She became our main server, she was very friendly and sweet. 8:04pm waiting for food. 8:20pm we got salad. 8:23 got appetizer (shrimp lobster toast). A different server named Amelia served us salad. We ordered Old fashion- came smoking-super strong for me, Lemon drop, Ny steak frites, Ribeye, Filet mignon, and Caesar salad with vinegrette. Shrimp lobster toast, white sauce tastes sour, orange sauce tastes smooth mayo and mild not sour, bread is very rich and buttery. Since our food was taking too long, I finally asked when our food would be coming since it's been almost an hr. They said they have a huge party so I guess. To the guy with the curly hair with the bad perm, he was rude, we asked if he can take our pics, he said yeah but walked away. I guess he was busy. What an experience! My friend and I came on a Thursday night, it was not too busy and we did not need a deposit for the reservation. We were initially sat at a two seater table, kind of small so we asked for a booth, and that was thankfully accommodated. I really need to start remembering names because our waiter was amazing and he made sure we were good the entire time. Mind you, we were there for about three hours lol The food was great! We ordered a ribeye and a New York steak, we also tried the caviar. I read some of the lower star reviews and maybe things are different on the weekends, but I had an awesome experience here and my friend and I will definitely make this our new go to! My Mother's Day brunch experience was extremely disappointing. My daughter paid a $75 deposit to reserve our table. I arrived first and was refused seating until my two daughters arrived. If the deposit secured the reservation, there should not have been an issue seating me -- especially since the buffet for my seat was already paid for whether the others arrived or not. I explained to the host that I am currently recovering from knee replacement surgery and needed to sit down. I was eventually offered a chair while waiting. When we were finally seated, the table only accommodated two people even though our reservation was for three. When I pointed this out to the hostess, she responded, "I already have the seating planned out." My response was, "Well, you did not plan well." We were eventually moved to a larger table. The food experience was also disappointing. The bacon was served raw and we had to specifically request that it be cooked well done. The most unacceptable part was that water began leaking from the ceiling directly into my plate. When the owner was informed, he responded by saying it was "clean water coming from the AC." Regardless of the source, water leaking through a ceiling into someone's food is unacceptable. He also stated that shutting off the AC would require canceling the buffet and only offered me a clean plate -- which I had already gotten myself. No apology, discount, or other effort was made to address the situation. Overall, this establishment seems far more focused on ambiance than customer service or guest experience. read more

I highly recommend V's Paradise, especially for brunch thus far!! I had the best birthday brunch there this past weekend and it was a dream! Initially I reserved a table for 14 about a month ahead of time. Be prepared to pay a deposit per person. Mine was $25 per person. This is to ensure you will not cancel day off. It was going to be my first time so I was skeptical but it was all very worth it and I was able to put the deposit towards the tab! V's staff was very helpful everytime I called to ask a question. They made sure if I wanted to have a champagne or carousel ready for the occasion and confirmed I could bring a cake for the table. I arrived and was able to wait for the rest of my party by the bar. Half of your party needs to be there before they can seat you. They were able to get me a water and be super hospitable. Service was amazing the whole way through our time there. The Dubai Chocolate Expresso Martinis were delish and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with shallot jam was so good!! Everyone at my table loved the food. It was the right amount of food portion wise as well. The staff also had a photographer going around taking photos of us and were able to frame the photos for $25 each. We definitely bought a few! That was such a nice touch and they look incredible. Come time for the cutting of the cake and they do charge a serving fee of $3 per person so just be aware. This was such an interesting experience. Let's start with the fact that they call this an elegant dining experience. I would beg to differ. Mo Bamba was literally blasting and one of the servers was spinning a napkin up in the air and dancing like we are at a sporting event. Additionally, they came by and took photos of us, sure that's fine that's cute. But then they come around to sell them in these tacky frames. Has