Being from CA, I always have to go to Waffle House when I am visiting the South. It's good greasy food that always hits the spot. I ordered a biscuit with gravy and a sausage scramble bowl. Karla was our server and she was so incredibly sweet and so attentive. She would bring us refills on our drinks without us even asking, seeing it was low. Food came out very quickly and enjoyed it to the last bit. The gravy was perfect to eat with the scramble bowl too. Would definitely come back to this location if I am in the area. read more

The service is impeccable. The host remembers everyone's name and what order you got there without writing anything down. The staff is nice and the service is pretty quick for so many people cramming into a small place. It could probably be twice as big and still have a wait. My kids love "The House" as they call Wafle House. They love the waffles and they love the hash browns. My oldest likes the mini peanut butter chips and says we need to get them for home while my younger likes mini chocolate chips. The ambiance is fine. The service was excellent and Richey had my order taken and out to me in under 7 minutes. The food is always excellent at Waffle House, although I will say that on this occasion my toast was burnt. It is easy to see that toast is burnt and had they not been filled to capacity they probably would have caught this. If a toaster overcooks, that is not the customer's fault, and they should not have to make a scene and send it back. This is not typical of Waffle House so I kept their rating at 5 stars because they are a great restaurant. They were slammed and the meal was under $10 so it was not a problem. read more

Stopped by Waffle House grab a little breakfast the other day. The staff was very friendly it was on a Sunday so it was packed in there but staff seem to get everyone seated in and everything moving in a quick manner. Sausage hash brown bowl- Love getting a hash brown bowl from there everything was cooked perfectly course you have to mix in a little hot sauce with it and it was great. Waffle- Love getting waffle there cooked awesomely couldn't ask for a better waffle anywhere. There was only two other people in the restaurant eating and none of the staff even acknowledge us at all. There was one cook and three waitress, and noone said a word to us. This is horrible service and we will never be back. We just left. Also, what or we were wait a girl at the other table has a roach crawling under her plate on her table. So disgusting!!!! read more

