Pretty good tasting Japanese fast food is what is on the menu here. Chicken, steak, and salmon are your protein choices, served on a bed of rice. I thought the chicken tasted better than at Yoshinoya. The vegetables here seem a bit fresher and crisper than at Yoshinoya, but they are unsauced and unseasoned. To get vegetables on your bowl, you are paying an additional $1.50, which peeved me a little because you get less meat. Their cost for the bowl is lower, but the mark-up is greater. I really didn't mind paying extra for brown rice; .50 seemed reasonable. There was some congestion at the counter where drinks and condiments are placed. It's a small area to begin with, but to make matters worse, people waiting for their to-go order hang out here. They need to figure things out a little better. read more

Since I've made the account I've been trying to remember to check in at places I'm visiting to but never really remember. Anyway - I've stopped at this location a few times when I'm passing through on business and I usually stick to the same order every time any WaBa Grill I visit. For some reason the white meat chicken at this location is always on the dry side. I've been to the one off crossroads on the 60 and the other one in Corona off the 15 and never have this issue. The cashier also denied me discount when the other day I got one. Watched this place get built from the ground up. Healthy is bringing me back here. No skin on chicken, no oil,no MSG you get the picture. They serve up everything from chicken to salmon with or without the steam veggies and can sub white for brown rice. No grease to contend with just all flavor. No sides like the macaroni from B-Mans, but they do have kimchi available as a condiment. My favorite is a toss up between the chicken and steak both are really good and this is why I just get both with veggies. The salmon is pretty good,but really not enough of a serving to fill you up. I like WaBa Grill. But this location... eh. The service here is pretty lousy. Some cashiers are nice, while others have this "when does my shift end" mentality. I seem to run in to the latter more often. I also feel like the customers aren't the priority here. They have to get one thing done before helping the customer. It kind of sucks, especially when people have lunch breaks and can't afford any wasted time. The location is rather dirty as well. Spilled soda, lids, and condiments EVERYWHERE. Disgusting. However, other than that, I like the food at WaBa Grill. I always get a chicken bowl with white rice. Chicken is cooked and shredded perfectly and the teriyaki isn't overly sweet. I also like how they stress the healthy benefits that come with cooking their food. I mean, I personally don't come here because it's healthy (let's be real). It's kind of expensive here. BUT I really like it because I live far from Teriyaki Bowl now lol and this provides a healthy option for me :) Not much to say, it's like a typical teriyaki joint. Nothing too special, but definitely better than Yoshinoya. I had a half & half bowl of chicken (dark meat) and steak yesterday, and it was very filling. I think I could almost split it into 2 light meals if I really wanted to, which would save me both money and calories! I personally liked the steak better; some pieces of chicken were a little on the dry side. Bowls are about $5-6 so it's a pretty good deal. They claim to not cook in oil and be low in calories, among other healthy things, so you feel a little better about what you're eating. we stopped in around 8pm on a Saturday night. the cashier allowed us to peruse the menu and stated someone would be with us. the girl at the stove came over greeted us and took our order. then the cashier came back to take our cash. why it took two people to take one order is beyond me. i ordered the steak bowl. the meat was dry and the rice was hard and dry. the whole thing had to be drowned in sauce. not my favorite waba grill and probably won't be back. read more

I came Sunday night for lunch & it was such a pleasant experience. I was greeted soon as I walked in by two young lady's smiles and everything. I was helped by Im assuming she's a new cashier can't remember her name but she did an amazing job, repeated my order & there was a slight mistake on my rice, not a big deal. Food was amazing as always. Veggies were well warmed, the chicken was juicy. A+ on your fooD quality!!!!! Although I was disgusted on how rude people can bE when noticing there is new employee's. Eh... Waba is only good in my opinion when they aren't drenching your food in their marinade like crazy & even then, I do not like their hot sauces. Normally I simply ask for no sauce on top & put my own hot sauce on it so it's no big... But that only works when an employee is attentive. When I asked the girl working tonight for no sauce on top she immediately responded "It's already marinated" in an annoyed tone... So I clarified saying "I know that" obviously "I mean no extra sauce on top". Wouldn't have even bothered me all that much had she chosen to put in my order that way, but she clearly did not as my food came out drenched in their magic sauce... I can't stand that Waba attempts to keep this "healthy" image but dumps extra sugary syrup on top of your food as if that's not an issue.... So lame... read more

