My only issue was that I ordered a triple latte and for some reason they added a syrup (perhaps vanilla). Wake N Bake Donuts have wonderful donuts! They are the fancy, one-of-a-kind donuts. When my boyfriend and I went, the guy was very friendly. He told us all of the specials of the day. All of the donuts are made fresh daily. He gave us plenty of time to order, since it was my boyfriend's first time there. In the end, we ended up getting a Reece's cup donut and a red velvet donut. My boyfriend also ordered a latte. The latte was super hot and fresh. Our donuts was amazing. Seriously. They are huge, so you really only need one. I ate half the Reece's one, which had the perfect hint of peanut butter, and then half of red velvet, which was so soft and moist. These are the "fancy donuts" as one of the locals told us. They were fancy compared to one of their popular donut shops in Carolina Beach. We ordered a dozen donuts, 6 glazed, 2 maple bacon , 1 fruit loops, 1 fruity pebbles, 1 strawberry cheesecake and 1 creme brulee. We also ordered their humongous apple fritter and cherry pie fritter. Also tried their custard filled croissants. All were delicious! My favorite was the Creme Brûlée donut. Loved the Bavarian cream inside the donut. It took us 3 days to finish all of them since we ordered so much. The donuts were on the expensive side but worth the money. So if your willing to splurge on these "fancy donuts," I would recommend it. They're worth their price. I recommend this donut shop. read more

So even in the off season 10:30 is too late on a Saturday morning to go for a full selection. We figured as long as we got there in the morning choices would be good. My wife's two first choices were sold out. We got the Carolina Sand (gluten free), Peach Cobbler, Loopy Morning (like another review stated the fruit loops were a little stale), Couch Potato (chocolate icing was awesome!!), and the PB Get Busy and Snicker Bomb which were both VERY rich! My wife thinks our choices were just too weird, but in my opinion, if you're there in season, I prefer Brits. read more

They were still frying fresh donuts while we were at the counter so I expected them to be fresh. Wrong! The donuts were dry and the toppings were too sweet. The donuts were fantastic!! I admit, I only had one (Boston cream), but my boyfriend ate an entire bag (Boston cream, original glazed and chocolate frosted) and he said they were amazing! We decided to go for a drive on Saturday and enjoy the beautiful day with our sassy Labrador. My boyfriend is a donut aficionado, and we decided to stop here on our way to Kure Beach. Loved the flavor combinations here! I'm always on the lookout for fun and creative donut shops and Wake N Bake did not disappoint. The dough has a nice light texture without being oily or greasy. I've tried most of the donuts and Maui Wauie has to be my favorite as well as Creme Brûlée Creeper and Strawberry Cheesecake. The thing I struggle with most dessert places is that they are often too sweet and too rich. Wake N Bake has a nice balance to all of their donuts that has me wanting to eat more. They're not too sweet and really hits those cravings when you want something sweet. This place is so fun and innovative, I wish there were more donut shops like this other than in Carolina Beach!
