Overall very good experience. FYI, all the seats were labeled as "Premium Seating," so you still have to stand in line for the check in. The luau was held on a tiled outdoor area. You get your table assignment when you check in and sit with strangers but luckily we were seated with a nice family. You have your family photo taken upon check in. We ended up buying 3 photos and got the rest as digital copies. The dinner was delicious! The desserts were ok. The alcohol and POG were plentiful! The show was very entertaining! The MC/narrator/coconut husker did an excellent job! So funny! Again, at the end of the evening, our family had a great time. read more

Open bar seems great until a guy at our table was so drunk he kept trying to touch (and smell) me. He tried eating off my plate and holding my husbands hand. We asked to move. They could only move us to the very back (we had front row seats for our honeymoon). We ended up leaving less than half way through and I asked to be refunded and shared some of the verbal (very sexual) things drunk guy did and said to me and they apologized via email but then ghosted me and didn't refund the $500 it costed us to go or even invite us back another night. Disappointed in the Westin as usually they are a great business to work with. Go to a different luau on the island with better customer service. read more

The event was good. The food had many choices and well organized. Found the dancing part was too long and really enjoyed the fire entertainment part at the end. Quite expensive but you cannot go to a Maui without doing a Luau. There are many around look up your choices read more

We've been to a number of luaus on different islands, but I've decided this was my favorite. Not the biggest, not the flashiest, but thoroughly entertaining. The food was some of the best we've had at a luau, especially the pork. Our vegetarian adult kids had plenty to eat also and loved it. The staff were friendly and engaging. There was never a dull moment from the moment we checked in until we left. Great crafts to look at, drinks were available and the kids' buffet was open early, dismissed by table for group photos, nice folks at our table to visit with. They invited people to come up and learn the hukilau (I was hoping they would) and our 2-year-old granddaughter had a blast doing that. She was also thoroughly enthralled throughout the entire show. We did pay for premium so our view was great. What I'd say I like the most is that it seemed more intimate than some giant luaus. There were only 7-8 dancers that did all of the dances and a small but wonderful band. The fire dancing segment was amazing and rivaled much larger performances. After the show, some of the dancers were interacting with the guests and my granddaughter was thrilled to have her picture taken with "Maui." read more

We loved the show! The dances kept us all entertained and the fire part was so cool. The guy who climbs the tree was my 3 year olds favorite part. Our family of 4, two adults, a 3.5 and a 1.5 year old, were full after the entire dinner. There was so much food leftover. We really enjoyed the fish and the appetizers. Only reason for the 4 star rating is because the seating is not so great for people who get stuck behind a pillar and can't see the entire stage. Make sure you try and book as early as possible or pay the extra for the vip seating. read more

I paid over $300 for the Luau for myself & my spouse & we both were highly disappointed in the food and drinking options. The entertainment was great, but for the price we paid we expected to eat well while watching the show. The drink options were limited, & the drinks they did have were cheap and watered down. The food menu mentioned items that weren't available when we went thru the line. Not to mention, only a few items out of the different options were good. The only thing I found good to eat was the chicken and salad. Even the deserts were disgusting. If you were considering this luau, DONT!!!! Save your money & spend it elsewhere. read more

To start, the event is held at the Westin yet you cannot park at the Westin if you are not staying. They won't even let you purchase valet or parking if you are not a guest even though you have paid as much for the luau. They direct you to the Whaler's Mall parking. It's full nearly always and continued that reputation tonight. They direct you to the Sheraton for the far away and most expensive parking that they won't validate. The woman at the front was angry that we entered through the beach entrance and frowned with a negative tone telling us to get to the back of the line. The food was buffet style and you were allowed to return as often as needed. However, the food was only okay. The dish you hoped would be amazing, the pulled pork, was dry. The bread roll and kids pizza was the most impressive food. Dessert did not disappoint, for the most part. You can drink as much as you want of beer, wine, and premade cocktails like mai tai with juices like POG for the kids. The MC can be funny, but his voice is hoarse and weak, mixed with the accent, making it difficult to hear many words and jokes. The second star is for the entertainers such as the tree climber and fire dancers who put on an impressive performance. Given that is was around $120 per person for "general admission" I was not impressed overall. read more