any of this sounded like an elegant dining experience? No. I have had a better experience at Outback Steakhouse. This is not worth your money or your time. Which is really disappointing since the restaurant is in a cool building of Old Sacramento. The food actually wasn't awful but was overshadowed with all of the above. What V's Paradise IS and what it WANTS to be are different. They need to accept that they are a wannabe Vegas experience and not a classy or dignified venue. We came here for my mom's birthday. My brother made the reservation and indicated it for her birthday, and they asked again when we arrived for check-in. To all the people reading this, go anywhere else. I promise you it won't be as bad as an experience as this place. The owner should be ashamed. The valentine day experience was a cash grab. $688 for two people? Considering the experience we (and many other diners had)- this place deserves to be closed. With a 20% mandatory tip?? Now me and my wife eat at fine dining establishments very often so we know what to expect when you're spending that much money. Booked an 8pm dinner reservation for valentine day. They had everyone waiting outside for over 30 mins. We arrived at 7:45 and did not get seated until 8:30. They waited until after 8pm to let everyone inside at the same time. There was literally a mob of people waiting to check in and get seated. No organization, no sense of order. When we got seated, we waited 20 mins for every single item. I kid you not. It took 20 mins for water to come out. It took 20 mins for the appetizers to come out. We waited 30 mins for the main course. The only course we didn't wait for was dessert, which the waiter just dropped at our table and left while we barely began eating our main course. The drink selection was very, very limited. The guy next to me wanted an old fashion and the waiter had to "see if the bartenders could make it". Seriously? $600 dinner and an entire bar but you still have to check for a simple request? The waiters were not trained for this level of experience. They would just drop off the food and leave. At one point, this couple seated next to us asked if we would come back and we said definitely not. She described the whole experience as "it feels like they're treating us like cattle". My wife and I agreed. Our server was especially rude. You could see the resting b* face he had from across the mile away. The place might look nice in photos but the decor is a little cheesy. Which, is not a big deal, to each their own taste. But the music was SO loud. I could not have a proper conversation with my wife without yelling. They had a guy waking around playing the saxophone on full volume. And they had a magician, Scott. Scott was probably the only person on the entire staff who greeted us with a smile. There were people getting served before us while we were just sitting there waiting. When you pay this much for a dinner, you expect to be treated with some class and comfort. This place was exactly the opposite. It felt like a mill and the customers were just waiting for their turn to be processed. I would look around and see many faces with the same look on their faces. Bored, unhappy and waiting to be served. The whole time it felt like this restaurant just finessed us. It didn't feel like a nice valentine day dinner. It felt like we were robbed of a special dinner. ALSO NOTE: They were extremely understaffed. But they paid an entire content creator team to come out and take nice photos. Some people were getting their photo taken and the restaurant provided them with a print. But me and my wife and several other customers were skipped. What's the deal with that? The only thing that was decent about the entire night was the food. The portions were tiny but it tasted okay. I noticed the table next to us kept ordering bread. We decided to order some cause we're starving from all the waiting around and the server told us "I think we ran out". Eventually he brought it when we were eating our main course and guess what, they charged us $8 for it. Ridiculous. Also how are you going to proclaim to be a steakhouse but not serve any steak at all. The owner cheated out. There was no steak. The ingredients used to make all the courses were nothing special. Beet salad, onion soup, chicken and veggies. Every single table was paying $500 in there and that's the best menu they could come up with? Even my wife was upset after she found out how much I paid for this dinner. I could go on and on about all the things that were imperfect or sub par. This place will probably be closed in a couple of years. The only thing keeping this place open is the fact that the owner is robbing his customers of a special fin dining experience and using that money to promote on social media. Stay away from V's paradise. The owner will not only give you a run for your money. He will rob you of a nice, romantic dinner with your loved one(s). read more

