I had really really high expectations of this place as it is part of the Chubby Group. Disappointed was I..... Restaurant and food presentation was great, but the taste was not it. Some meats were hard to chew. Some meats were cut way too big for the Shabu. The tomato Shabu soup base was not appealing at all. We mostly enjoyed the grilled meat. The dim sum items were not a hit. We didn't even want to try the curry because of the let down. This place is very mehhhhh. Wagyu Factory, please offer a salad to eat with the grilled meat. Please cut your Shabu meats half the size. It's so big that it's a choking hazard. Please remove your dim sum option. That's just waste of space. Lastly, please have a sliding door to protect your meats from dirty and bugs. TLDR: would I go again? Maybe if I was in this area with guests. The price point for the cheapest menu isn't the worst (~$40 before tax an tip), but I don't see myself coming often because the food wasn't THAT memorable. This place gets busy at dinner time around 7pm, they have a Yelp waitlist at their front door but you can also rsvp on Google a few days beforehand. There's plenty of parking in the plaza. The place wasn't the biggest, and all the basic meats, seafood, veggies, drinks, and desserts were right at the entrance. The waiter (I forgot his name) took his time to explain the menu quickly to us before we got started and was very attentive in changing our grill often throughout. We ended up going with the last menu which allowed us to get wagyu in bbq and hotpot. Most of the meats were tender! We didn't get a lot of the meats at the station because of the wagyu so I don't really know how they taste. The only memorable one was the finger meat (or something along that name) that was melt in your mouth. The wagyu burger was ok, the bun was dry and hard. The egg tarts had a flaky and buttery pastry but the custard was very eggy and slightly on the firmer side. I tried the All-You-Can-Eat Wagyu option at Wagyu Factory, without hot pot, and it was only $48 per person. Kids under 2 years old are free, which is a nice bonus for families. The beef was fresh, flavorful, and had a rich taste. I also liked that they offer different types of Wagyu, sliced or cut in different thicknesses, so you can enjoy a variety of textures and flavors. Came here on a Saturday for lunch. The wait time was about 50-72 minutes. When we got seated the server was really nice, told us how it all works, gave us different options as far as prices and what comes with it. The area where the food is for self serve was pretty small. Variety of veggies and noodles was very limited but it's ok, we were there for the meat! Our server Hendy was nice and attentive. Came by often to check on us. Love the meat varieties. I went with a friend to celebrate her birthday. We got the BBQ w/shabu options. In this tier, most food is self serve. It was fun to see as that many types of meat options. I personally wasn't in the mood to try a rice bowl but did think it was cute that it was an option. They have some dimsum which I found okay but nothing particularly outstanding. The milk tea was good but the cups were more slippery than expected aka I did spill my drink. I did enjoy the salad of the veg options but it did overwhelmingly lean shabu ingredients. There was corn cheese but that does seem to sit under a heat lamp for a while. The same can be said for the wagyu burgers that I did not try. I don't have commentary on the shabu part because I don't particularly enjoy shabu. The servers were nice and you are able to easily request a grill change. This bbq is a significantly different experience from kbbq due to the amount of fire that comes when you grill a fattier cut. With how the meat is organized and how much meat you can grill at once, I didn't feel I ate as much as I might with kbbq. Since most of the meat is marinated, I didn't feel the extra dipping sauces added all that much. Overall, it was fine. It just didn't feel particularly worth it the price with my eating habits. Food wise: I feel like the quality of all the meats that were served was very fresh, the color and everything looked great. Even the veggies for the hotpot were amazing too! The flavor and taste of the meat was tender and good. There were many different types of cut of meats and also, pretty much all kinds including beef, lamb, pork and chicken. There are also different sides and dessert. It has this rice machine with different types of side entrees to put on top. It also has dim sum and fried items to be ordered on the iPad. Everything was self served which was great cuz we don't have to wait for it to be brought out. Service wise: Hio was our server and she went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. She was quick with