enough, so I had to purchase $200 each a camera to only find out that the new equipment isn't compatible with the old stuff which is why Vivint is charging me $485 to get the new equipment. We rescheduled again and I took the day off to sit at home again waiting for them to show, when nobody called or showed I called them to find out what was going on and they said they didn't even have me scheduled and that the soonest the can schedule me was a month away. I was again on the phone all day with Vivint and nobody wanted to work with me. I lose over $200 a day that I take off work, apparently they don't care. Whose going to compensate me for my time. Vivint is the worst company I've ever dealt with and I don't recommend them at all. I beg you to stay away from Vivint. They just try to get you in a contract to take your money. It is been a nightmare, horrible company. Stay far away, believe I know and I'm still in and dealing with this night mare. I have had Vivent Home Security for about 5 years, and have had to call about the system not working several times, be careful about that because if they send a service technician, they extend your contract without informing you. Today, I received an email verifying my service appt for an update in March, I did NOT call for an update so I called them, the first two representatives basically called me a liar when I said I did NOT schedule an appt. The 3rd representative was more helpful, and immediately sent this to be investigated. As it turns out, another customer did call for an update, but the representative who helped them entered a wrong number which brought up my account and address. I kept asking how they could let this happen without having the correct verbal passcode, but they refused to answer me, so they scheduled an update at the wrong address without verifying any info. I spent over an hour on the phone trying to get this straightened out, and only the 3rd representative apologized to me, the others treated me like I was the problem. I know their routine well enough to know that if they had shown up at my house on the appt. day, if I refused them, they would just add another charge onto my bill and possibly extend my contract without my consent. With the increase in crime, I had another outside camera installed about 7 months ago, I was quoted $450, but they billed me about $1,250. They have no idea what they are doing, and I can't wait to dump them when my so-called "contract" is up. Not only did they mess up my morning, but that other customer won't be happy when no one shows up on his scheduled date. Vivent is the worst! read more

I'm almost embarrassed that I have been a Vivint customer for over 3 years. We haven't had any major issues until recently. An ADT rep came to the door and promised the world for a great price. I called Vivint and let them know what was discussed. I spoke with Dylan Wilkins. I told Dylan what my wife and I were looking to upgrade and asked him to email a breakdown for me. He did. I emailed him back with a question and he didn't respond. I sent him the email again with no response. Finally I sent him an email asking if he had received my previous emails. He responded that he missed them and apologized. I emailed him again and he responded. I sent him another email and again, got the cold shoulder. This all took place over a couple of weeks. I finally decided to call. I spoke to one person and she was apologetic but she couldn't help me so she transferred me. The next person wasn't apologetic at all and again couldn't help me. The third person didn't care at all about my bad experience but at least he could get me some prices. The only problem was his prices were totally different than Dylan's prices. When I mentioned the price difference, the new guy said he guesses he can honor the other price but didn't seem very happy about it. At this point, I'd rather pay double to another company just so I can be treated like well. I asked when my contract is up and he said I still have 9 months left. If I could have, I would have cancelled. In 9 months, I guarantee we will be switching. I don't care who too as long as we don't have to deal with Vivint any longer. read more

Chris my installer worked clean and did a great job with teaching us how our new home security system works. I have recommended this service to my own family already. I told the rep to give me what's included in package. They double charged me and then charged me and additional $60 for equipment. And he telling me I'm wrong..... When the sales guy came I will admit, he had me at hello. Charming, knew what to say, manipulative enough to make me believe this what was best for my family. The man who installed was rude and didn't clean up. After they left I read over the contract, 4 years you were tied to them! And where responsible for the $4,700 in payments if you didn't cancel within 3 days. The automatic door locks already started malfunctioning. I signed the cancelation contract within the 3 days. They had taken out the installation fee of my account already!!! This was in March. They said "we'll refund you." It's the end of august and still nothing. I've spoken with multiple people who all have different information. This last time they said the check was cashed and need to send in my bank statements to prove I didn't cash it, not releasing any information about where and when this supposed check was cashed. WHY WOULD I CALL AND DEAL WITH ALL THESE PEOPLE IF I RECEIVED THE CHECK. This is theft. They lie and the don't live up to their contracts. I plan on sending in my bank statements and contacting the better business bureau. This is bad business. My dog does a better job of protecting my home and doesn't steal from me. Very terrible alarm company, sometimes you do get what you pay for. I daily have to wait outside my home waiting for alarm to connect with my phone , from just a couple minutes to just under 10 min. I have been informed by a representative that they are aware of problem. I have to upgrade and pay extra for their ( new and improved panel ). Each time I have tried to contact company there is a minimum 30 min to longest has been over an hour wait when I hung up still on hold. Can not wait for contract to be over. read more

This is my favorite home warranty service. They are great to their loyal customers. Service and reliability is amazing.

