This is one of my wife and I's favorite taco places to go to. This is because she primarily eats seafood and the Baja C tacos are delicious! I'm a fan of the carna asada mini tacos and also the quesadillas. However, what makes this place stand out is the salsa quemada (which may be the best salsa I've had here in SA, though I'm not too fond of spices). I've passed this place multiple time and finally gave it a try. I picked up and order to go and they were very efficient and packed very well. I had the pozole and it was amazing, definitely full of flavor but not too greasy. I also tried the mini tacos, the barbacoa was great, but the carnitas were a little dry. This place had a long line and it was for a good reason! The food is very good and we got a little of everything. The Taco Gobernador was delicious with the shrimp and sauce. As for the quesadilla it was ginormous and packed with cheese, meat, onion, and bell peppers (did not really care for those last two). Also, to-go adult beverages are available as well! We love it here. Hubby usually gets the Tacos with asado or chicken and cilanto and onion and I try different things from the menu, my favorite so far is the nachos. They bring you free chips to the table and they have a great Salsa Bar. The staff is always really friendly. It's our go to place. I used to goto wapo all the time as it's right behind my neighborhood. Me and my husband really thought they were the best in San Antonio. So much that I recommended it to my parents only to find out when my dad (who was a paying customer) got yelled at by a guy named Luis. For grabbing plastic ware that was NOT behind the counter. He apparently made an entire scene to the point where even the other female workers apologized...this is bs and it's disappointing. I called and they said they would call me back to let me know and the lady apologized over the phone but Luis is the one I need to hear it from. How and why would you treat PAYING customers like that? Just don't go here, it's a gamble if you're going to be treated correctly. She tried to tell me they always put the plastic ware in the bag but my dad was a FIRST time customer so he just didn't know--and that was his experience. Also why are y'all yelling at paying customers anyway? Tonight, as my usual custom I placed a pickup order with your restaurant. When I arrived, found I had left my wallet in my office at work and only had 25:00 dollars cash with me. Getting to the counter to find out what the cost of the order would be I only had half of what the order came to. It was about $43:00 and I only had $25:00. I relayed my dilemma to the cashier and then the shift manager. I asked if I could return tomorrow and pay the balance since I was on break and would not be able to return immediately and by the time, I would be able to return the food would no longer be fresh or hot. She said no... she believed she would get in trouble with management if she did so was her response. I offered no argument and left my order behind. I left puzzled Thinking what would be done with the order left behind. I am a manager with a local data centerand have a large staff working for me. This caused me to consider how I would expect my staff to respond in similar circumstances. Obviously quite a different business environment: however, we both serve customers, and the goal should be customer satisfaction. I am not complaining or saying she was wrong in her decision not to allow me to return later to pay the balance, she was well within her right to refuse me. But was it the correct or better yet best decision? This will make for an interesting discussion in future trainings. I hope to impower my people to make the BEST decision ... read more

First time here, and the food was great!! My husband and I ordered the chicken fajita quesadilla, loaded chicken nachos, chips and queso, and an asada Wapo Taco. The quesadilla was really good, the peppers added a great flavor, the queso was good it just wasn't hot. The loaded nachos were great as well and the Wapo Taco was delicious! Went to this restaurant based on reviews. Worst mistake made. The only thing that was good was the chicken flautas. Beans tasted watered down with no flavor. Rice tasted bland and old. Stopped in there about a week ago. For my money, any place that has a salsa bar is already A Good Place, even before we get down to it. And this place is definitely good. We both ordered a burrito grande, with carnitas as the meat. A lot of good flavor, and the salsas were all uniformly terrific - we managed to try all of them.
