Walmart Why Bother is what my mother and I affectionally call this waste of space. Because it is the closest Walmart we find ourselves here often but we are always met with disappointment. Las week we went to make a return and we were informed that the product had to be returned to a "Walmart Supercenter" aka a legit Walmart. So apparently this yelp name needs to be changed to just "Walmart" because apparently that means something different than "Walmart Supercenter." Still wondering why we call it the Why Bother of Walmarts? Well bring your list of all the things you need and take a trip to this store. zero stars for this location. We had someone following me and my cousin for 10 mins telling us to put masks on due to covid . At first we didn't think he worked there then had another walmart employee come up to us ( completely fine ) but let me explain why we didn't think he worked there for one he had absolutely no name tag of any sort and continued to follow us around then brings another employee when we put on masks on and kicks us out ?? did not state anything about it being a county ordinance of any sort did not give us time just kicked us out . you would assume the people at the doors would tell you you can't come in with no mask on but they did not also he said there were signs all over the doors ??? the doors are open from people walking in and out I did not once see a sign anywhere ! manager is a complete ass who did not stay 6 feet from us but bitches at us for asking us once to put on a mask which we did then kicks us out ?? well guys apparently this walmart thinks they are whole foods now ! i would find another location to go to. read more

This Wal-Mart is small, and hit-and-miss on certain items, but it's close to home and I can always get in and out quick if I just need toilet paper, cat litter, or shampoo. My main reason for going here is the pharmacy. I have 2 prescriptions; one I get for $4 and the other free through insurance. Most, if not all, generic prescriptions at Wal-Mart are $4. Here's the thing though - nearly all Wal-Mart's take at least an hour to fill your Rx, but not this one! 20 minutes tops, and you usually don't even have to wait that long. The store is small, but it is clean. It feels pretty disorganized, but I think that's because it's a whole Walmart crammed into a small space. It wouldn't be my first choice to shop, but it really isn't bad (I've shopped at the Whitestone Blvd Walmart from heaven where the staff is perfect and the store is perfect, so my Walmart standards have gone up). The staff was friendly enough. I returned an unworn bra with the tags unattached, but otherwise intact. The lady warned me that they don't usually take bras if the tag has been removed, and something about them not being able to reattach the tags, which sounds fishy since it's not a big deal to put tags back on, so I do believe that lends more credence to the reviews that said they couldn't return things for various crazy reasons (which I originally thought there must be more to the story because Walmart takes everything back, but makes sense now). In my case she went ahead and gave me my money back, but something good to be aware of. One thing that did catch my attention on the way out was the security guard checking receipts and purchases. The photo center here sucks!!! There is never anyone at the photo counter and the employee couldn't find my photos. When I came back the next day, they found them but didn't know how to ring them up properly because he was used to doing customer service not photocenter. He also couldn't count and wouldn't listen when I told him what the price was supposed to be. Never getting photos here again!! read more

Not your Average Wal-Mart - This Wal-Mart is the BEST ! The people who work here are very helpful, cheerful and on several occasions, have gone out of their way to help me. What happens when you take a company which makes BILLIONS in profit each year and try to place a ship-to-store order?!? An order status which says 'Delivered on Thursday', a store which says "We don't have it" on Friday and a 1-800 customer service agent who says, "The store can't find your order, sir" on Saturday. As mentioned, after being transferred 6x from the operator to various departments (and getting an answer once), the phone rep and I were told that the store had no idea where my order was. Long story short, the agent said she would cancel the old order and place a new one, but this time Walmart would make sure it got there and was scanned-in correctly (pause for laughter). Walmart didn't offer any credits or such to my account, even though they missed their estimated deadline and I now will need to wait 7-10 business days to get the order I placed last week. I gave Walmart 2 stars since when I go there to shop in-person, it's usually not bad. Update: Store called me and said the item is at the store. Gave an extra star since apparently won't have to wait 7-10 more days. However, I came to the store and the Customer Service/Pickup line resembled something at the DMV. read more

