Stopped by Waffle House this Sunday morning, and despite it being very busy, the service was good! Their locations are small but we got there just in time because a table opened up. Our food came out quickly, and everything was hot and delicious. I enjoyed breakfast with my sisters, brother-in-law, and nephew, making for a great start to the day. We ordered the All-Star Special, the sausage, egg & cheese hash brown bowl, and the Texas egg & cheese melt plate. Everything was cooked just right! For drinks, we had orange juice and water--simple but refreshing. The staff was friendly, efficient, and kept everything running smoothly even with the crowd.

It does not matter where I am I going to find a Waffle House. The breakfast is so good. They are quick with the service. It's always packed so sometimes there is a bit of a wait to sit down. The place is also small. The grits good just right creamy and the butter just melts. The waffle is so good it just melts in your mouth. I have no complaints when it come to they food it's always satisfying.

If you've spent any amount of time in the South, or even the Midwest, you've no doubt seen superfluous numbers of Waffle House restaurants dotting the country. With 1,900+ locations and more than 40,000 employees, WH sightings are common at damn-near every highway intersection, in small towns, and nestled into small commercial lots between gas stations, muffler shops, and convenience stores. Despite annual cross-country road trips and a cult-following, we had never stopped at an "Awful House" as the unenlightened might refer to this gem. That all changed a few days ago... with time to kill in Orlando waiting a day for our flight home, we finally pulled into the small lot of an unassuming WH, literally next door to a pawn shop. As we entered the door, the first thing we noticed as a long line waiting for a table or a seat at the counter. The kind manager informed us we were "fifth in line," and didn't bother to take our name.... Dude just remembered who was next. While waiting, I looked around the small interior: several workers busied themselves behind the counter and out into the small restaurant, hustling plates and mugs of hot coffee to hungry guests. I found myself sitting nest to "the Sisters"-- two nice gals who promised me they wouldn't bite, and had all the plumage of enjoying the retired life-- definitely regulars at this Waffle House. When they got their table, they ordered "their usual" before they even sat down. We were seated quickly and ordered up our breakfasts from the limited menu. The grill rockstar cook had our food to us quickly, and our server was kind to the kids and efficient with our service. Food was fine and cheap. On our way out, we had a laugh with one server, Tyler the Styler, who when asked about his awesome tie-dye Waffle House hat, informed us about a selection of WH gear at the nearby WalMart, and a larger selection on the WH website. If you've never seen it, you're really missing out. ... and if you've avoided WH all these years, lower your champagne expectations a little bit and go enjoy some Real Life on your next vacation. It's quick, cheap, and easy... probably the most wholesome thing you'll enjoy on vacation with that combination of adjectives.

Waffle House has become an iconic presence on the culinary landscape here in the southeastern United States. It seems that their familiar logo beckons in all of its bright yellow neon glory road-weary travelers, partying college kids, parents with kids in tow, hungry workers seeking a casual and quick sit-down meal and just about everyone else from every walk of life. Since Waffle House opened its first location back on September 5, 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, it quickly established itself by offering a consistent selection of food and by being open twenty-four hours a day. This particular location is a bit set back and might be easy to miss. It is close to the intersection of Semoran Boulevard and Curry Ford Road. For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways. For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never having a waffle and a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one. If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. It seems that they are on almost every major highway exit ramp and strategically placed throughout most cities and towns in the southeast. If you see one, give them a try.

Thank you Rachel for waiting on me. Great attitude, full of smiles. Sorry the last guest got upset and got you a bit frustrated. You're doing a great job and love that you know your customers name and interact with them like they're apart of your family. It was my first time having a breakfast bowl and I loved it! My new breakfast meal now!

It is nice when you can give a positive review and today the Waffle House deserved the 5 stars. Our server was excellent and breakfast excellent and so filling. We have not been to Waffle House in years for no other reason and just not going. This morning my wife had blood work done early so we decided to stop at Waffle House. We will be returning for breakfast and this Waffle House is less than a mile from our home. I had one of the bowl's and could not eat it all (full). My wife had the eggs, hash browns and toast with tea. Definitely will return for breakfast in the future.

