Im a long time customer today I am very dissapointed. The place was dirty. I had to have them wipe the table down twice food was still behind the condiments and underneath as well as sugar stuck on the table. The rag she used was always used on other tables as well. I wasnt offered not even a cup of water or more coffee. My waitress was nice but the hostess was having a bad morning which is odd because she is always cheerful. I would have given it 5 stars but the cleanliness and customer service only a 2. I am very dissapounted. I sat there with a heavy stomach trying to finish my meal and it just didnt feel right being there with so much negativity in the air. Leave the problems at home. Okay, let me explain the 5 star review. This is not because it is a big fancy restaurant with gormet food, quite the opposite. This is a good old fashioned diner that does what it does very well and consistently. The whole staff is great and I love watching the 'Show' in the kitchen area. This is one of the less messy locations (#1157), still filthy, no masks on staff. however, I was brought dirty dishes with food all around the rim of glass three times. Until I just said please can I have water in a paper cup. Waitress was polite but start displaying negative responses. This waffle house also stated that they do give military discounts then this gentleman comes up and says that they don't give military discount! He is supposed to be the general manager. Mmm..waffles!! Though it may not look like much from the outside, this place serves some amazing waffles at a great price! It's your typical diner setting and my friend and I sat at the counter. We both had the simple waffle and hash browns. When I first looked at the waffle, I thought it was small, but it does fill you up! The hash browns were delicious, but I would've liked it more crispy. The waffle, hash browns and a cup of coffee was only $6.80! Not too shabby. They have other items on the menu as well like pancakes but it's waffle house - I suggest getting a waffle. The absolute worst service ever! Never have we ever dealt with complete and total disrespect and rudeness. As of recently the people that work here are the most miserable human beings. came in to eat and was yelled at for asking for a spoon and cream for my coffee, when the cream was brought over it was thrown so hard on the table that one of the creamers bounced to the floor. Server rolled her eyes at every order she took at the table, food was served cold and waffle was burned hard to the point that it looked like coal on one side. When we kindly asked if we could have the cheese we wanted on the Hashbrowns that we originally ordered they aggressively took the plate, slapped the cheese on there and didn't even attempt to melt it. We were experiencing a power outage today, so we tried Waffle House for the first time. The place looks shabby and not really clean from the outside. When I walked in, the intent was to place an order to-go during this Covid-19 situation. The female employee was friendly and called me up to place my order. I ordered and paid $35 for 3 breakfasts. The male employee (I think he was a manager) was rude and very ignorant. He shouted at me for sitting down in a seat in the front waiting area. Two other waiting customers looked at me sadly and shook their heads. One walked out and said something as he walked by. I waited about 20 minutes for my order. The male employee continued to fuss and make comments as customers came in. He appeared to be quite grouchy and disgruntled like he didn't want to be there. We ate the food at home and it was almost entirely of frozen food. Only fresh item was the eggs. The food was bland and not good tasting. I could have eaten garbage from McDonald's or jack in the box which would have been frozen also, but tasted better and cost less. As far as the interior decor, it is very outdated and just doesn't look clean. I should have requested a refund and cancelled my order. The place just didn't like fresh. If you want fresh food, then go elsewhere. The toast was soggy, they used American cheese on the eggs rather than cheddar. Crazy!?! read more

Omelets (two eggs) at this Waffle House tend to be the best in Charlotte (depending on the cook). Server should be able to spot a not so perfect omelet and send it back to the cook for a remake. Cost of a meal (with tip) is on the high side for breakfast. Coffee is OK. You have to ask for cream and Splenda if that is what you use. Bacon can be really ugly if the grill hasn't been cleaned in a while. This has happened maybe once or twice. Normally bacon is good. Toast is normally half toasted (warmed bread is more like it). If you like it that way, go for it. I like bread toasted where it is crunchy. Eggs are usually done the way you ask. Cheesy eggs are very good (scrambled with american cheese). Staff? This place is disgusting!!! There a huge pile of egg shells sitting next to the grits. It almost fell into the grits. Instead of the cook throwing it away she just pushed it back. The food counter is full of garage (plates,half eaten food and a bunch of used stuff) a charcoaled waffle sitting in the waffle iron and two separate cat fights going on between employees. I literally watched a girl with a long ponytail "bump" into another staff member half her body weight to start a fight, she rolled her eyes and smirked when she went pass. The 4 stars are based on my other Waffle House experiences. This is a 4-Star Waffle House. There is an old lady that walks around and massages all of the customers. Stay away if you dislike people touching you, because she will. The service is pretty good, but it is sometimes hard to find someone if you need something. The food is always good, but it seems our order often comes out in shifts and isn't always correct when it first comes to the table....but it is what it is. I've been to many a Waffle House in my life. This is one of the best I've been to. Extremely friendly staff, the greeter Martha gave us all hugs- I mean come on what could be better. I mean, it's Waffle House, so you know not to expect a stellar experience going into it. Food-wise, it is one of the better locations I've been to. I've even been to this one sober! However, I have a HUGE problem with their "hostess." I'm sure she means well (she's an older lady), but it is NEVER okay to touch the customers, give them unexpected massages, and initiate awkward, personal conversations. I have cringed watching her make families uncomfortable and have experienced it first-hand while there with my boyfriend and his family.
