Our Mom has never visited a Waffle House, and this past weekend she had her first experience. The entire team welcomed us in which was new for her, not necessarily new for my brother and me. We chose a counter table with an eagle view of all the action. Robyn? was taking care of us on this day, and she, in true Waffle House fashion, took our order and stood in line to give our order to the kitchen staff. While we didn't order anything too special or fancy, listening to Robyn shout out our order to the kitchen staff invoked a chuckle in me as I remembered the scene from the Disney animated movie, 'Emperor's New Groove' when Kronk decided to help out in the kitchen. The dialogue went like this. "Three oinkers wearing pants, plate of hot air, basket of grandmas' breakfast, and change the bull to a gill; GOT IT!" One of the cooks wanted to hear some music, so one of the servers got the music and put on 'Waterfalls' by TLC. If you haven't been to Waffle House, like our Mom, it's an experience. The orders are made fast and furious. And if you like waffles, you're in for a treat. If you're all about the hash, they have that too. I ordered dry wheat toast and a side of tomatoes, which was one fat tomato, and it was very juicy. My brother mopped up his plate of hash and left no evidence behind. My Mom ate her waffle, her two eggs any style, and her crispy hash browns. Kudos to Robyn for handling a grumpy regular customer who was less than satisfied with his last visit. Couldn't sleep decided it see if there as a WH near and a mile up the road was the yellow beacon. Greeted by cooks and waitress. Very friendly and prompt service. The coffee was great, the food was good (a bit to salty) The price was good.

We decided to stop for some breakfast on the way to the great smoky mountains, so we stopped here. They didn't seem busy from the outside but once we walked in they definitely seemed to have their hands full. When we sat down and got ready to order we figured we'd have a long wait BUT that was not the case at all. This Waffle House is on their Triple A × 5000 game because despite being incredibly busy they were pumping good food and great service left and right. Our waitress seemed like she went to Harvard School for Multitasking because she was also on her A game and really took care of us. The food was above average for a Waffle House, they kept us hydrated and kept me caffienated. Definitely an above average experience for a Waffle House and we are already excited to return. Walked in, got a menu pretty much immediately. Informed Crystal, the "waitress" I wouldn't need silver as my order was Togo. Well about 10 minutes later she asked if my order has been taken. No, I tell her. It has not. I told her I wanted 2 sandwich ONLY items. A Texas cheese steak melt and a chicken sandwich. To which she replies "bacon?". "Sure" I say. Sherry was absolutely terrific in taking care of me this morning, and the breakfast came out perfect. Many places will forget to add the gravy to my hash browns and have to bring it in a bowl or leave some requested ingredient out of my hash browns. My order this morning was correct and tasty. Not the best. Came in and was greeted and told to sit anywhere we would like. Ok. Where? Dirty tables everywhere. We had to wait until they cleaned a table off first. Ordered the all-star with eggs over medium scattered, smothered and covered hash browns cinnamon toast and a waffle. Eggs were over easy. They store was clean, they were very quick to get the tables cleared and cleaned so noone had to wait. My server Sharde was great and made sure that my coffee cup never went empty. I'm so furious. There was a wreck on Alcoa so it took my fiancé a long time to get over there to get the food I'd placed a pick up order for. He got pulled over on the way because there was no clear way to get into the location, and he got a ticket! Then after ALL THAT, they would not give him the food because their internet was down and he didn't have cash! How is that our fault?! The food is going to be wasted, right? You can serve our food that's been sitting there awhile to someone else! And now I can't even get anyone there on the phone. Pathetic, terrible service. I am the only non-country person eating when I go and my meal is always rushed by the staff. The younger staff talks to me when I go and they are very nice but I seem to never get them as my server. The older ladies are civil and get me what I need but they also rush me out. It is a diner, I'm supposed to be able to relax and enjoy myself. When we told one of the servers that we didn't get our waffles, she stopped wiping the tables and began to make the waffles herself, without washing her hands. After that, ALL employees but ours left through the side door. She looked at us and said she'd get our ticket....I told her we STILL hadn't gotten our waffles. As Waffle houses go this place is about average, the customer service is always good, which is to be expected. The food on the other hand is above average here and that couple with the low prices will make you want to give this place multiple visits. The covered and smothered hash browns are the star here along with some piping hot coffee to top it all off. The past several times we've had to travel back to the restaurant because they've either gotten our order wrong or they have left something out. Waitresses were too busy catering to their drunk 20 something friends to worry about us or what we ordered. The absolute smallest portion of hashbrowns ever. When I mentioned that my hash browns were not correct and the portion was BABY sized.....the waitress showed me a photo of the menu saying"see they are that size" Any time Ive ever gone to a waffle house the hash browns came out on their own plate because the portion was what it should be. Gave it one more chance after that last time when my 3 year old asked me to "take him to the potty" So I did. when I came out the stupid waitresses thought I left without paying. We visit this location on occasion for a quick breakfast. We have discovered that it depends on the server, and who happens to be the fry cook on the particular day you're there !! There is an overweight lady who is the BEST waitress and try to get her if you can [note, if I knew her name, I would not refer to her size....] She will make sure you have fresh coffee and that your order is done right. On our last visit, we had another server, and she was terrible, actually mixed lemonade into my orange juice, realized her mistake....then filled the glass with OJ, not even dumping out the lemonade....and it was yuck !! The coffee was burned.....and we asked for fresh, She proceeded to argue with us over the freshness of the coffee.....in a few minutes, the aforementioned large lady came over to pour us some fresh. My husband ordered eggs over medium and they were running all over the plate, the manager came over, asked if everything was okay, we explained the situation.....he said okay and walked away.... I ate at this Waffle House this morning, and the food quality was typical of other Waffle House's, however, the service was not. My server, Bonnie, brought my a sweet tea without a straw. I saw her standing by the grill later, she made eye contact with me, and right as I was about to ask her for a straw, she turns her head and starts talking to another employee. I had to ask another waitress for a straw. I watched another waitress give a guy a drink without a straw, too. Do they not believe in giving straws in this place? Bonnie brought me my food and checked on me like three times while I was eating. Where the hell was she before?? Then I had some waitress stare at me and then laugh cuz of my reaction. This is a screwed up place with lack of leadership. I was sitting at the bar right over the sink! I did not know that the seat I chose at the bar was directly over the sink that the employees wash dishes in! WOW! If you want low grade servers to serve you, then this is the place for you.