Not that anyone will ever read this, but this is the first waffle house I've ever been to that said 'no' to the veteran discount?! This company was founded by two veterans!? (I'd give the discount back to the server anyway)

Can't complain about the all American breakfast with a waffle, 2 eggs, bacon, and a biscuit. The server was very sweet and managed multiple tables with ease.

Linda is an amazing server and definitely provides great customer service to her tables, came in on a Sunday very quick service, good prices, and the music is great also. Food is a little bland but what do you expect it's Waffle House. Will definitely be coming back.

My friend wanted to take me to a restaurant I've never been to before and was surprise when I said I'd never been to Waffle House and requested to eat here. Since my favorite meal is breakfast for dinner we went to dinner time; I ordered waffles and sausages. I loved the inside from the 50's diner counter, to the white plates stacked on top of the cabinet to the $1 jukebox. It's small and cozy. Immediately upon entering the staff greeted us and the manager on duty ( I believe his name is Eric) was very personable. More than just welcoming us to the restaurant he initiated small talk about our day. The service was fast and the food was nice and hot . My food had regular dinner favor; but it wasn't bad. The prices are ver reasonable for the portion so I would definitely stop here again.

XAVIER is amazing and so is the food! The food was amazing! The blueberry waffle that was served by XAVIER was so delicious along with the chocolate milk that XAVIER made is so delicious i'm in love with the food and don't even get me started on the customer service! The employee XAVIER had amazing customer service, XAVIER was very respectful when he was taking my order and let me take as much time as I needed ordering my delectable blueberry waffles!

Definitely a fun group and honestly, the perfect place to get everyone together. Now, I'm going to be honest. I don't think the food was really up to par. Nothing was terrible, but nothing had me thinking, "Wow, I need to come back here for this." The mimosas, however, were doing their job quite nicely. Then again, once you've had enough mimosas, does the food really matter that much? At that point, it's all about the conversation, the laughs and the people you're sitting around the table with. And on that front, this brunch delivered.

It was very loud from all the people and blaring music, so this place would not be ideal for a quiet work session. I was surprised by how friendly everybody was in there, including the staff and patrons. The peanut butter latte was amazing. Even the girl next me said it was good before I got to try a sip. Stopped in at Briarpatch on Park Avenue for a weekday brunch to continue my birthday celebrations…read more Even for a standard weekday, the place was packed to the gills, which is par for the course here, though being seated right by the front door had its downsides. Our high-top caught the steady breeze of people cycling in and out, trading blasts of humid Florida air with AC, but it was manageable enough. Our server was solid and attentive, though the kitchen had a couple of operational hiccups. I ordered the fried green tomatoes to start, but they were forgotten until after our main plates had already landed on the table. When they arrived, the execution was decent. The batter didn't adhere well and slipped off the tomatoes, though the accompanying sauce carried the dish nicely. On the drink side, the virgin blackberry lemonade hit the mark completely: balanced, tart, and refreshing. The breakfast mains were where the kitchen redeemed itself. I built my meal around the bacon and mushroom omelette, which was formidable. It was fully loaded with bacon, cheese, peppers, onions, and mushrooms without feeling greasy or heavy. They had run out of biscuits, which was surprising for a brunch spot mid-shift, so I subbed in sourdough toast. The undisputed star of the meal was the side of cheese grits. I am notoriously particular about grits, restaurants almost always serve them under-salted, gluey, or watery, requiring a table-side overhaul of butter, salt, and pepper. These were dialed in straight from the kitchen. The texture, dairy integration, cheese ratio, and baseline seasoning were spot-on without needing a single touch of salt or pepper. Minor timing and stock quirks aside, BriarPatch remains a reliable staple. I left full, satisfied, and reminded why it is always worth keeping in the local Park Ave rotation.