I had Vivint for about 6 years in my old home. Anytime our alarm went off (usually set off by me on accident) they would call within seconds. They were always pleasant to deal with and I always felt their customer service was on point. When it comes to complaints I only have two. Their five year contract is the definition of Iron Clad. In other words, you're not getting out of it. In addition to the contract, the cancellation process is very difficult and outdated. You must submit the cancellation in writing by either fax or email then hope someone actually cancels your service. In my case, I emailed and faxed cancelation requests then called to see if they received it. When all was said and done my service was finally canceled after 6 emails and 3 faxes in just over 2 months. read more

They are billing me $70 per month and are NOT monitoring my alarm. We had an incident over a month ago, our alarm was activated and we needed assistance and Vivint was no where to be found. I have called them countless times and am left on perpetual hold. Finally I decided to cancel my auto pay and low and behold they called me the next day. I relayed my frustration to the individual and she told me there was nothing she could do, she could only transfer me as their technical team does not have the ability to call out. I explained that my wait times have been over an hour and they would have been longer but I hung up. She gave me an attitude and and rudely reiterated that it was not her department and therefore not her problem. She transferred me, after a 25 minute hold I was able to speak with the technician I advised them that I wanted to cancel my account they told me they would have to transfer me I was transferred to the cancellation department and was greeted with an after hours recording then hung up on. VIVINT IS A SCAM! They take your money and do not provide a service and make it impossible to cancel. Go with a company that will actually monitor your alarm and provide the service you pay for. read more

Well this is a shame of a company in this time to be taken advantage of people. I had a representative come to my house and tell me lies. I was assured that I have three months to see how I liked the services. When I called to cancel they denied saying I only had two months and now they would not let me out of the contract. During this hard times i am stuck with a system that had cameras that are not installed properly, they tech that did the job said he didn't have the equipment to do it right. The cameras can easily be reach just by walking up to them. I asked to be able to see the side of my home and that camera does not pick up clearly the area that is needed. Why I was not explained if there cameras where not able to cover the area I needed! Customer service was a bad experience making excuses but no resolutions. Vivint did a great job coming in and signing me up to a 3 year contract....unfortunately during the install they stole from my house (they removed a yard sign and replaced it with theirs) and did a poor job at installation. For the first 6 months they forgot to bill me dispite having my credit card info and now my system works sporadically and is glitchy. This is my first experience with security. At first I was excited to get Vivint and it worked fine but now after almost a year of having it, I am frustrated with Vivint and would not recommend it. 1. Their application doesn't even have a weekend setting so you better be prepared for Saturday morning alarms when you forget to reset your timers Friday night. 2. I was charged a $55 false alarm fee but the customer service representatives can't provide an invoice from my local police to challenge this fee since they had a person at the house named Maria speak to the police - only one problem - I have never had a person named Maria in my house. They said, "We never keep that kind of information." How do they never keep invoices from police that they quickly turn around and charge me? 3. The garage door opener rarely works from your phone even after they have come out twice to fix it. 4. Being on hold for five to ten minutes is typical when you call customer support. In fact, I was transferred 3x to different people who said they would help but only transferred me to another person. I even asked for a manager and just received another customer service representative. read more

I've been patient but after two years and now an incident I see I cant do anything like share a clear video, save a video or anything longer than 20 seconds separated by one min.. really? If you like generation 1 of digital cameras at today's prices this is the place to go. System is not stable.. they do updates and change tones for different things on a whim. 14 year old coding practical jokes in software that serious to you. They also use older qwickset zwave locks that bind locked. If a fire happens the locks are supposed to unlock to let you out. I was told to change my batteries or pay the service charge and see if the part is covered. If I purchased it I would have returned it. Trusting your life in thier hands is questionable. I've had a vivint system for four years or so. It breaks down all the time. I spend an hour a week on the line with tech support. Hold times are are insanely long and half the time the result is the issue not being fixed. Just today, after an hour on the line with tech support, I had to schedule a tech visit. The wait for a tech is always three days to a week. I've had a tech here every week or two for the last two or three months. I will say that everyone I've ever spoken to on the phone, and all the techs that have come to my place, have been very professional, helpful and patient. But the problem is the product is garbage. It's that simple. The devices are unreliable and don't work. The very competent staff is overworked trying to fix the garbage technology. I very much regret signing up for this. I consider trying to get out of my contract at least once a week. I feel like it couldn't get much worse. My system only works half the time. Stay away. Be smarter than me. I should have done more due diligence. My cousin used to work there and he vouched for it but now I can't trust anything he says anymore. You hear that Vivint? You ruined my cousin. And I liked him too so that's a bummer. My review is one star and five middle fingers. read more