I really enjoyed shopping here. The area feels really safe and it's one of the nicest Walmarts I have been to. The store is really clean and looks modern and a little different in the front. There is only one entrance but it's a smaller store so it works. I would recommend this location to travelers because it's easy to get to and had nice, normal shoppers. read more

I like this Walmart, reminds me of my childhood when Walmarts were smaller, there is a certain je ne sais quoi that is comforting about this smaller and cozier Walmart. i wish I could say the worst thing about this Walmart is that it closes at 1 AM. the neighborhood association fought hard to keep walmart outta here. went to court, delayed the opening. finally settled for lame AF hours. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what time of day you shop there. The customer service is nonexistent. The sales people that do try to help, have no clue what they're doing. doesn't really matter. This store is like the overflow bin for the other Walmart stores. Goods are pretty much all over the place. It's hard to find anything honestly. Their stock is just randomly thrown on a shelf or hanging on a rounder. There is no flow at all. It's comparable to a garage sale. Another drawback to shopping at this Walmart, is when you roll up to the checkout, they get grumpy. I get not wanting to work, but please stop rolling your eyes at me as if I'm interrupting. Some reasons people shop at Walmart: the convenience - 24/7, the sales associates' willingness to help, their variety of options, and the basic ease of shopping. Last I went here, it was clean and the service was great. I bought a space heater and the employees were extremely helpful in selecting a space heater and describing their own experiences using the products in different size spaces. They also made sure I had seen the two displays in other parts of the store to get the best price. Someone even took my purchase to the counter for me while I browsed for surge protectors. read more

This Walmart is crazy different from all the walmart's I've been in! It's a lot smaller than any I have been too. There is also no plastic bags (this is not a complaint, very good idea) but when u buy a lot of groceries it makes things tougher. The first time I wad thier searching for a flash drive before I had to go to the front to ask for help. The staff is very unhelpful and rude. I am always amazed at the drama and chaos of these store employees. They are all talking, yelling, unavailable to help because they are so tied up with talking to each other. Does this store have a manager? Someone from corporate needs to come and see how this place is being run! All in all...eveyone at some point in time has been to a Walmart and has had every type of experience there from good service to strange encounters. The only complaint I have with Walmart, generally, aside from just feeling dirty whenever I go into a store that exploits their employees with such ambivolence, is that no one in the electric department ever has any idea what they are there for. They have zero knowledge of the products, they do not know where things in their own department are located, and they cant even use the computers at the help desks right...much less educate the clients on the inventory. I went into Walmart on Friday to buy some pet supplies for my dogs. No one greeted me at all. I was not familiar with this Walmart and wandered around the store walking past several employees. No one offered to help me at all. One girl I asked for help was snippy to me. I think she was having a bad day. Also. they were having a staff meeting in the produce section. About 12 employees were leaning right OVER the apples and oranges.I don't think that is very sanitary. Couldn't they find a table to have their meeting? This area of the city fought Wal-Mart tooth & nail on this location, restricting it severely. While we are not big fans of Wal-Mart, this one is one of the better ones in Austin. The Employees at this particular location are the friendliest we've encountered in any big-box chain in years, and this is something we're seeing consistently over the years here. We'll be among the first to criticize Wal-Mart as a whole, but this one bucks the trend of negative reviews of large Corporate Chain stores. If this entire review were solely dedicated to the employees at this particular location, it would easily get 5 stars, for our part. We give it 3 stars because of it's lack of selection compared to many other stores forces us to frequently go elsewhere to get what we need. read more

Seriously, worst experience ever! This is why I hate going to Walmart because they can't seem to hire people with decent customer service skills, nor is there any training!! All I wanted was to buy a freaking gift card. There were no cashiers except for this loud, and extremely rude girl! I shop at Walmart, big woop, want to fight about it? Unlike some of the other Walmart locations in town, the parking lot is not a horrible death trap. The greeters are either creepy or appear to be drunk. Most of the employees in the store seem to be in their own world and seem to have little to no desire to help you out in any way. That being said, for odds and ends and household items Walmart is the cheapest option in the general vicinity and that in itself makes me feel slightly better about not having a soul. read more

HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!!! The store was the worst looking Walmart I have ever been in, very trashy. Horrible for a Walmart let alone a "SuperWalmart". My wife was looking for a UT shirt for our daughter. She asked a worker in woman's wear if they had any shirts and the girl acted like she didn't understand english or even what a shirt was. We found them on our own 2 aisles away. We then wanted to purchase a bottle of wine. When we got to the checkout the gal there carded me (that's fine as I was making an alcohol purchase). She then asks if my wife and I are together, which I said yes, and then wants to also card my wife (who isn't making a purchase)! Mind you we don't look at all "under 21" in fact we have a daughter who is in her mid 20's!!! The cashier tells me some BS about TABC requiring them to ID EVERYONE who is shopping with you, not just the person purchasing the alcohol. I have NEVER heard that one before. I then ask, if I have a young child with me do they have to ID them too??? Which she responds "NO, we can tell". She says she can call a manager over if I want to talk to them about the policy, which I told her sure! Another girl comes over, I guess the manager, and says basically the same BS. I said fine and walked out of the store leaving all my purchases behind (sure glad I didn't pay for anything!!!) I then went to another SuperWalmart in town and purchased the same bottle of wine with no hassle at all. In fact the cashier never even carded me (or my wife). Ridiculous!!! They ask for ID from anyone that's with you if you are purchasing beer or wine. They state it's a "Walmart policy". But funny that this is the first Walmart that's ever attempted to enforce it. Oh and they pick and choose when and who they enforce it on. Been there before to purchase wine and it didn't happen. I have been shopping at this WalMart since they opened. It is poorly managed, poorly stocked, and has the worst customer service I have ever seen. Many times I have found employees having personal conversations on their cell phones and/or texting, making it impossible to get help. If you do get their attention, they rarely know the answer. I have even spoke with the manager and asked for something to be stocked to no avail. I love having the store, just wish it was a better shopping experience. read more

If I could give a negative star rating I would. I have never had noticable blaten disregard for customer service but this walmart has exactly that. I needed help with purchasing a new phone. In the hour I tried patiently to speak to someone I walked to customer service and back to electronics multiple times looking for anyones help. I am very disappointed with a lazy cashier employee named NIKITA (African woman wearing the yellow vest). She insist customers do her job as a cashier, and refused to help other customers as well. I repeatedly ask her to cancel the item I don't want and she REPLIED "NO, YOU DO IT" for 5 times! I MEAN 5 times "NO, YOU WORK THE CASHIER". WOW.... Walmart is crazy for placing her as a manager! Also, I have witness Nikita saying NO to assisting a customer and expects the customer to work as a cashier. She is extremely lazy and unprofessional, the store manager needs to immediately demote her to a regular employee and not a cashier since she can't provide customer satisfaction. This Walmart has me cussing every time I go in(or leave rather), ever since it opened. A waste of space. And to think of all the controversy before it was built. The pharmacy people are incompetant. I would order a medication refill then be told it was ready. I'd drive over there and be told my Dr. is out of state and could not be reached(no refill). I'd call my Dr's office and he's right there! I actually got into heated arguments with these fools till I switched to another pharmacy. It was as if they were toying with me deliberately, I would get a different story from every different person I called. I threw my arms up in exhasperation never to use their pharmacy again. As far as the rest of the store, one morning my girlfreind and I were looking in the clothing for her. A guy with a Walmart badge that said Xavier was sitting in a chair looking useless. As I walked right in front of him I said "I can't find it honey." You know what he did rather than ask what I was looking for? He yawned. Every time I go there I can't find what I want. Asking is pointless. I wait 20 minutes while some fool bangs around in the back just to hear "We are out of it". I stopped trying. I went in one night to buy some blank DVD's. One aisle was open and backed up to the horizon with custmers. Too cheap to open more cash registers. I threw the DVD's on a pile of candy and left.