Went to brunch on a Sunday around noon and there was no wait. Got seated and the dJ was setting up to start their live set. The employees were welcoming and nice. There was a photographer that made their rounds to take photos of each table. I loved how we didn't feel rushed after finishing our food. We were able to comfortably chat and sit at our table for however long we wanted. Let's get down to the food. I got the crab cake Benedict and it was an 8/10 for me. I wish the egg was more runny. Seasoning wise I wish there was more flavor. The yellow sauce was creamy but had little to no seasoning. The crab cake was moist and soft. Drinks. Espresso martini was 10/10 for me. It was not bitter. It had a good mix of alcohol and espresso. Lemon drop 10/10 could taste the alcohol. Strawberry paradise 3/10 tastes like juice. I didn't get to taste the Dubai espresso martini. Food was mediocre, unfortunately. It does not match the social media. We *wanted* it to be as good as it looks on FB posts. The halibut was a tiny portion, and sat in an oddly super-sweet parsnip purée that was off-putting. The "wagyu" short rib was tender and tasted good, but again, a small portion, even for a "high end" establishment. Mashed/pureed potatoes were okay, but a bit gummy and over-salted. The cocktails and mocktails were almost undrinkable. Apparently an inexperienced bartender. We did get apologies, which is appreciated, but I cannot recommend this place at this time. We happened upon this place after a candlelight concert at the Railroad Museum. They were open at 9pm which was convenient for us. The place is very welcoming from the moment you enter. The bar has some history and it's beautiful! I'm a sucker for a beautiful wood bar with history. I believe the bar is from Europe or somewhere overseas. You should ask about it. The manager is friendly and is a good story teller. The staff is very attentive and efficient. They didn't have any beers on tap which is why I didn't give a full 5 stars. They had some ok beer offerings. I definitely think they should get some local beers on tap and if that's not an option, maybe get some cans from some local breweries. The mixed drink that my partner got was tasty. Prices are reasonable. FOOD: The food looked good and I would like to come back and try a couple of items from the menu. PARKING: Since this place is in Old Sac, all street parking is metered and there are 2 parking garages. If you're not staying long, metered parking is the way to go. read more

I had high expectations due to seeing their social medias. I came here for my birthday for brunch on a Saturday. When we arrived we were sat down. It then took them 22minutes to wait on us and apologized that there was a miscommunication on who was our waiter.. granted there were only 2 other tables who were being waited on within the restaurant. It then took about 15/20minutes for our appetizers to come out, we already placed our entrees when we ordered our appetizers.. Appetizers were okay but not worth the price. We ordered the beef kabobs and chicken wings. They only give you 6 chicken wings for $19 which is crazy.. (menu doesn't specify quantity) Now it took about 20minutes for our entrees to come out from when we had gotten our appetizers. One meal was supposed to have medium rare steak that was added($14 extra to add) to the pesto pasta and it was well done then the pasta was DRY.. the food was sent back and asked if my friend wanted the pasta and steak to be cooked separately.. took about another 15minutes to come out.. the steak was not cut correctly to eat and they forgot to give my friend a steak knife the crispy pork sandwich was just a pork patty fried and not seasoned with a sauce and lettuce? It was also DRY. This came with a salad and it wasn't chopped enough so the pieces were really thick and it was soggy like the dressing had been sitting on it. I ordered the roasted vegetable pesto panini. This was in fact not a panini but it's on ciabatta bread. If I have known it was ciabatta I wouldn't have ordered it. This was also dry, the pesto sauce doesn't look like it was made in house. The menu states fresh mozzarella, basil pesto, caramelized onions. But it had zucchini, bell peppers? And whatever else on it. This came with fries. We also ordered the potatoes and they were nothing more than boiled small yellow potatoes then lightly fried and tossed in some oil with salt and maybe garlic/parsley. Not much flavor. My whole experience here was disappointing and laughable. I'm assuming the owner came over to our table to speak with us and I provided the same information to him, he proceeded to ask what would you like us to do and we will talk to the chef. I didn't ask for anything but provided feedback in hopes that he would find a way to be accommodating.. The