Love this place! The service is always pretty fast, the staff is always friendly.. even when they tell you that they no longer have sriracha!! That's right.. apparently Waba is no longer carrying sriracha at their locations and instead serving their own version of the garlic rooster sauce.. except their version honestly is not all that great. Sorry Waba, just doesnt cut it. The texture is a bit more watery and you really taste a sweetness. Not sure what it is but.. it's not cute. Luckily I have my lil keychain sriracha bottle (google it), and you guys cook your veggies to almost the tperfect consistency - so I'll be coming back for sure! read more

This was my first time here and I had the steak bowl with brown rice and vegetables. My steak was was burnt and charred. I hated it so much I didn't finish it. The vegetables were overcooked, soft, and mushy. I also ordered miso soup and it tasted so bland. What I disliked the most was the girl working the front was so nice, I wish the food could have matched her excellent customer service. I have reservations about a possible second attempt, but I'm all for second chances. Just don't get the steak bowl, and if you do; ask for "medium rare" maybe then it will be semi-burnt. read more

I've only tried the chicken bowl and I really like it. The regular chicken bowl is about $6, if you want extra chicken it'll be about $8.80. I think it's worth to get the extra meat if you will be having a busy day. I usually get the extra chicken when I know I won't have time to get buy food off campus between classes. The whole bowl keeps me from going hungry throughout the day. It's's plenty of food if you plan on sharing with another person. I'm not a fan of places that charge extra for brown rice so I've never tried it here, I believe they charge $1 extra. I like how you can get as much onions, teriyaki sauce, hot sauce and sesame seeds as you please. The location is always clean, the staff is pleasant and there is plenty of parking. read more

This place was pretty happening on a Friday noon. There was a constant stream of customers coming in but there was never a long wait since food comes out pretty fast. Most were probably workers nearby but I personally think Waba is little pricey for an every day thing, being a chain and all. I got the chicken&steak plate and a drink for around $11. Food was good! I asked them to hold the sauce which was the right thing to do because it was still flavorful without it. They have a condiments area with teriyaki sauce and hot sauce so I got mine on the side. The steak pieces, which were grilled nicely and tender, needed the hot sauce because it was a tad too sweet. The chicken however was seasoned and charred perfectly, it beats out Flame broiler's and Yoshinoya's for sure. I had wanted to get the salmon but my daughter likes her chicken and rice so I had to share that with her. Next time when I'm near a location I will definitely order it since it looks so succulent! read more

WEST COVINA IS COMING UP! finally. there is one of these by frank and sons collectibles and when i tried it, i loved it. i had it when i was hungover and it felt so good to not eat a burrito or hamburger. this place is in west covina right in the eastland center and they are so fast! i went today at like peak lunch time around noon time and my order was ready in 5 minutes. they are so fast. and the food is well prepared as well. you can watch them cook the food right in front of you. the chicken and steak is super delicious with veggies. i reccommend getting extra teriyaki sacuse and their waba hot sauce. it blends really well for a sweet and spicy flavor, especially with their chicken. and the steak is super good too, very tender and cut up small with zero fat. its cheap and the staff is pretty nice. ive been going about once a week since they opened and i dont have any complaints yet. even for new hires they are quick, nice, and responsive to guests needs. i love waba. i feel healthy eating it, even though i smother it in all kinds of sauces and drink it with a soda. OKay, this place is now a staple in my diet. I eat here twice a week on average. It's fast food without the fast food hangover. This place is a good amount of food for the money too. I like to eat healthy to maintain my physique and this place helps to facilitate that goal. The value here is off the charts. The employees are just your typical teenage girls working the front desk but that doesn't really matter too much. They just punch the register buttons and take your money. This WaBa Grill location was easy to find with plenty of parking spots. The staff, total of two employees were working hard. One of them grilling in the back in the front of the hot fire, the other one taking orders, manning the cash register. The service was ok, there was no greeting when I entered the restaurant. No up selling or suggesting the side veggies which is important otherwise it's just blend food, however healthy they say it is. There were debris on the carpet. The paper towel bin in the bathroom was empty. Would I visit again? No. But you should give it a try. Don't just take my word for it. read more

The workers were very discourteous to me on my visit. I made an online order came in on time and they hadn't started it despite it already being paid for and not having other orders at the time. The cashier read my receipt wrong so my order was made incorrectly. I ordered a family special and a single chicken bowl. When the other lady hands my food I check it and let her know it's incorrect. They get upset at me as if it's my fault even though I'm remaining patient? Then they have trouble finding my order and I offer them my receipt and they disregard that and make me wait even longer.