everything like refilling our broth for our hotpot and even helped us with the grill including changing out the grill top. She was great! Ambiance wise: it was pretty clean overall and spacious. It didn't feel muggy from all the grilling and was well ventilated. Good for a date or a smaller size party cuz mainly there was only one big table that fit 10-12. What a great addition to this neighborhood! It's been multiple styles of "grilling" spots, but I'm glad that it's now part of the Chubby Cattle umbrella. They have 3 tiers and the top two include the hotpot option. I don't think they really have enough veggies to make the hotpot worth it but the meat selection is great. The grill does tend to flame up, but they keep the place well ventilated and pretty attentive to changing your grill. The eats to chose from at the bar (lowest tier) is still worth it.... HIGHLY recommend the marinated rib finger. It's literally kalbi without the bone gnawing. The highest tier comes with the thin a5 (one serving per person) and other thin slices of different cuts. They are on the fattier end and ted to cause the flame ups. Drinks (soda/tea/milktea) included, there's a small section for hot foods, and the desserts the offer could be better. We had a great experience at Wagyu Factory! We came here on a Friday night and arrived just before 6pm and had to wait about 20 minutes. There was, what looked like, a much longer wait by the time we left so I recommend coming early as they do not do reservations. The restaurant was restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. The staff was great at checking in on us and changing our our grill. What I was really impressed by is the lack of smoky meat smell that typically comes with BBQ restaurants. This place just felt and smelled very fresh! Their menu is reasonably priced and we decided to just stick with the basic tier which is BBQ (excluding the expensive cuts) without the hot pot. Even with the basic tier we had such a variety of cuts of meat to choose from! And on top of the meat, there were so many additional foods to eat such as wagyu sliders, dumplings, beef curry and then of course the delicious desserts! Great service, but A5 wagyu tastes like USDA Select. In picture 1: A5 signature cut (left), A5 shank (middle), A5 top round (right). 75 dollar per person. We were here a couple times and we have membership. It was the only Wagyu Ace option in Seattle. Previously A5 signature cut is limited to one per person, very high quality. Now they update it to be unlimited, which means the meat quality dropped. Don't go with premium option, if you tried Wagyu before you will immediately know this is no where close to A5. Dining experience is great, I like the beef short rib slice, knuckle and finger meat. There are plenty of hot food options. We got shrimp tempura and takoyaki. (I didn't get a picture of it.) Went on a Friday night and waited about an hour for dinner. You get 90 minutes to dine, with last call at 70 minutes. We chose the BBQ-only option for $49.99. For this tier, all meats are self-serve and the quality was solid, with good marbling that felt worth the price. You can order some appetizers on the iPad, but they did not really stand out. The fries were good. There is also a self-serve burger, dim sum, corn cheese which was really good, and options to build rice bowls with curry and Wagyu. Our favorite meats were the miso Wagyu otoro, Wagyu karubi, and short rib. Most of the meats come marinated. Sauce options were limited to two BBQ sauces, chili powder, and a sweet salt and pepper blend that got tiring, and they did not have plain salt. They changed the grill often, which was appreciated because with all that fat the fire got intense. Overall, a delicious AYCE Wagyu BBQ experience with good meat quality and variety. We used to go to their previous location, Niku Niku Japanese Barbecue, and always had good experiences, so we decided to order the Ultimate A5 this time. Everything was going well at first. The meat quality was great and we were enjoying our dinner. However, during the last round, we ordered the A5 Signature Cut, and what we received did not look or taste like the A5 we had been served earlier. The texture and marbling were clearly different. My husband wanted to speak to the waitress about it, but since we were almost done with dinner, I told him not to. Still, the situation left me feeling uncomfortable. It honestly felt like they assumed we wouldn't notice the difference, which was disappointing. When you're paying for the Ultimate A5 tier, you expect transparency and consistency. Got there at 510 and was 21 in line. We didn't get seated for TWO hours. I can't wait till they go back to reservations because I will NOT be back till I can make a reservation prior!
