Have not been to Walloon's in a while. We opened the store at 11:00 today and were seated at a round table along the banquette on the northeast side facing the bar. A very nice table for enjoying this delightful bistro type venue here. Anne had, as usual, the amazing redfish dish and I the trout. Both today were cooked to absolute perfection. The broiled trout almandine was up there in the best ever stratosphere. Moist, flaky flesh, super crispy skin, perfect lemon and butter sauce. The redfish was likewise perfectly cooked as were the shrimp and mussels. That sauce is just nuts! So enjoyed our luncheon today.

The service was great. Our server Carrie was amazing. Very attentive. Good energy. All of the food was scrumptious. Steak frites, braised short ribs, burger all spot on. The bbq shrimp had a unique flavor. Fried calamari was cooked to perfection. The seafood tower had a dozen oysters, shrimp. Tuna crudo and a seafood dip. The redfish dish came with shrimp and mussels. The broth was so tasty. The lobster roll was so good. Plenty of lobster and well seasoned. Seafood mac and cheese had a creamy sauce. We had peanut butter cheesecake, bread pudding , chocolate mousse, and the brownie sundae. They were all yummy. The drinks were all delicious. Nothing disappointed us. The restaurant had a good vibe. Perfect lighting and plenty of seating. They validate parking so it is not hard to get a parking spot. Will definitely be back.

I've driven and walked by this place a couple of times without giving a second thought. With Fort Worth Burger Week, I'm grateful I found an excuse to come and visit - this was my third and final stop for this burgerful adventure. The burger that was being offered was the "Walloon's Burger". It doesn't seem to be a limited time offering like the other spots I visited this week. Though there's nothing wrong with that. I'd found out soon. The burger is simple. Thick beef patty with American cheese and a dijonnaise sauce with red onion on a toasted sesame seed bun. It may not sound as wild or unique at first compared to some of the other burgers offered by other restaurants, but the burger knocked my socks off. The beef patty was juicy and packed with flavor. A simple burger executed at a high level. It was filling and went incredibly well with the fries that I got with it. Although my order was a quick pick up, I do want to say that the inside of the restaurants is absolutely beautiful. It sets the mood well with just the right amount of lighting. I didn't know prior but this place is a refurbished bank. Apparently you could reserve to eat in one of the vaults. I hope to come back one day, especially if there's a special occassion I'm looking to celebrate.

We celebrated my wife's birthday at Walloon's and had a fantastic dining experience. We had a party of 12 and our server took really good care of us. We started off with some appetizers- seafood mac n cheese, calamari, and oysters. I did not partake in the oysters this time but all my friends said they were good. The seafood mac n cheese was great; it was creamy and they didn't skimp on the amount of lobster and crab. It's listed as an entree and for me it would be on the smaller portion size, but for an appetizer it was great. The calamari was great. You could smell how fresh it was and the batter was light and crispy and perfectly seasoned. It was served with a spicy remoulade and some other kind of red cocktail sauce. A great starter! For my meal I had the lobster roll which was knock your socks off good. Good sized portions of lobster inside a homemade roll and that didn't fall apart as I attempted to get my mouth around it. I substituted fries for the chips and felt really good about that choice. My wife ordered the steak frites cooked medium and thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well. This place is an old bank building so it has a vault room that you can reserve for a party of 4. It has kind of the "old fashioned" vibe inside and their craft cocktail menu reflects that. This is a good spot for seafood in Fort Worth.

Outstanding experience! SERVERS are perfectly attentive & make great menu recommendations. MENU is delectable "southern comfort, coastal style" so think fish & seafood (incl. fresh oysters) but also steak, burgers, salads, sandwiches. BONUSES - full bar & creative bartenders. DECOR is a former historic bank bldg that is now a rich balance of leather, wood, & white/black tile. LOCATION - Magnolia @ Hemphill is just minutes from downtown, & Walloon's validates the adjacent parking garage. TIPS: Trout Almandine is best ever eaten (no kidding). Enjoy!

Walloon's is a really beautiful restaurant that reminds me of the east coast where I grew up. The interior is really moody and beautiful, so I think it would be a great date night spot. We went for brunch and I was a little disappointed by the menu selection. There were not a ton of options, particularly for vegetarians or those who don't like seafood. I get that this is a seafood restaurant, but it would be nice to see a few more vegetarian options beyond pancakes. The french onion dip was my favorite thing I've eaten in a while! I'd go back just to get that again. The eggs and bacon brunch meal was not very good for the price. Everything was dry, so I wouldn't reorder that. Our server was really polite, but he did not check up on us often. Water refills were slow and we had to get up and ask for our waiter to be sent over with the check because he wasn't coming back and we had theatre tickets. I'd give Walloon's another shot as I think there's a lot of promise there! It is really a beautiful place.

