I only come on Sundays and contend with the church crowd. However, despite how busy it can be at peak times, this crew gets it done! We are always seated quickly with friendly and attentive service. Some of my favorite "hacks" to the Waffle House menu are ordering my hash browns well done and my waffle extra crispy. It just adds that perfect crunch to my already indulgent breakfast. My family and I came to try Waffle House for the first time ever, quickest "never mind" we've ever had. I understand they (Waffle House) have a reputation and knew we weren't stepping into a 5 star restaurant but the literal words that came out the workers mouth were "oh sh*t" as well as a bunch of annoyed looks from the other workers. If it were only that we'd still stay but it wasn't until they all left to the back and hid for 10+ minutes and did not come out until we were out the door, we knew these workers did not want to work. Literally all the workers left, one grabbed a pack of cigarettes before heading out. This review is slightly overdue. I visited the Waffle House in Brentwood, Tennessee on Saturday, 4/13/24, in the late evening. I decided to place a takeout order for my family members and me. We got a variety of breakfast items including omelets, toast, eggs, pecan waffles, bacon, and pork chops with grilled onions. My family and I enjoyed everything. All of the food was decently good. What stood out in my visit was the lovely service from Melody (server). She was absolutely pleasant and ensured that my order was right. The other associates, Bobby and David, were wonderful. Bobby (server) was kind and David (cook) prepared the food deliciously. Overall, this Waffle House location is wonderful. The staff members are super friendly. The food is great. This was my first time at a Waffle House, so my expectations were pretty low. Having said that, though, this experience completely blew me away. Everything about the experience was actually great. The service was excellent, quick, and polite. The waitress was gracious enough to give us individual checks per person even though we were a large group. The food was so good, hot, fresh, and came out quickly. I got the grilled chicken sandwich which was juicy and flavorful. I also tried the blueberry nougat waffle which was awesome. The hashbrowns were not my favorite, though. The only other drawback was that the condiments could have been a bit more clean (they were sticky, probably from the syrup). But things like this are to be expected at a place like the Waffle House. Finally, the prices can't be beat! my husband and I visited today and as 'Brits abroad' weren't sure what to expect, but all I can say is that if all waffle houses are like this one, they put the service we have received since we arrived in America 3 weeks ago to shame. This was my first time visiting a Waffle House. Our friend picked us up from the airport and since I had never been to Tennessee or Waffle House, we stopped at this one which was near our hotel. It looks a little dingy and dirty from the outside. Sitting down it was definitely a bit sticky, but what classic breakfast restaraunt isn't? It appeared as if we had arrived just after a small rush. This is a 24 hour spot and we went between midnight and 1am. Our waitress, Chelsey, was incredibly kind and hospitable. I told her it was my first time there and she was in disbelief! She brought me a waffle house hat and explained some favorites. I ordered the all star with biscuits and gravy since I hadn't eaten much after flying all day. My boyfriend also got food. Our experience was To Go, but she made sure we had a wonderful experience here while we waited. She is awesome!!!!! After a long, disappointing travel day it was just the perfect service experience. We took our food back to the hotel and I seriously devoured it. I've never been to a chain breakfast spot that tasted so delicious. My waffle was sweet and perfectly cooked. The eggs were standard. The hashbrowns (i got with mushroom topping) were perfect. Biscuits and gravy were good. Even the wheat toast with jam was fantastic!!!!! A wise hungry person once said, "the trashier the Waffle House the better the food". Listen, that's the most true thing you'll ever hear, ever. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk. On the couple of occasions I ate here the staff was friendly and attentive even when they were busy. They scored a 99 for their health score so that is great and everything seemed clean even though they are packed at the moment. This place was filthy! Roaches in the bathroom, no one in there and just totally nasty floors, i mean! Wow thumbs down!!!

So me and my (black) roommate went to this location for a quick bite. The waitress was very kind, and there was a cook, and a man and a black button down which I assumed to be the manager. Let me start this off by saying our waitress was kind, and her attitude couldn't have been better. We were eating our meal and we thought we heard the manager say the n word(with a hard R) so we both stopped eating, we didn't hear anything else so we kept eating then the man said it probably 5 times in a row before the cook said "stop saying that" then he stopped. Me and my roommate were absolutely shocked. So we kept eating and our waitress came to check on us, we asked for the managers name and that we heard the manager say what he said. She explained that her and the manager were talking about a deal between the two of them, and she didn't want him to "re nig" on their deal. And apparently what he was saying was that "he wasn't "a re-nword" If that is the case, that's fine, but the man said it so many times to the point where someone else, his employee, had to stop him from continuing to say that. He knew what he was saying. On top of that, this waitress was running between me and the two other tables in the restaurant doing absolutely everything, and he was leaning up against the counter talking to the cook the entire time, both being very condescending and rude to the waitress. This will be my last visit to that location. His language and behavior was absolutely unacceptable. read more

Man, I do love a Waffle House, and this experience was typical of my visits. I live in Kansas, and while we do have a couple of Waffle Houses scattered (but not smothered or covered) around, we don't have one in my town. If we did, I my annual numbers of pecan-waffle-eating would go through the roof. Service here was greatm, and typical for Waffle House. Mrs. R and I sat in a booth, ordered a big breakfast, had coffee, and devoured the spread. Waffle House is not fancy, but it is the archtypical American diner. I'm rating this for what it is - Waffle House. So, this is not relative to 5 star dining establishments. I had not eaten at a Waffle House since my childhood, and even then it was probably only a few times. I have wanted to try this one, because I love breakfast just as much as the next guy, BUT, I am not someone who eats in the morning. I don't do brunch either. I fix great breakfasts for hubby and kids, but don't eat it. unfortunately, this means they don't ever want breakfast for dinner. *sigh* So, I finally got the opportunity recently and it was so good! We all ordered breakfast food. I pigged out, and was full before I ate the hashbrowns so I can't comment on them. My son had a double order of hashbrowns though and are it all. The staff was very attentive, the order taken quickly, and food brought out quick, hot and exactly as ordered. Can't ask for much more than that. I drive away from one Waffle House and past another to come to the Brentwood Waffle House. While there is the occasional misstep, by and large they get it right. Old fashioned omelets, scrambled w cheese eggs, crisp hash browns with cheese and tomatoes and sometimes grilled onions... Mmmmmm-MM!!! Red Tail should be summarily overlooked as a reviewer.