amount of time we had to wait was inexcusable as it was basically empty. We had a terrible experience and our food was not up to par, we all did not finish our food, the owner took off the cost of the steak($14). For a restaurant that is marketing itself to be high class and top tier food. It was unfortunate that myself and my friends had to experience this. Do not recommend. We celebrated my husband's birthday at V's Paradise in Old Sacramento and had such a great experience. It's a gorgeous steakhouse with lots of original architecture that gives it a unique, upscale yet welcoming vibe. We ordered the Golden Trio and V's Special, paired with a bottle of Taittinger, and everything--from presentation to flavor--was top-notch. One standout was the lobster mac and cheese that comes with the V's Special--absolutely phenomenal, with huge chunks of lobster and a rich, savory breadcrumb topping that made it impossible to stop eating. Service was on point all evening, and the staff made us feel genuinely taken care of. Yes, it's a splurge--our V's Special alone was $280--but the quality and ambiance made it worth it. That said, the only thing that felt a little off was being charged $2 for a small portion of balsamic dressing to go with the salad that was already part of the dish. After a high-end meal, that kind of nickel-and-diming felt a little unnecessary. Overall though, we loved it and will definitely be back--I'm already eyeing their brunch! This place is a nice edition to Old Sac. The inside is gorgeous. There's also a live saxophone player and it gives off a lively and fun vibe. When you walk in there a decent size bar. I arrived early for our reservation and the hostess was kind enough to walk me to the bar and wait for my friends. The bartender was pleasant and she made me a drink she recommended, which was good. Because of the decor, I was expecting the food to be super fancy but it was simple and delicious food. They have a pretty good drink menu and their cocktail carousel is a novelty for sure! I came here to celebrate my cousins birthday yesterday and I am not disappointed at all! Upon walking in, the aesthetic of the restaurant was very pleasing. They truly turned the place to look very eye catching and elegant. The staff warmly greeted us and sat us down quite quickly so I was very happy about that. I want to say all throughout my dining experience, any questions we had were handled with care and professionalism. Our group ordered the golden trio, tomahawk platter, pacific halibut, and the filet mignon. Golden Trio: I loved the presentation first and foremost and the variety of trying appetizers. The caviar tasted really fresh on top of the layered potato slits. The scallops were a bit on the salty side in my opinion but still very delicious. The Wagyu was insanely superb as it really just melts in your mouth along with the golden flakes. I'd say having this as an appetizer really set the ambiance on how the rest of the night went. Tomahawk Platter: Presentation for this platter was so fancy I loved it. I'm a sucker for a good presentation! We easily adjusted and swapped out a couple items that come with the platter itself due to dairy restrictions and we did not regret that because there are other sides that truly sufficed. The shishito peppers were delicious & quite addicting. As for the tomahawk itself, it was cooked to perfection. The flavors were great. Filet Mignon: There's something that stands out in their Demi glaze that I can't wrap my mind around. It paired incredibly well with the filet and cooked exactly to perfection. Also got a potato puree not pictured on the side. Nonetheless, great entree as well. Pacific Halibut: Presentation wise, it was very appealing. Had a very nice crust and flaky inside. Sauce on top was a little on the sweeter side but I didn't mind it at all. The risotto it sits on top of was also delicious. I'm not quite sure what that green sauce was but I practically smothered my halibut in that in every bite, it was great! My overall experience here was great. I clearly forgot to ask for our waitress name but she was incredibly accommodating to our needs and questions throughout the entire dining experience. Keep it going girl, you're doing great! Would definitely suggest this to friends and family if they are looking for a special occasion dinner. I want to say thank you for having us and being so caring! The entire staff seemed really nice. This venue has been on my bucket list of places to visit. I've reserved this for a girls night out and felt so as though it was such a good decision to enjoy this experience with friends!! I really liked the little food I got, but it was so expensive, and my mother was paying, so I only got an appetizer. I felt so ashamed for picking out this restaurant. I would come back if the had a discount day, or a happy hour. read more
