This use to be a great place to eat, but since they tore it down and rebuilt it, it's not the same and the prices are absolutely ridiculous!!! We ordered two omelets with a side of bacon and one side of chili a coffee and a soda...$32!!! The waitress brought out each item separately, on separate plates, at different times as if we were eating some kind of redneck tapas. Even if the waitress was new, she had to know that wasn't the way to serve the food and she had to know that was entirely too much to charge for what we ordered. Then again, we never saw her after bringing our check as soon as she gave us our meal. By all means, skip this Awful House!!! read more

Cleanest nicest Waffle House we've ever been to!! The place was busy and only 2 staff members on duty - Melanie & Taylor - as the cook called off. Melanie who I'm guessing is the manager was not only on the grill but taking orders as well. The food was perfectly cooked and served with a smile. I was so excited when I heard that they were opening a new Waffle House this close to my house! I'm not sure if it is due to them being super new, but the place was very clean. Definitely the cleanest Waffle House that I've ever been to! The staff were very fun and it gave me more diner vibes as I was singing along to the music with the staff. The food came out really fast, as diner food should, and it wasn't too greasy. I ordered the 2 egg breakfast with sausage Pattie's, hash browns, and Texas toast. Everything was cooked to my preferences and my server kept checking in and having conversations with us! Definitely happy to have this location so close to me and I will be back soon! My family and I just left this waffle house and I must say it's not just the best one in Knox, but the best one we've ever been to. I think our waitress was named Tracey, and she was so sweet. My youngest boy brought his new waffle blanket as he absolutely loves waffles, and she had fun with him over it, and made his day. We are from out of state, and are visiting family. I've been to this location before, and was less than impressed. However, after coming back tonight, this is my favorite Waffle House. JT and Jamie were absolutely amazing and so much fun to hang out with! They are definitely doing Waffle House a favor by being there and loving what they do. I've been to a lot of Waffle Houses in Knoxville and I've got to say this is the best one in town. Their staff is so friendly no matter what time of day or night you go in. The food is always delicious and they cook it super fast. This past time I was in there about 11 o'clock on a Friday night and everything was perfect except for the two tables of drunk people behind me. They were super loud and obnoxious. But there's nothing waffle house could've done about that, and it was really just as I should've expected for going there on a Friday night that late. PS for anyone who is drunk going to this waffle house there's usually a police officer that hangs out in his car in the parking lot. Typically I think he's looking out over Merchants Drive which is pretty busy, but still I wouldn't risk it read more

Last week when every single place in Knoxville was closing early because of the snowstorm, we were starving and looking for a place to eat... this was the only place that was open by our motel. In fact it's open 24/7 and the service is very friendly! I know this place is a chain but it was definitely new for us California folk. I had a meal that was about $10 because I got the equivalent of what you would get at Denny's: Grand Slam. I got two strips of bacon, sausage, eggs over medium, and hashbrowns w chili, onions, and cheese. I also got a pecan waffle on the side. Everything was yummy and hit the spot. read more

Never before have I eaten a waffle and thought to myself "You know what would be good right now? A waffle." This is a waffle that you make from batter that comes in a gallon jug. This is the first, sacrificial waffle that you make just to get the iron warmed up, the sad, floppy pale thing that you leave at the bottom of the stack to collect the condensation off of the plate from the crisp, fluffy, superior waffles that you make later on. This is the waffle that your dog eats off the counter and then revenge barfs out all over your favorite rug. I have extremely low standards when it comes to chain restaurants. Worst wafflehouse to ever work at or eat! Its nasty inside for 1 and 2 they are refusing to pay me,3 YOU DO NOT GET A 30 MINUTE BREAK EVEN IF YOU WORK 6 OR MORE HOURS,,,THE CAMERAS WILL SHOW THAT. I normally don't write reviews on companies,although I should,but this takes the cake. Waffle house is refusing to pay me on time for hours i already worked. They are supposed to pay weekly,but they are telling me I have to wait until next Monday the 24th for a check I am owed today. Today is the 17th of June and I am owed money from the week of June 3-9. My first paycheck was messed up due to them not providing me a clock in number or name tag until a couple days before I quit and even still the computer wasn't working properly and the manager did not turn my hours in correctly so they had to watch the camera to confirm I was there when I said I was. They tried to blame me for not getting paid on time when in fact there manager didn't do her job.I had to raise hell to get my money for the first check. They take $3/a day for you to eat even if you dont eat, as if you dont get paid 2.30/hr and have to live off tips, or minimum wage if you dont make at least $35 for the day.You must eat the meal at wafflehouse if you do,no take homes. Not to mention there is an employee that lives on the roof, which can be proven as well. I quit June 7th and I'm glad I did because this place is disorderly.This is my worst experience working for any employer! read more

My husband and I were in town for a concert and it had ended. It was about 11:30 PM and we were hungry so we chose this place and I'm so glad we did. This was my first time ever eating at a Waffle House! I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was delicious. The workers were extremely friendly and helpful. Went in Tuesday 10/22 around 730-8pm and will not be back... So nasty seeing servers nodding out at the register while people were trying to leave and then flipping off those customers out the window because they did not leave her a tip. I ended up leaving because who wants to listen and see that while trying to eat your dinner with your children. This place needs new management. read more

Just had the worst experience ever at this Waffle House. Me and my grandmother have a thing about randomly going to Waffle House in the middle of the night.. Well she had a really late lunch today (around 4) so wasn't hungry for her dinner until about 1:00am and God love her she was craving Waffle House.. So here we go.. We go in and the waitress took our order I ordered a bowl of grits and my grandmother got the All Star breakfast. With bacon (extra crispy), grits with extra butter, toast, a waffle which she asked them to hold and she wanted her eggs scrambled BUT she asked for her eggs to be put into the omelet blender before being scrambled Bc she doesn't want any white to be jiggling (she is terrified of the idea of eating egg whites that still move). When the food came she brought my grits first and I knew right away just by looking at them they were not made correctly and we're going to be clumpy.. As were my grandmothers.. Her bacon was cooked correctly and the toast.. That's about all.. The waffle was not held as requested and then there's the eggs.. Totally SCORCHED!! the woman said are those eggs okay?? My grandmother just looked at her and looked at the eggs and before she could say anything the woman was gone.. My grandmother ate the bacon and toast.. Attempted to eat the grits and to just bite her tongue and not say anything about the eggs or waffle that was now cold and like rubber.. When my grandmother got done the server came over and asked her if she wanted a box for her waffle. She replied by asking if they could heat up her waffle or make another since it was now cold and since she was unable to eat the eggs Bc of them being burnt the woman said nothing about the eggs and ran off to get the waffle remade. When she came back to tell us it was being remade she actually had the nerve to ask if my grandmother wanted a to-go box for her other food.. My grandmother just looked at the food and said other what food? Server replied for your food on your plate (Scorched eggs and clumpy grits) My grandmother replied nicely with a no and told her those eggs were completely scorched and not edible.. Woman just looked and said ok I'll make your waffle Togo.. MORAL OF THE STORY.. No waitress or waiter should EVER serve scorched eggs led alone ask if they wanna take them home! And I seen in another review on another site that someone who was there 5hrs ago saw 3-4 reached during her meal.. Gross!! Just go to IHOP!! It's better!! read more
