We've been here a few times and I can't say enough about the service! We've been there on busy mornings and we've been there during empty afternoons, and the service has been remarkable! The food is what you can expect from a "diner" type of restaurant. But nothing we've ever received has been burnt or undercooked. This has to be the cleanest and well kept Waffle House we've visited. $2 in the jukebox will take care of the music while you dine. But honestly, what makes all the difference is the service. All of the employees are wonderful. You make us want to come back every time, even with our "old lady diets" in place. Shout out to "Da Baby" and Donald as our servers. The waitress and staff didn't seem concerned about patrons. She asked what we wanted but never gave us a menu. The had to ask for them. The waffles were too dark and the bread on the patty melt was burned. The staff wanted to gather on the stock room and have conversations among themselves. read more

I love Waffle House! Where I live the closest one is hundreds of miles away. While driving through Baton Rouge Louisiana on my way to Mandeville to visit my niece I had the pleasure to come to this Waffle House. What a great experience, the restaurant was clean, the staff was welcoming, shout out to Miss Linda, and the food was great! Love the pecan waffles!! So this incident happened about two weeks ago and I've tried to let it go but I can't. I have never experienced this type of hostility from anyone before. Our night started off at the emergency room in the hospital. when we discharged from the hospital we were hungry and with nothing else being open we decided to take advantage of the situation and get one of our favorites Waffle House. Upon arriving I stayed in the car as I was tired from just having spent time in the ER getting checked out, my fiancé went in to place our order. There was only one other customer in the restaurant and two waitresses and one guy on the grill. The one waitress started taking my fiancés order and asked him what i wanted on my hashbrowns he asked her if it was okay for him to run outside and ask me again what I wanted because he had forgotten(again we had been in the ER all night and we're exhausted) and it's not like anyone else was waiting to get their order taken. The only other customer in the restaurant was waiting for his food to be made. Upon walking back into the restaurant after coming to clarify my order the waitress who had been taking the order was now sitting down at one of the tables(it took him less than 30 seconds to run outside to the car and back inside). He walked up to the counter waiting for her to come back and finish getting our order, she looked him in the eyes and kept sitting at the table. So he waited at the counter for about 5 minutes before the other waitress walks up and asks if she can help him with anything. At this point the original waitress gets up and rushes over and tells the other waitress very aggressively "no, i got him" so the other waitress hesitates and then backs up. My fiancé then apologizes for having forgotten the order and having ti run back outside to clarify what i had wanted. This seems to anger the waitress even more as she tells him he was being rude by having to run outside. He continues to apologize to her three more times just trying to diffuse the situation as she mumbles rude comments about him under her breathe. He came back outside to the car with our order clearly upset and told me what had happened. He couldn't understand why she had treated him like this. The entire time he was waiting for our order he said she was making rude comments about him to the other workers inside the restaurant who just kept looking over at him shaking their heads and shrugging as if they didn't know why she was treating him like that either. Upon seeing his distress and hearing how badly he was treated I walked into the restaurant to see if i could find out what happened. As soon as I walked in the other waitress happily greets me and asks me if she can help me with anything. I started to explain to her what I had been told and as I got to telling her how upset he was because he didn't understand the other waitress who was back sitting at one of the tables rudely shouts across the restaurant "he yelled at me". Now my fiancé does not ever raise his voice, and if he had been rude to her why wouldn't she have let the other lady finish taking his order when he returned from asking me what i wanted on my hashbrowns? I tried explaining to her that even if he did yell(which i know he hadn't) why did she continue to be rude to him even after he tried apologizing three times. She wouldn't answer that and just kept repeating "he yelled at me, he's rude" everytime I tried to speak to her she'd cut me off and repeat that over and over again. Didn't even want to try to talk or reason with me and only wanted to continue being extremely hostile. I looked over at the other waitress because I couldn't believe how rude this lady was being and she gave me a small smile as if she felt bad for me. I asked the rude waitress what her name was and she refused to give it to me. This whole situation was insane, neither me nor my fiancé were rude and we just wanted to know what we had done to be treated so horribly. I love going to this waffle house because i adore Ms. Linda and we usually go at least once or twice a week but we haven't been back since. Nobody deserves to be treated like that. read more

Love the energy and work environment here !!! We ordered 3 all star, with toast, eggs, bacon, ham , EXTRA waffle (only add 1$) extra grits !! It was so delicious My favorite was the waffle wit the Waffle House cream spread that was SO BOMB!! Each all star was only 7.70$ about. Delicious and the workers had a lot of humor! We got to sit close to the workers and we got our food in like 5 minute!! The waffle was so tasty and def one of the best I ever had and it's so affordable ! Would come back ! I don't care what anyone says - I love Waffle House and I've never had a bad meal there. The grilled chicken sandwich is surprisingly awesome, as is the chili, but my regular order is the steak n' eggs with double hash browns and a pecan-pb waffle. Came in on Saturday morning and it was busy. Was seated quickly as there was a wait. If you come to Waffle House for a fancy and quiet dinner you need not come. The cooks were having fun and getting orders out quick. The only complaint was that refills took a little while to get but in all food was good. This isn't my regular WaHo but have hit it a few times with my niece on early Sunday mornings after she's closed down the bar she manages in Ascension Parish (if I'm in on a Saturday night I'll usually stick around to make sure she gets to her car safe). We settle on this one cause it's a good halfway point between where she lives and where I live. Every time I've been in this place is somewhat packed to packed post 2 AM...However the wait has never been long and the service has always been efficient if maybe not quick, but hey it's 2 AM...and sometimes you walk in and think "Whoa this is gonna be too long of a wait!" but when you see that it's typically a hella lot of folks simply waiting for their take out orders and makes me think "Hell you're here why not simply sit down and eat here" but then I immediately think "Thank God cause I ain't gonna have to wait long to fall on some of them tasty hashbrowns and eggs!" Food has always been cooked correct and brought to the table hot and the coffee is always fresh and steaming... Like just about every WaHo I've graced with my presence the food has been what I needed/wanted, the staff has been friendly and efficient and knowing my love of WaHo I'll never have an issue making a stop in here. read more

