Delicious all-you-can-eat Wagyu BBQ & hotpot. The meats are all so good and of high quality. Some truly melt in your mouth. Their self-serve hot dishes are also so good (except for the curry that's a bit salty). We were expecting a long wait as we arrived exactly at noon, but we were seated in less than a minute. Reservation is highly recommended since the restaurant is not that big. We didn't like this location since it's in Aurora Ave. There weren't a whole lot of beef selections for my taste. There are a lot of places to eat next to where I am, so my friend and I looked around. This one had a visual menu on the outside of the restaurant that just drew us in. We decided to get a membership, which came with a really amazing cut of hangar steak wagyu, a the bbq combo with shabu shabu. We grabbed 8 different appetizers, some much better than others. The best ones were the Wagyu fried rice (if my mom saw me eating rice an at all you can eat place, she might disown me, but this was phenomenal), i think a chicken skin dumpling and the chicken karaage. These were all pretty amazing and I would definitely get these again, but not sure about the rest of them. There was a place where you could get a bunch of dumplings. I would say this isn't the place to go to eat dumplings, as much better ones exist in the world. There was this area where you could pick different things to put over rice. I skipped the rice and just got the Japanese Wagyu bowl. I think this was my favorite thing they had as the sauce was just so rich and flavorful, plus the meat in it was so tender. They have a jasmine and black milk tea dispenser, and I don't even know how many refills I got of the jasmine milk tea, but I would come back for that too! Next comes the meats. We tried every cut of meat we could for the bbq, except the chicken. Absolutely all of them tasted amazing, especially the rib tips and the short rib. The one that tasted the least flavorful of the bunch was the big piece of meat, but I don't recall which one that was. Everything else was at a really high level of quality that we definitely appreciated. For the shabu shabu, the meats that came with that went so well with the sukiyaki broth, especially after we got our mushrooms, bok choy and garlic in it. Both the egg dip and the sesame dip were definitely the way to go as well. For desserts, their egg tart was phenomenal. They also had these cups of mango and strawberry that were amazing too. The strawberry one had a rose water flavor that just pulled it all together. The tiramisu one I guess can be good if you like coffee. The part that is overwhelming though. It is REALLY hard to cook over fire, boil meats in a pot and eat at the same time. I don't think I'm physically capable of doing all 3 at once. But the service here is great. The atmosphere here is great. And I'm excited the membership comes with a free birthday meal that I'll use in La. I think this is a great place to come eat! read more

Food was great and service was attentive! Came here for Father's Day weekend and we made reservations in advance which I highly recommend. Theres a parking lot and it's inside a plaza with other restaurants and an Asian family mart. The self service bar had a lot of options - cooked proteins, dim sum items, meat to grill, hot pot meat and veggies, rice, desserts (cakes, ice cream, egg tarts) milk teas were also pretty good! It's a little overwhelming because they have different tier options for pricing. We got the highest one which lets us order off the kiosk and get the wagyu meats. We also ended up joining their chubby club membership which hopefully kind of pays for itself if you keep coming back. Soup base for the hot pot was tasty and they changed the grills upon request and if they notice it getting dirty. I appreciate that this spot also is kid friendly. This restaurant is attached to a grocery store that I frequently shop at...I went there for the second time just a few days ago with two companions. The first time I went was with my son- he took me for father's day and we splurged somewhat, we both got the all-you-can-eat grill and shabu-shabu. It was way too much food. So when we went back a few days ago the three of us got JUST the all-you-can-eat bbq/grill option at about $50 per person. There is a club you can join called the 'chubby club'. If you join the club there are perks including a discounted rate...the quick math was that you'd have to go about 10 times a year to make the club pay off. I don't eat out like that...going to a buffet once a month is not my jam. And the discounted rates are still in the $40 dollar range which is still alot for eating out. You should make a reservation if you can, they're pretty busy. There are some established ground rules for eating here that you should know before you go: you order apps from the tablet at your table. You can get up to 5 at a time and you can order more every 5 minutes. This seems crazy - but it's a ton of food. Both times I've gone I've only ordered 5 apps. All were pretty solid. The shrimp were particularly good. Also: there is a time limit. This makes sense to me. I'm pretty sure the first time we went we were told that we had 90 minutes. This last time they told us