The food was Basically local favorites that has been Americanized. I guess when I think of luau , I think about a roasted pig that's been buried on the beach and cooked for multiple hours. This was a great luau!! It was nice that we could eat during the show. Other luaus I have been to have you eat first and then have the "show" afterwards. The food was great; they had all the authentic Hawaiian foods. The main announcer was REALLY hard to understand, unfortunately. I walked into this luau getting exactly what I expected - mediocre buffet food and a ​decent show. The price of the luau is high but it didn't surprise​ me because everything at the Westin was overpriced. The luau isn't traditional - it's very commercialized​​ but still entertaining. The performers were amazing - kudos to the one male dancer with abs visible​ from space. There's hula dancers, fire tricks, ​jokes and audience interactions. We had ​pretty good seats (arrive at least 30 minutes early for the ​line-up) but pillars obstructed other tables. Oh be aware, you will be seated with strangers. They offer photographs to be taken with your family in leis. I'm not sure why they don't include a performer in the photos. There is no organization with picking up the prints - they need to work on this. $25 for one 5x7 photo or $60 for three - you also get the digital files e-mailed to you. The biggest let down is the food. It's not bad but it's just not special. Some of the dishes were bland. The desserts were the best part of the meal but how can you mess that up? Our server was awesome. He was very attentive and the drinks were pretty good. I think I had like six drinks - so I definitely got my money's ​worth. I was bummed they didn't serve tequila though. My boyfriend and I attended this luau because we decided to go to one last minute and it was the only one that was not sold out. It was surprisingly the best luau we have attended so far! It seems really underrated considering the reviews I have read. We got the regular tickets since premium seats were sold out. We just arrived an hour early and were one of the first ones in line. We got in my opinion the best seats! Right in the middle with no direct sunlight and close enough that we realized we didn't even need premium seating to get a good view! They also have round tables which I do prefer over the long tables. They give you a great photo opportunity when you get in with a professional photographer. They give you real flower leis to wear for the photo. Although you do have to pay for the photo if you like it during the intermission. $25. But totally worth it, we bought it because it turned out better than the ones on our phones. They had a good camera and lighting. The show was really entertaining and funny. The host was a natural to make people laugh. He includes the audience to participate which made it funnier. The dancers were also absolutely talented! Although, the fire show has to be the show stopper, it was super impressive compared to others we've seen! Open bar but they serve the drinks to you! I felt like a queen. Our waitress was amazing. She would offer us a drink almost every 20 min lol. Their Mai Tai's were delicious. Drinks aren't that strong but it didn't matter because they would serve you another right away anyway. The food is buffet style. I loved their pork especially it was really flavorful. They had taro which was really good. Bbq chicken and fish. Lots of variety. The only cons is that they do not have the under ground pig and the dessert was not as great as the dinner. Advice for parking: Park in the Whaler's village parking a couple blocks from the Westin Hotel. You can validate it when you buy something from Whaler's village. After the show, just go to a ABC store to get a souvenir and show the receipt. read more

Awesome Luau!! Great food selection - everything was tasty! Wait staff very attentive - getting us drink refills quickly. You get a fresh flower lei and a mai tai the minute you walk in. Show was great with a good variety of Hawaiian history and then the very entertaining fire portion of the show. This was our first luau and we're so excited about it and after paying over $800 for 4 people at Ohana seating expected an outstanding event. We lined up about 45 minutes before they opened so we could get right behind the premium seats. Our seats were fine but the sun hurt our eyes until it went down. The performers were impressive and the flame throwing was exciting. The food was terribly disappointing. For a Westin resort and being on this beautiful island with pig and fish readily available we expected a premium meal. There was no presentation of an entire pig roast just shredded pork which was good. However the fish was dry and over cooked, the poke ahi tuna was just OK, everything else was just OK. I could've made a better meal myself (I am not a chef). Our server Michael was very attentive. Desserts were dry and tasteless. Would not recommend given the expense and results. read more