This is the first time I went to a Waffle House and I have to admit that it doesn't stand by its name. It doesn't serve me good waffles. * Fundamentally I do not like American waffles but the Belgian counterpart. American waffle is not as crispier. Or atleast this America waffle was not. * plus the waffle had a weird oil taste - I thought it was supposed to be butter. But this oil taste turned me off. * plus I expected a choco chip waffle to be inside and not sprinkled outside. * we also had the butter pecan. Butter pecan waffle was better than the choco chip. * I also had the hashbrowns which were epitome of horrible intake. They had oil and something which cannot go wrong often was also made worse by these guys. * ambience - I like the fact that there were these guys all hanging out on a Friday with friends. The waitress was nice too. She fed us water like 5 times in the entire eat out and was very patient. The employees are welcoming, friendly and prompt. We have our waitress, Keesha, a 45% tip. We always like coming to #1370 on Highland road. In fact there is a waffle house closer, but we prefer this one. However, I would say all Waffle House s could be kept cleaner and the tables cleaned faster. read more

It was a late nite drive back from The Saenger Theater in New Orleans and I was very hungry. It was about half passed midnight and Coast to Coast AM was on the radio. Just up the road was my exit, Highland Road and I knew there was a Waffle House at the exit. It was cold and rainy on that early Sunday morning (12:30 am) when I entered the eatery. Fortunately there weren't many patrons inside so I took a seat at the serving bar. Right away an employee was taking my order. First thing on my list was a cup of hot coffee. In no time there it was right in front of me. I prepped it with sweetner and creamers, stirred it and my first sip was so warm and delicious. In the next few minutes my food order arrived just as I requested. Two eggs, fried like I requested , with grits, butter and toast and crispy fried bacon. I was so anxious to get started. I had not eaten since noon on Saturday. And oh yes, my breakfast was great. Hot and fresh and delicious. Waffle House, always open and food always served hot. read more

Ok, I've been in a LOT of Waffle Houses in my 46 years on this planet. Way too many, in fact. I like the food. It's good, if not particularly good FOR you, and it's consistent (generally). And yes, I know you don't get 5-star, or even 2.5-star, service at a Waffle House. I totally get that. But dude, at least give me one star. Heck, give me HALF a star worth of service. This particular Waffle House location has by FAR the worst service I've ever had, and it's ALWAYS bad. Every. Single. Time. Yeah, I can hear you asking "Then why keep going back?". Well, it's near my house, it's reasonably priced, and sometimes you just crave some Waffle House food, even when you're sober. Like I said, I don't expect stellar, or even average, service at a Waffle House. That's not what they do, and that's fine. But some "not terrible" service would be a nice change of pace. I am very displeased with the customer service of this waffle house. We arrive around 10:30 and are not greeted at all. After waiting around 20 minutes, we are clearly getting frustrated. There are several dirty tables that need to be cleared off and the workers continue to look at us and continue laughing/joking around in the kitchen instead of clearing a table. When we were finally addressed it was in a very rude tone of voice. In total we waited around 30-40 minutes. Disappointed. Food is always good tho. read more

I have to admit that I am a sucker for Waffle House hashbrowns...I seriously could eat them every single day. Most days at this location are fairly tame and sometimes seriously busy. The staff is very nice and the food is served quickly with good consistency. A few friends and I were lucky enough to be entertained by a huge fight about a month ago....between the staff!! While it made our hangover Sunday super fun, I don't think everyone enjoyed it as much as we did. I equate it to seeing a unicorn, which can be scary for some people (hello, sharp head horn), but was something truly special and something I'll always treasure. read more

Called 8 times and let it ring 12 times before answering only to say it'll be a 20 minute wait bc their grill is down. Why didn't they say that the first time we called? Service was very quick and employees were friendly. However I pointed out a potential cross contamination by allergenic material issue to an employee and she discussed it with the applicable employee. It fell on deaf ears though. I observed nothing changed before I left the restaurant. The problem was...a wood handled, metal pointed tool was being used to remove waffles from the waffle maker. When not in use this tool was being stored inside a container of unshelled pecans (tree nuts). This is a major allergen concern for anyone allergic to those nuts ordering plain or any other waffles not containing nuts. I explained this issue fully to the employee as to what could happen if someone had an allergic reaction because of their utensil storage practices but apparently it wasn't worth my voice. Therefore, if you have a tree nut allergen BEWARE of ordering waffles @ this Waffle House. read more

It's a Waffle House, so you know what the foods like. It's pretty clean for a Waffle House and the service is pretty good too. One problem I have with this location though, is that it seems like their card reader is out a lot and they wont tell you till the end of the meal that they are currently only taking cash. They do have an ATM in the place so at least you wont have to far to get your cash. read more

They don't deserve any stars. Tried to take my kids twice in the past few weeks for breakfast. The first time our waitress was obviously on drugs and kept bringing us the wrong drinks repeatedly while burning the waffles six times in a row before we gave up and left. We went back a few weeks later and never even got drinks or food. The people that came in after us were done eating and we still hadn't seen our waitress since we ordered. Once we saw she didn't care to help we got up and walked out after 25 min of no service. The management doesn't care and they clearly don't want to be there. read more

This is the first Waffle House I have experienced. Our server, Saige, was amazing -- cute, friendly and anticipated our every need. She was very professional and represented the company well.