we had 70 minutes. Lastly, you are charged for any food you take from the buffet but do not eat. This also totally makes sense to me- I like the idea that is saves waste. I don't mind taking that on. It worked for us- we didn't have anything left. I made sure of that. :) The selection is pretty impressive. I'm stuck in that mode at an all-you-can-eat buffet where I'm going to load up on meat because that's the most expensive part. So my first trip to the buffet I come back with wagyu and shrimp and all the selections of meats. My companions, knowing me, had added veggies to their plates. Seriously, there's a lot to choose from including soups and curries, steamed rice and dumplings. Desserts as well including soft-serve ice cream, custards and a tart. They have milk-tea, miso soup, and even wagyu cheeseburgers. Wide variety. The food quality seems pretty good as well- it's a step above what you might expect from a buffet...I am not under the impression that they're making anything in-house...except for maybe marinating some of the meat...the rest of it, apps, desserts, etc., is all bought in, I'm sure of it. Still, not bad. The location is a bit odd, but it's pretty clean. They have a lot of people working and the servers were very attentive...turning our grill up or down as needed and replacing the grill when it needed replacing. Ultimately, this is not a 'fine dining' experience, but it is somwhere I'll take friends when we're really hungry and want something that offers a wide variety of options. We were $180 in at the end of the evening for three people with a tip...so it ain't cheap. Join the 'chubby club' if you dare and you'll pay a bit less. I've also been to the other location in Tustin, CA and compared to that location this one is smaller and does have less options but this is still pretty good. The staff is very nice and friendly.The meats were good and were replenished once low. My favorite was the black pepper beef cubes. The matcha nama chocolate Swiss roll cake was very popular, unfortunately I didn't grab it in the beginning and it was out by the time I went for dessert and the staff said they didn't have anymore. I was skeptical since I've been to AYCA BBQ where you grab your own meats and the meats are usually pretty low quality, however, this was such a great experience. There are three tiers and we picked the highest where it was BBQ + Shabu Shabu + A5 wagyu ($75 each). The shabu shabu is a smaller pot, but it's still AYCA. There's a large selection of meats, classic briskets to beef tongue and duck. There were also wagyu mini sliders too. There are a handful of fried items that's a part of the tiers, but we mainly just stuck with wagyu. The wagyu was delicious, although thin, you can order a lot. Some of the wagyu was large, but there were scissors to cut it smaller. There is a time limit though, you can only order every 5 minutes and I believe you can eat for about an hour. There's also a small selection of sweets: soft served ice cream, mousses, swiss roll cakes, and fresh fruit. There are vegetables, greens, and mushrooms for the shabu shabu as well. There were also some dim sum, but I didn't try any. Service was fast and friendly. And they even made our friend a small slice of cake for his birthday, that was very nice! I was very impressed with the ventilation that's built inside the grill, so the smoke is suck up before it gets into the air and stink up your clothes/hair! read more

Service is terrible here. My group and I have visited a couple times and service thus far had been mediocre, but today was the last straw for us. When it was time to check out, we paid with one card and rounded up our check to make things easier to split since we had a big group and then we were going to give a larger tip in cash. As someone in the restaurant industry, I always appreciate cash tips and am always carrying cash to tip my fellow industry workers. Before we could do so, the server went to the busser and showed him how much we tipped and they side-eyed us. We also saw the server visibly shake his head as we were doing our calculations. Our server gave us our receipt and says "thanks for the $8." How rude! Again, as someone in the industry, I never expect a tip (especially if I didn't provide good service) and I would never confront a PAYING customer for a bad tip. Wagyu factory (part of the chubby group) takes over the old niku feast space in front of asian family mart. They're perfect for a group of 2-4 and offer self service meat, sides, and desserts. It can get a little expensive with non-members paying about $50 before tax/tip for the lowest tier. Moving up the tiers includes other cuts of meat and a portable shabu option. If you want to become a member, there's a fee associated with it. There's different cuts of wagyu cuts for shabu and bbq but it didn't seem to matter which cut you got. There's also some self serve dim sum, sliders, cooked meat toppings (Taiwanese braised meat, curry, etc), and veggies that are specifically for shabu unless you want to grill it. There's a small menu of fried items (karage, chicken tenders, chicken skin gyoza, shrimp). There's a wide assortment of drinks like soda, yuzu tea, and milk tea. Lastly for