Most people are familiar with WH and so this review is solely to highlight my experience while visiting Tennessee. Most Sundays are pretty busy for WH, and this day was no exception. It was a full house with a minimal wait, but we were greeted and checked on by the greeter. Who knew WH had greeters/hostesses?! I didn't catch the gentleman's name, but I was blown away by his ability to remember each guest name by memory. And I'm talking about at least 10 waiting guests. He did this while cleaning windows, opening doors, and thanking guests. He was impressive! Our waitress April gave us the best service I've experienced in a very long time. She was one of the nicest people I've probably ever met...just genuinely nice. After we thanked her, she told us WH was where she was supposed to be. Her dream job! So moral of this story is what may seem small to some people is actually huge when some people just need a smile or kindness to get them thru the day. We should all take note! We hit this Waffle House every few months and think we should visit more often. We just had breakfast there. Short 10-15 minute wait. The host has a unique ability to memorize customer names, party size and the order of arrival which made for a smooth transition to a table. He also remembered our names as we exited! We ordered omelettes and they were amazing! Fluffy and perfectly cooked. Service was really good. Waffle House isn't fine dining and the atmosphere isn't what some are looking for but the breakfast is hard to beat and the staff is super nice and attentive. My girlfriend and her cousin went there recently and got bad food poisoning. They went in around 11pm and the employees were upset they came in cuz apparently they wanted to close the lobby early. I'd never been to one of these chains as I don't think we have any in Seattle. We were greeted by an incredibly polite and friendly host who, was after sanitizing and the bar seating area, promptly seated us at the bar where the server immediately placed utensils and menus then asked our beverage order. I could never do their jobs; so efficient and friendly and how they can remember all that is beyond me. Yes, I'm a waffle house girl. Sadly though, this location is close to me however I would rather drive to eat at the one on Papermill Drive. This one never seems to be as clean. They are usually busy and with that said extremely slow at turning tables over. I have had my order messed up at this location practically every time I have been here. With that said, Dine at your own risk. I'm not saying I don't eat here or won't be back but I usually don't have the best experience when I am at this particular Waffle House. Hope this helps! This is as good as Waffle House gets. We got exactly what we ordered, it was cooked well, delicious, and our service was pretty amazing. Best ever Waffle House service, really. The waitress came by to check on us and refill our coffee regularly, even offering to pour our my half-filled cup and refill it with fresh. She was as attentive as wait staff in any full-service restaurant. I ordered one of the hash brown bowls, which I think is a cool addition to the menu. Saturday is Game Day in Knoxville, so I expected Waffle House to be packed with people wearing orange, and I was not disappointed. We don't do much orange in our household, and besides, weekends are Superhero Days for us, so I was relieved to discover our opponents colors were red, as my boy and I walked in sporting our Green Lantern shirts. We arrived at the perfect time and were able to snag the next to last available booth. My son ordered the Junior Waffle & Sausage, with peanut butter chips for the waffle. When it arrived, I received one of my infrequent reminders of just how much more work my wife does when it comes to raising our son, as I set out to portion off a quarter of his waffle at a time, butter it, pour syrup on it, and get it ready for him to eat. I'm pretty sure I'm less efficient at that than my wife, but he didn't seem to mind. After downing more than half of his Apple Juice in just a few huge draws, he began devouring his waffle. This picture shows the second quarter waffle. I ordered the All-Star Special. Waffle with PB, Eggs scrambled with cheese, Hash Browns, White Toast, and Crisp Bacon. By the time I finished preparing my son's food I was hungry enough that I inhaled my waffle before remembering to take any pictures. The waffle was typical Waffle House fare - simply good, and probably the best quickly delivered waffle you'll ever have. I wish I'd had more peanut butter, but I didn't feel like waiting for it. Here's a picture of my other plate containing eggs, hash browns, and bacon. I realized when the food arrived that I hadn't ordered the hash browns with any extra toppings. Slightly disappointed at first, I quickly recalled all the times that asking for them without using their special terms (scattered, covered, smothered, etc) resulted in me not getting what I wanted anyway, so plain turned out to be just fine. The bacon was awesome. You'd think it would be hard to screw up bacon, but if you thought that, you'd be very wrong. I continue to be amazed that the line cooks at Waffle House can turn out "crisp bacon" perfectly nearly every single time, while presumably higher paid cooks at much more expensive restaurants routinely get it wrong. My son ended up putting away three quarters of his waffle before he declared he was, "all done." Normally we'd sit and enjoy a few minutes of cartoons on his iPad, but there was a crowd standing all along the wall waiting to eat. So I wolfed the rest down, pointed out all the waiting folks to my son, asked him if we should get up so they could have our table and eat. He agreed that yes, that would be the nice thing to do. Little life lessons at the Waffle House. I can't say we eat at Waffle House very often, but when we do, we like it - especially our son. Highly recommended for fun breakfast. read more

Had probably one of the single worst experiences at a restaurant ever at this place. Staff was discourteous and rude. Seemingly deliberately wasn't served toast with my 2 egg breakfast order following which the waitress made a disingenuous apology (after I notified her if the error) and said they will fix it. My nephew and I tried two Cracker Barrels that were both too busy to get into before we came to this Waffle House. I am very glad that we did. As soon as we got in the parking lot: Chris was waving at us from the door welcoming us in, seated us very quickly at a booth he throughly cleaned himself. Our waitress, Colleen, was very friendly, took our order quickly and efficiently and even gave us free chocolate chip waffles. Our breakfast orders arrived quickly and were delicious. It's a Waffle House, what else are you going to expect besides a southern diner. Everything there is just like it should be. Food is good, servers are good, and atmosphere is good. My only problem is the speed in which the food comes is a bit slower than others. But everything else is good and is what you expect from a Waffle House.
