    Chicken Sando

I normally love waffle love and hadn't been in a while so i decided to treat myself. Unfortunately when I got home with my chicken sando I was met with burnt and dry chicken that was almost inedible. I made the mistake of not checking my togo order before leaving so I couldn't have the girls remake it. Luckily the fries weren't burnt so I still had food to eat after throwing away the sandwich.

The beers of Germany are perfect. Today's special was AMAZING. not good, it was great. 3 of us ate and drank and it was $75. I will take that all day. The food so darn good. Silly to miss this.

I could not have been more impressed with the food, probably the best German style Schnitzel I've ever had! The cutlet was pounded perfectly thin with a fantastic breading that was crisp and perfectly seasoned. The Spaetzle was perfect, can't wait to try the other varieties on the menu. We had Oma's almond cake, which was as light as a feather with flavors of nutmeg and cinnamon, it was perfection. Tante Emma is coming to downtown Boise this fall, and I can't wait to become on of their regulars. There are few German offerings in the Treasure Valley, and as a person of German heritage, I crave the food. I can't wait to introduce them to my in-laws who are also German. The place is cute as well, and offers great German wines and Beers. Don't miss the pretzel, it comes with three different dipping sauces and was hands down the best damn German pretzel Ive ever had, perfectly hot right out of the oven and delicious.

My husband enjoyed the popular John Wayne platter that he wolfed down like no one's business. My only gripe - the steep prices. Both our dishes were $19.95 plus drinks brought the total to over $60.00 before tipping. For breakfast? Even in this economy?! I don't pay much attention to prices when looking at a menu, but this has got to be one of the pricier breakfast options in the valley. Would I return? Sure. I get it, rent is due. It just caught me a little off guard.

Of course my friend and I ordered some beignets and we both agreed that they were the highlight of our experience. They were super fresh and really light and fluffy. My friend ordered the biscuits and gravy which we both agreed that the gravy tasted almost a little too sweet. I got a hearty breakfast with hash-browns, toast, sausage, and eggs. Mine tastes very fresh but I will say lack some flavor. Also if your going on a weekend morning just expect to have a wait time. Totally understandable for the size of the restaurant and the amount of customer flow. But their team worked very efficiently and fast! Overall, I would definitely come back for some beignets and I'll have to try a coffee next time!

The brisket was flavorful, the grits were good, and he substituted a biscuit for toast. Oddly, the biscuit was served completely plain. When I asked a staff member if it normally came with butter or jam, they looked genuinely confused by the question. I eventually just asked for jam, but it felt like a strange interaction. I ordered the Brisket Benedict and the Monte Cristo. The Benedict looked great when it arrived, but one poached egg was perfectly runny while the other was significantly overcooked with a mostly solid yolk. The brisket was dry, the collard greens underneath were dry, and there wasn't enough hollandaise to compensate. The breakfast potatoes were crispy and fine, but nothing memorable. The Monte Cristo was the biggest letdown. When I order a Monte Cristo, I expect something rich, savory, and indulgent. This version was made with bland white bread, the bacon was very soft, and the sandwich lacked the flavor and texture that make a Monte Cristo worth ordering. It looked better than it tasted. Service was pleasant, but no one checked on our table after the food arrived, despite the restaurant not being very busy. Had someone stopped by, I would have mentioned the overcooked egg. Overall, one good dish out of three isn't enough to make me want to return. Based on this visit, I'd give it 3 stars.