dessert, there's ice cream, different rolls, egg tarts, and different cakes. Overall, everything was solid from the meats to the sides. Although everything was good, they need to update the table layouts. He keeps checking on us but did not bother us why we enjoy eating . He even showed us how to perfectly cook the A5 signature cuts for us . One thing about the ultimate waqyu experience though, the meat each round we ordered look slightly different quality . The A5 meat photo on their ordering system screen look superior than the real meat we got but it's still good. We did not get the shabu added on cause we could not care less about that . Wagyu Factory has become our go-to for AYCE bbq! We have tried their wagyu option and it was great but we usually are already more than happy with their regular bbq option. My favorite meats are: bone-in short rib, wagyu karubi, and finger meat slice. I love cheese corn so I always get a couple from their buffet bar. I also love that they have a good selection of drinks - my favorites are the black milk tea and the jasmine milk tea. For desserts, their cakes are so-so so I would go for the soft serve and egg tarts. Service is usually great. We've been assigned to Hendy's area a couple of times and he's amazing! One downside is that the wait is usually long (about 2 hrs). They have started opening reservations for select time slots on Yelp so definitely get those if you can. If you're nearby, this is a great place to hang out and eat. Came on Saturday lunch time when it opened 5 mins before and put our names down. Shortly after, we were seated. We had chubby plus which was a good membership for us since we live by other places. Meats were displayed and self serve. I think I preferred just grill vs shabu but having ramen at the end was nice. Selection was a lot and more than your average AYCE places. Sauces were good but I had hoped for something a bit more salty or to have option of plain salt. Meat look red and fresh. Chicken skin gyoza was good. Our server Derrick explained the menu to us and made sure we always had a new grill or had everything we needed. Wagyu Factory kept almost all of the same seating as the previous Niku Niku, so each booth fits about 6 people with 1 grill each. Only one section has 2 grills for 1 party. The Friday dinner wait time without a reservation was at least 2 hours estimated. Good thing we had a reservation! The wagyu karubi was one of the best cuts, but it was also one of the fattiest ones creating more flames. Luckily, the server would change the grill and/or lower the temp when we cooked those. I was surprised my hair didn't smell like I had been BBQing afterwards. I found that the appetizers were all pretty mediocre except for the Japanese wagyu bowl. The curry rice and kimchi pork bowl were the only bowls I didn't try. Both the octopus and kimchi "buns" split open when trying to grab them. None of the fried appetizers stood out, but that day maybe the fried oysters and shrimp tempura were slightly better than the takoyaki, chicken skin gyoza, and chicken karage. If I could do it over again, I wouldn't have focused so much on appetizers and should have eaten more of the wagyu. The tablet didn't clearly indicate how many items came in each hot dish, so it was confusing when some came individually or with random amounts. It would help if the pics matched how many come in each order, so people don't end up overordering - leading to food waste. Dessert wise - the egg tart and red bean taiyaki were my favorites. The mousse was just artificial flavored fluff. The tiramisu mousse had no hint of tiramisu at all, but the mango mousse did taste like regular mango flavoring. Had a good experience here. Came after 7pm on a Monday night and had to wait about 20 minutes. If you're on the waitlist make sure you get a text when you first add yourself to the waitlist, because they also text you when your table is ready and for some reason I didn't get either text but luckily the guy at the front took care of us. Did bbq for $50/person or $44 for members. All the raw meats were at the buffet that you grab yourself, which I really like because you can see it and take the cuts/pieces that you want that look good and you can take as little or and much as you want. Some of the meats were really high quality and beautifully marbled. There is a soft drink machine, ice cream machine, vegetables like king oyster mushrooms and zucchini, fruits like pineapple and watermelon. The ice cream was vanilla soft serve and it tasted like real ice cream, not the fake watery type that some Asian places have. The only critiques I would have is the buffet area gets pretty crowded at times since it's all in one space and the grills are on the smaller side - it was only two of us and we were running out of grills space, I couldn't imagine having to share the grill with four people. There was a table of five obese individuals at the table across from us and I have no idea how they were able to cook enough food to satisfy their seemingly large appetites within their time limit. If you add the shabu, they bring a portable stove to your table so then you have a hot pot of broth plus your grill space, so it could be worth it to do that just