Ate here tonight with my family the food was alright. I wasn't impressed, a lot of rice and very little meat. They had a Sriracha Sauce mixture and teriyaki sauce for people to use. We also ordered the tofu soup it defiantly was a packaged brand and had no tofu in it that I saw. Also, they don't check their machines and the Sriracha machine had stopped working and when I went to tell the girl behind the counter at first she ignored me then told me that she would take care of it and it took her awhile. The thing that really bothered me was we choose to eat our food there instead of taking it home, it was about 7:55 pm when the one girl decided to start mopping the floor right by us and she was using strong Pine Sol cleaner and boy did it smell. I love Waba Grill but this has got to be the worst location. I went in at noon. There was another customer ahead of me but they weren't busy. I order the salmon and veggie bowl. First off, they are very stingy with the rice and the protein but, that's not the worst of it. My salmon was overcooked and my veggies were raw. The food here is yummy and when you ask for avocado you actually get a whole avocado unlike other restaurant's that only give you a quarter of one. The price is fair you pay more for better quality. What I like most is how you can call ahead with your order and it's ready to be picked up in minutes without having to give a credit card over the phone. I would award five stars for the food but take away three for staff who appear very un-engaged and work extremely slow. No Eye contact, no passion. I have been going into the many new restaurants opening in Upland. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and valued. This place acts like they could care less. Had shrimp and rice. Overall everything was pretty boring tasting. The shrimp tasted very bland and the rice had a weird flavor to it that I just can't put my finger on so I stopped eating after just a couple bites. read more

Clean dinning area. Friendly employees. The Music however is way too loud, I felt like I had to scream across the table at my husband to have a conversation with him. This waba grill location used to be good. I'm not sure what happened. The "steak" was more like the grizzle that I would scrape off my grill. Not exactly something you would pay extra for. The chicken was fine (chicken bowl). One of the tops of the fountain drink (Iced Tea) was off so you could look down into the tank of tea... not exactly sanitary. The service has become pretty shitty, more like the service at Flame Broiler on Mountain in Upland. I assume that Waba Grill is still good at other locations... but I will not go back to this location. Sad, because I used to be a big fan of Waba. If it wasn't chain, this place would go out of business unless they seriously turn things around. read more

As a Flamebroiler loyalist, I have to say, I'm a fan of Waba now. Actually, I think I might like Waba better... First off, the portions are deceivingly big. As someone who always aims to clear his plate/bowl, I wasn't able to finish my chicken bowl (which was just under $6!). Also, instead of having to ask for extra green onions, you could just bag some at the condiment station, which also has: 2 kinds of hot sauce, teriyaki sauce, pickled carrots/jalapenos, and lemons. The food itself was good and fresh. The chicken was meaty and hardly had any fat or gristle. The meat-to-rice ratio was pretty generous as well. Like FB, they also give the option of subbing with brown rice and/or white meat. Consider me a regular from now on. read more

I have been to a few different ones and honestly they all seem very similar...I usually get the chicken and vegetable bowl which is delicious and did this time as well...my hubby got the steak and chicken plate...he wasn't super excited with his..his complaint was the kale salad was dry and the fruit that they gave him was 1 orange...lol..I kept reminding him it's healthy just give it a chance..he won't be going back but I will. ordered a bowl with only veggies on top. the crew put the worst, oldest veggies, old broccoli and carrots at the bottom of the bowl to "substitute" for rice. not saying that all Waba's do this, but this place does.