The Wailele Luau was an amazing experience!!! All 10 members of our family enjoyed every part of this Luau. This was our 5th time at a Hawaiian Luau (Maui & Kauai) but this one far surpassed all others!! The food was great! The performance was entertaining! The customer service was amazing!! We had the best server ever!! Lorraine was our server for the night and she was wonderful! She was sweet, funny, and took care of everyone! She made our night extra special!!! My family loves luaus so we were very excited after reading reviews of the Wailele Luau. My wife went out of her way to make sure we had a $20 bill to tip our server. Unfortunately, there was NO service to tip. Our "Server" came by long after we were set and took drink orders that she never brought. I had to hunt her down to get the children's meals for the table. I remember thinking it was humorous when she informed us it was last call, after we'd spent the entire evening getting our own drinks from the bar. I should have known it wasn't a serious Luau when they set up a card table beside our table and sat two more guests there. There were three overpriced vendors and NO cultural exhibits. The food was okay, at best with deserts that belonged at a cheap Chinese buffet. The music was good and the few dancers were fine, but the overall experience was awful. The only saving grace was the fiery finale, but it was too little too late. I, of course, turned Karen and informed the Luau of my displeasure, but they already had my money and didn't see fit to respond. I won't advertise other Luau's in this review, but if you do your homework you can find an excellent one down the street. read more

My family of 5 spent $1000 for the WORST show on the island. If I could give negative stars I would. We come to Maui often and have been to several shows, so we know there are really good ones on the island. 1st, if you don't pay vip price you are going to stand in line for a loooooong time while you watch the vip people enter, get drinks, take pics, shop the vendor tables. Our reservation for the luau said, doors open and seating at 5:30. We were seated 40 min later. Then waited, waited, waited for a show to start.... but it seemed like they wanted people to really vendor shop and take pics for a VERY long time. Then we ate.... the whole table agreed it was the worst fish anyone had ever had and it wasn't even edible. The rest of the food was just so so nothing great, and desert was ity bitty squares of mush that wS supposedly cake. Then the "show"...... omg are you kidding me, you can see better show at the mall for free!!!! The entire "show" lasted maybe 15 min. Mind you seating was supposedly at 5:30 then everything listed to 8pm and we only got a 15 min show. DANCERS were not in sync, bad dancing, gross costumes. I doubt a traditional luau had women wearing satin dresses and metallic tinsel sorts. The men.... looked like server's that were asked to take off shirt and join the show, they were dicing in black suit pants. It was bad, Everything start to finish and I will never reccomend this place. My family saved up $1000 to come to this, it mKes me sick to think we spent this hard earned money on this garbage. There are many very good show on Maui, we have been to several....I urge you to spend your money on one of the good ones! Everyone who reached on time has to wait in line for one and half hour to get entry. The food options were horrible too with no flavor and stale dessert. Not the stage.. we had to turn necks completely sideways to see the stairs where performers enter the stage. Could only see the last performer in line. Walked out to the beach and left. This was the only luau we could find with tickets left at the last minute. It was right next door to our resort which was perfect we just took the shuttle on over. The website said doors would open at 5:30 but we were able to be seated a little after 5 which we appreciated because standing in line in the sun was going to be unbearable. The food is brought to you by course, family style. We are pretty picky eaters but decided to try everything since it was all paid for anyway. We were not able to eat everything, there was so much food! The chef gave us a special cake since we were celebrating our honeymoon. A photographer is there to take your photo, and you can purchase one for $20 or all three for $50. They also email you the digital photo(s). The show was great! Very beautiful to watch. When booking your tickets online, make sure to mention any food allergies you may have, and note if you are celebrating a special occasion. read more