Don't use these people for any reason! I had a brinks alarm system and a salesman from Vivint came by and said he could improve my system give me a doorbell camera at the same price I was paying for brinks. He also said he would buy out the brinks account and I would get a refund check of over $800. Yes I got the refund check from brinks but now that I'm into a monthly payment for more time from Vivint, I find that the brinks equipment that I'm being charged for under the new vivid account is in fact not covered by warranty! All women did was put a new main box in and a doorbell camera. The garage door sensor kept breaking and when the repairman came he let me know and no uncertain terms that only because I'm a veteran he was not going to charge me but in fact all the sensors are not under warranty! I called the main office and they agreed that no warranty is put on the equipment that I thought Vivint bought from brinks under an agreement. Now the doorbell camera is not working as I cannot delete any of the video clips.. I call them to let them know and they tell me they're well aware as other customers have called with the same problem but it is a glitch that they are working on and are well aware of and they will update me if and when they ever get it fixed? Sounds to me like they're not trying to fix it at all! It is simply an IT problem! So when I told the guy in a foreign country, customer service, that I'm not getting what I paid for it's not my problem that the damn thing doesn't work.. he gave me a whole whop and $15 discount off my next bill. Do not sign up with them! they are horrible customer service. Their accounting dept. has no idea what they are doing. Some lady with the same name as me signed up 2-1/2 years AFTER I did and didn't pay her bill... and guess who they sent to collections ME, why because we have the same name! no one bothered to looked up the fact that we live 5 states away from one another, different serv address, different SSN, different account numbers, different contract agreements, different pass codes or the fact that MY account has been in good standing since day 1 and my contract is almost up. But because we have the same name WE MUST be the same person!!! I have made several phone calls and each time have to re-explain the case. and nothing has been done on their end to fix this. my next call is to the BBB to report them and the collection company which both have the contracts and can clearly see it's not me. This is now 30 days of ME trying to get this resolved and is a defamation of my credit. all the while MY account is showing good standing with them. They have no idea how this happened... Its called bad accounting and lazy..... yet with every phone call they seem to only be able to send my complaint to a resolution center!!! and still nothing is being done. It is clear as day it's two separate accounts and this should had been fixed with the first phone call. We recently had an issue where our alarm wouldn't disarm with our code or via the app. Took over an hour on the phone and they couldn't get a tech out till Monday and this happened on a Saturday. We also went out of the country and all our cameras went offline and we couldn't get them back up. They blame it on our WiFi and router. They had us get their router and YET we still have issues. Why would any sane person hire this company when they clearly do not follow Las Vegas rules on no soliciation AND when the homeowners clearly say NOT INTERESTED! Let me tell you our experience with Vivint. We placed a poor review on this website a few weeks ago. Next thing we know, the review is gone. Then two weeks ago we received an email from Vivint requesting our personal email address so they could try and resolve it. We responded yet nothing has happened to date. We went so far as to email them two more times asking when they would be contacting us to resolve our issue. NOTHING. In early October our parents contacted Vivint to cancel their service on their residence in Nevada. They were forced to sell their home and move permanently to Utah due to health issues and the need to be by doctors in that area. Vivint told them they would not be allowed to cancel their contract as a contract is a contract. They would not take into consideration our father's age of 84! All they care about is $$$. The new homeowner that purchased their home refused to pay for the service. So, now he is forced to pay for a service that he does not use. Meanwhile, we called Vivint and several times a supervisor confirmed that the service was cancelled. Then a week later after the new homeowner has taken possession of the home, the alarm starts going off! Police, fire and Vivint local responders are being sent to the home. What! We have NO faith in this company. They have no desire to give the customer good customer service nor follow-up on complaints. One division doesn't know what another division is doing or saying. We get contradictions. The latest was that the company was sending someone in to remove the system, yet, the homeowner confirms it is still in their home. We are beyond frustrated. I was pretty angry with Vivint yesterday when our cameras stopped working and we couldn't get them to answer their phone. We eventually got through, and they were able to reset the system. I'll be back with more information as we have more experience with them. read more