to have the ability to cook more food faster before your stomach feels full. Personally, I wouldn't come here with more than a party of two. I would definitely come back, ideally with reservations. Service was good but you don't really need them for much since you get all your own meat, drinks, sides, desserts, extra napkins/utensils yourself. I came here when it was still Niku Niku and we went all out with the A5 hotpot experience. They had three different shabu broths. The A5 was super tender and definitely the highlight. There's also a side bar where you can grab extra meats for shabu plus veggies and other add-ons, which I loved because you can mix and match whatever you want. The grill would get really hot sometimes and the flames would flare up pretty big, so it was kind of chaotic to watch--but also really cool at the same time. Visiting after their soft opening, so having higher expectations around their staffing and operations. Came in as a large party of 10 and had a great time! There is a large space cut out for big groups that seat 8-9 comfortably but can squeeze 10. I've been following some of the Chubby Group restaurants since I visited Vegas a few years back. While I know nothing else besides the restaurants, David Zhao's chains are fun because of the unique experiences and types of restaurants. I'd recommend jumping to the Ultimate A5, which I'll definitely come back for. We wanted to start with the basic BBQ but I'm not quite convinced the silver tier BBQ is worth it as the meats are the same as Niku Niku, but at a premium cost. However, the marbling on the A5 menu look fantastic. Great service, ample parking with the large plaza, and a restroom available outside of the restaurant (through the mall). Self serve bar is nice! Ability to grab meat rather than waiting to order and have it delivered does feel nice. Though again, meats here more on the basic side as they were available previously. Dim sum selection isn't the best, but cool that it's available. Their little wagyu beef sliders are tasty (a friend noted a similar taste to a quarter pounder). Dessert includes a strong selection of cake swiss rolls, egg tarts, cakes in a shot glass, red bean taiyaki with condensed milk, and soft serve. For drinks, there's a great selection. Black milk tea and jasmine milk tea machines were great additions to the space, in addition to a soda fountain and Calpico plus a rotating fruit tea. On the appetizer front, there's basic takoyaki, tempura shrimp, karaage, potato balls, fries, and gyoza. For the lower tiers, the iPad only lets you order appetizers which isn't very exciting (chicken skin gyoza is unique though). As someone who's been at this location from Niku Niku to Niku Feast to now Wagyu Factory, the quality of meat has stayed pretty consistent and their offerings have increased. The vibe is definitely a bit more chaotic and upbeat since its buffet style now and you grab your own meats and with that, expect some things to run out until the next refill as it is normally a packed house during dinner time. Service is alright but as stated earlier; a lot of it is self service and with it being packed most of the time, be patient with the kitchen service and meat delivery if you choose to upgrade to the higher meat options. Alongside the meats, they have some rice bowl options such as the kimchi pork or Japanese Wagyu with a rice dispenser. They also have a soda fountain and a dessert section. Heard a lot of hype about an AYCE A5 Wagyu spot so had to come try it out. This place is located in the building with Asian family market, so there's plentiful parking. My friends and I came for lunch, so it wasn't super busy and we were sat immediately. We ended up getting the AYCE A5, which was like $80pp without a membership. Service was really nice, they came to change our grill, check on our shabu shabu soup, etc. The only thing they serve is the plates of A5 Wagyu. Everything else is self serve in their little bar area. Variety of meats is pretty good and quality was pretty good too. However, too much of a good thing definitely applies here. After awhile, the heavy marbling and grease from the A5 Wagyu became too much. I wish they had some other sides that would help cut the greasiness. As for the shabu shabu, that was fine. Don't think it's worth to pay more for it. The shabu ingredients weren't as high quality. The bar area did have other hot foods like kungpao chicken, kimchi pork, rice, fried oysters, desserts which was not bad. I did enjoy their ice cream. Overall, not a bad experience, but I don't think worth the price. Would maaaaybe come again but just for the regular bbq. read more

