Good country-style food As often as we come and eat here I'm surprised I had not written a review for Waffle Barn yet. This place gets busy so if you arrive here at peak breakfast times the service gets lousy but I enjoy the food here, Mom loves her omelettes and the girls love their waffles. The food was good, hot and plentiful. This is a basic breakfast place with a country home-style feel. No dinner served. The menu offered a variety of dishes. They have soups and salads, omelets, waffles, sandwiches skillets, and country favorites. I have tried their tender and juicy pork chops with two eggs (my personal favorite) and bacon and eggs, both delicious. The servers are friendly and service is always great but when they are really busy the wait time to ask for little things like extra napkins or silverware or a to go box could be long. The prices are reasonable and affordable. Aside from country style decor (lots of cows and chickens) the restaurant is adorned with Sacramento Kings posters and memorabilia. This place is a hidden gem, I didn't really think anything of it when we decided to eat here but I will definitely be back again. This was one of the best breakfast I've had in a long time definitely beats all the fancy brunch places around and much more affordable. read more

We used to go to this place before the pandemic and we loved it. The servers were nice and they were able to accommodate my daughter's allergy with no problem. Today we went there and left because they couldn't accommodate my daughter's allergy and the servers were not friendly. We will not go back to this place ever again! read more

Come with a big group for breakfast. The place is pretty nice with good amount of tables and seat. The service was also great. I ordered some of sides and a bowl of fruits. Unfortunately the fruits tastes sour and kind of mushy with sour smells. It doesn't look fresh and I do not recommend to order the fruit items. I thought will be freshly prepare but it's not. I let the waiter know and she is pretty nice about it and took it away. I asked if it was fresh fruit and she mentioned it's not prepared in store so I guess it was came in a bag and might have been spoil because taste weird. They should have warn me because I didn't expect the fruit items not fresh. It has grapes, pinnaple cut, cantaloupe slides .the taste is not from pinnaple taste but it just like some sour taste in all of the fruits. While it's not exactly fine dining, I found Waffle Barn to have a fairly decent selection. Omelettes are good, and while the waffles are not the best I've ever had, they're certainly good enough to be the restaurant's namesake. I also found the servers to be fairly responsive despite the high volume of customers. Overall, a solid place to eat if you want something to fill you up on your way to the grocery store. read more

It took over 10 minutes for the server to take my order. I ordered my hash browns to be well done. They were nice and crispy of one side and mushy on the other side. The eggs on my scramble were very soft almost under cooked but not quite. The biscuit and gravy was the only thing good. I will not eat here again for breakfast, I'll try lunch. read more

The food has gone down IMHO. The service and attitude is always great, and as usual you feel right at home. I have been coming here for years, and have had some good breakfast meals. I come here at least once a month, usually Sunday mornings around 7. It's a great place to go for a solid basic breakfast. While it's pretty quiet when I get there, it's bustling when I leave. My group does tend to linger though. The service is always friendly and attentive. I can't recall my coffee ever going empty and I never leave hungry. Maybe that's why I've seen tables of police officers having breakfast there a few times.... I typically just have a scramble or omelette. My favorite is the California omelette, which includes bacon, avocado, and sour cream. I got a chorizo omelette once and was a bit disappointed. There was way too much egg for the amount of chorizo. The omelette comes with either choice of toast or biscuit and gravy and either hash browns or country potatoes. Adding biscuit and gravy to the omelette will definitely provide all the calories you'll need for the rest of the day! It's too much for me so I get an English muffin. The table has those single serving containers of jellies. I alternate between the two types of potatoes. Both are good. Oh and I would be remiss if I didn't mention that they're Giants fans! I have been to this breakfast joint I would say over 10 times and it's still really good. Below you will find my goods and mehs.. Goods: great over all location, lots of parking, great breakfast spot, they do lunch as well, many choices, supports local sports, clean and fast to deliver food to table, cost of food is pretty fair, size of portions is solid, good spot for the family and kids. Meh: lines are way long, can't do reservations, have to pay bill at front of restaurant as waiters don't take it. There's nothing great about Waffle Barn, it's a decently priced breakfast and lunch restaurant, but the food isn't great and the waffles are dry and cake like. I've been here a few times and the first time there was a 30 minute wait, this last Saturday we were seated and served immediately. The server was friendly and prompt and our food was prepared for us within 15 minutes of placing our order. It was a very quick breakfast burrito! We also had a waffle and omelette. The issue I have is the food quality. The breakfast burrito was wet and smothered in cheese and salsa. It wasn't of high quality. I could only eat about half of it. I'm confident that it gave me gastrointestinal pain that night. I had never smelt the disgusting fumes which exited my body before eating this burrito. It was so bad, I apologized to my partner and slept in a separate room. The lingering stench haunted me the next morning until I stumbled into the bathroom where a slow ritualistic exorcism was carried out. The blame for the pain could only be the poor food quality of the Waffle Barn's breakfast burrito.