My husband and I went here for lunch and it was a beautiful restaurant that felt upscale but also relaxed. We tried the raw oysters and redfish beignets for apps, the oysters were very fresh and those beignets are amazing! I got the lobster roll with fries and omg it was so good! Service from heather was amazing as well - she was very knowledgeable and attentive. Would recommend!

Service was amazing from when we walked in the door we were greeted and sat right away. We did have reservations and sat in the perfect spot with the view of restaurant. The server was very educated about the items and had great recommendations. The food was amazing especially the fries, they were the perfect texture and flavor. We devoured our dessert and will definitely be back for more.

Wow what a great meal, night and service from Carrie. As a joke I put a request for my menu to be presented as a Haiku poem. I got it!!!!! lol it was a joke but they came through. Excellent drinks, amazing food and a great atmosphere. You have to eat here

Came by when my bestie was in town. The inside is absolutely gorgeous. Our server was helpful and full of recommendations for us to try. Can't wait to come back for oysters and their Mardi Gras event. The food was so delicious and we loved everything we got.

Met up with a close friend for dinner/HH and was so glad we did. I was wowed by the classy and comforting atmosphere. The menu had a good variety of offerings from appetizers to entrees. We also enjoyed the happy house cocktails. My vodka based gin martini was refreshing and well made. The margarita was underwhelming in terms of flavor. Love the very tasty salmon based fish dip with sourdough bread (generous portions). The hamburger was moist and so delicious with a wonderful flavor. My friend loved her oyster offerings: the presentation was spot on. Her Old Fashioned was also a hit in terms of flavor. The server was very attentive and helpful when I asked questions about menu items. I recommend Walloon's to everyone & so happy I've found a new gem to look forward to visiting.

Walloon's is situated on the corner off a Magnolia business strip with parking in the garage nearby - validated by the restaurant if dining in! The location is very spacious and clean. The drinks were tasty! The crab dip was delicious but we had to order extra bread since it was a decent portion. I ordered the mussels which was also a good portion but it needed something else with the broth flavor (either additional herbs or seasoning). My friend's lobster mac & cheese was pretty flavorful and came out gooey (not clumsy and dry) and my other friend's salmon dish looked amazing (she said it was delicious too!) Service was pretty good and our waiter was informative. Look forward to coming back and maybe splitting a bunch of the appetizers to try next time!

It's been a while since I was there and it looks like their cocktail menu rotates but the two that are still on the menu as I write this review are the Yuzu Lemon Drop and the Cucumber Martini If you're comfortable with who you're dining with, get the grilled artichokes as a starter. When I say these were grilled to perfection.. my goodness!! We split the brussels sprout salad and removed the chicken. I don't remember there being chopped egg in the salad like the menu states but the brussels sprout leaves, manchego and craisins were a great combination! I wish I would have wrote this review earlier because our main course was the special of the evening. I believe it was a miso glazed cod with lump crab. Or maybe it was a lemon butter sauce. Ahh well whatever it was it was incredible and we asked Jordyn for more sauce because it was that good. We finished the evening with a slice of yellow cake with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream (that also isn't on the current menu ) and we were pleasantly surprised!!

We do appreciate that there are alternative options offered not within the menu we had set, I think someone mentioned there was an alfredo & maybe another fish such as salmon? I can't remember all the reasons why we asked but I know one reason was because they said they could not cater to the individual steak preferences in large groups, made sense in an efficiency way when they explained it. What they didn't tell us after some chose not order steak for that very reason, was that after anyone who ordered steak & cut into it, they could back to cook it longer based on each individual's preference. I'm allergic to shrimp, I ordered the steak with vegetables. I did inform the waiter that I had a shrimp allergy, he was gracious & asked me a few questions to help better address my food preparation. A few minutes later another staff member, maybe a manager, comes in & thanks us for choosing there restaurant. Then he asks who has the allergy & asks the same questions the waiter asked me. It just put me on the spotlight that I (nor several of my coworkers) felt was necessary. It wasn't embarrassing but more annoying seeing how our waiter had been thorough, or come to me one on one just to reconfirm if needed. I felt bad for my coworkers because they now had genuine concern I might be exposed to something since many had shrimp dishes. I will say that I did enjoy the steak & asparagus. Dessert was delicious, a great creme brulee & the cheesecake slices were generous! Also, there were larger amounts of time between when the first person got their salad or soup to when the last person received theirs, same situation with the entrées. In both phases they basically asked who was missing what & then asked what they had. Refills & drinks, the same. Maybe they were short handed but if they were, we wished they would've communicated that so we could anticipate any timing issues. Aside from the allergy thing, the staff tending to us were very polite. Maybe it's more of a training issue higher up because they seemed to be doing their best, but right now it's a miss at this location.

The pollo Frito was delicious, the chicken was seasoned well and maintained crunch even within the biscuit. Duck fat potatoes were also good but were even better after adding some salt. The brisket benny was okay, the texture of the brisket was very odd and didn't really hold up to the egg. Although the okra had a great flavor the batter was a bit too thick which made it chewy.