My step step sister had actually recommended the restaurant that the Wagyu Factory replaced but since they had similar concepts I decided that we would still check them out. It looks like you can actually place your name in queue to be sat so I would definitely suggest that before making your way over. We opted to do the Ultimate A5 menu which was $75.99 a person, it comes with A5 Wagyu as well as the other options from the buffet and hot pot. The other tiers are a lot more affordable and still include wagyu you can grab at the buffet line. Our server was Heddy, he was super friendly and really knowledgeable, we had some questions with regards to the tiers and he was really nice by giving us some additional details. He had mentioned the "Chubby Club" but because we were visiting from San Diego and since we don't have any other locations we had to decline. Since we chose the Ultimate A5 we ordered the more premium cuts on the tablet from our table along with some fried pieces, then we walked to the buffet to grab some extra goodies. For drinks I grabbed the passion fruit tea, they do have milk tea and Pepsi drinks, they still had Dr.Pepper when I went. For hot food, they had egg tarts, wagyu sliders and cheese corn, they also had a dumpling station and a little station that gave you an option for curry rice, kimchi pork bowl, wagyu bowl and kungpao chicken rice bowls. There are so many options to choose from and we definitely took advantage. My favorite cut was the A5 Chuck Eye and brisket, my husband used the brisket in his wagyu bowl and he said he still thinks about it. I wish I liked hot pot, because with our tier we could have had that option. They had their own area for ingredients for hot pot. One of my fav bbq spots! Their value proposition is just too good, the price for the quality of the meat, appetizers, desserts, drinks, etc all for $50 and AYCE. Their wait time sometimes is pretty crazy so just come early or off time. Every time I come here the servers are really well trained and attentive. This time I came here I had Renee and my period came and she was really sweet to go to her car to get me the spare tampon she had. She went the extra mile which I really appreciated. Typically I dont go to AYCE places because I never think the meat quality will be as good but wagyu factory has changed my mind!! Currently they don't have reservations so you have to come and join the waitlist and wait around in person. It's in the market so you can get some grocery shopping done while you wait :) On a Saturday night at 6pm I think we were around 40th in line and it took about 1.5hours to get seated! Personally I think the regular bbq option is super worth it - the meat quality in the self serve bar is already really good. They have some interesting cuts like beef tongue, wagyu karubi, etc. we did upgrade to the top tier wagyu option but those cuts ended up being just a little too fatty for me to ea too much of! I love that they have a salad bar (with a lot of fresh side options like kimchi, bean sprouts, seaweed salad), and cooked apps/sides (the fried oysters are delish) to enhance the experience. I usually prefer non-marinated meats and they do a good job with their marinades of not making it too sweet or overpoweringly saucey. The milk tea / calpico bar is also a really fun addition. They did have a soft serve machine and other desserts but those were just ok for me and not the highlight. It's very clean inside and service was great! read more

Was excited to try this spot because of their buffet bar and extensive menu. We waited almost two hours for be seated, it is very busy, but for AYCE I can understand. You can put down your name and walk around the grocery store nearby. When we got seated, they did a good job explaining the menu and how to order on their tablet. They also have subscription but that's only if you go often, I don't think I recommend. You would need to try the food first before you do any subscription to their membership. You can do only barbecue but we opted for Shabu and Japanese BBQ. This cost a few more dollars per person. The meat is offered at the buffet bar, the iPad menu is only for appetizers and sauces. Their buffet bar offer a good variety of meat, vegetables, dumplings, and drinks. I love their milk tea, their meat is good but not very seasoned which I understand it's different from KBBQ. For shabu, there are different meatballs and fish balls to choose from. You can order some other items for your shabu on the iPad. There wasn't a lot of dessert options but I do like their egg tarts. Also, the ice cream machine broke, bummer. The Shabu pot is so small it's hard to put food in there, it is placed in a weird pot. The BBQ grill gets hot way too quickly, our meat keeps getting burnt. They do not offer metal spoon to eat our shabu with, how do I drink the broth with a plastic spoon? That is not safe. This chill restaurant with fantastic service is a must try. To start, the server Wyatt guided through the meal and was attentive. There is Shabu Shabu and grill available with a premium A5 upgrade. There is a self serve station for all meats for both options as well as come other items. You can also order as many appetizers as you want. All the meats were well cut and flavorful. Overall a great lunch and will be back for dinner soon. read more

The meats here are really good and if you splurge for the A5 menu, the wagyu is super good! They have 3 menu options: BBQ - $49.99 BBQ & Shabu - $55.99 Ultimate A5 (includes 5 extra A5 cuts) - $75.99 The self service area is buffet style and you can grab as much meat + veggies as you want. They also have dim sum items, rice bowl options, and wagyu sliders which are super good! On top of that, they have milk tea that's all self service too and was pretty solid!
